Accidentally deleted back button on safari

I accidentally deleted the back button in the left hand corner of my safari. HOW DO I GET IT BACK.

Go to the View menu, then Customize Toolbar. Locate the back button and drag it back into the toolbar where you'd like it.

  • I somehow deleted my "back" button in Safari. How do I get it back?

    Two issues: 1st: I want to know how to take a snapshot of something on my desktop.
    2nd: In trying to remember how to take a snapshot I was just pushing buttons, willy-nilly, and somehow deleted my "back" button in Safari.  How do I get that back?

    It's not on my keyboard (that I know of).  It's an arrow on the bar at the top of my safari screen.  I'm supposed to be able to click the arrow to either go back to the previous page or go forward to the next page.  But I deleted it somehow.  And now I don't know how to get it back.  I found a solution in someone else's post: Safari, View, Customize Tool Bar.  I tried to do that but it doesn't work for me.  I dragged the back arrows to my tool bar but they won't stay up there. What do I do now?

    Go back into Quiz, Preferences, Pass or Fail. Uncheck 'Retake button' and check it again, it will reappear on the Score slide.

    Cheryl...
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Move the Cache.db (or ApplicationCache.db) file from the com.apple. Safari folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac. Launch Safari. Try the back button.
    ~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.

  • I accidentally deleted the applications: Mail, Safari

    I accidentally deleted the applications: Mail, Safari & iTunes from the launchpad. I also emptied the trash by accident.
    Is there a way to reinstall these applications without reinstalling the Mac OS X?
    Will upgrading to Mountain Lion resolive my problem?
    What is the best solution?
    Thank You,

    If Spotlight is unable to locate your apps, use the install disc that came with your computer to custom install.  On screen directions will guide you.  Once this is done, use Software Update to update Safari, iTunes and Mail if necessary.

  • Can't click back button in Safari on Iphone

    I'm not sure at which update this began, but I recently realized I can't use the back button in Safari. It just stays dimmed, when normally once you navigate to a new page it illuminates and then you can use it to go back. This is very annoying. Any suggestions?

    Johnster .....
    I am getting the same icon that you are getting whether I use mobile Safari or iCab Mobile identified as Firefox or even if I identity it as mobile Safari. I wonder if that means perhaps the podcasts was not created correctly. However, I know absolutely nothing about creating a podcast.
    You obviously have been doing this successfully up until this point, but by virtue of the fact that I am getting the "No Plugin" icon in both browsers - whether viewing as a desktop browser or a mobile browser, I simply assume that there is a problem with the podcast.
    The podcast plays fine in my desktop Safari on my MacBook.
    Just so that you know, the preinstalled apps are only updated when the iOS is updated. There are never updates released for Safari, iTunes, the App Store and so on, except for the features that may be added when the iOS is updated.

  • No back button in safari

    Help! I no longer have a back button in safari (no page forward button either). I only have the + (add bookmark) button to the left of my url bar. All windows in Safari open without the < & > buttons...
    Any counsel would be appreciated.

    Greetings,
    Go to View > Customize Toolbar… and add those buttons back to the menu bar.

  • Accidentally deleted History folder in Safari on IPad 4.

    I must have accidentally deleted the History folder from the Bookmarks/Favorites bar in Safari (iPad 4) and I currently have no way of viewing my web browsing history on the actual iPad. Private browsing most definitely is not the problem, as is the suggestion I keep seeing for this type of question.
    Is there anyway I can get my history folder set back up?  Here is what I am working with:

    To illustrate.

  • How do I get the back button in Safari to work again?

    The back button stopped working. I can only refresh the page. To go back I need to go up to History, and click back. I loved it when the back button worked. Any suggestions? I have a MACBook and Leopard

    For any of you who have had this problem... here is the real solution. On the upper task bar, Go to VIEW, open up CUSTOMIZE TOOL BAR, find the FORWARD AND BACK ARROWS and DRAG THEM UP TO WHERE THEY BELONG. How did they disappear?..... some accidental combination of keystrokes deleted them, I don't remember what that was. End of story and I am sticking to it

  • Trouble with back button in Safari, always resets to top of page.

    I am running Safari 6.0.5 on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.5
    The problem that I am having is that every time I use the back button to my previous page it always takes me to the top of my previous page. All of my other Macs running Safari always take me to the point in the page I left from. It is a real headache to always have to search for where I was on my last page. I have gone through every preference I can think of that would be relevant and updated several versions of Safari with no change. This issuse is only on my laptop
    Anyone that has had this issue I would appreciate the help.

    Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Back Button in Safari 3.1.2

    I just recently got a new MacBook Pro, after my old computer died. I had been using the original Safari browser on it, and never had any problems.
    In Safari 3.1.2, about once every ten times I click the back button, it rockets me back two pages instead of just one.
    That's about my only qualm, but wasn't sure where to voice it.
    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    Hi Rachel, My Double-Click Speed is set to two notches below fast. I'm still using the mouse that came with my eMac, so it's not a third party issue.
    I've developed other bugs too. So I'm seriously thinking about just buying an iMac and forgo some puzzling and frustrating things going on inside my poor little eMac.
    When I called Apple Support on the mouse issue, they suggested an Archive & Install, which I did. That didn't fix the glitch. Since then, Text Edit opens every time I restart my eMac with this -
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>LprojCompatibleVersion</key>
    <string>216</string>
    <key>LprojLocale</key>
    <string>fr</string>
    <key>LprojRevisionLevel</key>
    <string>1</string>
    <key>LprojVersion</key>
    <string>220.1</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    I don't have a clue what this is. I suspect it is Unix code, but can't figure out what it is related to.
    I also lost, among other things, Printer Drivers. The driver for my Brother HL-2040 reinstalled in a snap and it is functioning fine. However, I cannot find the Kodak Printer Dock Series 3 driver in Printer Setup Utility after many uninstalls and installations.
    Back in February, I started to have kernel panics. I scanned my disk and found over 100 bad blocks. I backed up my system to an external HDD, zeroed out my disk and reinstalled my system. About 6-7 weeks ago, I had a single kernel panic and none since. Taken together, all of this make me think that it is time to move on and get an iMac.
    My apologies for hijacking this thread.

  • Programming Mighty mouse with back button for Safari

    Is there a way to program the mighty mouse so that the squeeze buttons on the side make it go back in Safari. Does it require a script. Are there any ready made scripts for that? (The keyboard command would be command left bracket.
    thanks

    Try the shareware mouse software, SteerMouse - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

    When i am using Safari on my iPad for Reading a Onlinemagazin or Newspaper and i go into an Artikel and then use the Backbutton to go back to the Mainpage, it Shows me an Old Mainpage from Day ago!
    You have to  use the Refreshbutton to get the valid Mainpage again.

  • I accidentally deleted "empty cache" from safari drop down, what are the keystokes for doing it manually?

    What are the keystokes for doing it manually? or how do you reload it to the drop down menu?

    "Empty cache"  is not available in Safari 6.  (It's not possilble to delete that option from the Safari menu).
    Several workarounds.
    One. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar.
    Now from the Safari menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches
    Or, from the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari.
    Select:  Clear History  (that empties the cache as well as deleting history. Deselect all the other boxes, then click Reset.
    Unfortunately, Safar 6 omitted the empty cache keyboard shortcut.

  • Accidentally deleted safari content and the 10.9.4. Mavericks update also didn't get it back.

    I accidentally deleted the contents of Safari and it cannot be downloaded. Even after updating to 10.9.4 Mavericks (which should have included the new Safari 7) it is not back. Thank you.

    Boot into recovery mode and reinstall the OS.
