Account not in this store FIX (Step by step) iphone

The quick fix for most people is:
1) Find the 'Settings' icon on your iphone screen. Tap to enter.
2) Scroll down to the tab labled 'iTunes & App Stores'. Tap to enter.
3) At the top is a tab labled with your email, eg: 'Apple ID: [email protected]'. Tap to enter.
4) Select the tab labled 'View Apple ID'. Tap to enter.
5) A password box pops up. Enter your password. (Don't forget there must be at least one capital letter and a number. It is the same password you use to download app's)
6) FIXED! You will be at the 'Apple ID Summary' page. This should have changed your country/region setting to your correct location. It seems like nothing has happened but just exit this screen and update/download an app to test it.
# If you get the same error message again follow steps 1 - 5, then on the 'Apple ID Summary' page select the tab 'Country/Region', then select 'Change Country or Region', then manually select your 'Store'.
This fix works for most people. (Sorry to those who are still stuck. I know what it's like to trawl the forums for bug fixes)
It would be great if Apple had a 'FAQ/PROBLEM FIX' video page (youtube or similar) for common problems like this. It should only take one Apple employee five minutes to upload a video fix.

Thank you both for your thoughts. I do seem to have cured the problem but I am not sure how!!
Did a complete restore from my MBP whilst on a visit to the UAE which is where my iTunes account is based.
So the story goes:
In Oman updated to iOS6 and I could not update any of the apps. See original post for a bit more detail.
On a visit to the UAE, did a full restore, and this seems to be solved the problem. Now, I am definitely not very technical, but having downloaded iOS6 once when I did the restore it downloaded iOS6 again and then I did the restore from the MBP in the normal way.
To confuse me even more, I updated 3 iOS devices and 2 worked fine and it was only the one that didn't.
So, looking at the above, maybe you can understand why I am still confused although things seem to be working now. At some stage I have the prospect of moving my store account from the UAE to Oman and I have to say I am not looking forward to that at all.

    I just read this solution, tried it & now it's working...
    I think I found a fix...I went to Settings, iTunes & App Stores, then click on your Apple ID...view Apple ID...change country region to USA (even though it was already USA...just do it again...go through the steps making sure the United States store is selected...agree to the Terms of Service, THEN I think what the key is is to RE-auhorize your credit card...in my case all I had to do was enter the security code...and it worked...I am now able to download the YouTube app for example...couldn't do it before.

    On you iPhone go to settings-iTunes & AppStore.
    Tap user name, sign out.
    Log back in with your apple ID and password.
    That should fix the problem

    The Apple id that you created do you remember if you created with your region sellected as Canada or US. If so you can change Region directly on your device by clicking on App Store icon, Scroll to bottom and tap your app is, click view acct and change region

    Error (1) is associated with a hardware issue, but use these steps -
    These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
    Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
    Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
    Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.

    Whenever I updated or downloaded a new app from the App Store, a message appears saying:

    I made some research online and asked a few of my friends with the same problem. All they did was sign out of iTunes from settings>iTunes & App Stores or from the App Store itself and signed back in. It worked for many of them but not with my iPhone 4s. It really does get on my nerves to always sign out and back in to the App Store as it sometimes works and allows me to update and download or most of the time it doesnt.
    When viewing my Apple ID account on my iPhone (after entering the password) it either views my account or says:
    "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the U.S. iTunes Store. You will be switched to that Store. Try your purchase again."
    So I press on OK then either switches me to the App Store app of its choice, or says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".
    I tried restoring iOS6 hoping it was a bad installation, but i still have the same problem.
    Can anyone help me please?

    Are you sure your AppleID is NOT tied to the US store? If you are trying to buy an app from the Swedish store you will be unable to do that. Some apps are only available on certain stores. That is why you get the "Cannot connect to the iTunes store" message when trying to buy that app. Your updates are being done from the US store ; thats why you can update sometimes and sometimes not.
    If you keep encountering problems contact iTunes support. They will help you sort it out.

    You can only use the iTunes/App Store in the country you are located and the payment method (billing address, where iTunes gift card purchased) has to be associated with that country,

    After updating my iPad2 to iOS6 I cannot update my Apps anymore. Error message says "Account not in this store". I changed my iTunes store to Philippines and synced my iPad. Didn't do any good.

    Go here:
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores > tap your Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region
    and confirm that it's set to the correct country for your account. If it is, try signing out of your account and back in.

    Update: This problem only occurs when trying to UPDATE apps, not buy or download brand new ones. Further, it only fails to update apps that I purchased previously.
    I tried downloading some new apps from within the phone, and this worked fine, and later they updated fine, also within the phone. But the older apps still give the same error when I try to update them.

    I recently tried updating my apps via the App Store from within my iPhone 4. However, I received the error, "Account not in this store. Your account is not valid for use in the UK store. You must switch to the US store before purchasing."
    I checked in Settings -> iTunes and App Stores -> Apple ID -> View Apple ID. It listed my country as the US. To be on the safe side, I selected to change my country and then selected US again and filled in the details. This seemed to work fine, however I got the same error in the App Store.
    I then signed out of my Apple ID and back in again. Still no luck.
    The only other clue I have is that I once lived in the UK (before getting the iPhone), and while I was there I had a UK iTunes account (possibly started there, or possibly started as a US account and converted). When I returned to the US, I switched my iTunes account no problem and have made many purchases with it.
    I'm at a loss now for what to do. Please help.
