Accidentally deleted a konqueror profile

Hey,
I accidentally deleted a konqueror profile ("Simple Browser").
I want to restore it.
Anyone knows how to do that?
Thanks
Fiod

you could try reinstalling konqueror, pacman won't usually overwrite files but will replace default configs which have been deleted by the user.

  • I accidentally deleted my firefox profile on OS X. My bookmarks, usernames, passwords - all gone. Used data recovery software...

Data recovery software called Data Rescue 3. It seemed to have brought up many deleted files. I sifted through as many as I could. I have removed the ones that are .pdf, etc. and obviously not related to firefox.
The folder & files I recovered:
    1) SQLite - I have many files called SQ00001.db, SQ00002.db, etc. I don't know if these are the user names or passwords or what? They are in a folder called SQLite. If I click on this nothing happens.
    2) There are files under misc called login-0001.keychain - Are these passwords, usernames?
    3) Web Bookmarks - Files called Bookmarks00001.plist. If I click on this it opens up in text edit and I can see some books randomly throughout.
    4) Mozilla - Only on file called bookmarks-00001.html
    5) There are many other files one in text ending in htm. and plist.
    6) Some other files called DS_Store-00001, etc.
    7) Also some files called embed.default.js.gz (under Archives folder and ZIP). I don't know what this is.
I tried to recover the files... I don't know what to do with them. Obviously some files might be useless. If I could get the usernames saved that would mean everything to me. Literally. I have all my work on there... :(
I could look up other files specifically, please just let me know. Running OS X 10.6.8.
A lot of questions said use data recovery, I've read and read and am truly stuck. What do I do with these files? How do I get my username and profile info back. There is no file called .ini or 12345678.default. (example).
Please, please, please help. Thank you.

For passwords, look for 2 files key3.db and signons.sqlite
For usernames saved in form fields, look for formhistory.sqlite
    Bookmarks are in places.sqlite
For descriptions of each profile file, read:
<br> [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data#w_what-information-is-stored-in-my-profile|What information is stored in my profile?]]

  • Accidently deleted the default profile-wher to find old bookmarks to restore?

I accidentally deleted the default profile while try to delete a username for a website, which was memorized by Firefox. On a Mac OSX, where do I find the bookmarks file that was in use before deleting the default profile. I have to restore the bookmarks or at the minimum, gat a list of those with their url so that I can make new.

You are on Mac OS X 10.4, so you do not have the Time Machine that more recent versions have. If you did remove the entire [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and do not have a backup of that folder then all your personal data including the bookmarks is gone.

  • Accidentally deleted firefox "profiles.ini" and now says firefox is already running when I try to open it.

Accidentally deleted firefox "profiles.ini" and now says firefox is already running when I try to open it. "a copy of firefox is already open. only one copy of firefox can be open at one time. Now I'm aware this happens often and people have posted solutions to this, but this situation is slightly different. The "profiles" that possibly had parental lock on it were deleted and I don't know how to get it back. Re-downloading firefox obviously does nothing. Opening the task manager and to try and close all mozilla/firefox files and apps doesn't work either. Tried using Onyx to turn invisible files visible but that didn't work either. I think it's cause I deleted the profiles. Suggestions?

Any chance of restoring that profiles.ini file via the Time Machine?

If not then you need to use the Profile Manager to re-register that no longer recognized profile.<br />
You do that by creating a new profile and use Choose Location to point the your lost profile.

  • I accidentally deleted the "profiles" link. How do I get it back?

I accidentally deleted the "profiles" link (found in system preferences) from my computer. It is not on my computer anywhere anymore since I emptied the trash. Is there anyway I can download that specific tool?

If you download/open a .mobilconfig file, that Profiles setting in System Preferences will re-appear. So, contact your IT dept about geting new files/file.

  • System won't boot after accidentally deleting /private/var/folder

My Macbook Air is running OS 10.9 Mavericks, and I accidentally deleted the /var folder after seeing it taking lots of GB's from my storage.
Safari, Mail and a lot of applications f'ed up itself, like safari saying it couldn't connect to the folder.
I tried to put those folders back, and it gave me an Unauthorized Caller alert. I tried doing it again, and the folders froze, but I can still move my mouse. I restarted my computer by holding power 7 seconds, and tried to restart.
Somehow, I saw the grey Apple logo startup screen, heard that startup chime, and 10 seconds later, it shut down. I tried doing it again many times, but to no avail.

So I used installation DVD and restored my previous backup of the system by using the TM. After that the Mac booted and now all I get is folder with a question mark? Now what....?
your profile suggests that you are running Tiger. if that is so, you shouldn't even be able to use time machine (introduced with Leo).

Sorry to hear that the Bluetooth data/profiles may have been deleted from your phone. Accidents happen!
oznaw, to be honest, I believe you will need to perform a master reset in order to recover the missing Bluetooth data, as there is nothing really available in the Play Store that just updates the Bluetooth profiles/data. Let us know if you have any additional questions, or if you found an alternative. Thank you oznaw.

  • I accidentally deleted the tab marked "older than 6 months" on the history for firefox how do I fix it?

I was trying to view the history on FireFox and I accidentally deleted the tab for "older than 6 months" how do I get it back? or will it come back on its own? someone please help.

Additionally If you have Sync or any other form of backup, you can try to restore the history. You can also try to restore an older '''places.sqlite''' in the Firefox profile directory: '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Info''' > '''Show Folder'''.

  • Accidentally deleted system component via terminal

While playing around with Terminal, I accidentally deleted a file within the ~/.MacOSX/environment DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES folder.
Now my computer refuses to login, and shows a pinwheel when I try.
I tried to reinstall Lion (keeping my current profile). However, there was no effect.
Is there any way to fix this, or is my only recourse to try and wipe the computer and do a clean install?

Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • I accidentally deleted Mavericks on Apple account how can I retrieve Mavericks

    Hi,
When I was re-downloading Mavericks from my Apple Account I accidentally deleted Mavericks.  Is there anyway I can retrieve this upgrade for my Mac Mini?
Proof of purchase is in my ITunes account.
    Thank you
    rachealfromva

    Racheal,
When did you download Mavericks?  Sounds like you have not installed it since your profile information still shows Mac OS X 10.6.8.
If you did not install Mavericks previously, the problem you are now having is that Mavericks is no longer available.  Only users that already have it installed can redownload, those are the only ones that the Purchase tab shows the download as being available.  You might try calling 1-800-MY-APPLE and explain that you had downloaded and accidentally deleted and would like to download again.  See if they will make an exception.
This has been a tough subject for a number of users lately as Apple decided to remove Mavericks from the Mac OS X options for those not already running it.  Lion, Mountain Lion (both available for purchase from the on-line store), and Yosemite are the only options now.

  • Help!  Accidentally deleted my phone # from iMessage

    Hello
I accidentally deleted my phone number from iMessage and now it only shows my email address. I have re entered my number in my Apple profile and no luck. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?  I'm new to the iPad but this has been a nightmare. Thank you!

If the backup of your old phone is no longer in iCloud, there is no way to recover it.

  • Lock finder sidebar to prevent accidental deletion

Somehow I occasionally drag an item from the Finder sidebar thus deleting it. Is there any way to lock the sidebar to prevent accidental deletions. I want to still be able to unlock it to add or remove items.

It appears you have been using Apple computers for a while (according to your profile), so you most likely already know that when things get accidentally dragged off the Finder sidebar, they are not actually deleted. All items in the sidebar are only aliases, and still reside where you originally saved them.
Like I say, I bet you already know that.
As to your question, I did a quick Google search for "apple finder sidebar lock" and found a bunch of hits (including this post). Since you are the one with the question, I'll let you do the looking. Or maybe one of the resident geniuses will know.
    Good luck.

  • Accidentally deleted APM Run As Account

    Hey
While deleting some test Run As accounts, I accidentally deleted the APM Run As Account that gets automatically created. Is there a way to restore this account? I was going to try and re-create it, but I never entered any credentials for it.
In my test environment, I installed APM and noticed that the account gets created once you start monitoring an application. The credentials for the account are a Binary Account File type with encrypted binary data.
Any suggestions with how I should proceed?
    Thanks!

Fixed the issue. Here's what I had to do:
    1. Delete the Run As PROFILE (entitled 'APM CSM Encryption Profile') that was looking for the deleted Run As "APM Account" (pictured above). Once I deleted it that action propagated to all the clients to stop looking for that account to authenticate
as. I believe this is due to the nature of the account (See: Distribution tab: Less Secure - distributes to ALL managed computers).
    2. Once that profile was deleted, all the alerts entitled: "System Center Management Health Service Credentials Not Found Alert Message" were closed.
    3. To get the account & profile back, all I had to do was the following: I noticed in my test lab that the APM account and APM CSM Encryption profile get created NOT when you import the APM management back, but once you SETUP your first .NET Application
to monitor. After the setup of an application to monitor, those accounts get created and linked together. Since I already had a production APM monitor set up, all I had to do was open the properties of the .NET application from the Management Pack Templates
view, and click Apply again. It sat there for a few moments processing the completion (one of the tasks obviously is creating those accounts if they do not exist), and then the wizard closed. Once closed, I verified the account and profile were created and
watched the OpsMgr Event log populate as it propagated this account to all managed computers.
Hope this helps someone if they encounter this in the future!

  • I just accidentally deleted my Adblock Plus, (which had my own customize blocking rules) is it possible to restore this ???

    Hi, Arrgh.. help!!
So I just accidentally deleted my Adblock Plus, (which had my own customize blocking rules) is it possible to restore this ??? (i'm blaming it on my strawberry yogurt.. for distracting me cause it was so good.....*note to self.....do not eat strawberry yogurt while on computer.) ..sigh!
It does seem that i still have a "adblockplus" file that is in my firefox profile files (though i guess that could be the file for the "Element Hiding Helper extension for Adblock Plus" which wasn't deleted.)
. . .i would very much like to restore it, as i mentioned above i had many of my own customized blocking rules, along with rogue antivirus/security/software, phishing, malvertising, malware blocklist, etc..
In the mean time i'm going to copy those "adblockplus" files that are in my firefox profile files (that i mentioned above) ..in a zip file on my desktop in case it goes missing, and go to "Adblock Plus" and add it along with a few of it's blocking rules for now.

Hi Teagan, were you able to recover your rules?
Many times, when you remove an extension, its preferences are left behind, so there's a good chance that reinstalling the extension will enable you to recover them. OR, it may reset them, which would be the opposite of what you want.
Could you provide any advice for future users who have this question?
