Accessing the Recycle Bin via Windows Explorer
I run a no-icon desktop and have noticed in the RC that I can not seem to access the Recycle Bin via Windows Explorer as has previously been the case. Thus making it, in my experience so far, impossible to empty the Recycle Bin without turning on Desktop Icons to do it, and then turning them off again when finished.
I have found a work-around that is quite simple to setup, add a Favourates Shortcut to Windows Explorer, but I wondering with there is a setting somewhere now that needs activating/deactivating to have Windows Explorer show the Recycle Bin as one the the items in the Navigation Panel under Computer?
When the Recycle Bin is visible on the Desktop, left-click and drag the icon image to the TaskBar near the Start button. If you have Aero, you'll see a message "Pin to Windows Explorer".
Then open Windows Explorer and you'll see the Recycle Bin on the DeskTop from the left column.
Now you can opt to not display the Desktop Icon. Contol Panel>Appearance and Personalization> Personalization and select >Change Desktop Icons>Uncheck Recycle Bin.
Work for you?
After doing the above, I then opened Windows Explorer, and used the organize tab. I then selected "the show all folders" option, selected ok. The Recycle Bin now appears in the left Navigation Pane and the Icon is not visble on the desktop. I believe it is because I pinned it to win explorer by dragging it to the taskbar that it appears there.

Actually, dchristie, your solution didn't help at all. If I wanted to use IE, I wouldn't have installed Firefox. IE is a good browser, but doesn't have features Firefox has. Also, when Firefox crashes windows can kill it and you can restart it no problem. When IE crashes, since it is so tightly integrated into windows, windows itself becomes unstable and you have to reboot.

I have an issue with the Recycle Bin. It does not respond if I click on the Icon. I have to empty the bin via another program
"CCleaner" is a scam and it may well have corrupted the operating the system. Get rid of it according to the developer's instructions, then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon, usually with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Use the Recycle Bin during Save Operations
The other night I was working on a big image. I had been saving it to my master .psd file, and right before I quit my Photoshop session I downsized the image and did a Save - As .jpg so I would have a draft copy.
When I exited Photoshop it dutifully prompted me "The document has changed, do you want to save?" and I absent-mindedly clicked [ Yes ]. Oops!
By virtue of the fact that I had saved the master file in several different folders, I did not lose all my work, even though my latest master file was overwritten with a small image.
I believe that when Photoshop saves a file it actually writes a new file with a temporary name, then deletes the old file and renames the newly written file to the name of the old. So I thought to myself, perhaps Photoshop used the Recycle Bin, and I can undelete the previous version... But it wasn't there.
If the deletion I mention above is actually happening...
It would be great if Photoshop would to send files that are deleted during Save operations to the Windows Recyle Bin. Then prior files could be available via undelete.
I've also submitted this via the wish form.

-NoelThank you, c., for the suggestion and offer to help. I'm quite aware of making duplicate images, etc., to avoid what I boneheadedly did. I actually have an action that does the job, though I've kind of stopped using it now that Photoshop can now Save-As a Copy directly to an 8 bit JPEG from a 16 bit document. Perhaps I should resurrect it. I rarely make this kind of mistake, but it was late and I was tired. My practice of changing folders for my final sprint to the finish line saved me in this case, as I had only done one or two small things that needed redoing.
But it would have been nice to find the previous version of the file all nestled and waiting for me in the Recycle Bin.

My iPhone 5 is no longer visible to my PC via Windows Explorer
My iPhone 5 (running iOS 8.02) is no longer visible to my PC (running Windows 7) via Windows Explorer. In the past, I have been able to see the phone listed as a Device in Windows Explorer when connected via USB cable, and could navigate to the DCIM folder to see and copy photos just like any other hard driver.
Since installing iOS 8.02, the phone no longer appears in Windows Explorer.
If this is no longer possible, how can I transfer photos from iPhone to PC? I have tried clicking around in iTunes, but can't find any relevant functionality there, either - am I missing something?You're welcome. There are many blurred lines with respect to iOS 8 photo management -- i.e. is the photo actually on the device, or only in iCloud? If it is in iCloud only, and you put it into an album on the iPhone, does it get downloaded to the device and is it still full resolution?
Part of the problem may be that there are still some unfinished things with respect to photos. The "iCloud Photo Library" feature seen in pre-iOS 8 release is still in beta form, so whenever that gets full release there could be some sense in all this. There's also the pending replacement of iPhoto and Aperture on the Mac platform, slated to be replaced by a new "Photo" app, so that may play into the big picture on photo management.
But for the time being, I don't feel that the changes to photo management in iOS 8/ iCloud have been for the better. I can only hope that we get a more elegant photo management process with these pending changes. -

I just completed this task (support.apple.com/kb/HT1364) moving my music to an external HD to free up my PC hard disc and all went well until I re-opened iTunes and it is a blank new account!
I also don't can't access anything from the recycle bin as when I copied the iTunes file to the recycle bin it said it was too large to copy over so made me effectively empty as I copied over as it was so big.
Any help gratefully recieved or where I can get some, I am going round in circles. I also don't know which itunes operating system I have, it is around 3 years old.hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Deleted podcasts won't go to the recycling bin
I'm running the newest version of iTunes, freshly installed, in Windows 7. Most of my podcasts come from a backup that I dragged and dropped into my iTunes folder. I've done this before without any issues. However, now whenever I try to delete a podcast that I haven't recently downloaded, it will give me a dialog stating that the podcast won't sync if I delete it, and then the buttons "Delete Podcast" and "Cancel" Rather than the "Keep File" "Remove to Recycling Bin" and "Cancel" that I'm used to. Deleting does not send the podcast into the recycling bin as it is supposed to and as it used to, however; it instead keeps the podcast in the same file and removes the instance from iTunes. I don't want to have to delete every file twice. Selecting all files and clicking on Allow Auto Delete changed nothing. Repairing my install of iTunes did not change anything. It seems as though all other instances of this issue are many years old. Assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and system full control to this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.

I'm getting this error where, when I start Photoshop, I get a popup saying "Cannot load Photoshop because the file is locked or you don't have the needed privileges.. Use the command "Properties" in Windows Explorer to unlock the file". I unlocked it's access to everyone for the 64-bit and the 32-bit version, still doesn't work. The only way to make it work is by going in Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64-bit) and manually starting it as an administrator.
Everything was working just fine until today. Please help!If this worked before, and you have made no hardware or software changes you might want to reset the preferences.
Start photoshop and IMMEDIATELY hold down the Alt + Ctrl + shift keys. It is a little tricky but keep trying until you get a reset window. -
How can I send deleted emails to the recycle bin vs just deleting them with my eamail system?
I have a program that when I empty the recycle bin, it also wipes the allocated space to delete the files totally from the hard cleans the hard disk and gives me space. Space that I need. I get a lot of emails that are large. I don't know if deleting them with "yahoo" opens up space. But using this program with items in the recycle bin will. I have Windows 7 on one computer and windows xp on the other. I need to clean up both computers the best I can so there is space for me to install other items that are rather large sized. Please help. Thank you.
Are you talking about files from webmail? If you clear the browser cache, does that not free up some space?

You're throwing away files that either don't belong to you or are in a folder that doesn't belong to you. Since your user account has Administrator privileges, it just ask you for authentication, else it would forbid the operation.
To better understand the concept, select one of your files from your home directory and press Control-I. In the info window, check the Sharing & Permissions section at the bottom. Do the same with one of the files that asks for the password. -

I am cannot access the iTunes store via iTunes on my PC and also can not update to 10.6.3. It keeps telling me that my connection has times out and/or check my settings. There is nothing wrong with my setting. I am also having trouble with the app store on my iPhone 4s and can not update apps.

I'm editing a band by deleting songs I do not like on iTunes on my PC. When I believe I'm deleting a song it ends up deleting ALL of the songs by that band (this is after I've deleted many individual songs sucessfully)! This has happened twice since the new version of iTunes. The first time I tried to restore the songs from my recycle bin but they just vanished when I tried to restore them. The second time (today) the songs were not even in the recycle bin. Has this happened to anyone else out there? I have to now relocate all of those cd's and then reinstall them and go through them and put songs back onto various playlists (I have a lot of them). Hassle!!!

Problems renaming and batch renaming in Bridge
Hello Everyone, I am having trouble renaming files in Bridge. I am connected to my companies server but on certain folders I cannot rename files within here. The batch rename button becomes unclickablle. I have tried purging the cache for individual
