Account suspended two weeks ago - now it's working...

Hi, two weeks ago I tried to log but my account was suspended and skype invited me to log in a live chat to find a way to get my account back.
I logged in but as I didn't have with me at the moment the number of my credit card they couldn't give any information.
Today I tried to figure it out again and I logged in normally!
Checking my calls and my credit I can see that in the last month (I didn't use my account) some calls have been made and then it seems that somebody tried to buy a premium skype subscription on September 2.
What shall I do? Why did Skype suspend my account and then open it again even if I didn't give any information?
I changed my password today. Is it enough?
Is there any chance I get back the money that have been taken from my account?

160 gb is a small drive and yours is pretty full, I would get a external drive and back up ASAP, so if it does fail you still have your data. When a drive gets that full it has to do a lot off work searching. It could also be a logic board problem.
Get a back up dive, with drives it's not if it will, but rather when it will fail.
Bring it in and have it evaliuted, the diagnosis is free.

I figured it was the hard drive finally giving up on me, so I just left it. Now, a week later, decided to turn it on to see if it worked, and lo and behold, it does. I'm typing this on it as it is. Still, I'm scared it's gonna crash again, so I'm looking for a new hard drive (and back-up drive) to install it before that happens. Before though, I want to make sure its the hard drive that's the problem. Has anyone had anything similar happen? What was the problem?

    If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Doesn't hurt to call the police. 
    The SIM wasn't replaced; if it were, you wouldn't have been able to locate it.

    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

    Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like the Mail app on your iPad mini is showing that you have over 500 unread email messages, but your inbox is actually empty.
    There are several steps I'd use to troubleshoot this situation.
    First, restart your iPad to see if it clears up the symtom:
    Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    If this doesn't correct the behavior, try removing and re-adding the affected email accounts next:
    Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    Delete the affected email account from your device.
    Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
    If the same thing happens after re-adding the account, you may need to use the steps below to reinstall iOS. You may want to back up your iPad to iTunes before completing this step.
    Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
    Put your device in recovery mode.
    When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

    A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
    No content is affected by this procedure.

    I can't stand peremptory affirmations like "Nothing is wrong with Safari".
    Thousands of users can't be wrong (see the discussions).
    If I read you the right way, it's never software' fault, it's the user who's the culprit.

    In this very case, the fact is we can't give to "christinefromfonthill" a good solution because weren't sitting in front of her Mac.
    You give her a good advice which could, perhaps, lead to an improvement.
    But must also admit that Safari is a very slow browser compared to Firefox or Chrome.
    And you can't ignore all the problems which arose when upgrading to Lion and were related to the new build and specs of Safari 5.1.
    The best example is the apparition of "garbage type" (use of Last Resort font) when reading numerous sites. This never occured before and is the direct consequence of Safari compliance to Web Open Type. This standard prohibits the use of Type 1 Postscript Fonts and is the reason why so many people are in trouble.
    I use a Mac for more than 25 years.
    I am a very "clean" user who hates the bells and whistles of third party.
    My Mac is always up-to-date and despite all my Mac loving care, I run into some problems.
    Imagine the nightmare which can occurs for the vulgum pecus who isn't, by definition, a power user aware of all the requirements for running a System in optimal conditions.
    May be Safari is one step in advance on its time but lambda users are paying the price for it.

    Backup in case your disk is failing.
    Start up in Safe Mode;  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204?viewlocale=en_US
    If it boots reliably in Safe Mode then it is probably a software issue.
    Reset PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
    Boot in Recovery Mode.  (Hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys as your computer restarts.)  Run Disk Utility.  Click on the upper left system disk icon.  Does S.M.A.R.T. report “Verified”?  If not the disk is failing and will need to be replaced.  Click on the icon underneath and indented to the right, usually called “Macintosh HD”.  Repair Disk.  It should finish normally with a green OK message.  If it does not try to repair it again. 
    If it will not finish with the green OK message then use Disk Utility to erase the drive and then reinstall OS X.  (Be sure you have a backup before erasing the disk.  Post back if you need instructions on how to do that.)
    If it repaired all errors and is still not booting normally, reinstall OS X.
    If it is still sick after all these steps then the disk probably needs to be replaced.  You can do that inexpensively and fairly easily yourself or take it to an Apple store for them to do it for you at a higher cost.  If it is still under warranty or AppleCare have Apple do it for you for free.  Post back if you need instructions on replacing the disk.  You may want to have Apple check the health of the system and disk before replacing it yourself.

  • Two weeks ago fine, now all playback is Jittery

    I have been all over the forums reading posts about others with what sounds like the same problem. So far, I've got no fix for mine.
    Footage IN PLAYBACK ONLY in FCPX 10.1.1 is jittery, it's like somebodies trying to make a rap album both video and audio jitter thoughout play, though audio is 'less' affected.
    Two weeks ago I did not have this problem.
    All my old projects are equally effected.
    Files ingested for new project are same as all other projects.
    Model Name:          Mac Pro
    Model Identifier:          MacPro4,1
    Processor Name:          Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed:          2.26 GHz
    Number of Processors:          2
    Total Number of Cores:          8
    L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
    L3 Cache (per Processor):          8 MB
    Memory:          16 GB
    Internal Harddrive with FCPX: 565 Gb available (out of 2TB)
    Internate Harddrive with Media files: 480 GB available (out of 2TB)
    (This is the exact same thing it was two weeks ago)
    Media: Proxy media, optimized media. All rendered. Does not matter which I choose.
    Quality: Better Performance.
    Does not matter if background rendering is going or has finished.
    I've deleted perferences. No fix.
    Last ditch effort is to reinstall FCP see if that fixes it.
    Any help, much appreciated. Major deadline coming up. And while I could probably work with it (render files out of it are perfectly fine, media files ingested into it playback fine) it's quite a nuisance to do any fine tune editing.

    Reinstall did nothing to change it. And I've also noticed a couple of other weird anomalies with FCPX, see below

    Did all those and no change. Tried all sorts of variations of the display settings, no change.
    Things I also did where to complete close out, open up a clean copy, create an entirely new library for just the ingest.  Had some issues with the CREATE button as it seemed to create the library and then froze on the screen and wouldn't go away, if I clicked create again it said there was one already named that if I tried to hit cancel nothing happens. Finally had to quit, restart.
    No change.
    Russ. I have absolutely NO other issues with video in any other programs I use. It's hard to believe it's the video card BUT to rule that out, is there a way I can get a definitive answer to the card being good or bad?

    Thanks roaminggnome....my teenage son uses this phone and hasn't backed it up...so I don't want to restore it to factory settings just yet. Tried your other suggestions with no joy so if it comes on normally after discharging the battery tonight I'll restore it after backing up all his contacts ,music etc.
    I was curious as to what the fault actually is as no-one seems to have had this one where I've looked on the internet.
    The phone was dropped and subsequently repaired through insurance in Sept 2011 and they issued me with another imea number so the complete internals of the phone must have been replaced by them so I hope that the fault is covered by their normal warranty on work carried out.     I have input the serial number of my new purchase of ipod photo (second hand) on the support page two weeks ago and it detected that it still have 120 days left for the service plan. But I have just tried to do it again today and it says that there is no such number.
    I live in Canada and I cannot use the page for adding a serial number on the website. What should I do? Does anyone know why is this happenening? I've got this second hand, I hope it's not because this product was stolen or anything!!

  • My "What's happening today?" status keeps changing to something I set it to two weeks ago.

    At work we use Microsoft Lync 2013.  I have used the "What's happening today" status line in the Lync client so people can keep updated on things from me when I am away from desk.  Two weeks ago I was busy moving IT equipment into another
    building, so I had in my status bar a little blurb about equipment moves.
    Now off an on for the last two weeks, my "What's happening today" keeps reverting back to that blurb about equipment moves.  I'll change it by either blanking it out, putting in a different status like "Spring is here finally!" and
    guess what?  In due time it reverts back to the old status from 2 weeks ago.  
    I rebooted my PC and still it seems to be an issue.  I am not sure if other people see this status when it reverts back or not, but next time I will log in with a test account from my laptop and see how I appear in the contact list.

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
