Accidental sync!! Help!!
I just got an iPhone... as in, I got back from the Verizon store about 20 minutes ago. When I got home, I plugged my phone into my computer (a MacBook Pro), expecting to upload my iTunes library to my phone. Instead, iTunes treated my iPhone as my iPod Touch and synced my phone to my most recent back-up of my iPod, erasing all of the contacts that the people at Verizon had so helpfully transferred, changing my wallpaper, erasing my text messages (even though I only had 2 or so, it's still annoying) and starting a download of the iPhone software that I started out with because iTunes got rid of that and put on the old iPod software.
So, my question is, is there any way that I can reverse this?? It's going to be a huge nuisance to type in all 300-some of my contacts by hand and rework everything to the way I'd set it up, not to mention the 35 minutes remaining until the software downloads.

Nope. It's pretty much done. Just FYI. Everyone I know who has gone to Verizon and had the helpful people there transfer their contacts have ended up with such a convoluted mess of contact information that they ended up wiping them out and re-entering all of them on their computer, then syncing them over to the phone. Names were in the wrong fields (last name in first name field, etc), multiple contact entries when you only need 1 with multiple numbers. Stuff like that.
It seems like a pain to have to do it right now, but if you actually had 300 contacts or more, it would have been a pretty short time before you realized you were going to have to re-do them all anyway if you wanted them right.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

I accidentally synced my iphone 4s to my sisters computer and now my computer won't recognise it and allow me to download music and photos etc. Is tehre some simple settign In need to do to allow my compuetr to recognise my iphone again?
Connect to your computer, start iTunes, right click on your phone in the device list, choose "backup". iTunes will perform a manual backup without syncing your phone.
After that sync your phone, iTunes will erase the content, but you can use the manual backup to restore from afterwards. -
Can I restore my device to *before* accidental sync?
To make this question more clear, I'll start at the beginning. Today, I was planning on preparing a party mix for my birthday this weekend. I was going to add some songs to my library and then plug in my iPod touch to transfer the new songs and the mix after it was ready to go. I opened iTunes on my computer (the same computer I have synced with my device several times before--but hadn't done so for quite a while prior to today). Before I even allowed the sync, I quickly noticed my iTunes library was empty! (minus the handful of new songs I had just downloaded, using my computer not my iPod touch)
I had a minor heart attack. Hoping the 500+ songs on my device hadn't *vanished* too, I looked at my device to see all of the songs still there. I have no idea why my iTunes library on my computer is empty (missing those 500+ songs) but I did get an error message when I connected my device. Sorry, I cannot recall word-for-word but it was a message stating that my device was already synced with different iTunes library. I thought ***?! because I have ONLY synced my device with THIS computer, so how can that be? I looked under Properties to see when my iTunes was last updated and it says November 16, 2011. I can't be certain but I may not have synced my iPod with my computer since before that last update. So I am wondering if it was possibly the update that wiped out my library? Not sure if this is even possible but what other possible explanations could there be?
To make matters worse, I didn't think it would hurt to transfer my iPod purchases (purchases I made on my device in iTunes app) to my computer iTunes library. BIG MISTAKE! After this, I disconnected my device and took it into the bathroom with me so I could listen to music while I showered. This is when I discovered I have now have NO MUSIC CONTENT on my device. I am kind of freaking out because I am thinking about all the time I have spent organizing my playlists and getting all of my favorite artists/songs...now I have nothing, EXCEPT for what's in my iTunes library now. I am afraid to sync my device yet because I wanted to do some digging and find out if there is any way I might possibly be able to restore my iPod to before this "accidental sync" that wiped everything off my device.

Not very likely, even with the use of recovery software. If the content that was on your iPod is not in your iTunes library, then it looks like you may be out of luck. Sorry.

hello i accidentally synced all my photos from Iphoto and they doubled, i removed them all eventually to re-import them again, but i have no camera folder anymore and i have a folder called "From Mac" how can i turn it back to normal?

I accidentally synced my new iPhone 5 as an existing phone and not as a new one on my itunes account when registering it. I lost some very special videos I had taken of my son. Can those be retrieved somehow?
If you had content on your phone before syncing it, then no matter whether you set it up as new or as an existing, you would have lost the data that was on the phone.
If, when you connected the iPhone to iTunes you ran a backup before restoring from the previous device, your data may have been saved in that backup. You can check in iTunes and see if there is a backup there. Also, the only way to get that back is to restore to that backup. However, make sure you do not backup the phone in the condition is in now, because that will overwrite the backup that is there. Check the date and time of the backup in iTunes and see if it is before you did the setup. -

That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...
