Accessing photos on photostream

Hoping someone can help me. I'm currently traveling in Asia and have my iPad mini and iPhone 5s with me. I've been using both for taking and managing my photos. I have an attachment for my iPad that lets me upload the pictures from my camera SD card. I've always uploaded then moved pictures straight to my icloud. I have about 190gb free on the cloud at the moment. My iPad and iPhone are both as streamlined as they can be - I don't have any pictures on the iPad and have reduced my apps to only a few. I'm now finding that I can't upload many pictures from my SD card because I apparently have nearly 7gb on my photostream. I can't understand where this 7gb is as  photostream is turned off on both my iPad and iphone. I've read that I can only fix this by using my mac or PC however I won't be home until September. How can I get rid (deleting or moving to the cloud) of this 7gb using my ipad ? I now can't upload many photos, nor can I download the latest iOS update or much else due to lack of space. Thanks.

You cannot access files inside a Time Machine backup.
To access files you need to copy the files from the iphoto library to a directory on the TC. Do not copy the library just the files.. as windows will not be able to use the iphoto library.
So just create a new directory under data on the TC.. and copy and paste the photos there. If the windows computer has access to the files you will be able to see them.. you might even do better creating the directory from the windows machine so you know it has permissions to open the files.

  • How do I get my photos from photostream in my PC to my iPhone?

I had to hand my phone in for repair a while ago and all my photos got deleted from my iPhone, but i had placed all my photos in photostream so I would be able to get access to them on my iPhone later on but now I can't get my photos from photostream in my PC into my photostream on my iPhone. When I take a picture with my iPhone it ends up in photostream but is doesn't work the other way around. I've been trying to get it to work for ages now, but I'm so close to throwing both my phone and computer out the window.
And yes, everything that has to do with photostream and icloud and so has been turned on so it's not that. Anyone who knows what to do?

On a PC with iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later, open a Windows Explorer window. Select Photo Stream under Favorites. Open My Photo Stream. Click the "Add photos" button. Select photos to import to My Photo Stream, and then click Open.

  • Not all Photos in photostream are downloaded !!

I bought iPadAir yesterday and I activate the photostream where I have over 700 photos there. But only latest 9 photos are downloaded in my ipad when I took new pics with my iPhone still can see them in my ipad. Does the age of the photo make diff. Here?
    Thanks

Yes.  Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, allowing enough time for your devices to download them.  When you enable it on a new device, it can only access photos that were added in the last 30 days.

  • How to access photos on iCloud from an iPad I no longer own

I recently sold my iPad, but stored my photos onto my iCloud account before doing so.  How do I access those photos & its database on to my iPhone and MacBook Pro?

You can't store your photos on icloud, what is it you think you have done. if you are referring to photostream, just enable photostream on another device and any photos in photostream will be synced to that device.

how to access photos stored in icloud and delete some?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream photos can be seen and deleted from any device that uses your iCloud account ans has photostream enabled.

  • HT5903 can't access photo stream on iCloud or iPhoto

when i log into iCloud i don't seem to have a "photo" button to access photos - only calendar, mail etc - i can't therefore access photostream and the photos from wife's ipad - also i thought i should be able to just access the shared photos ex my photostream in iphoto

You aren't supposed to be able to access photos at iCloud.com.
To enable photo stream in iPhoto enable system preferences > photos and follow on screen instructions.

  • Not all photos in photostream are pushing

Hi, I thought I had everything set up properly. I have had pics build up in my photostream. As of right now, there are over 600. I am not sure I downloaded them all, but they are not appearing in the photostream folder in my computer. How do I get them to send them to my computer? Alternatively, how do I manually do it? My cloud storage is full--I guess bc of the photos, so I need to get them all downloaded and clear them out. And on that note, how do I clear them out? What I think happened is everytime I moved them from photostream folder I didn't clear them out of the photostream. Thanks!

Yes.  Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, allowing enough time for your devices to download them.  When you enable it on a new device, it can only access photos that were added in the last 30 days.

I have had nothing but problems after downloading Lion and turning on ICloud. Can anyone tell if I can delete photos from Photostream and if not why not! it is infuriating

PhotoStream is purely a conduit for transferring pictures added to or taken on one device onto all the others seamlessly. Photos are held there only for 30 days. There is no way of accessing, viewing or deleting individual photos; you can reset the entire Photostream, erasing everything.

  • Not all photos on photostream sync to iPad

IPhoto says I have 197 photos in my photo stream. I recently had to delete my iCloud account on my iPad 2 because the notes were not syncing. When I added my iCloud account back only a few photos from the photostream synced back up. What can I do to have all photos on photostream sync back to my iPad?

iCloud only keeps photo stream photos from the last 30 days.  Your backup would include your camera roll photos but they can only be accessed by restoring the backup to your device.

  • Editing a photo in photostream causes my phone to power off?

I have an iPHone 4, not upgraded to IOS 6 yet & when I click on a photo in photostream to edit (crop, for example), the phone immediately powers off then powers back on.  It did it 4 times in a row last night & I just tried it again this morning & it did the same thing. No issues editing a photo in photostream on my iPad, only the phone & this has just started to happen.  Everything else within the phone is working normally.  I can also edit photos from the camera roll with no issues.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, your Lr catalogue is stored on the original Mac, so just logging into your account would not work. As a Windows user in your situation, and if the need for speed was essential, I would remove the hard drive from the malfunctioning PCI and connect it to a working example and try to access the catalogue from  an installation of Lr on that one. Is that at all possible with your Mac setup?
Edit: do you have separate backups of your catalogue, in the cloud for instance, but can the catalogue held there be installed on a different Mac? I 've no idea if this is possible, but if you're a professional facing a deadline etc, it might be worthwhile investigating this possibility if it's impossible to move the hard drive as I suggested above.

  • Trouble accessing photos.

Hello! Need help! Having trouble accessing photos from Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0, I had a free trial but never registered the program because I was not using it. The other day I was taking pics off a Canon camera, & they automatically loaded into that site. I selected cancel several times, but the program did not respond. Once they completely loaded in, the program asked if I wanted to erase photos from the camera, I selected no but it started erasing them, I was able to stop it but 44 were erased off the camera. I can see the photos in the program but can not access them since I never registered. I tried to register now but received email saying that program has expired. So how do I get my photos? Please help! The photos are not mine, I was loading them from a friends camera, & they are important vacation memories to her! Thanks! Ruth

When you click on one of the thumbnails do you see a blank window where the full sized image?  Or do you see this in the window:
In either case make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • How do I access photos that were backed up onto an external hard drive using Time Machine?

I used to own a PC. When my computer got too full, I would back up some of my photo albums onto an external hard drive (simply by copying and pasting what I wanted to save on the hard drive) and then delete them on my computer to free up space. Occassionally, I would still plug in my hard drive to access and use those photos when needed. I now own a Macbook Pro and after having issues with my old hard drive, I bought a hard drive compatiable with Macs. I plugged in the hard drive and backed up my entire computer using Time Machine. Now I would like to delete some of my photo albums to free up space on my computer. Before I do that, I would like to double check that they are indeed on the hard drive, but every time I try to open my iPhoto Library from the hard drive I get this error message: "The iPhoto library is a Time Machine backup, and so cannot be used as the main library. Reopen iPhoto with the Option key held down to choose another library." So I tried doing that, but the only option that comes up is my main iPhoto library on my computer. I can't seem to access what is on my hard drive.
I don't plan on deleting ALL of my photo albums, just a few. So I also want to make sure that the next time I plug in my hard drive to back stuff up, it won't copy just what is on my computer and override the last backup, because that would mean losing missing albums I had already deleted. I just want to be able to access photos on my hard drive when I want and occassionally manually add a few more albums to it. I don't intend to keep backing up my entire computer. My main concern are my photos.
    Can anyone help?

  • How can I access photos on my iphone through icloud using another device

I'm trying to get acess to the photos taken from my ipad, I turned on icloud photo stream on my devices, where can I find those photos using my mac?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Turn on Photostream in your system preferences > iCloud settings.
Assuming iPhoto is up to date, turn on photostream in iPhoto preferences.
Photos in photostream should start to sync with your Mac.

  • Advice on how to access photos on an iPad that were synced from a now failed laptop? The question stems from a need to return my current iPad having just taken delivery of a new unit. Thanks

I am after some advice on how to access photos on an iPad that were synced from a now failed laptop? The question stems from a need to return my current iPad having just taken delivery of a new unit. Thanks

If you have a dropbox account, there's a free app (probably more) that syncs photos to your dropbox account - picbox.
There's also PhotoSync that syncs photos to/from a number of different services and devices.
