Accordian widget scrollbar to publish in Captivate 7

Does anyone know how to get the Accordian widget scrollbar to publish? I'm using Captivate 7 and the interactive widget called Accordian. If your text in the box is too long, a small scroll bar should show up on the right. Only when I publish, it doesn't show up. I'm publishing as a SWF with Flash 11. I've tested it and a few computers can see it and some can't. Any help out there would be much appreciated.

Preview from this slide does nothing, and does not show an error message.
When I try to publish to SWF I get this message:

  • Scrollbar in published exe file

Hello, can anyone tell me, of it is possible to publish a
project to a .exe with a scrollbar?
Because in our company there are some people with 15" screens
and now they don't see the bottom of the full screen *.exe
I hope there is a way to scroll within the published exe
    file.
    kind regards,
    Bill

    Welcome to our community, Bill
First off, there is no way I'm aware of to include a scroll
    bar like that.
Computer screens are just like TV screens. If a person with a
21 Inch monitor views something, it simply appears larger than it
appears on a 15 inch monitor.
What is at play here is something called
Resolution. While for TV screens, the only thing that really
comes into play is the size, with Computer monitors you care about
resolution. Resolution is how finely the divisions occur with the
display units. These are called PixEls, which is a combination of
Picture and Elements. So often, smaller screens use a lower
    resolution, hence the issue.
You may wish to consider Publishing the Captivate as a SWF
and only linking to the SWF. While that would probably impact the
quality of the end user's experience, it should accomplish the
goal. So instead of opening a .EXE, the user would open a .SWF in
    the browser.
Hopefully this was helpful. If not, it was intended to be.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Publishing in Captivate 5

I've been attempting to publish a Captivate 5 project using any of the publishing features available and nothing will publish.  I'm receiving a "publish failed" for the SWF file, the exe won't execute and the F4v file locks up at 41%.  I'm running a Windows 7 machine and have cleared the cache among other suggestions I've read on this site.  Nothing seems to be working.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

I attempted this and yes, it finally worked.  Thank you so much!  I was losing my mind.  Have a great day.  Sharon

  • Template update of accordian widget

When I make changes to the accordian widget in the template these changes are not updated on the pages made from the template. Any ideas?

My guess is that you have it in an editable region of your template.  When you make a change and save, it does not update the child pages. You might be able to make the changes, go up to Modify | Templates | Apply Template to Page...but that is a guess.
If your accordian is a menu, having it in an editable region is not very productive.
Your best bet is to post a link to one of the child pages so people can see the code.

  • Every time I publish my captivate 6, the backgrounds change? Anyone have this problem? Or a solution

I am trying to publish my captivate 6 simulation. I just published it, the backgrounds keep changing or don't pull through and I have a blank screen. Any solutions to this problem?

    Hello,
Is this 6.0.1.240? In that case check the slide quality, and if it is the default Low, change to Optimized (new default since 6.1.319).
Moreover uncheck all compression settings in Preferences, Project, SWF size and Quality. And check 'Force re-publish all slides' when publishing.

  • Getting a black screen when publishing in Captivate 4.

I am getting a black screen when publishing in Captivate 4. I have noticed patches that care for this with later versions, but is there something available for version 4.

Thank you for your reply, I work for Citi and am personally unable to make decisions about updating our Flash player version. Is there a patch for this issue for Captivate 4?

Hi there, Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the same. Try updating your Flash Player to the latest version and then republish the project. This black screen issue was first discovered few months ago after the first Flash Player 10 release.  The link to download the latest version of flash is here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/  Newer versions of Flash Player do not result in the same issue.  Thanks!Shekhar

    Hi There,
Can you tell me the Operating System and Captivate version you are using?
Also can you confirm if you are getting this issue will this one project or all the projects? Try to copy paste this project on a new blank project and then try to publish.

  • Error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003

Is anyone else getting an error message when publishing from Captivate 4 to MS Word 2003?  I tried all 4 types and still get the following:
"An error was encountered while publishing to Word.  Verify the following and try again.  Word is installed on your system.  Word is not busy."
Word is installed on my system and was not in use, so I am not sure why the error.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there
I use Captivate 4 and it publishes to Word 2003 without issues.
Perhaps it has to do with the way your Word 2003 has been installed? Either that or it's a "rights" issue to be addressed by your IT propellerheads?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Spry Accordian Widget

OK, I'm thinking this may be impossible to explain, but here
goes. I have a simple table. I install a Spry Accordian widget to
one of the table's columns, and the whole table (the who page
actually) explodes laterally, breaking apart pictures, and
segmenting what was just a simple table. What gives here? Any help
    is MOST appreciated!!

add the option defaultPanel:-1 to the constructor
    var bla = new
    Spry.Widget.Accordion('id',{defaultPanel:-1});

  • Captivate 6 project will not preview or publish in Captivate 7

I have a project created in Captivate 6 that will not preview or publish in Captivate 7. I can make edits to it and save in Captivate 7 though. Does anyone know what may be occurring here?

Preview from this slide does nothing, and does not show an error message.
When I try to publish to SWF I get this message:

  • I have a course in Captivate 6, when I try to publish in captivate 8 the actions of the buttons disappear

I have a course in Captivate 6, when I try to publish in captivate 8 the actions of the buttons disappear
i feel very concerned, because the work it's hard

I was able to resolve this without support.  I identified the slide where the course stopped playing and the ppt from which the slide background was located.  Even though the ppt deck in the Captivate library showed that the ppt was to date, I updated the ppt anyway and that resolved the issue.
The course would stop playing at the same slide, and didn't allow me to advance to any slides beyond that slide using the TOC, I simply got a blank gray screen, refreshing the course in the browser caused the course to start over from the beginning and it would stop at the same slide.  Refreshing the ppt allows the course to play through and the TOC now allows navigation.

  • What's the right/best way to publish from Captivate 7 for use in Presenter 9

Just upgraded to captivate 7 and have presenter 9.  We are updating some old training courses created using Presenter with demos created in Captivate.  I've gotten as far as upgrading the old .cp files to .cpx files and now am ready to publish the files within Captivate so I can import them into Presenter 9.
When I hit 'publish' in captivate there are options to publish as .swf and/or .html5.  So I am trying to fugre out what will work best given what I'm trying to do.    In presenter I don't see an option to import HTML5, only video files or .swf files, is that correct?  in which case i need to publish as .SWF files?  Is that the best way to do it in order to be able to import into Presenter 9?
If that's the case, and I need to have .SWF files, how do I choose which Flash Player version I want to use when I publish the files in Captivate?  It's got the drop down box containing Flash 10, 10.2 and 11.  My instinct would be to use the newest (flash 11).  Is that correct?  If not, why would I want to use a lower Flash version?
    thank you!

    Hi,
You can publish to either as .mp4 (Go to publish >Media >Mp4 ) or .swf from Captivate 7. In presenter 9 you do have an option to either import .swf or .mp4 files. See the image below to import these two formats in presenter:

  • Accordian widget only triggers on click, and not mouse-over

I cannot get my accordian widget to behave properly. I have created a drop-down menu off my main nav that I want to trigger (or accordian down) upon mouse-over, and go back up after I have clicked a menu item. Right now the accordian will only open when I CLICK the menu, and only closes when I click again (which is crazy annoying).
How can I set the states for the accordian???
    Thank you!

I would like to know the answer to davidgb's question as well.

  • Why can't the Accordian widget's drop down box span full width in mobile layout?

I'm trying to create a simple drop down navigation for mobile. When the entire header is clicked, it expands down to reveal a dynamic vertical menu, which will cover the page content below, not push it down.
I've taken an accordian widget and added a vertical navigation widget (to allow dynamic navigation) into the expanded area. When I preview it, the drop down box of the accordian widget doesn't span the full width of the site width (380px). It stops 5-10px short of the right edge, which is a small detail, but it annoys me, and is not how I have it set up in design view. There is no other content on the page, just this element. When I have elements extend off the page area, it somehow affects the amount of space the drop down area stops short from and adds more. Strange again. Kind of stumped as to if/how I can fix this.
    Screenshot attached.

The code taht you have shown is not the template, it is a document that has been created from a template and renamed with a dwt extension.
If you load the document into DW then go to menu item Modify->Templates->Detach from Template and save the file, you will have your original template called index.dwt and located in the Templates subdirectory.
