Accordion effect for horizontal tabs

Hello,
Can someone give me direction on how or if the Spry Framework
can take a horizontal row of tabs and create an accordion effect in
the same footprint below the tabs? I'm looking to create a row of
graphical tabs and then based on which tab is selected a panel
reveals it's self below the row of tabs in an accordion fashion.
Is this possible or am I looking at a "roll your own"
solution or some other effect / framework?

Look for "bad TV" or "rewind" presets on ze web. There are a couple of them available, either from tutorials or direct downloads. There are even plug-ins (GenArts Sapphire, Digieffects, Boris Continuum) in many effects packages. Of course you can always build your own from effects like Venetian Blinds, Fractal Noise, various channel and distortion effects. All depends on your experience and what specific look you're after.

Need help with scroll effects for horizontally + vertically scrolling website

Hi,
I recently came across a website that uses both horizontal and vertical scrolling where 1 scroll = full browser length move to the next section (as opposed to several rotations in a continuous motion of the mouse ball like the majority of websites). Please see the example here because I'm probably not explaining this very well : A Chocolate Bar, Restaurant and Shop for Chocolates, Fondue, Gift Boxes, and More | Max Brenner (http://maxbrenner.com).
I'm wondering if this effect is something that can be done in Muse and if so, how to do it. It's something I'm seeing more and more and almost behaves like a slideshow that can be controlled by scrolling.

I am afraid that this is not possible out of the box at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on the ideas section over here, Ideas for features in Adobe Muse
You can, in the mean time, use some CSS to disable the scroll bar, preventing the partial scrolling of the page and disabling the mouse wheel scrolling as well, leaving behind only your navigation to scroll through the page.

Hexadecimal - Horizontal Tab

Hi,
I need to write a file as tab delimited on the application server. I've tried the following two methods to achieve this:
- data: tab_hex(2) type X Value '09'. ( Can't use this as the app server is using
                                                       AIX a flavor of UNIX.)
- CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB (The client is running version
                                                                            4.6C, so this is not available.)
Does anyone know the hexadecimal for horizontal tab in Unix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this an EBCDIC system?
IBM systems (AIX is IBM's flavor of Unix) frequently use EBCDIC.
If it is EBCDIC tab would be hex 05, I believe.
e.g.
data: tab_hex(2) type X Value '05'.

Effect for making horizontal TV screen lines

I want to put part of a video in speeded up reverse and also add the lines so it looks like an old video tape fast reversing.
Is there a preset effect for this in AE CS5?

How do you add a horizontal tabbed panel within the eCommerce "Individual-Product-Large" page?

I am a new user to Business Catalyst and Muse web design... So sorry if this seems like a daft question
I have created a website in Muse.
Then I created the template page that BC can reference for the eCommerce area and inserted the tag to hold content from the BC - {tag_pagecontent}.
I then created products and catalogues, grouped products etc - all groovy. Working great.
I then decided that it was time to style the page as per my design - snap shot below (similar to how i did for the blog - which works great).
So i started with the page layout.
I managed to move the content from left to right and change widths, i then started to try to create the tabbed section in the same way and ba bowwwwww - epic fail
I want to use a "Horizontal Tabbed Widget" as per the one i picked from Muse.
I have a LOT of information that is unique for each product, so rather than have this huge page, its just easier to show it this way - plus it seemed pretty standard on other eCommerce site...
But I am stumped.
I'm so confused, i thought if i copied what seemed like a standard on other sites it would be fairly easy, especially since Muse has the Horizontal Tabbed widget - i though it would just come over to BC.
Except, i can't get it to work...
I'm not sure what i am doing wrong?
A) I would like the "Individual-Product-Content" to look like the Horizontal Tabbed Widget in the screen shot of the original design from inside Muse below - im sure its possible.
The Tabbed section is unique to the product, as is the description and the little icons bottom left and the ingredients.
B) then the next conundrum is that each tab would have unique text to the product it is showing, how do i add those fields into the BC Product menu where the product is created and added to catalogues etc.
I have searched and searched the web and have found nothing that is helpful.
Anything that i have found only does a portion of what i need.
I found something on jQuery - should i be using this?
Or can i create the same thing using CSS?
Or should i be combing jQuery with the BC Web Apps?
I'd really just like help where i can be pointed in the direction of the instructions to achieve this.
I even downloaded the BC instruction manual, which also has nothing.
I'm sure that the answer is very very simple - but i'm just not experienced enough and after a week of trying to find the solution i thought i'd ask the experts!
I really do appreciate anyone who takes the time to help me out.

I am using Adobe Business Catalyst to build the eCommerce component of the site. This is where i came a cropper.
I'm not using Bootstrap or Foundation. I have done a little research on both and am wondering how easy it is to add the tabbed section to Business Catalyst with Bootstrap? nothing really explains this online...
I'm also wondering how easy it is to put in custom information in the tabbed sections when the fields and tags are not available in Business Catalyst.
Do you know if i can add custom fields and new tags in Business catalyst when you add products in BC?
I'm sure you can but i can't find any reference to this online either?

Spry tabbed panels - Different Hover Class for each tab

Already posted this in the general Dreamweaver section, but just realized there was a specific Spry section. So, my apologies for the repost.
I'm setting up spry tabbed panels, and I'm wanting to use an image for each tab, with the text already on it. I've figured this much out by creating a different class for each in the spry tabbed panel css.
However, I'd also like to have a second hover image for each tab. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up separate classes for each tab's hover state.
Any help?

Accordion effect, need help...

Heya,
So I want to create an extremely simple accordion effect. I
tried styling the default accordion component but I couldn't remove
the Halo styling to it, so unless someone can tell me how to do
that I'm looking for basic AS to show and hide a particular MC on

Hi Spencer,
Getting away from halo (something I've been working at for
the last three days) isn't simple, but it's definitely doable.
First, I followed the instructions in Flash help on *creating
a new theme.* As part of those instructions, you'll copy two files:
default.as and AccordionHeaderSkin.as. Through trial and error, you
can fiddle with these two files and pretty much completely define
your own colors, fonts, etc. for all components. I changed my open
header to a gradient, and the closed headers to a different
gradient. It has worked much better and more reliably than using
the getStyle approach.
Search for "theme" and "styles" in help, and follow the
instructions--they worked for me.
But once you get it all hooked up properly and can see your
changes when you Publish Preview your movie, don't freak out if you
make changes to the .as files that don't show up right away. I
found I had to close Flash and open again before most changes
appeared.

Navigation bar different colors for each tab

I want to have the top horizontal navigation bar with different background colours for each tab on the bar.
I don't want to change the background colour for the entire navigation bar. How do I change them individually?

As far as I know it is difficult to change background color of top navigation link OOTB, better to create a html menu for that and add it to your page .In that you can easily change background color of your top navigation link.

As placing accordion panel in horizontal direction

I have a small problem I put the accordion panel in horizontal direction but do not know how it can be used only in a vertical or too horizontal? I await your prompt response is that I am finishing my page and I need to put the accordion in a horizontal position and do not like, I leave a picture of what you want.
Note: The image was altered in adobe photoshop that is why the accordion is flat, I did to recreate that is exactly what I want.

How Do I force SPRY accordion to position active tab at top of browser?

I am using the 'goToByScroll' script to try to force an accordion to open with the active accordion tab at the top of the browser window instead of the top of the entire accordion appearing at the top of the browser window. I believe the Accordion default setting of placing the accordion at the top of the browser window is interfering with the script. Does anyone know how to modify the JS file to stop the accordion positioning when a tab is selected? If I select the first panel it opens fine, but the second panel opens about half way down. Thanks for your reply. This appears to disable the goToByScroll functionality which I want to work. Apologies if my original post was confusing, but I believe it is the default browser position action of the Accordion that I think I want to disable.
If you click on the first accordion item it opens at the top of the browser window correctly, however if you then select the second tab beneath it the content scrolls up about half way above the top of the browser window. This problem could be unrelated to the default accordion position behaviour, however I've pretty much tried everything else to fix this!
The tabs are quiter large, and all I really want is for the active tab to be at the top of the browser window, not the entire accordion. Would prefer to use goToByScroll but will happily ditch it if this is not possible.

Text Effects for iMovie

I am looking for some plug-in text effects for iMovie 08, I could settle for iMovie HD 6 or Final Cut Express. Specifically I am looking text bubbles or comic bubbles.
Can anyone help me in my search?

iMovie '08 does not currently have a "plug-in" architecture compatible with plug-ins.
I could settle for iMovie HD 6 or Final Cut Express.
iMovie HD v6.0.4 is available as a free download to iLife '08 owners.

I want the cursor to be in the address bar when creating a new window; it works for new tabs and in a new private window, but not in safe mode.

I have tried following the advice offered in the few different threads I have found on this but nothing fixes it. I want the cursor to be in the address bar when I open a new window and/or when firefox opens without restoring a previous session. I fixed the issue for new tabs via about:config but this doesn't work for new windows. I tried safe mode and the problem persists. In new private windows the cursor is in the address bar.

The search box in about:home steals the cursor. Changing your home page to something else will cause the cursor to start in the address bar for new windows.

When closing Firefox windows, I would like a warning before the last window closes. The about:config settings do nothing. There is a warning for multiple tabs..

I do not use tabs... just windows... I have a mouse button programmed for that. It is really irritating to have to restart Firefox all the time and then open the history window because no warning was issued!

This is ridiculous. I've had this problems for years now and I'm finally walking away from Firefox. I use my keyboards more than my mouse, and how many times does your finger slip and hit Command Q instead of W. How come FF can't reset something as trivial as this? So many people are having problems with this?
Feels like FF has become too big, too slow and just not cooperative anymore. What a shame, I've been using Netscape/Firefox for 13 years. This is silly.

When I open a new tab, I have to move to the other side of the page to click "home". Can I set the same "home" default for new tabs?

Try using the Software Update on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Software Update. One thing to keep in mind if you are trying it on the computer is to make sure that you are not pressing any keys down when checking for updates as that may bring up a pop up window to find the update file.
