Accessing the Help Menu pse6

My HELP Menu doesn't work. I click on help & get a drop down menu, but then clik on Photoshop Elements Help or hit F1 & it closes the box without sending me to help. My internet connection is open if it needs that & I tried putting in the CD that has the program onit & I didn't see anything on that either. Hoe do I access the HELP menu

If this doesn't help, you could always bookmark the Online LiveDocs Help address. The online files should be the most up-to-date. Links for Photoshop Elements 6 "LiveDocs" help can be found at the top of this page.
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/photoshop_elements/
The Help PDF should be on your CD. If it isn't, it probably would be a good idea to download one of the PDF help document for Photoshop Elements 6 for your OS that is also linked on this page.

  • How to restart firefox if you don't access the help menu or any tabs?

I was in the middle of restarting firefox when my laptop shut off (I have a macbook pro) & when I turned it back on I opened firefox and this message keeps popping up:
"Profile missing Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I've tried looking it up but all I'm getting told is how to reset it & a few other things I can't figure out.
I can't reset it since when I open it the only menu option is "firefox" there's no "help" menu or anything like before. Also I've tried turning off my laptop & reinstalling it, I logged out & went onto another account and the firefox worked fine.. except I don't want to have to use another account when all my stuff is on this one. So is there any other way to reset it or something quick to do?

I'm not sure it's necessary to use the Reset feature, but if you wanted to, I think you would need to hold down the Option key when starting Firefox. That should display a small dialog with the choices of starting in Safe Mode or performing a Reset.
By the way, did you find this article? It has the steps to investigate whether your profile folder actually is truly gone: [[How to run Firefox when your profile is missing or inaccessible]].
If you use Time Machine or other backup software/service, you may be able to restore your profile folder. However, as a Windows user, I'm out of my depth on the steps for that.

  • FF crashes at start-up; the solution seems to suggest that I should access the help menu on the FF window--which I can't open because it crashes--what am I missing?

it started on 9/3--worked fine for years before that.
Sorry to be dumb, but I cannot follow your instructions--they make no sense to me. What is a location bar (to find "about:crashes"). where do I find a crash id? where do I find "help> troubleshooting" to copy and paste information? you could use much better help screens to explain to the averge person what you need.

If Firefox is crashing as soon as you open it, getting information from inside Firefox is almost impossible. See if Firefox crashes so quickly when you open Firefox in the Firefox SafeMode. Hold the '''Shft''' when you go to start Firefox, don't select anything right now, just use '''''Continue in SafeMode'''''.

  • Opening html help documentation through the help menu

I am using oracle dev suite 10g and application server 10g. I have developed HTML help files for my forms web application which I would like users to be able to access by selecting from the horizontal menu, help -> view docs.
The only way I could think of was to install webutil and save a copy of the help docs on each client machine. But forms builder doesn't allow me to copy webutil as a library on my menu (it does allow me to copy to a form), and so using CLIENT_HOST (within the menu item code) gives me an ' identifier must be declared' error.
The ideal situation would be to host a single copy of the help docs on the application server (along with the compiled forms) and have the users access the help files from there. But I believe there is no way to open a file on the server on the client's browser - is this true?
If so, then is there a way to use webutil with a menu?
    I hope I was clear...

    Thanks for your prompt response.
Once I save my file on the $OH/forms/java directory (for example), what URL do I use to access it?
Simply using the computer name and directory structure won't work as clients don't have privileges to view files on the server.
    Any ideas?

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I can't get my iMac to accept a CD/DVD disc.  It acts like there's already one in there but there isn't.  Tried the help menu but nothing worked.Suggestions?

Thank you, Allen.  My iMac is a 2009.  I can't shine a light into the disc drive slot as it has a built in whisker cover that prevents anything from getting in.  It will accept a disc half way in before the disc reaches a springy obstruction.
About 3 weeks ago, the computer locked up so I inserted the OS disc and reinstalled it.  In general, the computer works just like it used to but we've had a few quirks appear; for example, this is one of them.  Also, we can't figure out how to keep from having to sign-in when we turn the computer on.  Also, we can't access our one on-line account anymore.  Very strange.

P.S.:  Just realized I mis-spelled your name.  Sorry Allan.

  • Search in the Help menu

Since upgrading to Leopard I've been
    a) mystified by the point of the Search function in the Help menu
    b) increasingly frustrated by how it gets in the way of what I want to do
Perhaps I'm missing the point and someone can set me straight!
The Help menu has been around for a while - a standard menu to the right of all the other menus in any given application. It's part of the application menus rather than the generic menus over to the right which access system functions, so there's definitely the sense that it belongs to the application rather than the system. Different applications populate it according to need - often making using of the Apple Help infrastructure.
In Leopard a Search box inserts itself in the Help menu above the standard application populated items. It looks like a Spotlight search - so am speculating that it is. So what does it search? Well what I expected was a search of that application's help. However, whatever application I'm in it seems that it searches the whole Apple help system rather than the application I'm in and on which I need help.
Worse - the search results show up in the help menu and blow away all the application specific items. The net result is that I end up with a lot of hits unrelated to the application - and then completely unable to access that application's help. I guess there may be shortcuts to get back out of the mess - but life's too short - it needs to more intuitive.

    Hi
Yes it is the Spotlight search field & just below that search box in, say Firefox, the top option is Firefox Help. Clicking that takes me to the Help specifically for Firefox.
Spotlight will search almost everything. It won't, AFAIK, search your Home, System or Library folders (to do that you need to use Finder's Find (Cmd-F) which is more thorough).
Is my answer helpful or do you need more

  • Error when opening Find Examples under the Help menu

Today when I tried opening the Find Examples under the Help menu in LabVIEW 6.1, it would not open correctly. The Find Examples window appears and then an error window appears on top of it with the following description -
"Error 1 occurred at open or create file (function 1)."
Then ther is a list of possible reasons.
I have had this version of LabVIEW installed for over 6 months and had no problems until today. I tried running the installation program for LabVIEW and repairing LabVIEW but had no success.
What should I do next? Is there a file/s I can delete and then install manually?
    Thanks,
    Rodney

I've never actually heard of this error ocurring with the Examples Finder before. If it continues, I would probably just reinstall LabVIEW. That should clear up the problem.

  • Help with the help menu

I´m a big fan of the help menu function. I use it all the time in all the Adobe applications.
Suddenly, it just stop working in InDesign. The others still work.
The way it´s supposed to work is that if you know the name of a command but not the keyboard shortcut or where the command is located – you start typing the name of the command in the help menu. If you type "convert to" the help menu suggest "convert to profile" and others. If you click a suggestion InDesign should execute the command.
That was before. Now it just plays the system error sound and does nothing.
Does anyone have a tip for me on how to get my beloved help menu back on track?
    Cheers

  • How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet?  The Help menu doesn't help.

Simple question whcih i cannot find the simple answer to:  How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet?  The Help menu doesn't help.

    Hi Lecia,
    You have several choices.
Use the first set of controls in the Format Bar. One of these is a Color well (red in the image). Select the cell(s) in which you want the text coloured, then click the well to open its Color palette, and choose your colour.
Use the Text Inspector. Open the inspector, click the Text button (T), and use the tools there (similar to the set in the Format Bar).
Press command-T to open the Fonts Window. This offers a few more options than are available in the Inspector or the Format bar.
Regarding "Help": I'd recommend using the Numbers '09 User Guide, which you can download via the Help menu. Easier to search, and easier reading than the individual Help articles. search 'text color' to quickly get to instructions on applying colour to text.

    Barry
