Unable to access Oracle Enterprise Manager in Oracle 10g AS Machine
Hi All,
We are working on oracle forms 10g in 3 tier architecture. I have installed oracle 10g Infrastructure (OraHome_1) followed by oracle 10g Application server (middle-tier,OraHome_2). I have copied all the forms to OraHome_2\forms folder and compiled them successfully.
When i tried to access enterprise manager (Infrastructure)thru http://myappserver:18100, i was unable to do so. It displayed "page cannot be displayed".
Also
When i tried to access enterprise manager (middle-tier)thru http://172.16.1.1:18101, i was unable to do so. It displayed "page cannot be displayed".
I checked for port status, thru “netstat –na” command, It was displaying
172.16.1.1 18100 TIME_WAIT
172.16.1.1 18101 TIME_WAIT
172.16.1.1 7777 TIME_WAIT
Why is that i am unable to access the Enterprise Manager?Hi All,
I was able to resolve the issue. Thr was a proxy server enabled in the IE in AS machine. Once i checked the option for bypassing it and turned off the windows firewall(OS was win 2003 server). I was able to view the home page at http://myappserver, then was able to access EM also. -
Error ORA-12560 prompts when trying to log in to the Enterprise Manager
Hi all,
I am a newbie to Oracle.
Just installed the Oracle 9i Database Enterprise Edition (9.0.1) into Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. Problem is encountered when trying to log in to the Enterprise Manager Standalone mode using either system/oracle or scott/tiger as credentials. Error "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error" prompts.
I tried to check with some configuration and see whether the services are started. Services of "OracleOraHome90TNSListener" and "OracleServiceORCL" have been started and the database exists in the dedicated directory. Environment variables of "ORACLE_HOME" and "ORACLE_SID" have been added manually as the SID is set to orcl, which I just follow what the instruction manual has stated. Moreover, I can't get access using command prompt typing "svrmgrl"; error returned stating " 'svrmgrl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
Another information is that there is no domain set in my server. Just a server with a name being assigned in a workgroup.
Hence, would you mind please advice me what to do in order to get access into the Enterprise Manager? It's quite an urgent task.
A million thx in advance!
Best Regards,
KarenHi Jigneshrp,
Thanks for your reply.
It is checked that the listener is running and TNS name service exists. Following your advice, I did create a new listener and another name service and use them, but the same error turns out when trying to log in to the Enterprise Manager again.
Additional information to take note for is that while reconfiguring the existing listener or creating a new listener, a mesage prompts stating "The information provided for this listener is currently in use by other software on this computer. You can proceed with the configuration as it is, but it will not be possible to start this listener until the conflict is resolved. Would you like to continue with the continue with the configuration anyway? Yes/No".
As for the reconfiguration or the new creation of TNS names service, when I am trying to test for the connection, the results in the details pane states that "Connecting... ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error. The test did not succeed...."
Would you mind pls advice me on these?
Furthermore, there exist 2 questions I am wondering is that it is stated in the instruction manual that prior to the installation, a static IP should be specified for it instead of the DHCP one; hence, I wanna ask after the complete insallation, is it that the server should be running in the network, i.e. allow it to get connected with the outside network?
2nd question is that can Oracle 9i Database Server Standard Edition (9.0.1) be installed under a Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and just a Window XP Professional?
Thanks for your reply.
Best Regards,

Cannot access to Enterprise Manager OBIEE 11.1.15
Hi All,
I have got a strange issue i.e. I cannot access to Enterprise Manager (http://hostname:7001/em), but can access to Console(http://hostname:7001/console) and Analytics (http://hostname:7001/analytics). I have restarted the BI Services but still the error continues.
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.Hope someone have the answer.Hi,
A 404 error tells me that the resource (may be an application/page etc) is not available on the server. It might be that the resource is present but not working too. Since, you are not able to access the EM, I guess the EM application is not active in your server.
To resolve this, login to Admin Console, navigate to Deployments -> Look for EM named application and start it.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,

I'm Galit from the QE team of VIN.
All the things that you've described are correct.
It is actually an edge case where the only VM, that the manual App can be managed from its Map view, was removed from the App.
The Manual App management is as designed, and may be changed in the future.
There are 2 ways to overcome this situation:
1.You can, as you stated, create another Manual App with similar name and remain with the "Zombie App".
2. To run a specific command that will remove the Zombie App from the DB.
Please note that option no. 2 involves using an API that we do not publish.
If you would like to use option no. 2 contact me in private and we will see about supplying the relevant commands to run in order to delete the "zombie" application.
Thanks,
Galit Gutman -
Stopping the Enterprise Manager Console (Oracle 10g on SuSE 9.1)
I'm trying to stop the Enterprise Manager Console by issuing the command:
${ORACLE_HOME}/bin/emctl stop dbconsole
Unfortunately, the command fails to stop the EM Console. Here's the output I get:
TZ set to US/Pacific

Stopping Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control ...

failed.
The only way I can stop the EM Console (and related services--i.e., emagent) is to kill its process.
Everything (Listener, DB Instance, EM Console) starts fine. I can stop the Listener and DB Instance without any problems. It's just the EM Console shutdown that doesn't happen cleanly.
Has anyone else encountered the same condition? If so, what was the solution?
Here's my operating environment:
SuSE 9.1 (Kernel 2.6.5-7.108-default)
Oracle 10g
Thanks in advance for any help/insight.Has anyone else encountered the same condition? If so, what was the solution?Yes. Shutdown/reboot of the system made the error go away.
Sorry, no better clues,

BPEL processes not showing up in the Enterprise Manager
We're having a serious problem with our BPEL processes. When we click on the initiate tab in the BPELConsole for each of them they give us the error message:
An Error Occured :
Failed to read WSDL from http://testserver:8888/orabpel/mydomain/TestProcess/1.1/TestProcess?wsdl:WSDL not found
When we look in the Enterprise Manager and go to the Web Services tab for the "orabpel" application we don't see any of our processes like we used to. When we deploy new processes the same thing happens -- their wsdls are unreachable. When we type the wsdl location into browser bar it gives us this error message:
there is no WSDL associated with the provider: BPEL_OC4J_SOAP_Provider
Any help would be greatly appreciated.I ran into a BPEL_OC4J_SOAP_Provider error today and it was related to my proxy. The proxy on my local machine with JDeveloper would allow a WSDL with an unqualified name through. For instance, the machine kronos:7779 would validate, compile, and deploy from my machine. But looking up the WSDL on the server would produce the above described error. When I changed the name of the server to kronos.whatever.com:7779 it worked as expected on the server.

Error while testing Driver connection Through The EnterPrise Manager
Hi -
I am using OAS 10.1.3v for my application.I am using both SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver and Oracle JDBC driver for my application. I am encountering problems due to SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver.
I tried testing for connectivity for SQL driver through the enterprise manager.(on the em console, inside home/administration/JDBC resources ). I am getting the following error :
Unable to create : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Missing class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver Dependent class: oracle.oc4j.sql.config.DataSourceConfigUtils Loader: oc4j:10.1.3 Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/lib/oc4j-internal.jar Configuration: in META-INF/boot.xml in E:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar This load was initiated at ascontrol.web.ascontrol:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method. The missing class is available from the following locations: 1. Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/applib/mssqlserver.jar (from in /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/config/server.xml) This code-source is available in loader global.libraries:1.0. This shared-library can be imported by the "ascontrol" application
I tried adding mssqlserver.jar to the shared library.Still, i got the same error.
The connection which i am trying to test, has the following entry in the data-sources.xml :
<connection-pool name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" max-connections="30">
<connection-factory factory-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" user="sa" password="" url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411;selectMethod=cursor" commit-record-table-name=""/>
</connection-pool>
<managed-data-source connection-pool-name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource" name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"/>
I also tried with native-data-source option in the data-source.xml without a connection pool like -
<native-data-source
name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"
jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource"
description="Native DataSource"
data-source-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource"
user="sa"
password=""
url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411 ;selectMethod=cursor ">
</native-data-source>
I am getting the same error as above.
Has anybody encountered a similiar problem ?
A related post that was posted by me is :
SQL Server Driver Problem in Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 data-sourcesthank you very much for your help. for update server's full name, may I put the mapping values into host file in the format of <ip address> <hostname.domain name> <hostname>, do you think it is OK?
in the second blog you suggest there is something about Server port(please refer to the following):
in the window machine, there should be an entry like sapms<SAP System ID> , can you please give me a full example:
let's say my system ID is EC1, so it would be sapmsEC1 8000/tcp, right ?
Here you have to enter the port of your application server. By default this is 80<SAP System ID>. But your basis administrator can modify this setting, thatu2019s why you should check it in the transaction SMICM (Goto -> Parameters -> Display). For example the IBSolution Development System Erinome the port is 8000.
You can also have a look into your services file on your machine. If you have a windows machine then the file exists e.g. here C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
In this file you should search a entry like sapms<SAP System ID>.

LogMiner Viewer in the Enterprise Manager 10g ??
Does somebody know if there is LogMiner Viewer in the Enterprise Manager 10g?
How could I do to work with this tool ?
ThanksThere is a 10g style. It comes with the client software. It is very much a stripped down version. I downloaded it and installed it. I could not find Logminer viewer in it. I did find some documentation. Here is what it says.
Launching LogMiner Viewer
To launch LogMiner Viewer, take the following steps:
Invoke LogMiner Viewer: On UNIX platforms, enter:oemapp lmviewer
The command string is case-sensitive and must be entered with lowercase characters.
On Windows NT, from the Programs menu,
choose Oracle_home > Database Administration > LogMiner Viewer.
After you invoke LogMiner Viewer,the Login dialog box is displayed.
Select Launch standalone.
Now, you can connect to a standalone Oracle Enterprise Manager repository.
If you do not have a standalone repository or if LogMiner Viewer is not aware
of an existing standalone repository, you cannot save queries.
When you attempt to expand a database or save a query, LogMiner Viewer displays
an informational message and leads you through a dialog to connect to or to create
a repository. See Connecting to or Creating a Standalone Repository for more information.
Click OK. -

Unable to start the Enterprise Manager
I've installed Oracle 10g on a RHEL 4 AS machine with very little problems. I'm now trying to start the Oracle DBMS service and listeners as well as configure the DBMS. I have the listener running and now I'm try to get the Enterprise Manager running. In enter the following command:
emctl start dbconsole
I get the following results:
TZ set to US/Eastern
OC4J Configuration issue. /disk1/Oracle/oracle_dbms/product/10.2.0/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_CSCDSERVER5_oracle not found.
This install has been a real struggle for me. My installation was as follows: "Advance, Custom & Software Only". What is causing this and how do I get things working?
ThanksYou are referring the same topic on your other thread: Install of Oracle 10g on RHEL 4 AS (newbie)

Where can i find the SQL page in the enterprise manager?
Hi everybody
i want to execute a number of indexes on my database, so i thought of 2 ways but each way has a problem:
1) copy and paste the contents inside SQLPLUS, but this will cause an error that every line should ends with ";"
2) execute the file contains the indexes "createindexes.sql" inside SQLPLUS by using the commnad "@ createindexes" and the SQLPLUS by default will know that it is ".sql", when i try this way it gives me the following error although i am sure that i connect correctly by the right schema and password:
SQL> @D:\TPoX.v1.3\TPoX\Oracle\ddl\createindexes.sql;
CREATE INDEX security_idx ON "security" (sdoc) INDEXTYPE IS XDB.XMLIndex
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
CREATE INDEX custacc_idx ON "custacc" (cadoc) INDEXTYPE IS XDB.XMLIndex
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
CREATE INDEX order_idx ON "order" (odoc) INDEXTYPE IS XDB.XMLIndex
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
lastely, someone told me to copy and paste them inside the SQL page exists in the enterprise manager, but i don't know where, i searched a lot for it but i didn't find it. please help
thx
DinaAre you sure that your table name is lower case
Can you do the following commands in SQLPLUS
desc security
desc "security"
desc SECURITY
Also, can you tell us more about what your are doing with TpoX -
I couldn't login to the Enterprise Manager Server by EMC
Dear all:
couldn't login to the Enterprise Manager Server by Enterprise Manager Console.
EMC is in Start Menu->Programs->OWB_ORACLE_HOME->Warehouse Builder->Enterprise Manager Console.
After clicking EMC, then the screen is represent by Login window at my database when I selected my database.
But, when I put user name/password in this window, there is no response.
How can I login to EMC? When I checked manual, I found that I have to start Oracle Management Server but I don't know how I can start OMS. Also, how can I create OEM repository?
Please let me know what it is problem.
Thank you.
JWS.Hi
Enterprise Manager Server is a service, you can start it in the control panel/administrative tools/services.
To create a repository run the enterprise manager configuration assistant.
To login to EMC se the help for the default username/pwd.

How do I create an MPG2 with Compressor that is neither 16:9 or 4:3?
I have a quicktime movie, exported from FCP which is 1280X800. I need to create an MPG2 also at 1280X800. How do I do this? Compressor only seems to create a 16:9 or 4:3 MPG2 regardless of the original source file. Thanks.
