I am trying to activate a new account for a collegue. His email address is: [email protected] Via the "Lost Password" option he did receive his password. However, the mail with the password did not list his username.
Can you mail the username to the listed email address.

The username is the email address in this case.

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it  has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....

It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck

  • Icloud signin maximum account problem

When i signin Icloud it shows MAXIMUM ACCOUNTS problem.. Anyone helps me in this regard. I'll be thankful.

Create your new AppleID on a computer or other Internet capable device.
Once created, you will be able to use that AppleID on your iPhone.

When I sign into my mobile me account the username and password is not recognised what do I do?

    - Go to settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign into your account.
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • Issues syncing 4S with iTunes - account problem?

I have an iPhone 4S and iTunes 10.5.  This morning I was going to sync my iPhone when I was prompted to authorize my computer - the same MacBook I've been using to sync with for the past two years, the same one I used to setup my 4S last week, etc.  Then I was prompted to enter my AppleID to authorize auto-purchases.  First I tried my Apple ID with the @me.com domain and the correct password, but the credential entry/auth window appeared again.  Re-entered credentials, it reappeared.
So for the third try I entered my old Apple ID, (which was my email address) and password, and the auth window went away.  But now iTunes is sitting on step 7 or 7 (synching Genius data) and the status bar says "Waiting for Objects to Copy", but it never goes further, and I end up ejecting my phone.
I can't tell if this is an iTunes problem, iPhone problem or account problem.  Any ideas?
PS: apologies if this is in the wrong forum, please move as needed...

If you only want the free iPhone apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.
Note that this only applies to the App Store; you will not be able to get any of the free content in the iTunes Store without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.) And since you already started to create an account, you'll probably have to start over, which will mean selecting a different email account; you can set one up temporarily in a free service such as Gmail if you don't have another permanent email, and then go in to your account afterwards and change the email address.
Otherwise you'll have to enter in some sort of payment method, either a credit card (it can probably be one of the "prepaid" ones many banks offer) or a prepaid iTunes card.
    Regards.

  • How do i fix this billing account problem?

I just got my bank card updated, received it in the mail today and when i put in the activated card in my billing account iTunes said i need a proper code. i typed everything and click done and it said the same thing again, there's no button next to the billing card info to remove the card information to switch to gift card as well.

I soon realize that to fix the billing account problem was to redo my card information save, go back on it again found the none button on the end of the creditcard and paypal logo's, i clicked "none" then clicked save, it did give me an error at first but then i just went back clicked none again clicked save and i no longer have this billing issue anymore.

  • Email Account Problems after iOS 5.0.1 update on iPad 2 & iPhone 4

After finishing the iOS 5.0.1 update - I have noticed none of my email accounts are working (i.e. Error saying Incorrent Password or Username).
I have deleted the associated accounts and added them once again, verifying both username and passwords as well and now it will NOT verify any accounts on both. Still no luck on both devices.
Odd that both devices email accounts stop working after the new update?
    Anyone know of a fix/problem?
    Thanks!

Same problem, this happens with any Safari site that requires a user name and password to log in ... frustrating!  I have also posted this issue and will be stopping by Apple on my way home ... I'll let you know what I find out.

  • Multiple account problems

    Hi there,
I have some problems with my account. While I tried to set up a sync account, I am not able to log in.
Resetting the password does not help, the first attempt at reset password fail for not receiving the email. Then requested username, this seems ok. Again tried to reset password, received email, reset password, Still not able to log in. Reset again, no email received.
Tried to remove accounts, but this seems impossible without getting into the account. And this account (from which I am making this post has got the same username) does not have a delete option.
Any tips on what to try next?
    Thanks in advance

  • Weird user account problems

    Hi Everyone,
I am new here, but I find myself searching these forums when I have problems.  Did so for this one and came up empty handed, so I wanted to run it by you guys and see if anyone can help me...
Long story short, I have a mac pro that had lion and I so foolishly decided to upgrade to mountain lion.  Ever since, I have had real minor problems, but general annoyances:
    1) the color profile I have my moniors set to isnt remembered when I log out/restart...however, when i open the display prefs and click color, my monitor switches to the correct color profile I had set before.
    2) a drive keeps popping up in my finder sidebar.  I can remove it, but when I restart it shows back up.
    3) the share menu is unusable.  When I click the button, or right click and hover over the share menu option, finder freezes and needs to be force-reset to be usable.
    4) the security and privacy menu option in system prefs, when clicked, crashes system prefs.
    5) the app store at times will crash on open
I know this is a laundry list, but I feel like they might be related in some way.  The reason for my thinking is, just to test, I created a test user account and a lot/all of these problems are not present in my test account, but are in my main account.  Are there any ways to repair the system files of a user account?  I already tried fixing the permissions of the volume and using the disk utility tool and also fixing the permissions of the individual accounts using the reset password tool in the recovery volume...any other things I can try to fix these problems?  Let me know, thanks

did that, the only thing that seemed to work was osx remembering my display prefs(app store still hangs, security & privacy still hangs, notification center doesnt work, ect)...the only question is I created a new account in hopes of restoring everything manually...when I give the account a new username and short name, everything acts as expected, but if i delete my old account and folder and give it the same name as before, nothing works right...any ideas as to why this is?  let me know, thanks...

  • Change system account to username?

    HI,
I have created out-of-box workflow ,in the version history the modifiedby column  showing as system account instead of username.
so want to display actual username instead of system account.
    help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can check it from
central administration > operations > security configuration > service accounts > credential management > web application pool and you can also change the account. But you’d better use the account which has same
permissions with your current account, or you will encounter more other issues.
Besides, if it is not application pool account, please go to
Central Administration > Application Management > Policy for Web Application.
Then select your web app and if you find your account in the list, click it. In the Edit Users page, clear the
Account operates as System checkbox. That should fix this particular problem.
    Hope it is helpful!

  • Active Directory accounts problem logging in to Mavericks

We have twenty iMacs in a lab and five in an Internet café, all wired to a multiple subnet network. OS X Mavericks is bound to Active Directory.  Frequently OS X Mavericks behaves as if the network user account password is entered incorrectly until the iMac is restarted.  This did not happen when we had Mountain Lion.  We never have problems logging in to Windows computers bound to Active Directory.

  • Crazy POP Account problem receiving emails

I am on Mail 2.08, and my ISP is Media Temple (shared server setup).
I have one account will not download email! It has exactly the same settings as others that work.
I can Get Info and Mail shows that my test message exists on the server. I can go on Squirrelmail and see the mail is there. I can set up the account in Entourage and download the email on the server no problem. I can use this account in Mail to send the test emails (smtp works). I run Connection Doctor and it logs in and says account is fine. There are no errors showing up in any attempts to download the mail, just a spinning wheel and then no mail in the inbox!!
I erased and set up the account on Media Temple's servers. That did not work. I have erased and set up the account within Mail multiple times. I threw out the plist and re-entered the account in Mail and that did not work. I wish I could download a new version of Mail so I can delete this one but don't know how to find that online.
I don't think there is any kind of cache or anything to clear with Mail.
I should note that on my first setup of this account, I set it up as IMAP. My primary email account is IMAP and works great, but when I was trying to make this new account work, Mail.app goes crazy with where it puts the folders for Sent, etc and what is mapped to what. So I then deleted it as IMAP and made new one as POP. I cannot find any evidence of a remainder of this work but wanted to note it here.
Media Temple tech support say they have many Mail.app users calling in with very mysterious problems like this one, that they cannot replicate and often like this where there are other accounts with the exact settings that work while others do not. Or that they suddenly stop working and the users cannot figure out why. I even tried to set up a server-based alias for this account on Media Temple to reroute the email to a new account that I can download on Mail.app but it would still not download them!!
    Help!!!
Thanks in advance for any advice, this has been hard to figure
    Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.6)
    Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Well, I don’t know why it doesn’t work as POP, but if what you really want is to set up this account as IMAP, it seems to me that what you should do is fix and/or understand that instead...
Anyway, assuming the account is actually supposed to work using POP as well and that it has been configured correctly, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
Also, try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc., and see whether that makes a difference.

  • Please help! Bizarre login/user account problem

In 24 years of using Macs, this is the most frustrating thing I've ever faced and I am in desperate need of help.
For the entire story of my circumstances, see below. The short version of my problem: My auto-login user account is corrupt but I can't figure out how to bypass/interrupt it so I can log in to a different user account. Is there a way to use Single User Mode to do this - to get to the regular login screen where I can enter a different user name and password???
I follwed the steps outlined by Michael in this thread, but it did not work
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1124380
Any expedient help is greatly appreciated, I'm in dire straights...my Mac has been down for a week with this problem and my work is suffering.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Nelson
Here's the long version of how I arrived at these circumstances:
I have a single (admin level) user account on my new Mac Pro, with auto-login enabled. The home folder is on a separate internal drive (bay 2) from the OS/applications (bay 1). Out of nowhere, I got the error "You are unable to log in to the user account. Login failed because an error occurred." I was not able to login to my machine. When I tried to boot from my bootable clone backup, got the same error. Tried to boot from the Leopard install DVD, got the 5-language kernel panic screen. Off to the Apple Store.
It didn't occur to me at this time to mention my Home folder being on a 2nd drive, that was my mistake #1. They ended up replacing the logic board and RAM riser cards, neither of which was remotely related to the problem. In the process, they were able to create a new admin-level 'test' user account, and got the machine up and running again. At this point they noticed that there was no other user/Home folder present on the startup drive and at this point I told them that it was located on drive 2. That drive was not appearing in the finder, so apparently it had croaked - and knowing this pretty much explained the original problem, to me at least.
I get home, log in as Test, delete my old user account, create a new user account and put the Home folder for this new account on drive 3. My stupid mistake #2: I used the same name for the new account as my old account, and mistake #3, turned auto-login to this account back on.
But at this point, everything was still working, and I commenced to try to recover my lost Home folder from my Time Machine backup and figure out how to restore all of my system settings, which were wiped out with the creation of the new Test user account. I'll skip over some of the other problems I ran into with Time Machine at this point and get to the real issue: after a couple of successful restarts and logins to my newly created user account (the one with the same name as my old account but with it's Home folder in a different location), the ORIGINAL "You are unable to log in to the user account. Login failed because an error occurred." error has returned.
Now I'm back where I started, and can't figure out how to log in to the Test account that resides on my startup drive, because auto-login is enabled for the 'broken' user account - even though the Home folder for this account is located on a working drive.
I've done tons of searching and can't figure out how to use Single User Mode to login to Test. When I try the login command, it says 'login incorrect', even though I am using the correct user and password. Help!!

well, something is really messed up with those accounts so I would create a new admin account, log into that and go from there.
To do that [enable the root user|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1278], safe boot, log in as root and create a new admin account, also while you are at it disable the auto login.
You can also work from the root account but I would recommend against it. It's not really safe.
