Account creation and use...

I created a skype account from Arizona, US for my mother that lives in San Diego, US... The account has been created correctly, I can login from my computer...
But, my mother cannot login from her computer in another state...
Should this be happeneing? or is my mom inputing the wrong name and pass?

The problem is at your mother's end, either with your computer or how she's trying to login. There's no restriction anywhere in the world to where you can signon to aSkype account, with the possible exception of a few countries where the government blocks Skype access.
Are you sure that your mom has the Skype program installed on her PC, and that she's not trying to logon through the Skype website?

Windows 8 Sysprep - Can't skip local account creation and autologon fails, wrong admin password.

Using Windows 8 x64 Enterprise, Sysprep pauses to ask me to create a local user, which I don't want.
If I enable SkipSystemOOBE and SkipUserOOBE in OOBE under Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup sysprep (in oobe mode) will skip user creation and autologon works. But it only works correctly once. If I run sysprep again, when it tries to autologon
it will say that I have the wrong password for the local account. After I type in the password manually it works. If I use the same password for the local administrator account as for the autologon account, it looks to have the encrypted password
twice with an equal sign after it.
What I need to know:
How to skip local user account creation (we run on a domain but I have it connect through scripts later)
How to fix the autologon issue
Do I need the local administrator account enabled for this to work?

The user accounts-creation page in Windows Welcome is suppressed if a user or a group is added to a local security group. Add a user or a group to a local security group by doing one of the following:
Create a local user.

To suppress the user accounts-creation page in Windows Welcome, without creating a local user, use one of the following workarounds:
Workaround 1

Mobile Account Creation and old topic

The problem it turns out, is that Leopard doesn't seemingly like the AD user's home folder location. I've verified this still as an issue today, on 10.5.7. I tried to create a mobile account for a user on a new laptop i got -- it would prompt me for the password three times, saying it's incorrect each time before the account creation is canceled.
If in Server 03 AD tools you first switch that user's "Home Directory" to local (or a mac server), this issue will not persist. On the AD Binding/Directory utility un-check "Require Confirmation" before creating a mobile account.
Then you should be able to log out and login as the user (may have to first delete the user's local directory if one has been created under "Users"), so long as the Home folder is set in AD to a location that is seemingly 'agreeable' with the mac os.

The usual approach with Open Directory is to either use Workgroup Manager to define a managed login preference for a computer group to define that those member computers should cause the use of mobile accounts on those computers, or to do the same thing via Profile Manager.
Note: If you are using Mavericks you must use Profile Manager as it does not support this via Workgroup Manager managed preferences.
This will not require users to need admin authorisation.

Menu Creation and Using the SELECT soft key

Hi,
I am trying to design a menu similar to the thumbnail menus available in most phone these days.what i want is a set of icons placed in a tabular format ie rows and colums. the joystick control can be used to navigate thru the icons and using the select soft key ie the middle button of the soft keys, the next set of forms can be displayed.
so far, i have created a form, used a few image item and used the Item's layout directive to arrange the imageItem as i want on the display. I can get the joystick to navigate between the imageItems however the select button doesnt fire any event.
I have added a command to each of the items and set an ItemCommandListener.
That approach seems to be working fine but it defeats my purpose. the reason being i had problems with the mapping of the command keys. For each display i had an option of going to the main menu and to the next screen. On the emulator it maps perfectly with the left key having the main menu and the right key having the "next form" button. But while implementing on the phone, the left key has the main menu but the right key shows "more options", when u click more options you get the "next form" button. This is happening in every form on display and makes it more tideous to use.
Thats why i was hoping to get the select button working if possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

Better way to understand variant is like a saved document where specific settings have been made and whenever you want to see that you open that document.
Let's take a scenario. There is a requirement that in FBL3N screen default items are required like G/L account - 450000 to 480000, company code 1000 and open item date to be 01.04.2009 to 30.04.2009. How will it be done.
Answer is to create variant.
Use transaction FBL3N, insert the above mentioned information into respective fields then click on save icon which will direct you to create variant screen. Here give the name of variant and maintain status of the fields that you must be aware of and save it. Result is you have create variant.
Use Next time whenever you execute FBL3N and want above data to be filled then don't fill them but click on get variant.... icon beside the clock and enter variant you had created. So, all the value saved in the variant will be defaulted.
Variant saves your time from doing the repetitive tasks every time.

Account Creation and home folders

Ok. I am more than frustrated at this point so any hep would be appreciated. I work in a school environment that uses Windows server to manage accounts and files. I am setting up a colleagues room which uses iMacs and a PowerMac running Snow Leopard server; the clients use Snow Leopard. I have set-up the new server and bound it to the AD. I have also set-up one of the new iMacs with all programs installed and installed the server tools, ie WG manager, Server Admin, etc., to manage the privileges for the accounts.
My problem is this. When the students log into the clients, i want their home folders to be located on the server and not on the client machine. This way, they have their files no matter what computer they log into. I am tried many different ways to do this, none of which has worked. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you may be confused on one point. PowerMacs (that is a Macintosh with a PowerPC processor) will not run Snow Leopard Server. It requires an Intel processor. Perhaps you have a Mac Pro?

I Have two tables one table called T_KEY_VALUES (KEY_ID , VALUE) and other is my transition table T_TRANSACTIONS (VERSION_ID , COL_VENDOR , COL_PREFIX, COL_RECIPTID , COL_STATE , COL_COUNTRY ..)
The data looks like below:

One way is to join t_transactions to 4 copies of t_key_values:

If you'd care to post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for the sample data, then I could test this.
The query above assumes all 4 coded columns in t_transactions have matching values in t_key_values, as they do in the sample data. If that assumption is wrong, then use outer joins in some (or all) of the places where I used inner joins above.
Another approach is to UNPIVOT t_transactions into 4 times as many rows, do a single join to t_key_values, and then PIVOT those results back to the original number of rows.

Passphrase creation and use

Cant I make a passphrase with my wrk54g wireless router for security? I tried it and it wont work, I still have to put in the whole wep key when I log on from my laptop the first time instead of just typing in my passphrase. Help please?

Don't use WEP. Use WPA or WPA2 with a preshared key (PSK or sometimes called "Personal").
For WEP there is no real standardized algorithm how to derive the wep keys from the passphrase. Therefore it often depends on the software you use. Windows Zero Configuration does not support the passphrase for wep keys for this very reason. If you use WZC (i.e. Windows configures the wireless connection) you must enter the wep keys and not the passphrase. If you use some other software you may be able to enter the passphrase. However, the generated keys may be different if it is not a Linksys adapter.
Use WPA or WPA2 instead. The passphrase algorithm is defined for WPA and WPA2 thus you always enter the passphrase even with WZC.

Is there an IM program to talk with msn cust. and use video for mac?

i am new to mac and loving my computer, but almost all of my friends have hotmail. i was excited thinking i could finally video chat with them but cant seem to find an IM service that lets me talk with hotmail account owners and use my new macbook video. does anyone, yahoo, msn, apple....etc... have a program so i can video chat?? thanks for any help.

Restrict creation of customers according to account group and sales area.

I have this scenario wherein we have to restrict the creation of customers according to the sales area and account group. Here is an example.
Suppose I have a domestic customer say D01. Account group that I am using for this domestic customer is D001. Sales area is say D001/D1/D1. Now for exports I have E01 as customer. Account group is E001. Sales area is E001/E1/E1.
Scenario is
I should be able to create D01 only with account group D001 and in sales area D001/D1/D1. Customer D01 should not get created in account group E001 and sales area E001/E1/E1. Now to differentiate export and domestic customers we are using 'D' as a prefix for domestic customers and 'E' for export customers.
Same thing applies for Exports. Customer E01 should only get created with account group E001 and sales area E001/E1/E1.
Please advise on the same.

WEB UI account creation with role and grouping

Hi All,
I can create account in SalesPro->Account Management-> Account - New
I don't have an option of selecting BP Role or Grouping for number range...
Should i be using any other WEBUI Role in order to create Account with an option of BP Role and Grouping

Hello there,
The BP Role which will be used and even the number ranges are generally not used for Web UI usage. Instead we provide different configurations of the same Account Creation view based on the Component Usage and three different keys.
The functionality you are looking for can be achieved by creating different configurations.

Sorry I cannot follow why you would even use the PC to control the Time Capsule. Apple have not kept the Windows version of the utility up to date.. so they keep making it harder and harder to run windows with apple routers.

I understand the instructions to create a new account id (apple id) from the old aol account. However, does this mean my purchases will be split into 2 accounts; or does the fact that I currently see everything under my apple id (regardless of the purchased by username) mean this will all still appear in my current account as it does now?

You see them where when you login your non-AOL account ?
If you currently have two accounts (the AOL username account and an email address account) then you will continue to have two accounts, and nothing should change when you update the AOL account to be an email address (apart from how you access that account).
You will just be renaming the account to have an email address for accessing it, not creating a new account.
