Accessing the same mail from 2 different accounts?

I have two accounts set up on my Mac: Adminstrator (under which all my email accounts live); and a separate "writing" account where I do...what else...WRITING.
Is there any way to alter the mail preferences to allow complete access to the administrator's email from the writing account? This would allow me to check/send email using the SAME email accounts from either mac account (so I'd see the same inboxes and email folders and their assorted messages).

It can (you might want to ask whomever handles your accounts if they have considered IMAP. POP is simply not as flexible. Many major email providers use it as well as private ones. Gmail, MobileMe, AOL are all IMAP.)
Set both accounts up with the same information. Go into both of them and go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and ensure that "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message" is NOT checked. Otherwise you won't get all the messages in both places.

You might need to sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf" using your Adobe ID credentials to convert your PDF file to Word.
Do you get the 'download' prompt?
Also, you can find the converted files by clicking at the 'Files' tab.
Please try the same using a different browser and check.

Accessing the same database file using different handles/cursors

Will there be any problems accessing the same database file using different DB handles in a transactional environment? We have implemented a process which have multiple transient threads coming up and initiating DB opens and read/write operations to the same database file using different handles and cursors?
Can this potentially create any problems/bottlenecks? Can someone suggest the best way to deal with this scenario?

Berkeley DB is well suited to the scenario you describe. You need to ensure that Berkeley DB is configured correctly for transactional access, the best information describing the requirements is in the Reference guide here:

If there will be multiple threads operating concurrently, then you will need to design your application to detect and deal with deadlock situations.

I'm not sure whether I understand your question. If one user changes a record then you would like other users to see those changes. Normally those changes will be visible to other users when they refresh their browser, after the first user has committed changes to the record. I you want to be sure that the same row isn't updated at the same time by to different user, you need to configure some locking (pessimistic locking) - this depends of what technology you use. In EJB3 pessimistic locking is performed by adding a version to every entity object. If you are using ADF, the framework is able to handle either pessimistic or even optimistic locking.
If you want the changed row to be updated in other users browsers without any user interaction by these users, you should take a look at Reverse Ajax (ex. DWR http://ajaxian.com/archives/reverse-ajax-with-dwr) - or Ajax in general. But you will never get a realtime solution, where changes is visible in other users browsers right after each record update.

Usually, if two users try to update the same row at the same time, you want the first to commit to succeed, and when the second commits, they should fail with the error that the row was being concurrently updated. They you may want to show them the new row values and give them the opportunity to merge their values with the new row values...

If you are using IMAP mail connection (IMAP keeps the mail on the server), then you just configure the other computer's mail client to access the same account.
If you are using a POP mail connection, then the mail is generally downloaded to your Mac and deleted from the server. That is a much more difficult problem to solve. NOTE: Google's gmail does have a POP option that does NOT delete the mail on the server, so it is accessible via the gmail web page.
A lot depends on what you are using for your mail service and whether you are using IMAP or POP protocols.

Apps can only be re downloaded using the same Apple ID they were purchased with originally.

How do I get to synchronise 3 videos of the same thing from 3 different Angles to play in a FLA and switch between them?

It's been a long time since I was on here... well here goes(I need a bit of technical help with a question if I may)
This client of wants a flash video player of a model, modeling some clothes.
They are going to set up 3 different cameras around her at the same time filming her - one from the front, one from the side and one from the back. Each clip lasts exactly 3mins and they are filming her at THE SAME TIME.
Now after this, they want to put a FLASHPLAYER on their website with the video playing in a screen with 3 buttons underneath one saying FRONT VIEW, one saying SIDE VIEW AND one saying BACK VIEW. The three separate videos will be integrated in some way with this one flash file.
The video player might start playing the FRONT VIEW first.
BUT lets say 30 seconds into the clip I press the SIDE VIEW button the video switches to the side view on 30 seconds - The side view video doesn't play right from the start. Like I said before for example if the person is speaking and says "hello there", if you switch angle by clicking one of the buttons just at the point after she has said the word "hello", you switch to the angle where he is just about to say "there". If you see what I mean.
As I said before there are 3 separate video clips:- FRONT VIEW, SIDE VIEW and BACK VIEW. Now I am not sure if these have to be embedded in the FLA file or can be contained in a separate folder on the server so that the SWF can access them. I am worry about streaming over the internet thats why I THINK Flash Media Server3 MIGHT be a solution BUT I don't know. BUT they must be seamless.
AGAIN to reiterate...LETS say I am watching the SIDE view 30 seconds after the clip has started and the model starts scatching her head and then AT THAT POINT I click the front view button below I see the model scratching her head from the front view at THAT precise moment.
So all the videos seem to work at the same time to the casual viewer/user and it looks as though you are just switching views whenever you want.
I have been looking all over the net to see if someone has produced a working example or if there is a tutorial somewhere but I have found NOTHING.
I think there might be a problem pulling this one off as each video clip could be 4-5 MB in size and if they are streaming then there would be download problems and these videos might stop due to people with various bandwidth restrictions UNLESS all the videos were integrated into the flash library and were referenced from within by Actionscript but then the resultant SWF could be HUGE.
I would really appreciate any help/suggestions here and any link to any working samples on the NET that I can download and disect at my leisure.

Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

Can I access the same library from 2 computers?

I just purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my main computer at home. Awesome tool!
I just loaded up over 25,000 pictures taken over the last 12 years and am slowly going through the task of tagging them. My question is as follows:
If install on a second computer, how do I access the library from the main computer? I am thinking that I can tag come pics during my lunch hour and get through this faster at the office but how do I move the library from one computer to the next?
I don't think the library is actually "moveable". Does it not just sort what is already on my main computer?

If your photos and catalog file are on an external HD, then you would have to bring the external HD wherever you want and PSE will work, provided that the drive letters are the same on both computers. (Example, if the external HD is E:\ on your home computer, it would have to be E:\ on the other computer).
You can move the catalog file and everything else in that folder via Windows. If you need to move the photos, this must be done in PSE (Folder Location View).

Different Risk Analysis Results with the same user from 2 different RAR

I've loaded the same Risks, Rules, etc, into 2 GRC RAR environments (Sandbox and Quality systems); both of them are connected with the same SAP ECC system. But when I do a User Risk analysis (authorization level), the result from Sandbox is different from Quality system. I donu2019t have users or roles mitigated yet, users are synchronized, rules are exactly the same and I donu2019t know what happen??... Please, help me.

If I do a Full Sync of users to the same ECC system from both RAR boxes, I got different number of users loaded (i.e. 18757 vs. 18141), similar case with the full sync of roles. (13100 vs. 13150).
If I load exactly the same set of functions to both RAR systems and I generate the rules, I got the same problem, different number of rules is generated.
I've verified both RAR configuration and they are the same (excluded users, roles mitigated, etc.)
Is it a normal behavior? What could be wrong?

Is it possible to call a function with the same name from 2 different dll's at the same time.

I'm trying to call a function ( F ) form 2 different libraries ( A.dll and B.dll ) at the same time. The first lib loaded determines the function F. A->F and B->F have same interface and name but different implementation.

I tried it with two dll's, both with the same interface, and at the same
time, in the same VI. The popups even appear at the same time.
But now I understand the problem... Both dll's are created by LabVIEW! If
they are not (or one is not, and the other is), this is no problem.
And VI's in memory cannot have the same name. LabVIEW doesn't care if VI's
are in a dll or not.
This might not help, but if you want to make some sort of "plug in" system,
you might consider using llb's. By loading VI's dynamically, you can select
the path from which they are loaded. You must unload (close all references)
one before the loading the other, or the same problem will occur. If you go
this way, I consider a different approach. Make on
e library (or even a dll)
that has the interface you like, this is the "loader". Now make several
"plug in"'s, with the same interfaces. The name of each function in a plug
in is a concatenation of the library name and the function name. The loader
has one extra function, that loads (and unloads, when done) references to
all desired libraries to use (the names of the functions can be figured out
easily). All that the loader functions do is dynamically call the library
functions. You can use a call by reference node for this (you can use the
connector pane or the loader vi, since the interface must be the same!).
If you go this way, I guess the loader library can be converted to a dll...

When using "we transfer" to send great size documents, the mail is loading more times the same mail (from Digitalus)

It happen when I use "we transfer", but also when somebody else use it to send something big to me.
I load my mail from digitalus, it stands there for 1 or 2 weeks, because I want to download the same information on several computers. Every minute of 5 minutes Thunderbird download/transfer my mail from digitalus to thunderbird. But this happen more times when I or somebody else use "we transfer". Can you do something on the program, or can I change something, so this happens not.
Because now I have finished my mail, but after I get a mail from "we transfer", I can start all over again.

iTunes accounts or Windows accounts?
You can put an iTunes library in a shared location and have two different Windows accounts connected to it. This works fine as long as you don't try to use fast user switching and leave iTunes open in the other account.
Managing purchases and application updates with multiple IDs is slightly more complex than using a single ID as you need to actively sign out of one ID and into the other, but it is certainly possible.

Importing Markers to the same track from 3 different files

Hi all,
This is a marker question:
I have about 60 minutes of video and I originally have it in 1 big file (export from FCP, then compressed with chapter marker so that they will be imported into DVDSP). I have no problem with importing the markers from FCP->Compressor->DVDSP.
I broke up 60 minute file into 3 smaller files (so that I don't have to re-export/compress the whole 60 minutes worth of material when I do revisions). However, when I try to import these 3 smaller files into the SAME track, only the first one that I import carries over the chapter marker, the 2nd and 3rd don't.
What can I do to get the remaining markers imported from the 2nd or 3rd files?
Any help appreciated!

Just figured it out: I right click on the clip and the choose "Import Embedded Markers". So that solves the problem. Just unsure why it didn't do it automatically.
