Account cannot be verified-Facetime

Hi,I have been trying to buy Facetime for the past hour but it says my account/device cannot be verified and to contact support.I can log in with my apple id onto the store but I can't buy Facetime.I checked my account and it says my email has been verified.What do I do?Help!

I finally worked out the issue.  Twitter have enabled app-specific passwords when you are using two-factor authentication.
You need to get a temporary app password from twitter - see: https://twitter.com/settings/password - click on the "Generate password button" - this will generate a temporary password for you.
Use this with your use username in the ML preferences pane for Accounts and your twitter account will authenticate successfully.
If you get this problem and don't have two-factor authentication, then I'm not sure what the problem is - but this seems to be the solution for those using two-factor authentication with twitter (and to be honest, everyone should be using it!).

    For the last 24 hours I have not been able to log into my iCloud account, my email has worked sporadically, my cloud backups on my iPhone and iPad are not working.
    I get "verification" errors on my devices and "cannot connect to server" when I try to connect to iCloud on my Mac.  Devices are also locking up if I go into
    System Pref for iCloud.
    I also could not sign in to iTunes.
    I reset my password and that did not solve the problem
    ICloud is reported to be up and running fine by Apple and others.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    When you change your apple id to a new email address, you will have received a verification email.  You need to click the link in that email.  If you haven't received that email, you can log into appleid.apple.com >> manage your apple id, and resend the verification email.

  • Help needed. Itunes account cannot be verified. Need to sync iPhone 3G.

    I created an account last Wednesday and verified my account using my e-mail address many times. However, I am not able to log in and iTunes keep on saying I have to verify my account.
    Already contacted apple support group with Track ID 8352210. Though I have not received any reply from them after I replied to them with the information needed.
    It's been 4 days now and I really need to download applications on my Iphone 3g since it is such a useless brick compared to other competing cellphones in the market.
    Hope I could utilize my gadget soon.

    Thanks, I turned genius off and now I can actually sync my phone! I was really excited about genius though . When I tried to turn on genius again (to see if it would work this time) it gives me an error that says: *"Genius results can't be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (-50). Please try again later"*. It works fine when it collects data about my library but it's when it tries to send the info to Apple when it shows me the error. I'm guessing that this is an issue with the itunes servers and not with my PC but we'll see.

    You should check that your settings (both directions) match this:
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:

    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com

    Note: If you receive errors using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Your signature says you have 10.6.8 - is this correct? If you migrated from MobileMe using this your mail settings won't be correct and you will need to follow this procedure to re-enter them:

  • As soon as I enter my I Pad 2, in the middle of the screen, over the Settings is a stationary box for ICLOUD, saying account cannot be verified and asking me to check my email account. All my emails have been checked and my email box is empty.

    Can someone please give me advice in the most simplist terms because anything to do with computers or I Pads

    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.

    You may have more than one Apple ID that shares the same email address.
    Try one of the following to resolve the issue:
    This error message means that your email address is already associated with another Apple ID. It could be tied to GameCenter, iTunes Store, or another Apple ID. Try using your Apple ID for those services to log in to FaceTime on your device.
    If you wish to use a separate Apple ID for FaceTime, unlink the email address from any other Apple ID before trying to set it up as a separate Apple ID for FaceTime.
    If you would like to change your Apple ID to another email address, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions in this article to change your Apple ID.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
    If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

    click on apple ID listed there
    select Sign Out
    sign in with the proper account
    from then on, when the store ask for your password it should be with the correct ID

    interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

    this may or may not help - but give it a try.  On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella.  below are the steps this use listed.  (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same.  In short it looks like their server names have changed.  An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.)  Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings.  (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)
    See if this helps.
    why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3.  The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi. 
    This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP. 
    Incoming server settings
    IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port - 143
    Security type - none 
    Outgoing Server settings
    SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port - 25
    Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
    and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Finally got it to work...hope this helps all the talk21 users out there. if there are any other similar posts out there with no answer...dont forget to mention my name when passing this post around.

    Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
    Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. I changed my apple id to "[email protected]" and it changed my game center account to "mynew" and somehow I am friends with my old acct, "user10". I tried getting a password reset for "user10" but I apparently don't know my own birthday, which is possible because I usually give a false one, but the same false one each time.

  • You have not verified your account - Cannot connect to the iTunes Store

    About a month ago I had an issue with my ISP in which I no longer had access to my email from them. Unfortunately, it was this address that I used to set up my iTunes account. After a couple days of no email access, I changed my iTunes account from my ISP mail to my GMail address via the Account setup in iTunes. Everything was fine, I changed the address, validated the email when Apple sent the validation and changed the login info on my computer and iPhone.
    While I was able to make app purchases via both the phone and iTunes, I could not access my account information, as iTunes would tell me that my account had not been verified (despite having clicked the verification link). Now, since updating to iOS 4.2, I get the message that my account is not verified every single time I try to purchase or update an app, or try to view my account information on both the iPhone and Mac.
    When the systems tell me my account has not been validated, they direct me to instructions on how to validate; BUT, the instructions simply state that the account IS validated. I do not have the option to send anther validation email, and if I go back to the original (sent from Apple on Oct 12) and click the validation link, I'm informed that the address/login is valid.
    The Apple Support page simply leads me through various common account problems that have nothing to do with my issue, and there seems to be no way to contact them directly about the account issue. I'm at a bit of a loss on how to proceed; any ideas?
