Accessing the internal memory via USB

I know that you can plug in an 8520 via a USB cable and access the SD card, however I need to access the internal memory. How can I do this without installing the full Desktop manager software?

  • Help ! - Can no longer copy backup files, nor access the drive vols via USB

Need help. I have a WD 320 gig drive with (3) Partitions:
    1. Mac OS File system
    2. Mac OS File system
    3. MS DOS file system
I am trying to migrate the files and dir's on this drive to another, but am unable to. History:
The drive was used as a USB/FW backup. Time machine can access and write to the Mac partitions. The drive has been backed up both via FW/USB and Airport disk. Drive is now filling up and I cannot access the backup files (dir's) to copy them: " Sorry, you do not have sufficient access priviledges..."
If I disconnect and try to migrate the files manually via FW or USB - I get a similar error. Windows is visible both online and off. What gives ? Is this a result of Airport disk ? Time Machine ? or both ?
I used to be able to migrate files on and off just fine. By only recourse will be to partition and erase it seems. Need any help ......thanks

Your Template code is incomplete / corrupted.
That's why you can't edit it.
Try opening your .dwt file in a plain text editor like NotePad.  Remove the editable regions from code.  Save.  Open in DW.
You will need to SaveAs Template (same name as the one used by your child pages).  Add editable regions to match the ones in your child pages.  Save.

  • I have an LG Extravert with a touch screen that doesn't work. How do I access the internal memory (NOT the SD card) to save data that wasn't moved over to the card?

My touch screen fell victim to the same issue many people have with this phone - the touch screen has become only effective for very limited items - mostly just Contacts. I've tried bluetooth and plugging in the phone, shutting it down and repowering a million times. Nothing will let me access any memory that wasn't already stored on the SD card. Help!

        a_oglesby,
A non-working phone is a bummer. Let's get your phone working. We encourage you to plug your phone into your computer to see if you can view items stored on your device.

  • Which models provide access to handset memory via ...

    Hi
Many Nokia models with a memory card inserted will allow the user to browse the contents of that memory card by connecting via cable and then selecting "Mass Storage" on the phone.
*Some* Nokia models allow the user to access the internal handset memory in a similar way - e.g. N95 8GB, 6500 Classic, N96 etc. Other models don't allow this  (e.g. N95 will say that mass storage mode is not accessible without a memory card inserted).
My question is, which specific models allow this ability to access the internal handset memory via mass storage? Is there any kind of list somewhere?
    Thanks
    Kevin

"User data area" is too vague.
If there is no memory card inserted in the phone and if there is no built-in mass storage then the user data will be stored in the phone's internal memory (C: drive). Even in this configuration, the data is not accessible via mass storage mode.
Take the case of the N95-1. It has a 160MB C: drive and a slot for a memory card (E: drive). If there is no card in the slot then you won't be able to connect the phone in mass storage mode in the first place. If you do stick a card in the slot then that card is what you'll have access to in mass storage mode.
Now take the case of the N95-2. It has the same 160MB C: drive but also 8GB of on-board memory (E: drive), which behaves exactly like an 8GB memory card in the N95-1. It's this E: drive that's visible in mass storage mode.
Finally, take the example of the N96, which has both 16GB of on-board memory and a slot for a memory card. In mass storage mode it's the 16GB of mass memory (E: drive) that's visible. Whether there's a memory card in the microSD slot (F: drive) or not, it's the E: drive, and only the E: drive, that's visible in mass storage mode.

  • How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

  • Format the internal memory of the DMP

Anyone know how I can format the internal memory of the DMP?
I store content in the internal memory of the DMP and USB memory, but a few days from the date the DMPs generate files with strange names (junk files).
To delete these junk files, I remove the drive and formatting on a computer.
But it is hard work, since I have 300 DMPs.
    Thanks for your comments.

Yes that would work. You can put two 2gb RAM sticks in your model 2,1 but it can only use 3,3gb. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed.

OWC tests have found that there is a slight speed increase with having two 2gb sticks in rather than one 1gb and one 2gb. Your model is in the gray lines at the bottom of the graph. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Memory_Benchmark/Apple_MacBook/

You can only use the US store if you are in the US with a US billing address on your account - the US store's terms of use (and they will be similar for all countries) :
The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance.

  • Deleted by mistake some files off the internal memory

Device storage was almost full and I decided to check what too most space and delete it. I went through folders to see that some folders were repeated twice. Decided to try deleting one(automatically regretted it) to see if the other one stayed.
As a conclusion, I deleted 600 items, most of them music, of the internal memory.
Is there any way to recover it?

There are different recovery software programs available out there that run on Windows. Perhaps one of them might be able to recover it if you connect to your PC. There is nothing on the device that can recover it.
That said, I've noticed the duplicated folders, as well, but haven't tried to delete them.

The storage capacity of the iPhone can not be upgraded.

Their are some display adaptors you can get. I have an older Mac Pro with DVI but my monitor is a Thunderbolt Display. This used to be around $250. It is way cheaper now.

iPhone contacts: file transfer to Windows 7 via USB-cable
My iPhone can communicate with the computer only via USB-cable (no mobile data, no bluetooth, no internet, no outlook). As I want to get the phone to the "doctor" I want to save specifically my contact data and calendar details on the computer (OS: Windows 7). How can I solve this task? I will appreciate your valuable information, thanks.

Using the iPhone, the USB cable, iTunes and Windows Contacts, sync the iPhone contacts to Windows Contacts. That will save them there. They are also included in the iPhone backup made in iTunes, and if you use iCloud.
I'm sorry, I missed the calendar part the first time I looked. For calendar, you need a supported application on the computer (Outlook) or if you use iCloud, you can use the iCloud contacts and calendar app to sync.
