Account Charged for Items I did not purchase

I was sent a receipt for a purchase on my account. Fortunately, I do not have a credit card on file, but my gift card that I had on file was almost cleaned out.
This is not a purchase I made. It appears to be for video games, which I never have ordered from iTunes. Furthermore, when I go to my account, these items don't show up in my list of purchases. However, when I look at my purchase history, the charge is there.
My first thought was that someone somehow got into my account - although my password (since changed) was a strong one - and made this charge. But, wouldn't they show up as purchases? Now I'm wondering if perhaps this is just some weird clerical error on the part of iTunes.
How do I have this fixed. I couldn't find anything helpful in the iTunes help area.

I sent an email to itunes support and wait for their answer.
The problem is does Apple will do something to stop these problem.
I see that other person has encounter the same problem with "hack" purchase.
Wait for apple answer...

    I signed up for a bundle back in Sept of 08,  which during that time I called a few times because I was charged for channels I did not want or sign up for, they did refund those or at least parts. However now I notice that I am being charged for 6.99 home wire maintence, I did not ask for this, so I called and they said we can't refund that, I asked how long it had been and they said since sept of 08 when I signed up...however vz signed me up for paperless statements, I did not ask for that and when I look at my bill online I cannot see the wire charge unless I go to download paper bill, i thought they were the same thing as what I was seeing online, so I never loked at them- they refuse to give me my money back - they said they sent a welcome letter when I signed up witht his on it, I did not see anything about this. Anyone else have a similar problem? My friends have all had over charges with their bundles. But I do realize this goes way back, but these charges where soemthing I had to basically hunt for, they were not on my online bill that I normally see. Their supervisers refuse to help, any suggestions how to get my money back? They should not be allowed to do this to people?

    The first thing to do is to change your password to your iTunes Store account immediately, in case someone has access to it. Then call your bank and report the fradulent charge. Finally, you can notify the iTunes Store via their web form:

    though with no record of any such purchase in your Purchase History, it would seem more likely that this transaction did not actually go through your iTunes Store account but rather was a mistaken or fake transaction sent directly to your bank in which case there's little or nothing Apple can do for you.

    My checking account shows I have been charged 58.74 on a debit card transaction to the apple itunes store on dec. 26 there is no description of what was purchased nor did I recieve email confirmation about any purchases on any of my devices.     The problem was finally solved. I am writing very simple solution for those who may have same issue. I tried 1st solution proposing to exclude HDD from Spotlight search and then to restore it (delete from exceptions). It worked for some time and removed notification, however later it appeared again. Then I has started thinking that it was caused by data inside some installed SW and it has been proved later. I have started excluding from Sportlight not all HDD but by folder, searching for the problem area. I have discovered that folder Games was causing the issue. Then I have started to delete installed games one by one and have found Game with was triggering this notification (for other SW!). Problem was fixed after deleting this game. Other deleted games could be easily restored from recycle been.
