Accidentally pressed don't trust my computer

Connected my iPod to my computer. Message came up to trust or don't trust the computer and I accidentally hit don't trust. Now the computer doesn't recognize the phone and vice versa.  What do I do

I'm also getting this message sporadically since upgrading my iPhone5 to iOS7, when I have it connected using the Apple cable to my PC running Windows 8. still getting the same error whatever I trust or dont trust when I connect to my pc its popping up. its really annoying n no one can help about this. so we all have the same problem.

I'm having the same problem... So far doesn't seem to be any fix for it.
People will try and tell you "Apple say just reconnect the device" but if that was the case, well... we wouldn't be here would we lol.

    Hi Rebekah...
This problem seemed to have worked itself out... Somewhere amongst these solutions...
    1. Reinstall iTunes
    2. Restart computer
    3. Restart iDevice
It didn't at first, and I thought to myself... "Oh great, another problem which Apple doesn't acknowledge as existing", but don't worry. Give it a couple of restarts, and if all else fails... Create a new Windows Logon and try from there.
It just happens I was in the middle of reformatting my PC and resinstalling Windows 7, so it wasn't so much an issue when I wiped as it worked when I tried it on a fresh system.
    Hope something helps...

  • HT5868 Accidentally pressed "Don't Trust"

I accidentally clicked don't trust and now it keeps asking every time. Is there a way to stop this so that it may trust the computer "indefinitely"?

Reset all settings should cure that. Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings. All your preferences and settings are reset including those for apps. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will be asked all the questions you have answered about using location services again etc. Data like high scores etc will be lost but it will let you use the computer again

  • I want to transfer my photos from iPhone to my macbook pro as I have done many times before but I pressed (don't trust instead of trust) accidentally and now can't access the photos at all on the computer.

My phone is an iPhone 4
computer is a macbook pro OS X 10.8.5
When I plugged in the phone it asked me to unlock the phone with my password which I did.
Then it asked if I trust the device and I accidentally pressed don't trust. On the computer ( iPhoto) it told me there were no photos on the phone)
I tried unmounting the phone and retrying but get 0 photos now when there are many new ones.

iOS 7 devices need iTunes 11.1 or newer to sync.  Depending upon your computer and the OS it is running, you may not be able to upgrade to iTunes 11.1 based on the requirements for iTunes 11.1.  What computer and OS are you running your iTunes on?  From the iTunes download pages I see the requiorements are:
    Macintosh System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
    400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
    Windows System Requirements
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
    400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store

  • HT5868 I accidentally hit "Don't Trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust it again even when I restart everything. Now what?

When I connected my phone to my computer I accidentally clicked "don't trust" and now I can't change the setting to allow my phone to "trust" my computer even though it has trusted it before I downloaded the new update. What do I need to do to be able to connect my phone to my computer again?

Ok, this just happened to me and none of the above seemed to work. But, I have found a solution that worked for me:
go to settings > general > reset > then click 'reset all settings' (only click if you happy to reset all settings)
Obviously, this will reset all your settings but not lose content.
My iphone 5S was attached to the computer and itunes throughout this process .... it will power down, restart and you will notice the sync icon start to whirr!
Obviously once redone you will have to reset security thumb/passcode - but your sync should now be working!!!

  • I bought an iphone 5C and my music from my dell laptop doesn't let me sync my music into my phone. When i first bought it I accidentally pressed don't show again on itunes. How do I download itunes 11.1 or later now?

I bought an iphone 5C and my music from my dell laptop doesn't let me sync my music into my phone. When i first bought it I accidentally pressed don't show again on itunes. How do I download itunes 11.1 or later now?  I have been trying for atleast a month, but I can't find any solutions. I had payed a lot of money on those songs and albums, and now I can't even sync it on to my phone. I know it was stupid of me to press that button, but I need help on trying to get it to sync.  -Mohima

You need to have the latest version of iTunes on the computer, version 11.1.3 to be able to handle syncing a newer phone with iOS 7. The iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with syncing and is installed by the iOS.
Go to iTunes on the computer, click on Help, Check for updates to update iTunes on the computer, or go to to www.apple.com/itunes/download and download and install the latest version of iTunes to correct your problem.

  • When I tried to download some music to my IPhone off of my PC and it said "Should we trust this computer?" and I accidentally clicked Don't Trust. How do I fix it so it will trust my computer?

How do I fix this? I need this music downloaded so I can pratice for a play.

When you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new computer or another device attempting to access the files of your iOS device, you’ll be asked to verify that you trust the connected device. Tapping Trust will allow this device to access files stored on your iOS device.
If your iOS device is passcode locked, you need to unlock the device before you're asked to trust the connected computer or device.
    To trust a computer:
Connect the computer or other device to your iOS device.
If your iOS device is locked with a passcode, unlock it.
    Tap Trust.
If you're about to sync the device with iTunes, click Accept.
The trusted computer or device can access the files and settings of your iOS device. A trusted computer can sync with your iOS device, import photos, access movies and videos, contacts, and other such content, until you disconnect. The data stored on your iOS device is not exposed before you enter your passcode (if enabled) and choose to trust the connected computer or device.
If you choose not to trust the connected computer, you can charge your device, but the connected computer won't be able to access any content on your device.
    Additional Information
Note: If you select Trust, the computer will be trusted indefinitely. If you select Don't Trust, you will be asked if you want to trust that computer each time you connect your device to that computer.
RECONNECT IT AGAIN AND PRESS TRUST

  • HT5868 I accidentally selected [don't trust]

I acidentally selected [don't trust] but I want to change that and it's not prompting me anymore to selct [trust] or [don't trust].  Is there another way to change it?
    Thanks,
    Lee

    According to Apple:
"If you select Don't Trust, you will be asked if you want to trust that computer each time you connect your device to that computer."
Are you using a Passcode? If so, try unlocking the phone before connecting to your computer.

Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.

  • HT1212 What if the Iphone states it is disabled connect to I-tunes but you don't have a computer and the one you are using wants you to trust it but you can't because it doesn't give you the option on your phone because it is locked?

What if the I-Phone states it is disabled connect to iTunes and when you don't have a computer available that is sync with phone, but are using a different computer. You can't trust the computer from your phone because it is locked.  How do I gain access.

Maybe you should get new friends.
I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
iCloud: Erase your device - Apple Support
This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.

  • HT5868 It keeps saying 'Do you trust this computer' I press Trust each time?! And it doesn't connect?!

Please help: It says 'Do you trust this computer' I press 'Trust' each time?! It doesn't connect to my laptop. Why?? I have tryed resetting all settings but no. Restarting it but no.

Hmm.. Maybe you should authorize your pc in itunes.
Here is how to do that:
    Authorize Your Computer in iTunes
    1. Download the latest version of iTunes that's appropriate for your computer from theiTunes website. Try to avoid signing up for Apple's newsletter.
    2. Click the Store menu, and then select Authorize This Computer.
    3. A window will prompt you for your Apple ID and password. Fill in the appropriate information, and then click Authorize.
    4. After your submission, your computer will be authorized for playback, and a dialog box will indicate how many computers you have currently authorized to access your Apple account. If you have reached your limit, it's time to deauthorize another machine.
