Account not recognised by Skype???????????????????...

Right... this has been doing my nut right in, yet another problem with some Microsoft technology!
When MS applications work, they work great, but when they go wrong they go **bleep** up in a big way.
Ive had a Skype account for years, granted I may have not signed in for almost a year, but I dont think its the first time Ive had a long time away from Skype and Ive always been able to sign back into my account.
So... I know my username but forgotten password / hit forgot pwd link / entered account email / received code in email / copy and pasted code into code textbox / hit submit or send whatever it is!
Result: Skype cannot find an associated account, or words to that effect!
I have tried the same process but by sending forgotten pwd code to my mobile in an SMS, the same thing happens! Cannot find my account...
So I fear I have lost all my contacts and any credit I may have had left!!!
So I assumed my account must be gone! I create a new account using my old username... Result: An account already exists with the username supplied. I very much doubt there is another account with my username as it is too unique, a made up word with meaning only to me. If there is another account with this username it would be a first!
More likely however is that my original account still exists, but is failing on an epic scale to allow me to regain access by taking me through the usual automated channels! Or Skype / MS have done some kind of server migration and balls'd it up along the way, which has create some db relational cokc up or something!
So.. next I created a whole new account after reluctantly accepting defeat, and pulling my hair out over the bloody stupid impossible task of trying to get some support from these in house MS developed androids who must be working under the control of the evil Mr BG.
After I successfully created a new account, guess what.... cant sign in with that account, duno who you are. Why not get support or hit the forgotten pwd... grrrrrr! Are you taking the biscuit!?
Another thing; getting support.... going to the support page and hitting the Support request Page link redirects to the create account page. If thats not **bleep**e customer support I dont know what is!!!!
It looks like just a simple link error, more like a way of getting out of doing any work!!!
Third time lucky, new account has allowed me to eventually sign in here and blow off a bit of steam... but still havn't got my original account back!
If anyone gives a hoot, and is able to look into this pain in the arse error, I would be very grateful and try and not slag you off to every person who tries to talk to me about Skype or MS.
FYI: This isnt a byass thinig, because I dont like Apple either with all its locked down culture, so you do have your good points MS.

it's simple, really
in order to get skype support, you have to be logged in using A skype account. if you can't sign in to your "normal" skype account - create another one, I assume it is best to use a separate email account as the primary mail for this.
once that is done, you can sign in and contact skype support and ask questions about your problematic skype account.
you will, of course need to know some facts about the "problematic" account, in order to proove that it is your Account. I doubt you would be happy if Joe Random managed to take over your skype account by just contacting skype support

  • Skype Secondary - will not recognise camera/audio

    Windows XP.  Since upgrading to version 7.7.0.102 when I start up my Secondary account Skype is not recognising my camera/audio and I get the following message under Tools/Options/Video Settings:
    "Can't start video.  Try closing programs qhich might be using your webcam" Any suggestions and help much appreciated.

    Have just done a system restore to before the new version of Skype was installed.  Now back on version 7.5.85.102 and all is working perfectly.
    Could it be that the latest version of Skype is not compatible with Win XP? Hope that this helps others.

    strange enough, I cannot login and cannot retrieve my password as the original email address is no longer active. I cannot change email address either as skype says username is not recognised, because of some billing malaki (buls**t).
    My other contacts can see my username as offline and also how many contacts I have, so the username is clearly still in the system.

    Yes, this is happening to me too and has been happening for the last 24 hours. I attempted to solve this issue on my own but I'm unable to. Somehow my username has just up and vanished from the system and I'm unable to log in, change my password, and if I click "forgot username" it tells me a username that is close to but not my old username.
    I run a business that's based online and I need to use Skype to get a hold of clients. This is completely unacceptable.

    I have been supplied info in an email to copy and paste for a new product purchase "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro OCR" but am unsure how and where to copy and paste to. Also I have tried other products previously downloaded to convert a 7 page PDF file on my Mac and convert it to a Word doc but everything I have tried is converting the file to display some text correctly but also displays random symbols and fonts in place of the handwritten info filled in on the form... also getting blank pages included instead of the info??? Would appreciate some help... I am older generation and not always tech savvy, and it is doing my head in haha.

    I've checked your account, and all is well there. Please make sure that you're logging in with the same Adobe ID/password that you used when you signed up.
    Then, clear the browser cache, and try logging in directly to https://cloud.acrobat.com.

    Welcome to the Apple community Ross.
    If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    My iTunes account is not recognising that I have plugged in my iPad to the computer. Other devices, such as my iPhone, are being recognised, but not the iPad.     The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
    10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
    Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

    I have tried everything to get skype to recognise my web cam again. It used to work fine in a previous version of skype but now nothing seems to work. I have tried reverting back to an earlier version and only get the message "page not found". My suggestion is that Skype should be promoting OTHER free to call programs from other companies, as they dont seem to care about what caused this problem to happen to so many people, and seem uninterested in fixing the problem..     Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
    Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
    Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

    I have 4 iPods all utilizing iTunes on the same computer.  If you open iTunes and THEN connect the new nano, it should automatically recognize it.  Does it give you an error message?
