Accidently deleted the files under $ORACLE_HOME/bin

Hi,
I am working on a HPUX ia64 machine wherein I have 2 Oracle Homes.
1. 11.1.0.7_1Q10 -> 11.1.0.7 patchset with CPUAPR2010 patch and
2. 11.1.0.7_3Q10 -> 11.1.0.7 with DATABASE PSU 11.1.0.7.4 (INCLUDES CPUJUL2010)
Accidently yesterday while dropping a database and deleting its sub folders, I unknowingly deleted the files under $ORACLE_HOME/bin. (11.1.0.7_3Q10)
The moment I realized the mistake, I cancelled (Ctrl+C) the operation. But by then, few files were already deleted!
Now I am planning to copy the missing files from the bin directory of the other Oracle Home (11.1.0.7_1Q10).
Is that a recommended solution. And will it work? I have around 5 databases in the affected home (11.1.0.7_3Q10). Is there a possibility of a disaster due to this situation?
Appreciate your thoughts on this!
Thanks!

As of now, I do not have the backup of the filesystem. Also I have copied the missing files from the bin directory of 11.1.0.7_1Q10.
Till now no application users have complained about any issues. The alert log of all 5 databases have no errors reported.
So I assume there shouldnt be any issues! And things should work as normal!

  • Can I delete the files under C:\Users\MyAccount\CS6 Master Collection\Adobe CS6

    After installation I've been left with a ton of files under C:\Users\Nathan\CS6 Master Collection\Adobe CS6 - 8.3GB.
Are these files actually needed? They seem to mostly be setup files. Can I just delete them after installation?

    Hi Nathan,
The default location for software installation is the program files folder and the default location for the extracted files is usually desktop from where the installation is initiated. You might have chosen the aforementioned folder for extraction.
If you have already installed the software you can go ahead and delete this folder.

    The file was not deleted.
How to delete the file with space in name?
    Help me

Use the form of exec that takes an array of command + args.
    arr[0] = "/bin/rm"
    arr[1] = "-f"
arr[2] = "/home/me/some directory with spaces";Or use ProcessBuilder, which is the preferred replacement for Runtime.exec, and which Runtime.exec calls.

  • Firefox wont now start under Windows8 - it thinks it is open - I can not uninstall as it thinks firefox is running - I can't delete the files manually either

Firefox was working ok my wife's computer for the last month under Windows 8. We just had to reinstall MS Office and now Firefox will not open. I tried deleting it through Control Panel, but that fails - it thinks the application is running. I tried deleting the files manually, but again failed as it thought a file was open. Helper will not open either.

Have you tried shutting down and restarting Windows since this problem started? Problems with uninstalling can be caused by a backup of deferred updates that Windows clears when it restarts.
But... to return to the problem of Firefox not starting, what are you seeing: Does it display an error message? Does it crash immediately?

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I have purchased a full copy of Adobe Acrobat Standard  software on  11th
of August 2014 (Order number: 8796780459).
I accidently deleted that file, and tried to download it from the
Adobe site with no success - Got a message directing to [email protected] that elaborates that the file is available for 60 days only. Webhelp at digitalriver has directed me to you
Please help me get a working link for download.

Since you don't give us any details like your operating system or Acrobat version, I can only direct you to a general download page https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html

  • I followed your help directions on "Corrupt extension files" under "Unable to install add-ons", foolishly deleting the files you told me to. Now firefox won't open. I tried reinstalling firefox but it still won't open. Now what do I do?

I was trying to install the SEOQuake add on. After clicking install Firefox would hang up saying the script had timed out and asking if I want to stop it or continue. Didn't matter which option I chose nothing would happen. The only way to stop it was to close Firefox and restart. Tried restarting the computer. Still wouldn't install. Tried installing the Outwit add on and got the same error leading me to conclude it was a problem with Firefox, not the add on. I found this help page <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons?s=addons+won't+install&as=s> and did everything it told me to. Finally at the end I got to "Corrupt extension files". I foolishly deleted the files you told me to and now Firefox won't even start! I tried reinstalling Firefox and it still won't start. Tried restarting the computer. I have no idea how to get back to where I was let alone install the add ons I wanted to install. Please help. At this point I'd just be happy to be able to get Firefox working.

See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br />

  • HT203200 Cannot delete the file from the itunes folder

I cannont delete the file from the itunes folder because it tells me I need permission to do so.  I am the admin person for the laptop plus I have checked my permissions under the security tab in the files properties.  How do I delete this file to start again?  It downloaded 1.2GB of the file before the error message appeared, so its paid for and all but not looking like I'll get to watch it before the time runs out on the movie being available for me to watch. :-(

Try deleting the file without iTunes running.
When you next open iTunes it should then be marked as a missing file and you should be able to delete the entry from iTunes.
    Hope this works
    Regards,
    Colin R.

  • How can i restore the files which are important to me which i suddenly delete the files in download?

i nid to restore the file which i suddenly delete in download.. i was about to delete the files which are not important but i suddenly delete the files which are important... how can i restore it??

Check the Windows recycle bin, you may be able to recover the files from there. Right-click on the recycle bin icon on the desktop and select Open. This will open Explorer, if the files are listed there, right-click on them and choose Restore.
If the files are not in the recycle bin, you can try a file recovery utility such as recuva - http://www.piriform.com/recuva

  • I have accidently deleted the App store icon off my home page, how do I get it back, do I need to re down load?

I have accidently deleted the App store icon off my home page, how do I get it back do I nave to re download??

Swipe through your screens and swipe to the left of your Home screen. Type in App Store in the search field. It's a permanent pre installed Apple app so it can't be deleted.
If you can't locate it on the iPad for some reason, connect the device to your computer. Right or control click the iPad under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click: Restore from backup

  • Can't open new Lion Mail? - Try delete the file "Envelope index"!

Problem: can't start Mail.app after installing Lion. Mail.app repeatedIy crash when you accept the database upgrade.
    Possible solution:
In Finder use Go to Folder... and type "~/Library/Mail".
Delete the index file "Envelope index".
Start Mail and it should work nicely.
If you fear to delete it, move it to the Desktop. Go to step 3. If Mail works, it's safe to delete the file.
This simple solution is found on many comments in this forum.

FIXED!  My case was just successfully closed with Apple and I am now able to see my mail in Lion.  It took 2 days for Apple to come up with the resolution, and I was told that there were other cases of a siimilar nature reported.
Here's what fixed it for me.  The problem had something to do with smartmailboxes, which I use in my mail.
Close the Mail app and confirm it is closed.
Open a Finder window.  Hold down the Option key while clicking Go along the top menu bar in the Finder window and click on Library.
Navigate to the mail library under your user name.  In one of the subfolders, you will find 1 or more files named smartmailboxes.plist.  There may be a file name similar to that with "backup" in the name, as well.
Drag each of those files to your desktop and ensure they are no longer in your mail library folders.
Restart Mail.  (Those .plist files will be re-built automagically.)
This fixed my problem and I was then able to delete those plist files from my desktop.  It did take a little while for the .plist files to regenerate, though.
    Good luck with your fix.

  • Should not unzip file under $ORACLE_HOME

    OS:AIX 5.2
    OS: Linux 86
    E.G:
    echo $OARCLE_HOME
    /opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/database
I am applying Patch 4505133_10105 on my above two servers.
I have downloaded p4505133_10105_LINUX.zip or AIX.zip and move to /opt/oracle.
In my uderstanding , I should not unzip file under $ORACLE_HOME or $ORACLE_HOME.
I need to do as follows:
    cd /opt/oracle/Disk1
    ./runinstalleris it ok?
    Please confirm
    DN

You can unzip it to any directory, need not be the one under ORACLE_HOME. But during installation, you need to specify the correct ORACLE_HOME path, the one to be patched.

I cannot download Mavericks. Every time the file download stops a message appears that says the file is damaged and cannot be used to install Mavericks. I delete the file, download again and the same message appears. What can I do?

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

  • Pressing command-z deletes the files even if there is no restore location

I have copied some photos from sd card to my mac. Then I deleted the files from sd card and removed it to take more photos. While my friend was taking pictures somehow accidently I pressed the command-z. Then whole folder just disappeard. I didn't even get any notification that telling me "cannot find restore location" or " files will be deleted". Folder just disappeared in 1 second. They are not in the trash also.
Where did they go? Are they in some sort of temporary storage? How can I get them back?
SD Card is already full with other images so recovery program couldn't bring the old files back. Recovering on the computer might take so long time since I have 500gb hard drive. Is there a fast way to get files back?

I cannot try it now for that folder since i did other copy oparations. But I did it with another file to try. I copied file from usb drive. Then I removed my usb drive and pressed command-z. File disappeared then I pressed command+shift+Z. A notification popped up "The operation can't be completed because it isn't supported".

  • Accidently deleted the Adobe PDF printer from the Printer List

    Hi Guys,
I have accidently deleted the 'Adobe PDF printer' from the Printer List and am now unable to print any files to PDF from any application.
Any ideas of how to get it back?
    Cheers, Nosaj68.
    Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Nosaj68
    Welcome to Discussions.
    1. In Applications/Utilities/Printer Setup Utility, select Add printer and reinstall it.
    2. If you can't find this file, reinstall Adobe Acrobat and that should put it back again for you.
