Account Admin & Fonts

After changing the Account Admin name on the Mac desktop, I found that all of the User fonts are no longer available.  I was unaware that by changing the user name, all of the files on my computer and fonts would be rearranged. Where did they go and can I easily reinstall them? Or can I convert back to the previous user name so that everything is where it was? Thanks for your help!

I was able to find them and reinstall

my itunes keeps asking me to set my permissions.  they are set to read and write for all accounts, admin, everybody, etc.  don't know why it won't let me download

Ever find a real solution to this? I just posted something similar - been having the issues ever since I started using the mac.
I have 5 mac accounts: 2 of those are admins.
After I installed every program I may possibly want, I redid all my user accounts (as I had been having a lot of permissions issues before that). My (admin) account downloads fine. Another admin account, set up exactly as mine, periodically gets prompted that it doesn't have the right to download.
To avoid duplication, I have a /common/music directory for all itunes accounts music. We have to periodically do a recursive permissions deal on the 2nd admin account so it can put music there, even though that directory is read/write for everyone. Apple's never been able to help me on this...

  • Google account admin receives EVERY iCal entry, from everyone in the org, whether or not invited

We use google for our organizational email, and our account admin has just begun receiving emails every time someone adds or alters an event in their own calendar.
We have checked and unchecked every box. We have removed and re-added all the calendars. No change. Also, it's only happening to one of two people designated as admin on the account.
    Thanks for any help!

  • Weird Account Admin error

    Hi there,
Im getting the following error when I try to add a new AdobeID as a user, "The email address you entered is already a Digital Publishing user. Please choose a different Adobe ID or create a new Adobe ID for the user."
However, the email doesnt actually appear in the list of current users.
    Any advice?
    thanks
    dw

It means that the Adobe ID you are trying to add is already provisioned for DPS but it's not part of your owner-delegate hierarchy. EIther the user with that Adobe ID signed up as  DPS customer during pre-release or they were part of another contract. The path of least resistance is to create a new adobe ID for that user. The longer path is to contact gold support and have them try and modify the account to remove DPS from it so you can add it in again using the account admin portal.

  • Since changing account name fonts have gone bold in Safari 3.1

I've renamed the admin account on my eMac, which proved to be a bad idea.
Since I've got everything back all of my Safari fonts have changed. The default font appears different and most of the link boxes are heavy bold black rather than light bold blue.
Any ideas why this has happened.
From earlier discussions I have validated my Font Book app and resolved duplicates. Restarted, but the prob remains.
    Thanks.

  • How do I create a new user account (Admin) on iPad3 iOS 6.1.3?

No, iOS devices are single user, there are no accounts.

  • Adobe ID's not showing up in DPS Account Admin dashboard??

I have developed a magazine app using the companies DPS subscription.
Our app has a subscription model, so I need to specify the shared secret information with our Adobe account to enable the subscription to work within the viewer app.
When I go to the Account Administrator dashboard (logged in as the master account), the master account ID does not show up. I can add other Adobe ID's to the dashboard, but I cannot see (and therefore configure) the Master account.
    Help would be much appreciated.

Your master account shouldn't be one you use to publish content. Please contact [email protected] and explain the problem. You will probably need to pick a new master account and have the account associated with this title moved under it as a delegate account so you can see it in the Admin dashboard.

  • Acrobat Pro 7 self-heal problem - 10.4.x standard account admin permissions

    Hi,
Installed Acrobat Pro 7 as part of Adobe CS 2 - one brand-new G5, and one erase-and-new-install of Tiger 10.4.6 and all apps on a G4 eMac. Same problem on both.
When in a standard user account, repeatedly on launch (apparently during the install/heal step) Acrobat requests administrator password. It fails there without it. And if you give it, it is required again the next time you launch. Permissions repair, etc., and re-install did not help. Nothing came up at the official Adobe support knowledgebase.
Found http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20060224083356302 which suggested manually editing the Root/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/CS2ENUProSelfHeal.xml file (changing instances of "Bib" to "BIB" in some .frameworks).
The Adobe User-to-User forums at http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?[email protected]@.3bbede30 discussed editing additional files inside the Acrobat application package (Adobe Acrobat Professional/Contents/MacOS/AcroENUProSelfHeal.xml and /CS2ENUProSelfHeal.xml), as well as others that the Acrobat installer puts inside of Safari - once again for Bib/BIB.
All this apparently to prevent some sort of cyclical self-break/self-heal that needs admin permission on every launch of the app - the problem appearing to be (with OS X case sensitivity) that app looks for and (re)writes individual files by "different" names in various places (i.e. "AdobeBibUtils.framework" vs "AdobeBIBUtils.framework) in this app.
These edits didn't work in my case. I wonder if any other files might also need to be changed - in fact I saw Bib/BIB use inside of some other CS2 app related files as well.
Would rather not permit general admin access to public machines. Would rather not edit application files. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

  • Server Admin font size??

How do I increase the font size of the Server Admin log viewer? It is so small I can't read it.
Is this Apple's way of punishing me for having a big screen?

You can't; this is set when the form is created.
But you may use the Zoom function to enlarge the entire document.

  • Screen Sharing Broken for Network Account Admins Mac OS X Server

    Re: OS X 10.8.4, Server.app 2.2.1
After replacing a failed Airport Extreme -- and the resulting changes in server IP address -- Screen sharing is now broken for "Network" account administrators. "Local" adminstrators can screen share successfully.
When logging in as a Local Admin, the System Log contains a single entry:
Authentication: SUCCEEDED :: User Name: localadmin :: Viewer Address: 10.0.1.6 :: Type: DH
When logging as a Network Admin, a similar line appears:
Authentication: SUCCEEDED :: User Name: testnetwork :: Viewer Address: 10.0.1.6 :: Type: DH
followed by screen-fulls of other log messages, eventually ending -- a minute or two later -- with:
    screensharingd[77693]: uid 1034 not found
screensharingd[77693]: unable to get width and height of display.
at which point the client sees a "Error: Network connection lost." alert. 1034 is the UID of "testnetwork", as seen in
    dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -list /Users UniqueID
So apparently, Network users are authenticated, but screensharingd cannot find the user.
changeip -checkhostname returns "success". Just to be sure, I  "Updated the Host Name" as suggested by the "Network Configuration Has Changed" alert in Server.app -- problem remains.
How does one debug this? Are there more comprehensive debug logging options available for screensharingd or login window? Anyone else seen this problem?

    Linc: thanks for your inquiry.
Here are more steps I've taken to solve this problem:
    1) From a Time Machine backup to a test partition, I restored the server from before the failure of the base station and found that the login problems were present then.
    2) On yet another test partition, I created from scratch a new OS X Server. Added a local administrator, and a network admistrator and discovered the same problem: network administrators cannot screen share, although in this case, they are simply unauthorized.
Using dscl, things look OK: there is a /Local/Default/Groups/com.apple.access_screensharing that lists only the admin group, and the admin group contains networkAdmin.
Furthermore, I can log in as the networkadmin from the login window, as "Other".
Furthermore, I can ssh into the server using the networkadmin credential.
I used odutil to boost the logging OpenDirectory log level. The logs are very verbose, but to my eyes, it looks like OD recognizes the networkUser, but screensharingd fails to authorize. See logs below.
Can someone confirm that screen sharing from network admin accounts works at all? Is there a way to elevate screensharingd logging to find out more about why it rejects network admins?
    TIA

  • User account 'admin' has been suspended. (BODI-3012028)

    Hi,
Has anyone run into this problem above?
I am trying to log into DS through Management Console using the "Admin" account, I know the password is correct and I checked the AL_ASUSERS account in the Repository to make sure the account is "Active" but I still cannot log in.
Any idea on how to resolve this?
    TIA
    Lynne

User credentials for the Management Console are held in the admin.xml file in the %LINK_DIR%\conf directory. The <user-status> will tell you if the account is "Active" or "Suspended". If "Suspended" change to "Active", save your admin.xml file and restart your BOE120Tomcat service for the change to take account.
I have tried entering an invalid password on an account several times and have not seen an account go "Suspened". The only way to change the status otherwise seems to be through editing the user through the Management Console itself.

Is your system a dual stack (ABAP+JAVA)? In that case the ABAP stack will be the master. You can check if it's an ABAP data source if you go to UME >> Configuration >> Data Sources

  • How to change a password for BPC account (admin)?

    Hello Experts,
We need to periodically change domain user passwords for SOX Compliance. One of those accounts is the one used to install BPC. What is the proper procedure to do so?
    My guess:
    - Change account password.
    - Change account password in Server Manager (would also change identity for all COM+).
    - Restart server to clear cached credentials.
Is that the right approach or there are other steps specific for BPC? Is there SAP documented procedure?
    Thanks in advance,
    Akim

    Hello Akim,
You might also want to check SAP note 1163288. It mentions that you could also check Services and COM+ components after using server manager to update this account password (check the account column in order to confirm that it was correctly updated.
    Best Regards,
    Daniel Martin

  • Admin account Deleted

Hello, I control a network of Macs remotely. There all new iMacs running OSX 10.6.5.
In the ARD list the computer displays ACCESS DENIED. I know the password, so I tried to verify it and no joy. I then tried to SSH in as admin and nothing. I then SSHd in as root and the admin account had gone, completely deleted. After re-creating the account and enabling ARD client all was back to normal. But please, why is this happening? • How to Create a New Admin Account and Change Original to Standard Account?

I have a single user admin account that I set up when I got my PowerBook. Now I want to have two accounts with the new one being the admin account. This way I can leave most of the data files, email accounts, etc. with the old account and use the new one for personal data and admininistration. Then I could give out the password for the original account without fear that a user could change permissions and get access to the new account with the personal data. Can I create a new admin account and then change the original account to "Standard" instead of "admin"? What problems will this create?

Not sure if you are asking if or how. Templeton has
    answered if. Here's how.
Apple Menu > System Prefs > Accounts. Click on the +
under User Options to create new account. Go to
Security and check box at bottom to make account
admin. You can take care of the other items, picture
    etc, login options etc.
To make the other account Standard select the
account, go to Security and deselect box "Allow User
    to Administer".
    Hope this answers your questions.
    Good luck.
