Accidentally deleted music on ipod-recover it?

I accidentally synced my ipod and itunes, however, the music on them were not the same. now my ipod is completely empty. Is there anyway to get the ipod music back?

If you don't have the music saved to an iTunes library, you may want to see if you can find an unerase utility for Windows (sorry, I can't recommend any). If you enable disk use and run the unerase utility against the iPod's drive letter in Windows (your profile indicates you are using Windows 2000), you might be able to recover the data. It's a long shot, but might be worth a try.

how to recover deleted music from ipod touch?

This is not a complicated problem. And you can easilly solve it. Here is the way about how to recover music from iPod.
1 Connect your iPod to your computer to restore custom ringtones and ringtones saved to the computer.
2 Click the "iPod" button in iTunes, or select your iPod in the sidebar if you enabled the option to show the sidebar.
3 Select the "Tones" tab, check the box for each ringtone you want to transfer to your iPhone, and then click "Sync."
Sometimes a 3 party tool such as Data Recovery may help you in a easy way.

I think you can only get app data back if you reinstall the app and then restore the iPod from backup.  The app should contain the dat up to the time the backup was made.

  • Ipod touch 3rd gen game app accidentally deleted and can't recover game to status before deletion...Help!!!!

I've got an ipod touch 3rd gen and accidentally deleted an app but now after resyncing it i've lost all the data and the app goes back to default. Is there a way to restore the app including all the previous data. I was at level 34 and now back to level 1

Sadly it seems the settings to sync everytime i connect has overwritten the backup because I only just checked it not to sync automatically . I'm new to using apple as I'm a true and true windows geek and thought it should at least keep 3 sets of backups...boy am I wrong . That's months of work on a game app gone .

  • Accidentally deleted music?

I have accidentally deleted several CD's bought from iTunes and i was wondering "Can i get them back?" Somehow a few of my albums on my iPod touch have been removed and i can not find the files for them anywhere. Is it possible to somehow re-download them without repurchasing them?

The policy on music/media purchases is that you only get one download and it's up to you to maintain a backup against loss: iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link it'll take you to the support/contact page, from there click on Music Purchases then the Lost or Missing Items option, from there click on "Email Us": Customer Service - iTunes Store Support

  • Cannot delete music from ipod touch, tried everything suggested thus far.

I have tried several suggestions up to this point and nothing has worked. It is my understanding that everything in My Music, (on my PC) transfers to the iTunes program, either manually or automaticlly. It is also my understanding that if I add or delete music from iTunes, that it will automatically be added or deleted on my iPod Touch, (4th gen). Well, none of this has proven to be true...at best, it is sporatic and frustrating. Any new ideas out there?

    Buy doing what?...
You need to be more specific about what you are trying. "I've tried several suggestions" tells us nothing. You've tried my suggestion (but I made two - dependant upon what you are doing), but you haven't told me how you are managing your iPod, are you using Sync or manually managing? Without that knowledge, everything else is meaningless.
If you are using Sync, and you have selected *Sync only ticked songs and videos,* then un-ticking a song and then performing a Sync will remove the song. So what are you doing?

  • Cannot delete music from iPod nano (latest generation).  Have already selected "Manually Manage music and videos" but delete is unavailable from right click or Edit.

I have done everything I've seen recommended for deleting music (jncluding "manually manage").  Thanks for the assistance!!!

Did you Apply the change after selecting (checking the box for) Manually manage music and videos?
With the latest iTunes, if the sidebar is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, select the iPod under DEVICES.  Click the toggle (to the left of iPod) to drop down the iPod's content list, indented under iPod.  Click on Music there.  Over to the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown.  You can select songs there, right click on them, and select Delete from the contextual menu.  You can also select songs there, go up to the menu bar, and select Delete under Edit.  You can also select songs there, and just press the Delete key on the keyboard.
If you want to use automatic syncing, which is far more convenient than the manual method, and easily manage content on the iPod (add and remove songs), please post back.

  • Itunes deleting music on ipod because the original file culd not be found

The music on my ipod is being deleted when i start syncing my music from iTunes to my ipod. The thing is all the music on my ipod is still on Itunes. This started happening recently, it was all fine before.Since the original file cant be found on Itunes how do you stop it from deleting off your ipod?
Also could it be a problem since my music is stored on a separate hard drive, maybe thats why the original file cant be found, even though its still connected to the computer.
If it cant be fixed then is there an easy way to find the original files so the i wont have to find the "lost" files then delete them and sync them over again.
Could it be deleting the files off my ipod because half the songs on Itunes "could not find the original file" even though the songs are on my ipod already?

I use manual sync for that very reason.
And also for that very reason, I maintain my iTunes folder on my laptop as a backup for my iPod; I only delete "songs" when I want to remove them from my iPod, and I use auto sync because I can. If I ever have to restore (and I did once, when I had to have my iPod replaced), I know I can do a complete job of it.
(Should my iPod files exceed the capacity of my laptop hard disk, I'll probably switch to using a folder on an external drive for this purpose.)

  • Deleting Music on Ipod Mini

I have some songs I'd like to delete off my iPod Mini. How do
    I go about doing so?
I would also like to change some of the names of the songs on there because they are spelt wrong. How do I do this?
Would it be easier to wipe out my whole iPod and just put all my songs back on it? If so, how would I do so?
    Thanks!

When the ipod is plugged in, in Edit>Prefernces>iPod, turn it to Only Update Checked Songs
Then, uncheck all of the songs you want off of you ipod.
(You can do this in reverse order, it doesn't matter.

  • Cannot delete music from ipod nano if not connected!

I couldn´t believe it´s not possible to delete files from my ipod nano 4G when not connected to my PC !! I use it to record talks (w/ XtremeMac´s MicroMemo) and I needed to make some room to record important talks in a seminar and I found it´s impossible to delete some downloaded music! It´s unbelieveable such simple and useful feature is not implemented yet even in this (otherwise excellent) newest generation ipod!!!
Would it be likely a future firmware with this feature?

"Would it be likely a future firmware with this feature?"
No one here would know what future upgrades Apple have planned and they don't as a rule pre-announce what will be contained in Firmware updates. You can leave your feedback/feature request at this link: Apple Product Feedback

  • Cannot delete music from iPod

    Hi all,
I have a 32Gb iPod Touch. My library makes it necessary to only load music that can fill the iPod, as I have more music that that.
I attempted to delete my iPod library, which seemed to work initially. BUT, not all the music was deleted - 4 albums remained. I then did the drastic action of Resetting the iPod back to the manufacturer's original setup.
The 4 albums STILL appear (?). I have been able to add music from iTunes OK, but I cannot find a way to remove the albums I don't require.
I'd appreciate any help/instructions that can solve the [problem.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
    Bazza

Thanks IIIaass for your prompt help.
After I used the iPod Touch to delete all of the system, and then reinstalled, I wound up with 4 albums still remaining on the Touch. No way could I remove them.  I used iTunes Music for installing albums on the Touch using the small box that shows what appliances are running. All went in without a problem, and all played.
The result is that the 4 albums are still there, and I can't figure out how to remove them. I would have thought that a total reinstall on the Touch would have eliminated all the music - the remaining 4 albums were a small number of the 60 or so albums that were on it. How they were removed and these 4 still stayed is the mystery.
I was installing music via the Apple Mac via Finder, where all my music comes into (I don't use iTunes Store). I highlighted the tracks of the album and dragged them to the Touch via the small box on the top L/H side. All went in, and appeared on the play list - by artist, album and tracks. It was only when I looked into the Community Help that I was aware that one could choose the Touch by highlighting the tracks in iTunes, and then dragging them up to the top L/H side, where all of a sudden the Touch icon was show, together with any other icons for other players. No hint anywhere I could find that mentioned this method. Using it was much quicker, and the 60-70 albums went in with no problems.
With all the above, I'm still at a standstill in trying to eliminate the 4 albums that still reside.
If there's any other options you might recommend I'd be really pleased.
    Regards
    Barrie

  • How can i get my pictures back, which were deleted because my ipod recovered.

    Hello,
I wanted to put some music on my ipod. After removing my ipod from the computer, i checked the pictures. I saw i lost my 400 pictures, which i made in vietnam. Is there any way i can recover the pictures. I already tried restoring the pictures. All thensetting were the same, but my pictures didn't show up.
I am using iTunes for windows (version 10.5) and my ipod is version 5.1.1
I hope you can help me,
    Matthijs Bles

If you ever ran a backup of your iPod to your Mac, you can use this app - it is a LIFESAVER!
    http://picturescueapp.com/
Before you buy it, you can download it for free and scan your past iPod backups to see if your pictures are there.
Also, if you run Time Machine on your Mac, you will have older iPod backups there, so you can pull up the backup file from a Time Machine backup, and then open it up with PictuRescue.
    Good luck!

  • Deleting Music from Ipod classic

I just purchased My first ipod classic. I uploaded music to my ipod " with concerable difficulity", and probably the wrong way. And alot of the songs cut off in the middle of the song and leaped to the next one. Can some one tell me why and also how can I delete all my songs and start from scratch?

    Hello walking lady,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
First of all, do these tracks play ok in iTunes or does the issue also appear there as well?
Once way to start from scratch is restore your iPod via iTunes. This will wipe everything currently on the iPod and set it back to its original default settings.

  • ITunes deletes music from IPOD?

I imported a cd to iTunes. I then put it on my ipod. I then unplugged my ipod. Then deleted the music from iTunes.
The next time I plugged my ipod in and accessed iTunes it deleted the songs from my ipod without me asking it.
I did not want the songs deleted. Why did this happen? Do the songs have to stay in my iTunes library in order to stay on my ipod?
I am stumped why this happened. My ipod is a Ipod shuffle 2nd generation
Hope this made sense to anyone who knows how to help.
    Thanks

This would also be the case for any iPod set to autosync, & not "manually manage" in the iPod preferences.

  • Help!  I accidentally deleted "music videos" how do I get it back??????

Help!!! I have been having mega difficulty since upgrading to iTunes 7.4.1---big mistake upgrading to that!!! Anyway I've had numerous problems----in my process to make everything work properly---I noticed I had duplicate listings under "music videos"----when I tried to delete the duplicates it deleted the catagory "music videos"-----they are listed under purchased videos, but I can't find "music videos". Now, as a result I can't put my videos on my iPod---it won't recognize and alternate "music videos" file I placed under playlists. So, how do I get the catagory "music videos" back with my purchased videos listed???? I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a Hewlett Packard computer. Thanks for any and all assistance you can give me.

Can I still take into consideration re-installing the entire OS?
You can, but extracting just the QT Player app would be faster.
I tried using Pacifist to extract the QT X Player but I can't find it.
When the Pacifist list of extract items is displayed, check the following path...
    Contents of OSInstall.mkpg
       Contents of EssentialsSystemSoftware
          Contents of EssentialSystemsSoftwareGroup
             Contents of Essentials.pkg
                Applications
                   QuickTime Player.app
I just performed a test extraction from my original Snow Leopard upgrade installer disc and had no problems using this path.
