Account Determination - Receive into Negative Stock

We are using SAP IS-Retail.
I want to change the account used for the MAC differences between existing MAC abd new PO unit price when receiving into a negative stock.
For eg. I have stock as -2 (because I have sold 2 before I received). I got stock of 10. The difference of $250.44 between existing MAC and new PO was posted to one account 490000 but I want that to go to another account 500000.

Hi,
if you want to know which accounts are picked up by the system then please go to transaction code OMWB.
choose the option of simulation. there give the plant and material and choose the movement type. then goto account details there you will find the all details.

  • Account Determination with Sales Order Stock

    Hi, Guys
Does anybody know how (and WHY) SAP makes (or doesn't make) account determination of material movements from or to Sales Order Stock???
I have found that, for example, an Accounting Document is generated when transferring to or from Customer Stock (411E and 413 mvt) and that no Accounting Document is generated when processing GI from Customer Stock (601E mvt) or GR against Production Order (101E to Customer Stock)....
There are also NO Accounting Documents when inventory differences occur (701E or 702E)...
It's pretty strange I think....Sure there is some logic  put into the process of managing Sales Order Stock but I don't get it...
Of course, reward points are guaranteed for helpful answers!

Automatic Accounet determination is done in MM. In this for some of the movement types there is no need to enter the G/L account every time.
All are customized in  Automatic Account determination.(AAA)
Go to SE16 enter the Table name T156 and press F4 you can see the movement types where G/L account are customized in  (AAA)
you can check the movement types

  • G/L Account Determination - Variance - Expense and Stock Account

    Hi All,
Under G/L Account Determination -> Purchasing tab -> General tab the last account is called "Expense and Stock Account", in some versions the same is called "Variance Account - Expense and Stock Account". In the help file and on the SAP Portal it is explained to be used as:
"Define a variance G/L account for clearing journal entries created by A/P credit memos that were based on A/P invoices or created by goods return that were based on goods receipt POs, in which the freight charges or the price were changed."
I'm trying to test this but recreating the scenarios described above the account will not be used. Can anyone help me what am I missing?
    Thanks and regards,
    Nat

    Hi ShriX,
I understand but my problem is when I'm testing these scenarios, in my test system the account is not used at all. For example I have an AP Invoice and when I turn it to an AP Credit Memo I change the price of the item. I would expect a posting to this account as it is specified in the help file, but in my case it doesn't happen. Do you know why?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Account Determination for Sales Order Stock

    hi all,
Iam facing problem while doing MIGO against production order in a make to order scenario. The whole scenario is -
sales order is made with reference to which a production order is created.
The material carries standard cost for valuation.
The material also has a BOM. Consumption entries are passed at the time of confirmation during various stages of production.
When the FG is inwarded through MIGO transaction the system is not passing accounting entry debiting FG inventory.
    Please help!!
    regards

Set up a movement type that points to a Transaction/event key for account determination  that is then assigned to the GL account you want it to go to. Go to FBKP and select material management to make automatic account assignments.
pls assign points if helpful as a way to say thanks.

  • NEGATIVE STOCK

    Dear All,
We are facing a problem on  a particular date stock of some materials is showing in negative
because issue qty is greater than receipt and stock qty.
How it is possible that material is issued even if it is not in the stock.
    is it configuration error  ?
We want if stock is not available system should not allow issuing.
We dont want that any material stock goes in negative.
    Please help.
    rgds
    Awnindra Dutt Tiwary

Do you face that problem only in a certain report or is your stock really negative?
In standard settings SAP does not allow to post into negative stock, you have to allow this in customizing for a plant and then in material master for the material.
But I feel you are doing a analysis based on posting dates used. And here SAP does not really check as hard as you may want.
SAP checks only whether there is enough stock right now (or in the period you are posting).
So if oneposts the goods receipt with a slightly wrong date e.g.Aug. 4th while it physically was received on Aug. 2nd.
And later the consumption posting  was done with goods issue date Aug. 3rd.
So the physical sequence of posting never lead to negative stock.
But if you analyse stock per date e.g. in MB5B then you may get a negative stock for Aug. 3rd.
But how will you restrict SAP to not allow to post a goods receipt  with the current date (if it was received physically 2 days earlier). You just cannot. Option left: teach your users well.

  • Stock determination for sales order stock

  • Negative Stock customising

    Hi Guru's,
we are doing implementation for one our client and client is asking to activate the negative stock functionality in SAP.
can anyone tell me is there any implications in activating the negative stock.
    Regards

    Hi,
Negative stocks can be utilized for a number of different business scenarios, for instance:
    1. If a material shipment is going to a customer, but the production has not yet confirmed (and there is not enough stock on hand to satisfy the requirement), instead of getting the "deficit of stock..." message when doing the issue for the delivery, the system will allow you to issue the material, and your inventory will show a negative quantity until the production confirmation is
    performed.
    2. I had a client who used this functionality to track component usage for their subcontractors.  They would confirm production for an entire month for the FERT materials produced by the subcontractor. Starting the month with zero stock for all components, then at the end of the month the value of the component stock (disregarding the negative sign) would be deducted from the amount they owed for the services performed. In this agreement, the components were "sold" to the subcontractor but no invoicing ever took place for the components.   Just a word of caution ...negative stocks/values for materials can raise many questions for accounting purposes at the end of fiscal periods.
There have been several reasons for using the negative stock functionality subject to the specific business requirements of your industry. Some of the reasons to use this negative stock feature due to the following :
    1) Sales of finished products to customers. We are cement producer and in an effort to avoid any delay in selling our products to our customers, we determined to allow negative stock posting since it is of our cement industry that cement after being packed will be delivered directly to our customers ie. no temporary storage is required.
    2) The alignment of inventory/stock movement with production process where due to some reason, the reception of raw materials and/or consumables was not maintained on time resulting in interruption of process order confirmation
As you know negative stock will have negative value, which will have direct impact to financials.   Say you have a material of Qty 10 Each, total worth $ 10.00 in stock and since you enabled negative stock in system ( valuation area level and plant- storage location level ) if you try to issue stock of say 20 Eaches, system will show stock of negative 10 and value $-10.00.
After that if you try to do goods receipt of say 20 eaches, of total value 20.00 material will have original status as you started. But if the value is different say 25.00, then moving average will be arrived from $15.

  • Account determination for project stock delivery (for movement type 281Q)

    Hello
We are trying to carry out delivery for project stock (CNS0) using  movement type 281Q.
We notice that there is no account modifier availalbe for this scenario resulting in error during PGI. However, we can do PGI after changing the config of account determination without account modifier.
Since working without an account modifier is not acceptable for various business reasons, we must have an account modifier defined. We are wondering why SAP has not provided a standard solution for dealing with project stock delivery.
Can any one please suggest how to deal this situation.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Jagadeeesh

We have business requirement as stated below:
We need to procure materials for specific Projects but also want to track the stock for the Project by value in the invnetory. In other words, the encumbrance of the procurement needs to take place against the Project but we want to be able to take it into inventory as a valuated stock and issue to the WBS whenever it is required.
Is this possible?  What we know is that as soon as we give reference of the WBS for the Procurement, it gets expensed to the Project and we cannot value manage in inventory.
The reason for this requirement is there is a long time between when the item is procured and when it is used for the project. Till such time we have to track the Project items in the inventory as any other stock but its still tagged for the project and encumbrance would need to have happened
Any ideas on how to deal with this will be appreciated
    Thanks

  • Stock in transit - account determination

    Hello
We have weird transactions in stock in transit : AR Credit memos and returns are impacting the stock in transit.
Can anyone explain why ??? How does the stock in transit account function naturally ??
    Thanks
    Fabrice

    Suda
    There is an account determination.
    Actually we didn't know that
    - when you receive a return from customers without the original delivery (as can happen after migration or when having contract support for 10 years in the past), or receiving a credit memo from an invoice that did not have a delivery as base document,
    - you impact stock in transit and not finished goods. This is wrong in stock.
    regards

  • MM Account determination with valuated/non valuated sales order stock!

    Hi All,
I have been trying to set up MM account determination in our project for sales order assigned POs.What I have observed is that when I have a PO with sales order assignment and according to requirement class (coming through reqt type) in sales order it is valuated sales order stock then in the PO we get the stock account determined through BSX key. But when it is non valuated sales order stock we get a different account assigned through GBB-VKA key. In both the cases the account assignment category in the PO is "E".
Can someone please explain what is the connection between valuated/non valuated sales order stock and MM account determination and if what is happening is right from account determination point of view?
    Regards,
    V S

    These are two different postings:
    BSX: stock posting
GBB: Offsetting entry for stock posting
    Stock posting (BSX)
This transaction is used for all postings to stock accounts. Such
    postings are effected, for example:
    -   In inventory management in the case of goods receipts to own
stock and goods issues from own stock
    -   In invoice verification, if price differences occur in
connection with incoming invoices for materials valuated at
moving average price and there is adequate stock coverage
    -   In order settlement, if the order is assigned to a material with
moving average price and the actual costs at the time of
settlement vary from the actual costs at the time of goods
        receipt
Offsetting entry for stock posting (GBB)
Offsetting entries for stock postings are used in Inventory
Management. They are dependent on the account grouping to which each
movement type is assigned. The following account groupings are
    defined in the standard system:
    -   VKA:     for sales order account assignment
(for example, for individual purchase order)

    Hi
where can i find the setting for the "Negative Stock - valuation area", I beleive this is different from the plant storage location setting for negative stock and needs to be activated first.
You can find this in OMJ1 Transaction, apart from this in the Plant parameters also you can flag the Negative stokcs for Special stocks.
    b) I am doing a goods issue 201 aginst the cost center. Is there a way of finding the correct cost center.
In OKB9 maintain the defulat cost center for the G/L account  used for posting the Goods issue to cost center.
You can find the G/L account attached in OBYC, GBB transaction & genaral modifier VBR, valuation class of the material

  • Problem Receivable account determination, cash sales (EVV)

    Hello all,
I need work with cash sales, billing type BV, then in the BV invoice type I have the EVV in the Account key for cash allocation.
I create correctly the G/L account determination, introducing one account in the entry for the key EVV.
And another for the receivables account, for example key ERL 700000
When I save the invoice, the account determination procedure works correctly, it found the account 700000, but the FI doc is not generated....
If i delete the EVV from the BV, the determination work correctly (accoutn 700000) but the cash account is not determined because I delete the EVV.
¿why is the reason?¿why it doesn't work when the BV have the EVV? I miss some customizing?¿depend of the definition of the FI accounts?
    Best regards,
    Javier

    Hi Javier,
To begin with why you need to maintain both EVV and ERL in account determination?
The purpose of the account key in Billing document control is :-
    Account key for cash allocation
account key that causes the system to post to a G/L account rather than to a receivables account. You can enter G/L accounts for the key entered in account assignment. (Account determination can be found in Basic Functions).
    Use
You can use this to allow cash transactions to be carried out directly for the customer rather than receivables being created.
So this means that once you maintain the Account key for cash allocation,Direct entry will hit the relavant GL account rather than creating a receivable entry.
In your case you are trying to do both the things at same time.
In my view either you should maintain EVV or ERL.
Hope you will try and let me kow if it works allright
    Reward points if useful

    2.  you can get your information from a backup of your phone.  you do have a backup of your phone right either in iTunes or icloud.  If you don't then your answer will be no.
