Accidentally deleted rig setting in library

I have permanently deleted one of the "complete rigs" from the library and I wanted to know if there is any way to retrieve it. Would reinstalling Logic be the simplest way to bring it back? And if I do that will I lose all of my Logic projects?

Re-installing may be the easiest way. Re-installing will not write over your personal Logic projects. Good idea to keep a backup of your projects and important data regardless.

If you have used it in a past song you can load that song and re-save the preset to the library. Or if you let us know which one it is maybe someone could email it to you.

  • Accidentally Deleted some Messages app Library Files

I accidentally deleted some of the important messages app library files.  Is there a way to restore them?

    Hi,
Do you have a Time Machine Backup ?
If so navigate to where you deleted the files from then use the Time Machine icon n the DOCK and Restore them.
If not Restore the whole OS as there is no other way.

  • HT204476 So what happens if I accidentally delete the Migrated Aperture Library?

Just read the Help note on Apple's site about how Photos doesn't actually take up additional space on my hard drive. To be honest, that wasn't clear to me when I was looking around my Pictures directory this morning and I almost deleted the original Aperture Library.
    What happens if I do?

I think I misread your question.
The way In understand it is that the hardlinks when associated with multiple folders result in more than 1 folder referencing the same files - so long as 1 folder is referencing the items the original files do not delete - where are they? - I suspect to the user that is hidden and if you get rid of Aperture library the original files stay somewhere in the file system but remain associated to the Photos library.
I agree for those of us who worry about things like this there's a concern we'll inadvertently delete originals, but I believe TD's advice is correct.
Either way, I would probably make a backup of any library I was about to delete to an external drive plus/minus Time Machine to be on the safe side.
Unless you really need to delete Aperture library might be as well just to leave it and ignore it until you're happy Photos does what you need.

  • I accidentally deleted my entire music library and it's in the trash, how do I move it back?

I just deleted my entire music library and its in the trash, how do I move it back?

How did you delete it? Please provide more details to see what options you have available. Did you use iTunes by deleting the directory and confirming putting it in the trash or did you drag the actual  iTunes folder in the trash? If you dragged the folder the solution is easy, either right click on the folder and select Put Back or manually return the folder to the previous location.
Do you have a recent backup of the entire iTunes Music folder including the iTunes Library.itl file or just the iTunes Library.itl file?

  • How do I recover Apple's stock python after accidentally deleting it from /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework? Is a Snow Leopard restore the only option?

I accidentally and foolishly deleted my COMPLETE folders: /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5 and /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6. Almost 10,000 files were trashed, and only three files would not go through. One of them was the 2.5 python executable. So I put this file back to its original location from trash, but it won't execute (probably for a reason - since Python is missing its remaining files).
I have a python.org python2.7 up and running, but my understanding is that Snow Leopard needs its stock apple provided python for the system to function properly.
Is my only to format my hard drive and restore Snow Leopard from scratch?

I'm actually not trying to do anything other than compile a python script for analyzing scientific data. I am a BIOLOGIST and have absolutely no interest in python for the sake of python. I just need to analyze my data. To get there, I need python/numpy/scipy/wxpython/matplotlib and many other things. I don't know why this seems so "suspicious"??? It's a free world - people are allowed to mess with things. It's not like I am threatening Apple - I made a mistake. Plain and simple. What's the big deal???
I was deleting some skeleton files that were leftover from previous versions of programs and libraries. And that's how I ran into the python2.5 and 2.6. I thought - I will never use these pythons again - why do I have 2.5 files still on my system. I thought I was in /Library/Python, but I was actually in /System/Library/Frameworks. By the time I realized I had wiped out the system's python, it was too late - trash was emptied permanently.
I am in no way trying to "experiment" with apple's python. I know apple's python can happily coexist with python.org or macports python.
In general, I get frustrated with trying to run python bioinformatics scripts on my Mac because there is always an issue. It's either that python is running in 64 bit mode and the scripts are too old. Or, the default apple provided gcc screws up. Quite frankly - Apple and Python are not always best friends.
I used to have a multitude of pythons through fink and macports but I wiped them all out and installed python.org's python27. I also switched to github for all my dependencies and libraries.
In the future, I'll just find a Linux machine to run bioinformatics. I love my Mac, but so far, I have had nothing but nightmares with Python and Apple trying to be friends. Linux is so much better for these types of activities. I can even do a Virtualbox Ubuntu on my MBP and take it from there...
For example, many bioinformatics scripts were made with Carbon and require Carbon. But guess what? Apple kept support for 64-bit Cocoa, but only supports 32-bit Carbon. That makes life ****. Why have a 64 bit architecture with no support for it?

  • I accidentally deleted my entire iTunes library after updating my iTunes.  Is there any way that I can get these songs back?

After clicking on an update for iTunes, the only change I noticed was the addition of about 9000 sound bytes, which was ridiculous and wasteful.  I started to delete all the sound bytes, but that was going to be a huge chore.  Instead, I moved the songs I had in my library to a playlist called "backup library."  I then chose to "select all" under edit to highlight the rest of the 9000 soundbytes and delete these in one click.  At first, this seemed to work.  I still had the saved songs in my playlist, and the 9000 sound bytes went to the recycle bin.  I then emptied the recycle bin to get rid of the sound bytes.  When I checked iTunes again, there were no songs anywhere in the library or playlists.  Is there any thing you can do to help restore all of these songs (and none of the sound bytes) to my IPOD Classic?  Is my account saved with a back-up of everything I had saved in my iTunes library and playlists?
I have about 1500 songs in my IPOD Classic that are not affected by this error.  Is there a way that I can transfer all of these songs back into my iTunes library?
I would appreciate any help with this problem.

    Hello bigali,
Your options are kinda limited. I would use this first:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and ...
Then check here for the non-purchased items:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022
You want to rebuild the library first, then sync the ipod.
Here is a good idea for when your done:

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi, Please help. I accidentally deleted my entire Iphoto Library. I used Stellar Phoenix 4.1 and I do believe that I recovered all. I recovered to "My Passport" for Mac External HD. Files are all mixed up, best way to import back?

Hi, a couple days ago, I was orgainizing my Iphoto libray. Then, I thought that I was emptying my trash on Iphoto. (the ones I deleted when orgainizing) after hitting are you sure button, I realized that it was 209 files with 18,000+ photos. So I frantically stopped iphoto from "saving critical information" thinking If I left it open I could copy all my files over to (I beleive somewhere in finder under pictures?) I thought, but it most have been under the applications folder. Well this is where I really messed up. So after saving every file to that section, and everything was normal again on iphoto, I decided to make space and delete them from where I put them. So instead of selecting each file indivually, I used the select ALL button. Only to find that it deleted EVERYTHING. Iphoto (the file) was apparently at the bottom of the page along with Nikon Transfer, Lightroom 2 and god knows what else. That is when I found a data recovery software program (Stellar Phoenix 4.1mac) 17 hours later it found 159GB. I read enough to know that I HAD to go and buy an external HD. (even though I already own Time Capsule, but I never hooked it up ) was confused about if I could actually use that for this matter so, I just went and bought My Passport an external HD for Mac. Plugged it in, and recovered what looks like all my files (hopefully) did also read enough that I knew NOT to use my computer after this occured.
Now that you all know how I got into this mess, I would like to know the best way to import the files back? Ok I know this sounds easy, but all the files are scattered everywhere on the HD. Is there a way to put them back on my Mac Book Pro that would possibly put them in some kind of order? Date? Image file number? Anything? 18,000 photos to reorgainze is going to be brutal. I can reinstall Lightroom 2, if i can locate where I put the disk. And I also have CS5. Also wondering if the quality of the photo was affected?  I did get them back, so I am not complaining but any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Will be turning on Time Machine and hooking up Time Capsule as well. Should I also use my new HD along with capsule? Any advice on that matter would also be greatly appreciated as well!!!!!
    Thanks, Michelle

  • Can't see backup library after accidentally deleting library

In trying to free up some hard drive space - it was almost empty - I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto Library, emptying it from the trash. Thankfully I do back up to an external hard drive, and have moved the backed up library back to my Pictures folder. However, I cannot see the library in iPhoto, even when i Option-start the app and "Choose" that library. I only get 95 photos that i have imported since the accidental deletion and moved to that back up folder after re-copying it.
Any ideas why I can't see the Library in iPhoto even after choosing it? I'm not going to have to go through and import every photo am I? (I hope not as they are stored by year/month/day in hundreds of folders).
I would also like to know how to get this to work as I have ordered a new iMac today, and will want to choose the same Library on it too.
    Thanks.

    HI roger,
Navigate through the iPhoto Library folder and see if all your photos are in there. I just want to make sure that the backup library does indeed have your photos in there. If it does, and iPhoto still can't see your library, maybe a data file got messed up.
In that case, you can create a new library and import from the old very easily by following the next instructions below.
    Close iPhoto
Rename your messed up iPhoto Library to "iPhoto Library_old"
Drag this library to your desktop
Hold down the Option key and launch iPhoto
This is the window you will get
Create a new library or choose a library to open
Choose to create a new library
Once this new empty library is open it is time to import the images from your old library
    Go to File>add to library
Navigate to the old library on your desktop and highlight it in the window, then click the "import" button.
iPhoto will start importing the images from your old library
    This is what to expect:
Your images will be imported in nice dated rolls. (make sure your view is set to sort by rolls to see it) There are a couple of caveats to this. You will get rolls named "Originals" These rolls will contain your video clips and your original images that you had edited. If you had RAW files they would be in those rolls too (I don't do RAW, so I don't know for sure) Delete what you don't want from those rolls. You will also get the jpeg pointer files to your video clips imported. They will just be jpegs and will not point to the video clips anymore as iPhoto made new ones when the clips were imported again. You can delete those. they should be in a roll right next to the newly imported video clips so they are not hard to find. The thumbnail files don't get imported as iPhoto makes new ones when the images are imported.
Once all you images have been imported, check through the library and make sure everything looks ok.
You can now start making your Albums, and do your keywords or any other organizational steps.
You can also delete the old library on the desktop.
It is also a good time to backup this new library to CD/DVD by burning the iPhoto LIbrary folder in the Finder, or copying the iPhoto Library folder to an external drive formatted for Macs, or copying the iPhoto LIbrary folder to an iPod.
    Good luck!

  • ITunes library , accidental deletion

    Hi every body ,
In order to create space in my hard drive i accidentally removed all the music files from the Music folder of the Users group in my Mac OS X .It apparently resulted in emptying all my music in itunes
I want to know , do we need to store a copy of every music file on the itunes somewhere in the Harddrive or the itunes has its own storage place ? Because previously i deleted a couple of songs from the music folder , however they were up and running on itunes ???
Or did I accidentally deleted a library file from the music folder ???
    Help required !!!

I made sure that I didnt delete the itunes folder , but somehow i believe something got deleted and this has left a vacant spot in my MAC .
Yes the playlist have gone as well !
So , now just to clear up or rather summarize everything - once a file is saved in itunes , we can remove it from else where right , provided we do the below :
Just a caution: To achieve this behaviour, you have to set an option in the  import settings in
    iTunes Preferences -> Advanced :
"Copy Files to iTunes Media Folder when adding to the Library" must be set to "on",

  • HT201272 I accidentally deleted an album from my iTunes library and now that i want to re download it is saying that it has already been purchased but i don't have it how do i get the album back?

I accidentally deleted an album from my itunes library and i want to buy it again but itunes is saying that i have already purchased it but i don't have it in my library. How do i buy the album again?

Sorry, but audiobooks cannot be downloaded more than once without charge, so if you don't have a viable backup, you may be out of luck. You can, however, contact the iTunes Store, explain the situation, and see if they can make an exception for you.

  • I accidentally deleted the "Recently Added" playlist from my iTunes Library

I accidentally deleted my "Recently Added" file that comes as one of the standard files with the iTunes program. I have been unable to get it back and sure would like this file as it is easier to trace new additions. Anyone know how I can do this? I tried just adding a new file but it does not recognize new additions.

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
To recreate the default *Recently Added* smart playlist:
Click *File > New Smart Playlist...*
Click the + symbol to the right hand side
The first line should now read:
Match all of the following rules
Change the next two lines to read
*Date Added is in the last 2 weeks*
    *Media Kind is not Podcast*
There should also be a tick against *Live updating*
Click OK and set the playlist name to *Recently Added*

  • Help, I accidentally deleted the parent tab set.

I accidentally deleted the parent tab set from my application, and cannot find anyway to create a new one. Has anyone had this problem?
    Oracle - 9.04R2
    ApEx - 2.2.0
    Browser - Firefox
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hi Scott,
unfortunately I made a stupid thing, being too smart and updating the FLOWS_020200.wwv_SOMETHING_tabs record, modifying parent tab of the problematic tab to main. Doing that caused the complete application to disappear from the Application builder. I guess some checksums in APEX internal objects were modified and that is the result.
Fortunately I had a recent export of an application, so I didn't loose too much. That also means that I can not help myself with "as of" export.
Could you please just tell if recreating parent tabs is possible by "clicking through apex screens" or should there be some hacking used.
