I have bought the HP Envy 4500 to use in a hotel room, where WiFi access to the Internet requires posting an email address on a web page, as a part of the access process. How do I get that web page on the display of my printer in order to find the box on the web page where I put in the email address ?

You need to connect your printer to the internet to be able to send an email to its email address. In this case, the hotel won't let the printer to connect to its network (you can't fill out a form to be able to gain access). Please check the following manual (page #19) to setup an ad hoc network:

Session Idle time and public web pages access

Hi
The idle timeout can happen when authenticated user requests only public web pages on the site (pages in notenforced_list) . Following request to the protected pages is possible only throw the annoying login page.
I need to configure AM to track access to the public web pages for authenticated users. And so, idle timeout will only possible, if authenticated user actually not sends any requests to the site.
Please give me an ideas, how it is possible.
Only one bad solution i know:
To put hidden image to the all public site pages, which is protected by policy agent. Every request to the public pages will be enforced by policy agent (throw request to the hidden image). And there is no idle timeout when authenticated user actually still active on the site.

The answer is for history:
The idle timeout can happen when authenticated user requests only public web pages on the site (pages in notenforced_list)The idle time can happend only if Policy Agent has no mapping (profile or session) attributes to the HEAD or COOKIE to the HTTP request. If at leats one attribute (profile or session) is mapped, then all work propertly. There is no Access Manager Session Idle timeout in this case.

Managing a query result through several web pages

I wonder what's the best way to manage a query result through several web
pages in the following context.
The query result is large and needs to be available through several web
pages. The user can scroll forward and backward through the pages.
One can :
- rerun the query at each web request and use random access
- run the query once for the first request, keep the pm and the query
somewhere (in a singleton class for example with a key in the HTTP
session) and use random access for handling the other requests (the
problems I see are to keep a connection for each user in this use case and
to decide when to close the previously mentioned objects)
- rerun the query at each web request, including in the filter a test on a
field and an ordering to start the results from the last one displayed
(being able to specify the maximum number of rows desired would be nice).

I think Frank's suggestion is probably the best tradeoff between memory
consumption (which would be high if you were to store the enire query
result in the session) and performance (which might be hurt if you
re-issue the query every time).
Note that Kodo 3.0 will provide a getObjectsById(Object[] ids) method
that should help in quickly instantiating a page of query results.
Query result limiting is currently under discussion for inclusion in the
JDO specification. We may have something for this in an upcoming Kodo
release (although not for 3.0).

Unable to access Workspace through Apache web server

Hi,
I have configured Hyperion 9.3.1. products in windows.
I am getting the following error message when trying to access Workspace through Apache web server(port 19000). But, able to access through Weblogic Application server(port 45000).
please assist me in resolving this issue.

I re-configured the BIPlus components and even now, i am unable to access workspace through Apache web server.
But now, i am getting a different error

I cant use my navaigation arrows to scroll smoothly through a web page, it just goes to the bottom. Work OK in IE

Until recently all I needed to do to scroll through a web page was to use my navigation arrows. Now when I hit the down arrow I go to the bottom of the web page.

You may be in Caret Browsing Mode. The F7 key toggles Caret Browsing on and off with each tap of that key.

NW Business Client and accessing SAP services via web pages

Hi all,
We currently use Business Connector to access our SAP environment via web pages. We looked at NW eSOA but decided against implementing it. Does Business Client offer anything that helps access SAP apps and data from a custom web site better the Business Connector?

I am assuming you are using SAP Business Connector in your landscape to connect to back end SAP systems from your web applications. Your question now is that if business client can let you access SAP data for your web pages instead of the business connector. Point to not here is that Business client, as the name implies, is just a client with single point of access for SAP screens. That means, you can access traditional SAP transactions, WebDynpro screens, BSP pages, Portal screens etc in one single client. In very raw terms, Business client acts (or replaces) as your browser. It is not going to provide you any out of the box integration with backend system rather just act as a window. You options at this point are
1) Use your existing webpages but instead of getting data from the backend system through business connector, get the data using webservices.
2) Use PI as middleware tool and get the data from backend SAP system
3) Stay were you are but deal with high cost of ownership.

Limited Access - can't load web pages

Although I am connected to the internet, web pages won't load. Trouble-shooting, it says I have "limited access" (I've tried both hard wire and Wife - same deal, no go).
Thought it might be my ISP, so I was on the phone with AT&T support and we ran tests and ping showed packets going out and coming in normally, and I can connect to the online game I play, but websites will not load. No home page, no E-mail, nada.
I am not a computer geek, so I have limited know-how.

Interesting that AT&T support could not help. When that problem happens, it could be a virus or some malware. It can also be caused by your antivirus software - imagine that. But first try resetting the stack. SEE HERE for a dicussion. The reset in the last section applies to Windows 7 also.

Safari can not access any secure (HTTPS) web pages

Does anyone have an idea why a good frined of mine using Safari 1.3.2 on a Power Book G4 with Mac OS 10.3.9 can not access any secure web pages (those that start with HTTPS)? I can not find any preferences that might control this. She can access the pages with IE but not Safari. What setting on her computer might control this? Any ideas would be appreciated. I even through away (com.apple.Safari.plist) file. Not change. An ideas??

I have the same problem! However, this is ONLY while running wireless internet. Anytime I want to use an HTTPS site, I have to plug directly into my router, so I'm not wireless anymore, and then it works fine. Every now and then (like maybe 5% of the time), I get lucky and it will work for a short while such as logging into yahoo mail for example (logging into here didn't work at first but after waiting a bit, i was able to log in), but trying to stay on a secure connection such as a bank accnt. is impossible.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Everyone I've asked says they've never had the problem. I thought I was the only one.
I checked my proxy settings -- nothing is checked. I've tried deleting preferences and I reset safari often.

Since upgrading to FF6 and now through FF7 web pages need repeated refreshing to load this does not happen with other browsers. I have tried many solutions. None have worked. Any ideas?

Problem began after a Firefox 6 update (i do not remember which one) and has continued through current use of Firefox 7.0.1. Almost all '''web pages load only through repeated refreshing'''. If I do not refresh the web page it will just continue to try to load (as seen by the green rotating ring continually revolving) in a new window with a new tab (as I have set it to do). Nothing stops, nothing crashes. Once the web page completes and opens (after the refreshings) I can close the window click on the bookmark icon or originating link and the web page will load and open quickly (as it should). I have searched for solutions on the Mozilla site and have done many of the possible solutions (deleting history and caches, etc.) Problem seems to be communication in origin (my FF browser talking to web page server). I do not use a proxy. My set up to the internet is: laptop thru Verizon USB modem to internet. Operates as a wireless dial-up with speeds averaging 55 kbs (fast enough for me). I have used this set up for years with no previous trouble. Anyone have similar trouble, ideas or solutions?

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

But they soon removed that functionality. Can you guess why?
Because people were using the File/IO classes to easily steal or remove files on the harddrive, among other such niceties. You do NOT want to have such control from a web application. People will abuse it.

Permission to access iMac.local/~MyUser web pages

I have an iMac with a client configuration and am running Lion OS X.
I've turned on the Web Server to share web pages. I can successfully accesss pages on the main web page site: iMac.local, located at Library/WebServer/Documents. I cannot accesss pages from my own user location: iMac./local/~Ron, located at Ron/Sites directory. I get a 403 Forbidden message that says:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /~Ron/phpinfo on this server.
The file should send back a phpinfo() table but the sample index.html file gives the same Forbidden message.
Can someone please tell me how to get this to work?

Yes, PHP is enabled. I can get the phpinfo table just fine from the Mac.local location but not from my own Mac.local/~Ron location. That's the problem I'm trying to resolve.
You're right, I forgot the .php extention in my previous message. But when I use it, it still does not give me access to the file. I can't access the index.html "Welcome" file either. Seems like an access problem unrelated to PHP.

I'm jealous that others get this to work so easily. I'm a newcomer to the MAC and am paying my dues...

My ipad suddenly blocks all wi-fi access with this notice: "Web Page Blocked"

I've ensured my time is on auto, have reset setting, etc. but nothing works to-date. Here's the full error notice I receive: "Web Page Blocked. An error ocurred while trying to rate the website using the web filtering service. Web filter service error: invalid licence" This isn't about a specific site--I won't allow wi-fi to connect. Any way to disable, stop, etc. this process?

That sounds like you have a web filtering service configured in your network or router and the license to use the service has expired. Reconfigure your router to remove use of this filter.

LoanDemo: Problem accessing LoanFlowUI and StarLoanUI Web-pages

Hello,
I recently installed Oracle BPEL Process Engine 10.1.3.1.0.
I deployed the LoanDemo and some of the other Demos.
I could initialte the LoanFlow BPEL Process using the BPEL Console. The process runs fine up to the StarLoan Service.
I tried to start the StarLoanUI to complete the process, but the page does not show up (http://localhost:9700/StarLoanUI/) (I get a 404 page not found).
The web-page to initiate the LoanFlow cannot be found ether (http://localhost:9700/LoanFlowUI/Homepage.html)
I guess I just forgot to deploy something or to start the web-application with the JSP pages, but I could not find out what did wrong.
Could you please give me a hint.

Thanks for the help.
I could deploy StarLoan and LoanFlowPlusUI as you suggested.
The strange thing is, that there is no build.xml file in the LoanDemo\LoanFlowUI folder I downloaded with the newest BPEL Process Manager.
After deploying the application I still can't see the web-pages (e.g. http://localhost:9700/LoanFlowPlusUI). In the log I see that the jsp should be loaded from the following location, but the pages are not there:
C:\oracle\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_
1\bpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\default-web-app\
When starting StarLoanUI I get the following exception in the console:

Access Views through Public Synonyms

Hi Friends,
I have query need to clear. My current application is running on a schema *(s1)* associated with workspace *(w1)*. Now i have made one more schema *(s2)* in the same workspace *(w1)* where i have to create new tables.
The thing is i want to use few tables column of s1 on s2. What will be the best practice for this. I have made views of columns of s1 schema and now i am thinking to create public synonym in s2 schema to access those views of s1 schema. Just want to confirm any changes or updates made on forms or report made on synonym of s2 will reflect in the base table (which is table of s1). Want to clear the concept of synonym through this. I am sure it will not update the table of s1 schema because i have made synonym of that in my s2 schema and for all page creation i am using objects of s2 not objects of s1.
Would like to hear from you experts on this. If you have some other better soln for this, do suggest me. All my intension is to not update the tables of s1, just to use the required columns of s1 schema objects and use it in s2 schema

Hi,
A synonym just helps you to avoid using the schema name before the object name. If you want to use some columns from tables in s1 just do the following:
1. Create the views
2. Create a role for that privilege (for example: select_s1_role), grant select to this role over the views and assign it to s2.
3. Create the synonym in s2 to s1 views (just to avoid put s1. before the view name).
For the steps above is required that s1 and s2 have the proper system privileges.
