I bought a MacBook Air, which came with iLife installed and now when I want to upgrade iphoto the following message appears:
"There are updates available to other accounts
To update this application, log on to the account you used to buy it. "
But I have other accounts ... just one.
I do not know what to do and I really want this update to be able to use icloud .= /
Did you register the apps with the App Store when you set up the machine? If not, contact the App Store for help.

The the account you used to "purchase" iPhoto is the Apple ID you used to set yoru couputer up with - log into th eApp store using that Apple ID and look under purchases - if you have not accepted the App yet then you will have to accept it first

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

You can't. Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID. In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer. And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.

How can i update an app that was installed on a disabled account?
I had an account but disabled it because I made another one.
On the app store it says update an app but I cant because it was installed on the first account which is disabled.
Is it possible for me to update it without uninstalling and installing it again on my new account as I dont want to buy the app again?The only way to be able download the update to the app on your new account would be to delete the app from your iPad (which will also delete all of its content/settings) and buy/download it on your new account - you can't merge accounts nor transfer content from one account to another account.
You might be able to re-enable the first account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it. -
I had uninstalled iMovie 10 after it was updated and decided to reinstall it but it won't update, iMovie 10 update is stuck at installed in my App Store account. How do I get it the update to revert to uninstalled so I can re-update iMovie 10 to 10.0.1? iMovie 9.0.9 (iLife 11) is still installed and working.

I have moved to uk from ireland and bought new iphone, set up using my existing Apple ID account and profile but won't let me buy install or update apps??
Can anyone advise me on what I need to do?
My existing account is linked to ireland as my bank account details are there, does this make a difference?
Please help!Until you get a UK bank account and credit card, buy and redeem UK iTunes gift cards for use in the iTunes and Mac App Stores. But you need to switch your region/country to the UK store in your account information, as you can't use UK iTunes gift cards in the Irish stores, the gift cards are country specific.

My dad bought a new retina macbook pro over a year ago.
The pre-installed iPhoto and iMovie applicaitons get this error when trying to download an update:

As requested... You need to use the SAME Apple ID that Originally made the Purchase of whatever Application you are trying to Update. -

You will need to login on the device using the same exact Apple ID that was used to download the app. You can not use abother account login to buy in app purchases to prevent fraud.
If you keep getting this warning, you are not logged into the original account. -
When trying to install a new app on my iPhone 4S, i received a message: "This is not a Test User account. Please create a new account in the Sandbox environment". What does this mean? I cannot update or download any app. Thanks
Common on jailbroken iPhones, not so on non-jailbroken iPhones. Thus, if your phone is not jailbroken, restoring from backup will hopefully fix the issue.

Theres an update required for the twitter app on the app store, but i didnt even download the app or install it on my Macbook. It needs to be updated under some random apple id account. How do i get rid of this?

Try updating the App (and your account details if necessary) on your computer and then sync the updated App to your phone. Then maybe it will be resolved.

This is a user to user forum; there is no one from Apple here to get back to you. Apps and music are forever associated with the Apple ID account they were purchased with. There is no way to transfer them to a different account. That is why Apple lets you change the email address associated with your account without having to get a new account. If you didn't do this, but instead got a completely new account, you are out of luck. You can still go back to the old account and just get a new email address for it.
