Accidentally deleted plugins, now iTunes wont't open.

Anybody know how to get deleted plugins back so I can access iTunes?

This is the box that pops up when I try to open Quicktime:
"Quicktime failed to initialize. Error #2095. Please make sure QuickTime is properlay installed on this computer."
When I try to uninstall it this box pops up:
"The following file does not exist or is not a valid uninstallation log file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\QuickTime\Uninstall.log"
When I try to go to apple.com, the page fails to completely open up and this box pops up:
Title: Plugin Error
"The plugin did not initialize properlay"
Gotta go to work be back later

  • ITunes 10.1.1 Updated, Now iTunes wont open!

I have recently by way of software updater, updated iTunes to the latest 10.1.1 and now iTunes will not open up on my mac at all. I have never had a problem with this program before. Are they any ways to correct this problem such as downloading the update directly from apple, and if that is the case do I have to uninstall iTunes first or will the downloaded file from apple directly overwrite the previouse problem update file to get me back up and running?

Make sure this isn't a problem with an older app that you used with iTunes, try the steps here -> iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins

  • Did the requested upgrade and now iTunes won't open for anything

I tried to plug my iPod in and not even that will launch iTunes.
In a similar topic it was asked if QuickTime would launch, my QuickTime will open but it has been loading for 2hrs now.... WHATS GOING ON?!!???

Me too... The other post relating to this was with a PC but the same is happening for macs too by the look of it. Has anyone got an idea of how to sort this out? I don't suppose it's possible to find an earlier version of iTunes to download? I'm going to have a search now cos I need iTunes to be working!

  • ITunes stopped working,C++ library error, removed iTunes, now iTunes wont download

Have been using iTunes for years on laptop with windows vista (32 bit).  recently started getting itunes errors such as C++ runtime library error and  R6034 error.  Itunes stopped working.  Read the boards, I deleted itunes and other products from the trouble shooting directions (e.g., bonjour, mobile me etc), and tried to download itunes again.  now itunes wont download (I have 20 MB/140MB available memory).  stuck at this point - Itunes not on laptop, but cant download new itunes.....

Sorry for the delay.  Tried running the fixit program (1 time via internet explorer, 1 time via firefox), the firefox attempt downloaded the fixit program, but when trying to run it I get a pop up window that indicates that the troubleshooter is not available and that the fixit program is invalid or has expired and a new website is given for the new program (same happened with the internet exploere attempt- it directed me to the same window and to the same website)......the website is:
    http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
there are several buttons to choose from and reviewed them- I found the uninstall fix that you described in the windows button.  I tried to download and run the fix from both internet explorer and firefox, however after downloading, when i run the program I eventually get the same window that says that the troubleshooter is not available......

  • I am unable to open images in Develop Mode in Lightroom 5.4. I keep getting system crashes. Now they wont even open images up at all in any mode.

I have Lightroom 5.4 under the CC from Adobe. EVerytime i opened an image up in Develop mode, the program would crash and Microsoft would tell me its stopped working. After playing around with it, now it wont even open up images in ANY of the modes, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH LIGHTROOM ?!?

First of all, if you don't know much about how applications work inside of the OS, its wise to not look in the application folder(s). Deleting anything here can make your apps go haywire. If this happened, then you are best to 1)unregister photoshop, 2) uninstall your entire suite. 3) reinstall the suite and finally 4) reregister photoshop.
All images/textures/photo's including dng, cr2 and nef files need to be stored in your pictures folder and no where else, unless you're an intermediate user on your OS. In your pictures folder you can create folders for organizing the pictures whether by location, season's, time, or file format.
Then when you back up you can just drag a copy of the files to another drive including cd's or dvd's.
This will make sure you don't accidently delete important app files.
All this said, my OS of choice is Windows, so if anything does not sound right, thats why.
    Hopefully this helps...

  • Just reinstalled itunes due to need to fix msvcr80.dll error; now itunes wont run because itunes library.itl cant be read created by newer version itunes.  how do i resolve this ?

    just reinstalled itunes due to need to fix msvcr80.dll error;
now itunes wont run because itunes library.itl cant be read created by newer version itunes.
how do i resolve this ?

By way of experiment, let's first try specifically choosing a library for iTunes to open.
Quit iTunes if that error message is showing. Now hold down your Shift key, and then open iTunes. (Keep holding down the shift key while iTunes is opening.)
You should see a dialog asking you if you want to choose or create a library, as per the following screenshot:
    Click "Choose Library ..."
You should now see a screen like the following screenshot:
Select the "iTunes Library.itl" file (shown circled in the screenshot) and click "Open".
Does your iTunes library open without the error?

I downloaded the new iTunes yesterday and today had some computer problems and had to go reinstall my system from Monday. Now, iTunes won't open at all, I just keep getting the error "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured." Any ideas of what I can do to fix this?

It did for me.  And I wanted to thank the group for the advice!
I was sweating bullets when it was installing.  Almost four thousand handpicked songs accumulated over four years.  Names, Dates, Album Art, etc.

  • Switched to a new computer - now iTunes won't open

    Hi everyone,
I did a search and couldn't find relevant/helpful information, so I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.
I recently purchased a new laptop that came with iTunes 6.0. My old laptop had iTunes 4.7 on it. I ran a program called PC Relocator to transfer all my files/programs/settings, and instead of choosing manual selection, I let it transfer anything and everything it "thought" needed to be transferred.
Now, iTunes will not open on my new computer. Whenever I try to open it, I get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. I have tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, following all troubleshoot tips both on the website as well as in these forums, deleting all installation programs, all registry information - I even tried reinstalling it with the Recovery CD included in my new laptop, all to no avail.
I would sincerely appreciate any advice or suggestions anyone might have. Thank you all so much!
    Antony Merkel

    hi Antony!

hmmm. is itunes currently still installed and giving you that message? if so, let's just check explicitly on the status of your quicktime. is that currently able to launch? if so, what version does it claim to be in your "about" screen?
    love, b

  • I shut down when an upgrade was taking too long yesterday, now Itunes will not open today

I shut down when an upgrade was taking too long yesterday, now Itunes will not open today

    Hello James,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
From what you are describing, I have 2 recommendations. First, troubleshoot for 3rd party plugins that may be causing an issue after the interrupted update:
iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3430
If the issue persists after followign the article, I would next download iTunes from the download page, and install it.

  • I ran an itunes update, but now itunes won't open as it says it hasn't been installed correctly. How do I reinstall it?

I ran an itunes update, but now itunes won't open as it says it hasn't been installed correctly. How do I reinstall it?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • TS1717 Started a software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes.  You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update.  I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.
