hey,
updated software. rebooted when done. previous update was about 2 weeks ago.
took about 10 minutes for the spinning wheel to leave the desktop. once it did, the only thing visible on the desktop was my hard drive. still had access to the menus and dock, but once ya surfed into the hard drive.......more spinning wheel. relaunching finder......more wheel.
did the target firewire thing. another computer does allow me to see all of my stuff on the desktop and everywhere else for that matter. use disk utility to repair disk. which it says it does........all though slower then i ever remember. it does hang when ya ask it to fix permissions.
used disk warrior to rebuild. other than making a pretty graph, i'm still in the same situation.
used onyx for kicks......cleaned up lots of stuff, ran all the scripts. used onyx to fix permissions......which it says it did, but it took about 20 minutes.
only solace is that i can add another account, and everything works as it should. i can even access all my old stuff with the new account.
any advice on how to jump start the old account? can i delete old account and become a new one.......kafka like?

If you create a second admin account, log in as the new admin account then rename your old profile in /Users/broken_username to /Users/brokenusernamebackup (or whatever). The next time you log in as the broken user, it will create a new home folder. This is safe and could help.

You can only buy content from your own country's store i.e. the Egyptian store if you are in Egypt - you need to be in a country to use its store, so to use the US store you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account. If there is an app or any other item that you would like to be buy that isn't currently available in the Egyptian store then you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the app's developer or rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Are you sending these imessage while on wifi or cellular data? Also your husband would need to be in a good coverage area.
Usually when imessage is unavailable it will send it as a text. Does your husband receive your imessage as a text?

You must contact the previous owner to have them remove the Activation Lock. There is no way around this. Here are two links. One explains the Activation Lock, and the second one explains what the previous owner needs to do to remove it for you:

How can I get the serial number for CS6 - I did not register it on my adobe account and I don't have the invoice/email from Aug 2012 nor the box anymore. I need the number to move software to a new computer.

I am trying to move Indesign CS6 to a new computer.
To do this I need the serial number of the license.
It seems I did not register the number on my Adobe account as nothing is there.
I bought the software in August 2012 - and no longer have the invoice.
i think we got the software by box but am not sure.

Apple Technical Support number: (44) 0844 209 0611
And ask for the Account Security Team. This worked for me.

I suspect that you are saying that you can't download/install the latest version of iTunes.
All I can say is try removing and reinstalling the Apple software using the following:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you have further problems with installing Itunes I suggest you post in the iTunes forum since you have an iTunes problem, not an iPod problem. Also report the wording of any error messages. What they say is importent on resolving them.

If you quit or were terminated, and your access to the system has been revoked, then there is nothing you and do at this point. Once you deleted the account from your phone, all of the associated data was deleted.

Need to close icloud account and the ipod was stolen

ipod stolen, need to close mail, how do you do it from a regular library account.

If the old iCloud ID ("email address") is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
