According to 800-MY-APPLE, if you bought a 1.1.2 Touch after Macworld...
what I was told was NOT to buy the upgrade from iTunes (I'm currently involved in a situation where I did this exact thing w/ a Touch i bought the day after jobs' announcement). The guy I talked to said there's an "internal" something-or-other that they will set up to get the 1.1.3 update to you free. Apparently, you would call in, give them the serial, they would do something with that serial and the next time you hooked into iTunes, it would update "free." Having already taken the other course, I cannot vouch for this, but he seemed to have readily accessible info (i.e. he didn't go to a manager) suggesting this was the new SOP.
So, bottom line, call before you pay for (maybe even download) the 1.1.3 update. And I'm assuming this would apply to retail purchases, not just Apple online. If you have already paid the $20 for the update and you purchased after macworld (or maybe even 14 days before) please call and politely ask for a refund. Your granny wasn't lying when she said "you get more flies with honey than vinegar."
Please do not use this thread as a place to air your complaints. I am merely posting as a service to the community.<</div>
Having already taken the other course, I cannot vouch for this
That would mean I have not done this.

Where should I bring my Iphone 5?
UAE. Be advised that many iPhones sold in the Middle East are grey market
items intended for other areas. Warranty and battery replacement will be
available only in country of original purchase, which may not be where you
bought the iPhone.
What is the model number of your iPhone? Settings=>General
=>About=>Model. You may have to scroll to see the entry for Model. -

How do I remove an iPhone 4 that was turned in to Apple when I bought an iPhone 5 from Find My iPhone, when it will no longer be connected to the Internet? It is currently pending erasure
See this Apple doc -> iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone
All you have to do is browse to iCloud on your computer, click devices, then the X next to your devices name. -
Hi All,
First ever post on here but I feel that my options are slowly running out. I've just bought a second hand iPod Touch 32GB 4th Gen. It was reset to factory settings meaning that that software was 4.3.5
As soon as I plug it into iTunes it asks me to update to the latest version. I click for it to go ahead but the connection times out (error code 3259)
I've been on the phone to apple for over an hour and we still couldn't resolve the issue. We tried disabling the firewall, uninstalling AVG, diabling pop up blockers, checking the LAN settings, disabling the router security and anything else we could think of.
We still couldn't get it to stop timing out. I tried to download the firmware from iClarified but iTunes said it didn't recognise the software.
Has anyone got any ideas? You said:

Just what did yo do to gt iTunes to see the download: -
I am unhappy with 1-800-my-apple gave me where can I get customer service?
I bought a Macbook Pro back in May for university, but not from an apple store and just under a month later the deal to get a free Ipod touch with your new mac was introduced. when I called 1-800-my-apple I was extremely unsatisfied with their help. They said the only way to get my ipod was to return my computer and buy it from an apple store. So I tried that but I had also bought iworks and would have to forfeit the $100 I had paid on iworks. So i called 1-800-my-apple again and this time they said to try to get the retailer to honour it. But by this point it was over the return policy and they said they couldn't that apple should. I called 2 more times and instead just got really vague completely unsatisfactory answers. It ****** me off that I had to keep going back and forth when I feel like I had a pretty straight forward and legitimate request. It is kind of late to get the ipod I want so I just want to know where I can voice my frustration and where to go next time I have a problem since 1-800-my-apple was no help.
i agree that apple cust. support is a joke, the people don't know the product at all.
Golly, gee whiz - really?
Then how come Apple consistently gets top ratings in the industry for its support? A sampling from recent years -

I can't register my apple mac mini bought by ebay
i can't register my apple mac mini bought by ebay
Just what are you doing?
The Apple Product Registration website is closed.
If you’re trying to register an Apple product, chances are it’s already registered. Most Apple products can be registered when you turn them on for the first time and begin the setup process. Service and support for your Apple product are linked to its serial number, so it’s OK if you don’t register it. If you'd like to check the service and support coverage for your Apple mobile device or computer, click here. -
How do you service an iPod touch with apple but you didn't buy it at apple
Well bought my iPod touch at costco w/dead pixels. Is it possible to service it with apple? If so, Is it free? How reliable is it? How fast is it?
Apple covers service for all ipods, no matter where you bought it. And yes the service is free. I just got a replacement back on monday and went out last wednesday. I consider that pretty fast. Mine still has a problem though. =/

If you bought the iPod touch from somebody and then you locked yourself out of it what should I do because the guy didn't give me his iTunes password?
Sounds like the Activation Lock (iOS 7) is working as designed. It determs theft since y have to know the APple ID's passward to use/restore the iPod foro use. Unless you can get the password you have a nice but thin brick. Likely the iPod was stolen

I just bought a new iMac and I am new to the Desktop Mac. I read you can get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion if you bought your computer after June 11, 2012. Do I have to do something before Mountain Lion is released? If so What? Thanks
Just check in with this link when ML is released for instructions on how to claim your upgrade.

If i payed to have money in my count, why didn't work to update my games after you bought them?
Do not install MacKeeper:

I just a ipad from someone and it's still under someone else's account
What you have encountered is a security feature called activation lock. An iPad running iOS 7 cannot be reset to a new user without the previous owner releasing the device by turning off Find My iPhone or entering their Apple ID and password.
The best thing you can do is to try an contact the person you bought the iPad from and get a refund. Chances are the iPad was stolen. -
