If it's from a local Apple Store, you would have to call them and ask. If it's from Apple's online store, you only can from the refurbished section. Otherwise, you'll have to look on other retailer's websites to find and order them.

Adding photos from iphoto to ipod nano 6th generation

I want to take photos from iphoto (mac os x 10.6.8) and put them on my ipod nano 6th generation. I can't find anything on itunes that mentions photos and my ipod doesn't show up in iphoto or applications.

Thanks. I followed through with those instructions. Now when I go to sync, I don't want everybody else's music to show up on my ipod. How do I sync? And if I check sync only checked songs, will it sync ALL checked songs? We have alot of songs, but I don't want all of them. How can I manually sync?

The problem may have been in how you transfered it. You didn't go into much detail. Just be sure to follow the steps in the tutorial below. Note Paragraph 5.
Many libraries worldwide now use Overdrive Media Console, which comes in Mac an Windows versions http://www.overdrive.com/Software/omc . Some find the mobile device transfer process confusing. To load or delete a WMA or MP3 (Macs can only download MP3 books) audiobook onto an Apple mobile device see the "How to Transfer to a Portable Device" video in the guides at Step 7, then do the following.
1. For Windows versions, you must first do a security update of Windows Media Player (even though you won't be using it) using Internet Explorer at http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite .
2. Open iTunes, plug the mobile device into the computer USB port and open the Overdrive Media Console.
3. Highlight the mobile device in the left hand menu of iTunes and insure the "Manually manage music and videos" box is checked in the Summary Tab. If the mobile device storage is full, transfering will delete that portion of music necessary for the ebook.
4. Highlight the book you want to transfer in the Overdrive Media Console and click the Transfer Button. A window opens permitting you to click the boxes for parts of the book you wish to transfer.
5. After the book has been transfered, when you click the disclosure triangle (arrow) to the left of the iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes, MP3 books will show up under the Music subsection and WMA books will show up in the Books subsection. Once the mobile device is disconnected from iTunes, MP3 books will show up in the Songs list of the mobile device and WMA books will show up in the Books list.
6. To remove a book from a mobile device plug the device into the USB port and open iTunes. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes so that you can see the device’s subcontents. For an MP3 book select the Music subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete. For a WMA book, select the Book subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.
7. The Overdrive Media Console Guided Tour (videos) is at http://www.overdrive.com/Solutions/Libraries/tour/MenuWelcome.html . The "Portable Devices" and "How to Transfer to a Portable Device" videos are there.
8. To find a nearby library for ebooks search http://search.overdrive.com . You can download the software, search for books and see tutorials without an account at the website of any library that uses Overdrive, however, you need a library card to download books. At this library site, for example, the software and guided tour are at the bottom of the left hand menu.

You would have to grind it out but it is doubtful there is enough metal left for that without damaging the iPod.

My son got a nano 6th generation for christmas 2010 and brought it to me the other day because the screen would not turn on. I plugged it into itunes and it was there, all songs were still on it. I tried to trouble shoot the device after unplugging it by holding down the negative volume button and the sleep button for 10 seconds. I repeated the steps but nothing happened. I plugged it back into itunes and restored the device to original settings. Still no display. Will Apple exchange the device if it has not been 12 months since date of purchase? Please advise. Since your iPod is still under the 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects, I would take it in to your local Apple Store/Genius bar and see if they'll replace it, which they should as long as they determine the cause its not from accidental damage or use.

How do I play all tracks on an album sequentially on iPod nano 6th generation ?

I have an ipod nano 6th generation. I want to play all tracks on an album sequentially (as if I was playing a CD) without having to select each one in turn. On my ipod nano it repeats the same song and wont move to the next one automatically. can anyone help ?

The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen. While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

My Ipd Nano 6th generation isn't recognized by my computer or iTunes. I've followed all the troubleshooters and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes numerous times. I've checked for legacy software under device manager but I keep getting error 10.

My Ipod Nano 6th generation is no longer recognized by iTunes & my computer. I did all troubleshooting steps. After checking for changes and reinstalling legacy software in device manager I keep getting an error 10 message (device can't start). My device is charging when I plug it in and is otherwise still functioning normally. Can anyone help me please?

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

My Nano 6th generation will turn on fine, and will play music when the ear buds are plugged it. It also will charge when connected to either my computer, my car dock or an ihome dock. However, it will not be recognized by any of those medias when plugged it. I-tunes will not sync or recognize my ipod when puggled in, when it is plugged into my car port it says "no line in" and when in the i-home it just won't play.
I have tried reseting it with no lock, have tried to it in disk mode, but have been unsuccessful.
The support person I spoke suggested that I restore the ipod software thru itunes, but I can't even try that because my itunes/computer isn't detected my ipod when it is plugged in.
I have also tried "shoving it in real good" as the support tech suggested. No luck.
Any ideas?

This came from another thread, but worked for me. Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62. Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update). Reboot, and reinstall iTunes. It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano. Good luck.

Nano 6th generation - shuffle reset to song 1 after turning off

I listen to my Nano 6th generation while commuting. I have shuffle on and it works fine during the week, when it just goes to sleep overnight. But over the weekend, with a more than two day break, it turns itself off. When I start it again it's on the song it was about to play before the weekend, but it's back at song 1 of xxx. This definitely didn't happen with my previous iPod - an old 1st generation Nano. Is this a feature or a bug?

From what others have stated, it seems to be a feature of the device.

Nano 6th Generation Sync'ing problems

How do I sync my ITunes library from my computer with windows 7, to my replacement ipod nano. When I plug the nano into the computer the nano says sync'ing for about 3 seconds but does not upload any of my songs or books. The ipod then goes to the message "Connected, eject before disconnected".
How do I get my iTunes library onto my new replacement nano 6th generation.
