Account modeling and key fig modeling

hi ,
explain me account modeling and key fig modeling clearly

Hi
When you are creating a report on a ODS by default 1ROWCOUNT is available on keyfigures list.
1ROWCOUNT works as a counter.
Hope this helps.............

  • Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model

    hi
Can any one explain me regarding Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In old WS Model, ithere was no concept of logical destinations.
There if you are using a WSDL located on a server and if the location of the WSDL
changes, your application won't run. The deployed application using the WS Model will have trouble finding
the WSDL. As a result you'll have to again import the
model. Moreover old WS Model does not have re-import functionality.
But incase of AWS Model, you can desine logical destinations and even if the location of the WSDL changes, all you have to do is change the new url in the Visual Admin and not import the model again.

  • How to measure performance in HourGlass Model and Modified HourGlass Model

    Hello All,
I'm trying to understand as to how the HourGlass Model (which says that the outline should be designed as Dimension tagged as Account, Dimension tagged as Time, Dense Dimensions from most dense to least dense, Sparse Dimensions from least sparse to most sparse) exactly works in terms of optimizing performance and aggregation.
Also I want to understand the working of the new Modified HourGlass Model on Stick (which says that the outline should be designed as Dimension tagged as Account, Dimension tagged as Time, Dense Dimensions from most dense to least dense, Aggregating Sparse Dimensions from least sparse to most sparse, Non Aggregating Sparse Dimensions).
Why are these approaches better and how do they work internally in the system?
How exactly does it pick up combinations during calculations and aggregations?
In some documents I learned that we should keep the Time dimension as the first dimension in the outline since it is dense and there are more chances of having similar kind of data values across the same fiscal year, due to which compression takes place efficiently. So if this is the case doesn’t it conflict with the HourGlass model and at such times which model to go with?
    Thank You,
    MM

    Hi Damian,
Here are a few more general tips for query performance:
    1) Always gather statistics for the query optimizer. In addition, we usually see better performance with column group statistics for PS and PC column groups.
    exec sem_apis.analyze_model('my_model',METHOD_OPT =>'FOR COLUMNS (P_VALUE_ID, CANON_END_NODE_ID) SIZE AUTO',DEGREE=>4);
    exec sem_apis.analyze_model('my_model',METHOD_OPT =>'FOR COLUMNS (P_VALUE_ID, START_NODE_ID) SIZE AUTO',DEGREE=>4);
    exec sem_perf.gather_stats(just_on_values_table=>true,degree=>4);
Note: the DEGREE argument is for degree of parallelism
Usually, you would load data, then gather statistics, and then periodically re-gather them as updates are done (maybe when 20% of the data is new).
    2) Create appropriate semantic network indexes. We generally recommend PCSM and PSCM indexes. PCSM is always there, and PSCM is created by default in the latest patch but not in 11.2.0.1.0 release (11.2.0.1.0 has a PSCF index that should be dropped and replaced with PSCM).
Both of these items are covered in the documentation.
You may also find the following presentation from SemTech 2010 helpful. It covers many best practices for load, query and inference.

  • Labview runs CANBus and DNP3 software model at the same time

I have an ordinary computer which communicates with several DSPs (CANBus communiation) through Compact Rio. The physical connection is that the DSPs' CANBuses are connected together and connected into Compact Rio, then the Compact Rio is connected with a router through Ethernet, at the same time, the computer also connects with the Router through Ethernet. Based on this physical architecture, the computer can run CANBus software model on Labview to communiate with Compact Rio and DSPs.
As I know, the communication between the computer and the Compact Rio is not real time, and the communication between Compact Rio and DSPs can be real time, can you tell me if I get the right point?
Now we have another device named RTDS (communicate with outside through Enternet based on DNP3), and want to add RTDS into our system. I am not sure about the way to conduct the communiation. The main question is that we need to run Labview to communicate with DSPs through CANBus and RTDS through DNP3 at the same time, is that possible?
I proposed two possible ways to conduct communication, bt not sure if it is possible.
    1. I proposed that I connect RTDS with the Router through Ethernet, and then the computer communicates with RTDS through the Router based on DNP3 and also keeps the communication with DSPs through Router, Compact Rio, CANBus and then DSPs. I am wondering if this kind of communication is available for Labview.
    2. The second possible way I proposed is that I connect the RTDS with Compat Rio (CRio keeps connecting with DSPs through CANBus) through Ethernet, and then the computer communicates with DSPs through Router, Compact Rio and CANBus, and the computer communicates with RTDS through Router, Compact Rio and Ethernet. Also, the computer needs to run Labview with CANBus sofeware model and DNP3 software model at the same time. I am also not sure if it is possible.
The diagram of the communication system is shown in the attachments.

To use Mail from multiple devices, your Mail Server needs to be using IMAP protocol (iCloud Mail uses that).
IMAP keeps the Master copies on the Server, not on the Mac the way most default POP Mail servers do.
To keep one Master Calendar, accessible from all devices, you need a web-accessible place to keep the Master Calendar. iCloud can do that.
¿Do you see a trend developing here?

  • OSI and TCP/IP model

    Hi,
I made a table for OSI model and TCP/IP model and diffrent protocols. If you have any additions, comments feel free to reply. There are a lot of protocols out there and these are only few and I want to separate each protocol to its correct layers.
Any addition or comments will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Difference Between CTO model and other models

    Hi All,
I have just joined. i just want to know that what is the difference between the CTO model and the other models like PSG and F3G in the Thinkpads. Becuse when i put the 7665-CTO in the quick search it does not show me the details of the thinkpad.it shows "ThinkPad T61 Configure-To-Order system". What does that means

    Welcome to the forum!
Just look what Wikipedia and other glossary sources (like this one) do tell you about CTO and you will know where the difference is.

I exchanged my battery-challenged Ipad 1 for a refurbished model, and the new model won't move from the first page, which shows the battery charger pointing toward an Itunes logo.  It has a full battery charge. . .what gives?

It's been so long since I activated an iPad original model, and I am assuming that it needs to be activated. If that's not the problem, then you need to restore the iOS software.
Eject the iPad, turn the iPad off, quit iTunes, restart you computer - then restart the iPad and connect it to your computer and see if iTunes launches on it's own. If it doesn't, then launch it yourself. If iTunes does not guide you through the activation process, I assume that you have to restore the software.
Click on the iPad name on the left sidebar of iTunes. If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top. Then you should see the iPad under the devices heading. After you click on the iPad name, click on the Summary Tab at the top of the iTunes window on the right. Then Click on Restore.
I'm hoping that starting the process over again activates the iPad rather than having to restore the device, but see what happens.

  • CAF Model vs Adaaptive RFC Model

    hi all,
What is the difference between<b> CAF model with Adaptive RFC Model</b>.
    Regards,
    Sukanta

    Hi,
CAF Model and Adaaptive RFC Model both are different.
In CAF you are creating Entity Service , Application service and doing modeling in entity service and application service as per your requirement and you can also expose the modeled services as web service for using from other application like as Web Dynpro. In CAF GP you can also do the modelinh of workflow.

But RFC model is like that it is a technology that enables the Web Dynpro application developer to use the business functions encapsulated in Business APIs (BAPIs) even after a structure modification, without having to provide the new data using a second back end or a new structure with subsequent regeneration of the proxies.

  • Virtual chars/key figs

    Hi BW gurus--
Let me know the Purpose of Virtual chars and key figs.
also how to handle and how to create the same.
    Regards,
    Rambo.

    Hi Rambo,
virual chars/key figs are normally created infoobjects. They will be added to a provider, but there is no value posted to them in the provider. They will stay initial. In the relevant user exit (enhancement rsr000001) you have to implement the coding to populate the values during runtime of your query.
    You can use them
    a) to show movements without having any data posted to your provider (e.g. you can set a flag identifying a sales order for 'in time', 'due' or 'late' if you compare the run date of the query with the desired delivery date of the customer. Of course for order without having the status 'delivered'.)
    b) to create flexible classifications (e.g. sales orders amounts: 0 - 100 = class A, 101 - 1000 = class B.... if you want to change the classification based on the amounts you have to use virtual infoobjects)
    Hope this helps!
    regards

  • Product Modelling Environment - Variant Configuration- modelling configura

    Hello all,
I have a very important question for which I am trying to find answers. I ahve been researching for the last 2 days continuously
and now I kind of confused.
I need an answer tot his at the earliest possible
And I am struggling to differentiate between PME and product modelling in crm , is it the same?
    When Ilook in this link ,it says;
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/ed/bfb2ce6a6a46af92172c4ff901f125/frameset.htm
    NOTE
This function in the WebClient user interface (UI) replaces the Product Modeling Environment (PME) application, which had to be installed separately.
What does this mean?? does this mean that modelling configurable products is different from PME?
can Product modelling be done in crm as well as ERP?
Could u please let me know
    Thank you
    BR
    Riya

    Hi Vinod,
    Please find below a brief:-
A product model contains the configuration model data relevant for one product which is a server based Architecture.
-A knowledge base is a container for data and can contain many PMEs
-PME is available in Product page
-Need to insert and create a new product model and select the model and enter product related data.
    -Create KB's
-Will have to define the characterstics and values and assign to class
-Product model hierarchy shows the model in tree structure.
-After you created the hierarchy with all details you can simulate the configuration as a result titile simulator pops up where you can see the status and Variants and your current selection.

  • What makes this a Key Figure Model (and not Account Model in BW) ?

I am reviewing a document on Key Figure Model versus Account Model in BW.
this example is said to be "Key Figure" Model
    Customer     Revenue     Deductions     COGS
    A            100 DM      390 DM         50 DM
What makes this a Key Figure Model (and not Account Model in BW)

    Hi Amanda,
Consider the simplified a company income statement:
    Sales
    COGS
    -- Gross profits
    Selling and Administrative expense
    Deperication expense
    -- Operating profit
    Interest expense
    -- Earnings before taxes
    Taxes
    -- Earnings after taxes
Each of this lines is represented in BW as a key figure (lines with '--' represented as calculated KFs).
Different persons or companies may use their own details of income statement. For example, someone want to see instead of one line "Selling and Administrative expense" two - separatly selling and administrative expenses, or even break down of these expenses by category. In the KF model every new introducted line should be represented by a new KF.
In the Account Model every line is represented by one KF only. Let name it as 'Amount'. Another characteristic is telling us what kind of amount it is. Imagine that you have accounting trial balance that lists accounts, starting and ending balances, and debit and credit turnovers for each account.
An accountant will tell you that a credit turnover in account #XXXX represent the company revenue (sales), a debit turnover in account #YYYY - cost of goods sold etc.
Simplified inflow of transactional data will consist of:
    Account Amount
    XXXX    -12345
    YYYY    8765
    etc.
In this model (assuming that you load data for all accounts) you can easily change the scheme of calculations and their presentations (groupping, regroupping etc.) in reports without creating new KFs.
In your example you provide a KF model because every distinct type of amounts is represented by its own KF.
    Best regards,
    Eugene
