Accessing the memory card
I used to have a 5130, with it I was able to access my memory card in an area called gallery. From there i would have the option to access the photos and music from the phone and the option to access the memory card was there as well. I now have a 5230 but i realise that this option is not available. Is there anyway to get this option for the 5230 by changing the settings or updating the phone softwarse.
You've moved from a basic phone with a Java-based OS to a Symbian smartphone, access to your files from Gallery and Music Player are database-driven which find compatible file types wherever they are stored in the phone.
For your music, inserting a card from another phone won't automatically add music tracks to the music database. To do this, open the Music Player then select Options>Refresh Library. The phone will perform a scan of all available memories looking for music files and will add the content of your memory card.
The Gallery database for images and videos should be updated as soon as you open the gallery, and so if you then select Images and Videos you should see all photos and videos on both phone memory and memory card, sorted by default in descending date order.

Power based Profile or Losing sight of the Memory Card
When my Blackberry 8310 is plugged into its USB cable and I've put the password in to enable the 'memory stick' it operates a different sound profile. ie, the ringtone used for phone and text notification changes.
I think it is something to do with whether the Balckberry OS can or cannot see the memory card but I've not been able to determine the exact rules. It seems to lose site of the ring tones on the memory card when enabled so uses a ring tone other than the one I've set.
I've looked for user instructions or further guidance without any luck so thought I would post on this forum to see what expereince others had.

if you want to keep the ringtones while connected as USB, copy them to the internal memory of your device.

My desktop tells me that I need to "insert a disk into drive F:" ... which is the default for the USB port that the BB is plugged into, but will not let me explore. -
@How do you prevent the organizer from mixing the order of pictures when down loading off the memory card?
This sounds like you are using Photoshop Elements, and the Photoshop Elements forum would be best at answering that.

On IMac 10.9 After I import a movie file from the camera memory card to Imovie 10.0.1 it acts as if the memory card is empty though I know it isn't.... I can't import that file to iMovie again.. is that the way it works now? Anyone know? Thanks, Filippo
I would like to know this too. I imported a lot of files, then Imovie crashed. I went back in and they are not in imovie at all.
I reconnected the camcorder to import again and though they are still on the camcorder, I no longer see them in the available list of files to import. I'm sure there is some sort of simple setting somewhere that reveals all files even if it thinks they are imported.

Problem with Access of memory card and internal storage after update

I cant save anything on intern or extern memory.
Was about to write some file into a folder belonging to some application.
Made this with a copy from external to internal memory alst friday without any problem. But I even could not save a file on the memory card, memory ist locked.

Did you use the preinstalled app "File Commander" when you tried this or a 3:rd party file manager? Due to new restrictions for the external SD card in Android 4.4 you need to use the preinstalled file manager or use a computer to write to any folder on the external SD.

Can not access the media card files Blackberry 8310.
I had a battery drain problem. The unit would only last 16 hours before completely drained. Purchased a new battery with the same result. I figured that I should try a complete reset so I did a hard wipe. Once that was done and I loaded the unit back up and returned online, the battery drain problem was resolved but now I can not access the media card.
Here are the messages:
“A media card has been inserted that contains encrypted content which will be unaccessible by this device”
I can see the files. I have transferred them to my PC via the SD card but I can not open them. Here are the settings:
Media card support – ON
Encryption Mode: - Security Password & Device
Encrypt Media Files – YES
Mass Storage Mode Support – OFF
Please note – I can not change the encryption mode since it is set by policy
Security Options – General Settings – Content Protection – Disabled
The version of Desktop Manage I am using is 4.2.1.8. When I try to use the Media Manager to move the files, I get an error message and can’t move the file. If I access the file on the card and try to display it, I get:
Unable to display file /media card/ pictures/ing000000xx.jpg.rem
Here is what I have tried (from the advice on this board):
1) Read the files directly off the media card – No good
2) Create a “new” folder on the media card and move a file into it then try to read it – No good
3) Email the file then read it – No good
4) Reset Encryption mode to off then try – Can’t do it – IT Policy setting
5) Be sure that the password was set the same as before the wipe (setting is password & device) – Can’t do it – The Blackberry prevents me from using an old password.
So I think I can’t read the files because I can’t replicate the encryption key. Could that be right? My problem is that I do not understand why this would be the case. It is still the same device and since it knows what the old password was (because it would prevent me from using it again), why would it not generate a key to access the files?
All I am trying to get off the card are pictures on my 6 year old … some are priceless. Can someone help me do this? One would think that this should not be this hard but from all the postings I have found, it seems that it is. And yes, shame on me for not moving the files before I did the reset (THAT will never happen again!) but this being unrecoverable is unconscionable given how many seem to find themselves in this situation.

Try going to media-menu-explore-media card-blackberry-pictures See what the extension is on your pics. If any have the extension such as .jpg.rem they are encrypted.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

C5-03; how to view music files in the memory card ...
Is it possible to view the files in the memory card (using the File Manager) folder-wise? I have some music files in the memory card; in a folder named 'Music'. When I go to Menu - Applications- Office- File mgr - E:Memory car-Music , I see the files in different collections corresponding to the artist/ genre names. I don't see the folders I had created. The artist/ genre (meta) data is not accurate and so the listing based on that is not useful.
This is related to the problem with Palylists I had posted earlier.go to music player select options and refresh player this will pick up all the music

I recently purchased an iPad camera connection kit hoping to directly download pictures from my camera to my iPad. When I put my memory card into the adapter and plug it in to my iPad nothing happens. My camera is a Sony Cybershot and the memory card is a Sony memory stick PRO duo 512 mb. I don't think I am doing anything incorrect. Is my camera/memory card incompatible with this adapter?
The Camera Connection Kit works with SD cards, not Memory Sticks.
Maybe you can find an MS to SD adapter, or use the USB connection with the USB cable that came with the camera. -

I have read various posts about the same problem.
I backed up my phone memory to my memory disk memory before updating my Nokia software as suggested. I have now been asked to put in a password. I didn't set a password, and have tried 12345, but no luck. I would prefer not to format the memory card as i will lose contacts and a hefty amount of music.

Nokia should give a warning that the memory card will lock!That message appears because your phone was hacked to unlock it in order to use it with the carrier you're now using. Updating software or restoring a hacked iPhone will re-lock it to the carrier it was originally locked to. You have two choices: re-hack it, or get it officially unlocked(only the carrier it is locked to can authorize such).

Why can't I transfer my photos from the memory card to my computer.
I have an HP 5510 and can't see where I can download photos from the memory card to my computer. The printer only lets me view the photos or print them, but I want to store them on my computer. How do i do that?
I'm wondering the same thing... Do I need to connect the printer via the usb cable? Help Please.

BB Curve 9220 not reading the memory card

I have a Blackberry Curve 9220
v7.1.0.746 , Platform 9.50.0.80
1 week ago I was using this phone and that time i didnt have a memory card in this device. I opened wechat and it showed either to insert memory card or to disable usb mass storage in this device. I didnt have a memory card that time, so, i tried todisable the usb mass storage and I did that.
Today, I inserted a memory card in this device, it shows that "Media Card is presently not inserted in this device"
When I searched the internet I got some solutions. They showed that to enable mass storage mode and check media card support on.
I turned Media Support set to ON.
I have made sure that the media card is formatted and inserted properly.
BUT
When i pressed the option (BB Logo key) button , it didnt show the option to enable usb mass storage. It just showed these options : "Switch app" ,"Select Text" , "Save" , "Help" , "Close".
There is no option to enable usb mass storage and it is not reading the memory card
Please tell me what to do !

Enable or disable USB mass storage mode
If you connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer using a USB cable but does not appear as a drive on your computer, you may need to activate the USB mass storage.
On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
Click Device> Storage.
Press > Enable USB mass storage.
If necessary, type the password for the smartphone.
Your smartphone appears as a drive on your computer.
To disable USB mass storage mode, press > Disconnect.

N81: "Memory full" even formatted the memory card
Hi.
Using N81, I get the "Memory full. Delete some data" message every time (when turning on the mobile, when trying to install any app, when trying to uninstall any app, ...).
I've formatted the memory card, and I've got:
- Capacity: 1947 MB
- Used: 1 MB
- Free: 1946 MB
but continue getting the same error.
Any similar experience? I reset the mobile (*#7370# and *#7780#) but I don't experience any change (I've deleted the time and settings, but not the memory issues).

Thank you for your post.
What I recommend you try is to re-installing your firmware and see if this make a difference. You can do this via Nokia suite through tools and update.
If after this is still isn't working when you did a hard reset (*#7370#) did you back and restore? If you did do the hard reset but don't restore, do still experience the same issue?
