Accidently 'Bounced' my own e-mail when testing

Hello guys!
Sounds pretty silly even me saying this, but I accidently just bounced one of my e-mails on Mail, I sent an e-mail to myself in reminder for something a while back, and was testing out some of the spam functionality I had when using this on my Mac, I clicked bounce on one of my own e-mails and totally understand that it sounds really silly to do so, but I got an e-mail stating that the e-mail was never received and that the message would go to the trash, the message isn't there, and i'm not sure if all my e-mails to myself, from myself, will appear somewhere different than my inbox?
Would be great to know, I only got my Mac a few weeks back and this one confused me a tad, is there any way to see a list of e-mail addresses of which you have bounced, or blocked in the past on Mail?
Thanks in advance. =]

You bounced one specific message. So what? It just means that one specific message was returned to sender (you yourself, in this case). It did nothing more than that.

Hi Platomey, I have the same problem with my Blackberry 9360 and so do several others who have posted on this site since around February 2012, but so far no answer from anyone on how to fix it.  I tried uninstalling & re-installing Hotmail but it made no difference.  My service supplier is Orange but I've seen the same problem on a Vodaphone forum, so it doesn't seem to be to do with the service.  Help us someone please!

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that.  You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible.   Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)

If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream
My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.
mannyace wrote:
Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.

• Intent_driven Interaction: Sending E-Mail when the Service Request is saved

Hi,
I would like to send automatically an E-mail when the Service Request is saved. I created a new policy within context "Intent Driven Interaction" . I chose the IC event "OrderSaved" and the relevant Business Roles.  In my rule I chose the condition "If current Event equals  Order was saved"  and  the action "Send out going E-Mail Using Mail Form".  I created an interaction profile that is assigned to the Service Manager Profile "IDI Default".
It does not work.  Any idea ? Is there a way to test this type of rule ?
Thanks a lot !!!

Thanks a lot for your fast response, unfortunately this is not what i was looking for.

• Only receive distribution group- mails when logged on.

Hi,
Is there a way to automatically disable mail-receiving for users when they are not logged on to the AD?
We use distribution groups to deliver mails to platform-agents.
Most of them only need to receive mails when they are at work.
Thanks for your ideas,

Hi Tester, sorry about the delay in response. I would like to understand your issue more and what you are trying to achieve.
Does the users need to receive emails sent to a distribution group (that they are part of) only during  8am to 5 pm? something like that?
The answer really depends on the setup that you have but for the most part, emails sent to Exchange and immediately processed and delivered to the respective mailboxes. Perhaps you can schedule email delivery from the outlook client - when someone is sending
the original email to the distribution.

• Why do I not receive iCloud e-mails when there is a specific group of "To:" addresses in the body of an e-mail

I noticed this when I started my iCloud e-mail account a few months ago. I am not receiving iCloud e-mails when there is a specific group of "To:" addresses in the body of an e-mail. I can receive the e-mail on my outlook & local cable providor e-mail accounts with all of the addresses listed. If I strip out the "To:" addresses and send it from my local cable providor e-mail account to my iCloud e-mail account than I will receive the e-mail in my iCloud account (minus all of the "To:" addresses that are in the body of the e-mail. This has caused me to miss a lot of e-mails.
Following is one of the e-mail that I can send from my cable providor account and not receive it in iCloud. If I strip out all of the "To:" addresses I will receive it in iCloud. I have a case open with Apple but it is not going anywhere. This occurs from multiple sending internet service providors (ISP's) so I think it's an Apple iCloud e-mail processing issue.

I've been having a very similar problem to what ziemsen describes, for about a week now. The Mail app has stopped delivering new messages to the Inbox, even though I can view the newly incoming messages on the server via Webmail. I am able to send email through Mail with this email account, and as for the other email accounts that I have on Mail (which are also hosted by the same server), I am able to both receive and send email with no problem.
None of the mail settings have been changed, so how this happened all of a sudden is very puzzling. I have checked Account Info on the problem account - Mail recognizes that there are messages that are on the server yet to be downloaded, but it won't download them.
I've checked what other users have suggested here in the Discussions Forum, and tried: 1) deleting the problem Mail account from Mail and re-adding it; 2) creating a new machine User account and setting up Mail with that User; 3) setting up Mail on another machine; 4) archiving and re-installing OS, and even 5) wiping the HD entirely and reinstalling the OS. None of these have worked.
Ernie, your suggestion of deleting the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file sounded like the solution to the problem, so I just tried it - but to no avail. Mail delivers messages that are on the server to my Inbox up until the same point that it always stops at, and there are almost 1000 new messages since then.
I am pretty lost at this point - I have no idea what else I can possibly do to resolve this problem. The strange thing is, when I tested my email accounts on Microsoft Entourage and Mozilla Thunderbird, they don't have this problem - both deliver all of my incoming mail. I may have no choice but to switch to one or the other at this point, but I'm attached to Mail and would really like to continue using it if I can. Any advice would be much much appreciated.
very best,
biteringo

• I have 2 hotmail accounts on my mail, when I send from one account I receive the reply in my other account, how can I stop this from happening?

I have 2 hotmail accounts in my Mac Mail, when I send from one account the reply comes back to the other hotmail account, how can I stop this?

You should be able to open both accounts.
I believe Hotmail T&C may expect you to have only one account, but possibly multiple alliases.
You may have problems opening two separate hotmail accounts at once in Firefox. Try using a new private browsing window for the second one. With any look that will separate them enough for you to use both at once.
(With other account holders permission.) I sometimes open my own and another persons hotmail account by that method.

numbers isn't launching mail when share is clicked-why?

It behave flawlessly here under 10.6.8
As I wrote yesterdays, try to apply this scheme :
quit the app
move the preferences file :
<startupVolume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Preferences:com.apple.iWork.Numbers. plist
on the Desktop
restart the app
What I did exactly :
create a new doc from a template
insert some values and formulas
save the file
close it
quit Numbers
restart Numbers
open the doc
menu Share > Send by Mail > Numbers
got a mail with the doc embedded as attachment
Back to the doc
menu Share > Send by Mail > PDF
got a mail with the PDF embedded as attachment
Close the doc
work upon an other one
open the doc
menu Share > Send by Mail > PDF
got a mail with the PDF embedded as attachment
Back to the doc
menu Share > Send by Mail > Excel
got a mail with the xls embedded as attachment
menu Share > Send by Mail > Numbers
got a mail with the doc embedded as attachment
You may also try to do the trick from an other account.
Doing that would tell us if the wrongdoer is in your user account or in the huge range of files shared by every accounts.

• Can we avoid commits to db when testing svcs using ud32

Hi,
I have a test service that does some updates to db without any commits in it.
Even though I don't provide -t parameter when testing the service using ud32,
I noticed that the updates are committed to the db even though the service errors.
Is there any way to use ud32 and avoid these updates.
Thanks
Kishore

Kishore,
When ud32 is invoked with the "-t timeout" option, any error return from tpcall() will cause tpabort() to be called.
Therefore, if the service you are calling is located in a group with OPENINFO and TMSNAME parameters specified, no updates should be made to the database if the service call fails. When an OPENINFO string is specfiied, Tuxedo takes care of opening and closing the database and committing or aborting transactions via the XA interface. This is the preferred way to manage transactions in Tuxedo and is needed if transactions will span multiple databases. When using XA the application should not code any EXEC SQL COMMIT WORK or similar statements on its own.
XA is not the only way to manage transactions in Tuxedo. In a group without OPENINFO specified and without TMS processes, the application takes care of opening and closing the database and managing transactions. Transactions may be committed either via explicit statements in the application or implicitly according to the rules of SQL or whatever other database interface is being used. In this case, a tpbegin(), tpcommit(), or tpabort() done in the Tuxedo client will not have any effect since the database updates are being done outside of a Tuxedo global transaction.
I suspect that the latter case may apply to to your application and this may be why you are seeing database updates even though the service fails.
One option to debug is to
export TMTRACE=*:ulog:dye
before invoking ud32. This will write messages to the userlog showing each ATMI or XA call that was performed in the ud32 client or in the server.

• Why does it say im using 3.8gb of mail when my mail is deleted?

why does it say im using 3.8gb of mail when my mail is deleted< yes even the trash

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Clarifications... when you say "... only  some calls..."  and "... someone says they called..." - are these all from from one caller?
After following all these fine suggestions and eliminating them systematically, consider that this kind of stuff is as old as the cellphone system. A few possibilities that occur to me just regarding the network system:
you are in a habitually dead spot area. I have one in my own house!
you travel through many of these dead zones (traditionally called 'low-coverage' areas) - remember how big a deal the coverage maps were to us?
there is an issue with your network service provider's back-end system (my first thought - above)
keep plugging away amigo! I'll bet you get this solved.

Hi Stephan,
unless we don't ask for it, please do not post this much content. This might be suitable for support messages, but not for this forum. There might be situations where you get asked for more information, but a post like this one just scares of anyone who might know an answer.
Also, your thread title does not give any information on your problem, as a "dump when testing web pages" can be anything.
I would suggest to re-state your question, just giving the information that others need.
I haven't worked with CRM, but I wonder if this is a custom application or a shipped one.
