Accidental App Purchase

No one will help me in regards to a refund. I accidentally purchased an app and initially I submitted it as an unauthorized purchase. I cannot get any help! I'm not sure what to do. I just recently lost my job and I cannot sacrifice the $7.50 cost for the accidentally purchased app.

A refund may not be possible since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
It's possible they'll make an exception for you.
Good luck.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

My daughter accidentally purchased something from an in app purchase, I haven't got the £2.99 in my account until tuesday, and do not want the in app purchase, my account wont log in now even to download free apps. How do I get my account to log in again and function properly, I shouldn't have to wait until I have a meagre £2.99 in my account again do I because I need the app store for other apps etc and updating, even if it is only 3 days I want my account back, I do not want nor did I give permission for the in-app purchase and would be happy for it to be returned/credited back so I can have MY account available for my IPhone.
Please can someone give me more information or let me know how else I can get my account working again, before pay day on tuesday.
    Much appreciated, Paddy.

  • HT4009 Accidental in-app purchase

My little cousin accidentally made an in-app purchase on my phone of a rather large amount. Other than reporting a problem to the itunes store, is there anything else i can/need to do in order to get this removed?

    No.
    All sales are final.
You would need to ask itunes support for an exception and hope they grant it.

  • App purchased accidentally. Who do I contact to get a refund

My ten year old daughter who had a learning disability had a snow day yesterday and decided it was ok to use my iPad.  She downloaded an app that said free in the title but it was actually $ 99.99. I was wondering if there was anyway to get a refund on it.

The app may have been free to download, but quite a few then allow in-app purchases to be made within them e.g to unlock features and/or levels. You can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
You can also turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off', and depdending upon what version of iOS that you have on it you may also have a Require Password setting onthe Restrictions screen which you can set to 'Immediately' (the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need to be re-entered).

  • HT4009 Accidental In-App Purchase - Howto cancel ?

    Hello Everyone...
my nephew was over for a visit and he started playing with my ipad. Since this is not happening regularly I didn't activate restrictions on this device. After I downloaded this game for him the password remained active. Within this period he managed to perform an In-app purchase (he cannot even read) of $99.90.
I failed to contact the app developer. I failed to get apple support (issue cannot be helped at the current moment, try again later)
Does anybody know if there is a way to cancel this purchase other than blocking the transaction on my credit card?
    Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My 5 year old did the same thing!  In the new iOS6, it automatically fills in your password.  I hope someone has an answer!!

  • HT201303 How do I keep my child from accidentally purchasing in-app purchases?

Please help!  My son accidently purchased 150.00 worth of coins on a free app.
    1.  How do I keep this from happeneing again?
    2.  Does Apple help refund this mistake?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can turn off in app purchases in settings> general> restrictions.
Apple's policy on sales of digital content is that all sales are final. If however you wish to appeal to Apple, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.

  • How to refund for the in-app-purchase of Subway Surfer? thanks a lot

Someone had used my apple account to purchase a total of HKD 398+798 (in-app-purchase) of subway surfer. May I refund ?

I can see there are so many cases of accidental purchase @ in-app-puchase. This is a kind of cheating apple customers.. Must be stopped with immediate effect and who ever want to purchase something s/he shold be asked to inserrt all payment details as and when required and confirm as we normally do for all other online purchases...

  • How to get a refund of In-App Purchase in iPad?

My son was playing around with my iPad and accidentally purchased the Color and Mixer tool in Paper by FiftyThree application on my iPad.
I can get a refund for any APP purchased through the App Store from my iTunes Purchase History, but, when I click 'Report A Problem' on the 'Paper by FiftyThree, Color', it direct me to a link to the iTunes Support page.
How can I get my refund, each costs $1.99 which is important for me.

Apple's policy states that, "all sales are final" > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
But, if you are having issues with the app, you can at least ask for a refund.

  • In app purchase via iMob app for $99.99

I have read a lot of parents feeling scammed by in app purchases made by their own kids or young relatives.  I am writing because this happened to me as well when my 7 year old made a virtual purchase through an app that was downloaded for free.  I am feeling quite furious why an app would even offer a virtual item for more than a dollar if it is not meant to scam young kids?  Why will it not ask for a credit card number or password, when it actually will translate to actual dollars being transacted?  How could this even be a legal game that iTunes or Apple allow and risk damaging their reputation?  This is a clear scam, no matter what people say.  Developers are clearly targetting kids who they know are using their parents iPhone to while time away or to enjoy the games offered for free.  Who would know that allowing your kids to play on your iphone will actually cost you real money when you are not giving them your password or credit card?  This is not about parents or adults being stupid or irresponsible.  This is about developers scheming to victimize kids who will not know that it's real money they are playing with when it's a free app during the time of download.  Can anyone help me how to get credit back on unauthorized in app purchases?  How do you contact iTunes or Apple and get a quick action on this?  Thank you for the advice.  Please beware of the iMob 2 app.  This is a scam app.

    Hi Dave,
I went to the link that you provided and it's the one that finally went through.
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
I've got the response back from iTunes in exactly 16 minutes after I received the email confirmation (of my complaint).  I will get my money back, thank goodness.  I have spent so much time looking into resolving this and I found out that all my efforts since last night wouldn't lead me to anything because I am missing some extra steps. When I went to the link and clicked on the applicable choices for my issue, until I finally submitted my message, I was finally able to get an automatic email confirmation from iTunes (meaning, my message was actually received because I completed the whole process properly, sigh!).  I received a very pleasant and personal email from an iTunes staff and informed me about the steps to avoid in app purchases by my child in the future and most of all, that I will be getting back my money from this accidental purchase (I still view it as a mischievous scheme by the developer) within 5 days.  Thanks for the quick response iTunes/Apple customer service staff!

  • Restoring iPod & In-App Purchases

I have the $15 +Xewton Music Studio+, and I bought a few instruments for it. They were in-app purchases. If I ever had to restore my iPod (to factory settings, not from a backup), would it delete these purchases? Or would they be backed up on the computer? Or something else? Please help.
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the discussions,
apps are not part of the backup made by iTunes, see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
I guess the difference is, that an In-app-purchase is "only" the data allowing you to use certain features of a certain app and not a new application itself.
you say you "guess" - is there no definite information on this subject ?
...To download an In App Purchase again, you must download it from within the installed app using the same iTunes Store account name for the original In App Purchase.
Fair 'nuff, but that could mean "if you accidentally delete in App purchases". According to the earlier article, it seems quite clear that in App purchases are being backed up, don't you agree ?
    This is very confusing ...

  • HT4009 how can I re-download in app purchases?

I downloaded, Paper by FiftyThree, and purchased the essentials kit within the app, but I accidentally deleted the app. How can I restore the add-ons? Or will I be charged if I attempt to download them again?

    Hey Luciibaba!
