Accessing stolen Macbook Pro pics on my new iMac via iCloud
My Macbook Pro was stolen but it was backed up last November and i replaced it with a iMac. When i open up my iCloud management app I can it was backed up, but can't access it. All I want is my pictures from it, is that possible? Thanks!

External HDD shows up on Macbook Pro but not on new iMac
I recently purchased a new 21.5" iMac and when setting it up, I utilized the Time Capsule backup from my Macbook Pro; everything seemingly went fine and my iMac was set up with all the data on the Time Capsule at the time (last update was a few months ago). Once everything was ready, I signed into the Mac App Store and downloaded the Yosemite upgrade (the iMac came with Mavericks). All the while, the Western Digital External HDD was not connected to the iMac.
Once everything was complete, the system rebooted and I was off and running with my new Mac.
The problem comes in when I tried to plug in the WD; everything lights up and it seems like the system is picking up the drive but then it just hangs there. It does not show up on the Desktop or the side panel in the Finder but it does show up in Disk Utility. When I verify the disk, it tells me that it is not mounted and when I try to mount it, it tells me that I cannot and to try to run First Aid on it. I have run a Repair disk and that made no difference.
The real head-scratcher is that the Macbook still picks it up without any issue but the new computer does not.
Can someone please help?

The WD was never formatted for Mac since it worked on the Macbook right out of the box and now I have about 500+ GB worth of info on there that I would rather not lose.

I am mostly wondering if anyone can provide an answer, or rather a reason, as to why it will legitimately work on one Mac (without any issue) and not on the other...especially if the new system has been set up using the information from the first one. -

When I use Disk Utility on a San Disk 2GB SD card I can only format as FAT16. The Jaybirds connected fine with an iPhone4s and another (forgotten) device so I don't think the problem lies with the Jaybird. I'd be interested if you hear differently.

I have set up my new iPhone 4 to sync with my MacBook Pro using iCloud as default. This works fine with Calendars on iCal in both directions. However, I am struggling with Contacts because new entries on the iPhone appear on my Mac's Address Book fine but erratically the other way. New entries on the Mac seem to appear OK on the iPhone but edits to existing accounts do not appear. Also, many entries were missing when I imported the main list from Mac to iPhone but that was done by cable through iTunes before setting up iCloud.
Welcome to the Apple community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing. -
MacBook Pro photos not uploading to iMac via photostream
I've loaded 1800 photos onto my MacBook Pro. iPhoto 11 with photostream. Photostream started right away (ie displayed a clock in iPhoto). About 300 photos are now visible on my iMac, but the clock no longer indicates photostream is working, and I'm not getting any more photos on my iMac.
Photo Stream can sync 1000 photos and the photos will be deleted after 30 days. On your iMac and MacBook Pro, open iPhoto > Preferences > Sharing and turn on Sharing setting

I have a new imac and cannot get the ical to show all of my calenders. I have gone to system prefrences and clicked the calendar setting and it freezes and i have to force quit. I have restarted the computer multiple times. Any suggestions?

So, as noted, my Macbook Pro had been stolen like 3 or 4 months ago. I had the device connected on Find my iPhone via icloud.com
When my device was stolen, I immediately went on icloud.com and selected "Play a sound" and other options that were available. But the problem was, the device was not connected to the internet. So I went on with time, bought myself a new Macbook Pro and forgot about that one a little... But today, I got a mail from Find my iPhone, that a sound was played on that stolen Macbook Pro. Now I went quickly on icloud, but the device was no longer on my list, so someone probably reset it. Is there anything I could to, to at least get to know the location of it when the sound played or maybe it's current location? Thank you for your help!My iMac was stolen 2 weeks ago and I just got the same emails, one that a sound played on it and another that it is locked.
According to the Find my iPhone app, shouldn't you be able to see the location for 24 hours, even if they went offline again? My device is still showing on my list, just offline. Now I have less than 24 hours to figure out why I can't see the last location...

Stolen macbook pro, offline, no serial #, not registered...help!
I have a dire looking situation with a stolen macbook pro. It was stolen from me in an airport and its offline, no luck with icloud. I did not keep the box, nor the receipt (as i was traveling), I had not even registered it yet, it was brand new, and now I have no idea where to find the serial number. I contacted Best Buy (bought off their website) to see if they keep serial numbers on sales, they said they didn´t, as I didnt have thier protection plan.

did you pay for it with a credit card? If so, that might be your only remaining proof of having purchased one at all. Of course, that won’t reveal what its serial number is. You’ll need to report its theft to whichever police force is in charge of that airport to have any chance of reïmbursement through your insurance company — be sure to keep all information provided to you by that police force, so that you can provide that information to your insurance company. -
I have registered the MacBook Pro with my apple Id, and I see that the MacBook is offline and cannot be located in the find my iPhone app.
If the thief reloads the operating system will I still be able track the MacBook because logically the serial number should remains the same.
Please do let me know as I have a lot of personal data in it.

I bought the app SERVER on recommendation from a One to One trainer but I am now told I need a Static IP and not a dynamic one. For me to change to a Static IP means going to a Business Account with BT and it is VERY expensive for my needs. How can I access my laptop from Berlin please??? I live in London and have BT Infinity there. The app Server does not indicate I need a Static IP when buying it. I can't unlock the screen to access my macbook pro. When I enter the password it just jiggles. I'm not getting an error message, so I'm pretty certain that the password is correct. Any suggestions?

Make sure if you have not done so yet to run software update to make sure you MBP is up to date, you can do this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left on your menu bar, and clicking on Software update.
One other thing that will help you when posting here is to make syre your profile is up to date/correct. You have in your profile as of now your MBP model and year which is freat, but you have for your operating system, iOS(mobile devces) 7.02, which would be for and iPhone, iPad, iPod. Your MacBook Pro operates on OSX (which in your case should be 10.8.5, you can find this info under the Apple logo, About this Mac) having this info available to anyone reading a question post is very helpful for them offer advice/sugesstions that may apply to your particular OSX, as well as eliminating confusion.

You can force quit by holding the power button down for extended period.
During boot up hold down the Option key and choose your Macintosh HD OSX.
In >System Preferences> Startup Disk>choose your internal OSX System as Default. -

Using Time Machine, or any other such program, to transfer Adobe software from one machine to another works probably less than five percent of the time. Uninstall from your new machine. Run the cleaner tool (do a search for Cleaner Tool on this site if you don't know what it is). Then reinstall properly from original media or downloads.
