Account not in store, your account is not valid for use in the U.S. store. You must switch to the canadian store

Did you ever add a gift card to the account? If it was added in USD, that could be a reason for the error.
Did you sync the apps over from a computer that was shared with someone else, or another account?
Also try Settings > iTunes/App Store > Tap on Apple ID > View Apple ID, and then check payment info and make sure the details are Canadian. Also look at the option that says "Country/Region" and see if it will allow you to change it to Canada.

    My app store and itunes store are stuck in Japanese store. I already moved to the Philippines for about a year ago and my stores still won't change its location.
    I already changed the region/country in my apple id. I tried to sign out and sign in back to my account. Tried it in app store, in itunes store, in settings app, in itunes in my laptop, in the apple website. It shows that my apple id is already set to Philippines, no matter where I sign in my account.

I have read everywhere and most of the answers say that it should automatically direct me to the correct store. It doesn't happen to me, apparently.
    I have the same problem in both my iPhones. Both are iPhone 3GS and in version 5.1.1. I don't want to upgrade to iOS6 so please don't tell me to do so. Thanks!

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

    On you iPhone go to settings-iTunes & AppStore.
    Tap user name, sign out.
    Log back in with your apple ID and password.
    That should fix the problem

    I made some research online and asked a few of my friends with the same problem. All they did was sign out of iTunes from settings>iTunes & App Stores or from the App Store itself and signed back in. It worked for many of them but not with my iPhone 4s. It really does get on my nerves to always sign out and back in to the App Store as it sometimes works and allows me to update and download or most of the time it doesnt.
    When viewing my Apple ID account on my iPhone (after entering the password) it either views my account or says:
    "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the U.S. iTunes Store. You will be switched to that Store. Try your purchase again."
    So I press on OK then either switches me to the App Store app of its choice, or says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".
    I tried restoring iOS6 hoping it was a bad installation, but i still have the same problem.
    Can anyone help me please?

    Are you sure your AppleID is NOT tied to the US store? If you are trying to buy an app from the Swedish store you will be unable to do that. Some apps are only available on certain stores. That is why you get the "Cannot connect to the iTunes store" message when trying to buy that app. Your updates are being done from the US store ; thats why you can update sometimes and sometimes not.
    If you keep encountering problems contact iTunes support. They will help you sort it out.

    The Apple id that you created do you remember if you created with your region sellected as Canada or US. If so you can change Region directly on your device by clicking on App Store icon, Scroll to bottom and tap your app is, click view acct and change region

    I just read this solution, tried it & now it's working...
    I think I found a fix...I went to Settings, iTunes & App Stores, then click on your Apple ID...view Apple ID...change country region to USA (even though it was already USA...just do it again...go through the steps making sure the United States store is selected...agree to the Terms of Service, THEN I think what the key is is to RE-auhorize your credit card...in my case all I had to do was enter the security code...and it worked...I am now able to download the YouTube app for example...couldn't do it before.

    You can only use the iTunes/App Store in the country you are located and the payment method (billing address, where iTunes gift card purchased) has to be associated with that country,

    After updating my iPad2 to iOS6 I cannot update my Apps anymore. Error message says "Account not in this store". I changed my iTunes store to Philippines and synced my iPad. Didn't do any good.

    Go here:
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores > tap your Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region
    and confirm that it's set to the correct country for your account. If it is, try signing out of your account and back in.

    I tried downloading some new apps from within the phone, and this worked fine, and later they updated fine, also within the phone. But the older apps still give the same error when I try to update them.

    I recently tried updating my apps via the App Store from within my iPhone 4. However, I received the error, "Account not in this store. Your account is not valid for use in the UK store. You must switch to the US store before purchasing."
    I checked in Settings -> iTunes and App Stores -> Apple ID -> View Apple ID. It listed my country as the US. To be on the safe side, I selected to change my country and then selected US again and filled in the details. This seemed to work fine, however I got the same error in the App Store.
    I then signed out of my Apple ID and back in again. Still no luck.
    The only other clue I have is that I once lived in the UK (before getting the iPhone), and while I was there I had a UK iTunes account (possibly started there, or possibly started as a US account and converted). When I returned to the US, I switched my iTunes account no problem and have made many purchases with it.
    I'm at a loss now for what to do. Please help.
