Account hacked, skype chooses to ignore

I recently received emails about my account's email and password being changed, so I am no longer able to access it and attempted to send a contact message to Skype in order to get this resolved.  Since I don't often use my personal skype, and only used it for family members, I have less than 5 contacts to name, and do not remember the original billing address or a lot of that info that I originally signed up with. I will say that the strange new email is [e-mail removed for privacy and security]pierre . dubois 2012 @ hotmail .com (without the spaces, if this form automatically removes emails). I even tried emailing this person with the original email from the account to ask why on earth they would do this, since I didn't have any payment info on there, but I do not expect a reply. Is the only way around this to just make a new account? How can Skype's customer support be so terrible that they don't even have a call-in center for "emergency" situations like this? And how come it has been 4-5 days with no reply to my contact form inquiry? I feel I should just stop using Skype all together.

    So my skype account was hacked last week, just found out right now. Luckly my credit card on file had expired so they only ate $8. To make it worse, the Skype login and password change system on the website isn't working properly (even though their heart beat page says its fixed), and Skype support kept trying shift the login problems on me.   • Account hacked -- Skype credit stolen

    Urgent -- I discovered today that someone hacked into my Skype account and used up all my skype credit.  Yesterday, I had more than $20 of credit. Today, it is less than 50 cents. I looked up my call history and saw several calls to the Falklands that I did not make. Please investigate ASAP and refund the Skype credit to my account for all the calls made yesterday (which were not made by me). I will change my password right away to prevent further theft. My skype ID is laurily79.

    I have had someone gain unauthorized access to my Skype account.  This is insane, because I knew I was being targeted by a hacker, and went to ehosts Live Support to tell them.  I also told them NEVER TO CHANGE THE REGISTERED EMAIL ON MY ACCOUNT.  They said they made a note on my account and that they would not change the email, no matter who came into their live support.
    Here I am today, and what did Skype support do?  They CHANGED THE REGISTERED EMAIL FOR THE HACKER.  He did NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY EMAIL ACCOUNT.  YET, YOU STILL CHANGED IT FOR HIM??  Skype is an absolute JOKE.  This service is absolutely garbage.  You should be ashamed of the horrible security.

    This email was completely secret.  This means that the hacker had no way of knowing my email address (unless one of your retarded agents told him the address).  My passwords are secure, my email is secure.  The only thing that is compromised is my Skype account, because Skype allowed someone to change the email on my account WITH MINIMAL INFORMATION ABOUT MY ACCOUNT.
    He is now costing my business hundreds (possibly thousands) of dollars by SCAMMING my CONTACT LIST.
    First things, first: for your safety and protection, please never, ever include any personally identifiable information such as your real name, Skype account name, e-mail address, or a telephone number in a post on a public Community or forum such as this.

    afaik, users can only change their registered email address (1) if they supply the current password of the account in question (2) or contacting support and answering verification questions to prove that they are the owner of the account [in cases if the user don't remember their password or no longer have access to the account/registered email address].  Such verification questions are quite difficult to answer even for the account owner themselves at certain times (as what can be seen in other threads in this forum). 
    You may need to contact customer support again, and perhaps can ask for a senior rep/supervisor to handle your concern.

    My daughter's Skype account has been compromised. Someone logged in and changed her password. That person also accessed her email account that was used to set up the Skype account. I would like to have her account temporarily disabled as soon as possible until we can regain rightful access. Can someone please advise on how to procede.

  • Account Hacked and No Response From SKYPE

    My account has been hacked as of yesterday morning. Received the emails indicating that my password and primary email address are changed, and Skype will not allow me to change these; everytime I try to change email or password, it relates it back to my microsoft account, not Skype. In 24 hrs I have tried to reach customer service three times, with no response. I appreciate that there is a "within 72 hrs" clause, but why can I not at least get this account closed/ blocked/ suspended while you wait. This screams of poor customer service as well as a very laissez-faire approach to my security. Please help!

  • Account hacked, credit card used and cant get acce...

    Hi, 
    I have had my main account hacked again for a second time and cannot get access back. I just got some skype notifications that there have been 12 purchases made in China on my acount. I cannot recover my password as it never sends me the recovery email. I do get the emails that someone is making purchases on my skype account but I cant seem to do anything about it. 
    The account receovery asks me when I opened my skype acount and I have no idea. I lost access to this account so long ago that I have given up getting it back but just got a second bout of transactions . 
    Can anyone help me with this please?

    It appears to me that you have created a new Skype account as you posted your enquiry here on this message board - use this new account to contact Skype Customer Service to report the fraudulent use of the other account, to request alternate verification details to confirm your "ownership" of the other account, and to remove saved payment details.  I would not recommend choosing the "account recovery" path as you have previously attempted.
    If you can recover the account, so much the better.  If not, request the account be removed.
    Last and certainly not least, report the unauthorized purchases to the issuer of the payment method on file.   The charge-back process will likely trigger Skype to suspend your first account.

  • Recovery email addressee changed account hacked

    Dear sir i have submitted the recovery form 2 times and i got Email regarding account release but still my account is hacked and i m not able to recover it ,as the hacker has changed the password , Recovery Email adresses and other details also .can you please help me out i m having skype premium on my both account but i see i haven't got any benefit of that as i m not able to go through live chat option also .My Hacked skype username is "[removed for privacy]" Please Fix it as soon as possible

    Update: Spotify got back to me and over the following couple of days my account was restored, so different email and passsword on the account so fixed basicaly. BUT !!! Yesterday I look at my playlist and find things I have not added !! I delete them, I changed the password on my account after disconnecting all devices from my account.
    Today I start playing music and it cuts out, I click "choose device to play on" only to find there is a mobile device playing music that is not in my playlist.
    What is going on ? This is not my end, I have not had my emails accounts hacked..spotify has been hacked or there is some majot security flaw in the software, I also KNOW this as fact because since this happened a little research and web searching I discover public/private forums selling spotify acccounts. pic attached is the person/persons using the account I frikkin pay for !

  • Account Hacked Christmas Morning 5:42AM PST

    My Skype account was hacked early Christmas morning 5:42AM PST.
    They changed my login, password and email address - I cannot login.  They created a link between my funded Skype account and MoneyBookers to transfer payments.  I was notified by MoneyBookers about the new account in my name and immediately closed that account. Skype did send me an email that my email address was changed but the email has been deleted.
    I am concerned because Skype automatically charges my credit card to fund my cash in account.  My account name was 'gmihran'.  Immediately close that account and remove the credit card link.
    Please let me know how to proceed immediately.

    Someone has probably broken to my account, but he said he just got the account from skype on registration - how is that possible? I have changed password, but how could he got the same account as I already have?
    Anyone had same problem?

    it is not possible for anybody to register a Skype account with the same username as yours.  I think your case is just a case of a possible plain account hacking. no idea how that person was able to access your account, just run a full anti-virus scan to remove any element that the possible hacker may have used to gain access to your account.
