Accidentally lost Appleworks 6.2.6 while updating A.Works 6.2.9?
In order to install Apple Works 6.2.9 I need to have A.
Works 6.2.6 back in my Applications folder. Please help

I used Software Restore disks, which went well. Then tried to reload Updater for AppleWrks
6.2.9, but it refused to install same, saying it could not find an AppleWorks 6 on my Hard drive
in Applications! The only reason I'm making a point about this is my present A.W. 6.2.6, the Text
of which I have used for years, refuses to open with a letter-size window. It opens with a 4" size
ruler page and I cannot procede with my work! Aggravating! Thanks for any ideas about this.

Download it to PC/Laptop, then transfer it to phone SD Card. Make sure you have a File Manager app to search and install the apk file. -

Hold the power button and the home button down until the screen goes black and the apple logo appears. This will do a reset and you should be able to update your apps then.

The same thing happened to me about one hour ago!!!! I was installing the newest Ipad Software on my IPad I and had left for a few minutes, when I came back I got this message that ITunes had an Ipad in Recovery that I needed to restore.
Clicked on the restore button, and so far for the 4th time, it stops right in the middle of preparing the Ipad for restore.
Last message shown: IPad cannot be restored.

I'm not sure what you can do at this point. If I had been in your shoes, I would have kept the pics in the camera's SD cards until my return home.
I'm really reluctant to suggest this but, at this point, you probably can't lose. Do a "Restore." Be forewarned that it could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

I just took a peek at the TinyUmbrella FAQs. Your device has been jailbroke and that's likely the reason why the problem occurred to begin with. Contact the jailbreaker for assistance. Neither Apple nor anyone on the forum can help you as we do not know the characteristics of your device.
