Account transfer of iPAD

I need to give my iPad Gen 1 away to a family member but want to leave all free/purchased apps on the iPad but linked to a new iTunes/Apple account?
How can I do this?  I will reuse my original iTunes accuont for a new iPad to be purchased.

You can not transfer apps to a different account. When they sync on their new computer, it will delete your apps if they aren't on the new computer.
Have them download the free apps under their account and then decide which paid apps they want to repurchase, or you'll have to log in under your account to put them on their computer. This will be a reoccurring problem when apps need updated.
The music, if free, can be file-copied to their computer, but not the paid music, unless you authorized their computer for your account.
So, if done correctly, you can make most of it work, but it's a pain....

Can I transfer the money over?

Not on your own. Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff to put it back onto the card; they'll only do this if none of the balance has been spent.

  • How can I transfer my iPad to my daughter?

How can I transfer my iPad to my daughter? I need to change the email address that is set for me and I also need to switch out the iTunes accounts so she can access her account instead of mine. How can she download her music to this device and can she sync her iPod to it as well?

Not sure just what you mean by that.  You cannot directly sync two iOS devices to each other.  You can manage as many devices as you have in one installation of iTunes to put the same content on both.  Also, if she has an iPod Touch, and an iCloud account, she can just set up the same iCloud account on both and sync both to iCloud to share content.

    Hi ,

"This ipad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized with that purchased item on this ipad"
I did authorized in the store, but still did not transfer to the mac. Could you please to tell me what should I do it? Please let me know that as soon as possible.
    Regards,
    Thank you

The iPad is fine.  But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad.  You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

  • How to transfer an iPad to a different user I'd.

I linked an iPad to my user id that my brother bought for his granddaughter and updated the iOS.  Now that the iOS is updated how do I transfer the ipad to his account?

How did you "link" the iPad to your ID? If you knew how to do that - wouldn't you know how to "link" back to the other ID?
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out, sign back in with his or his grandaughter's ID.

  • Music files don't transfer to iPad

    I desperately need help!
I've upgraded my iPad from the first retina version (running iOS 6) to the last retina before iPad Air. The "new" iPad is running iOS 8.1.2.
I'm running iTunes 11.4 on an iMac 27" running OSX 10.9.5.
After the switch/upgrade I cannot get my music library to synch with the iPad. Since I have about 60gigs of music in iTunes I've created a (smart) playlist with the music I want to have on my iPad.
If I goto "On this iPad" in iTunes, and chose "Music" I can see the songs I want to synch, but they are greyed out with a circle before the song name. Now, this is, I guess, what music in the cloud would look like but I don't use, and never have used, Music Match.
I've searched forums for solutions and have tried the following:
    - Restoring the iPad from the last backup. Doesn't help.
    - Deleting my iCloud account from the iPad, making a backup of the iPad, restoring it from the last saved backup without an iCloud account. Doesn't help.
    - "Unsynch" the music from the iPad (that really isn't synched anyway). Making a backup of the ipad. Restoring it. Set the iPad to synch the playlist. Doesn't work. I end up with greyed out music.
    - Restoring the iPad from the last backup of my old iPad (that ran iOS 6). Doesn't help.
During all these attempts the only music files I've ever got to transfer to my iPad have been music purchased in iTunes (and since I'm old fashioned and prefer to own music in physical formats that isn't much).
The only thing I haven't tried is to restore my iPad as a new one. I haven't done this since I will lose quite a bit of data and I refuse to accept that Apple have created new software that prevents me from doing what Ive always done when purchasing a new iPhone or iPad; pluggin it into the computer and restore from the last backup of my old device and then continue using it as before, without any hassle. Since I've, until now, refused to upgrade my devices to iOS 7/8 I'm pretty sure my problem is caused by iOS 8. I'm also in the process of upgrading from an iPhone 5 (running iOS 6) to an iPhone 5S (running iOS 8) but since I'm having this problem with my iPad I'm pretty sure I will end up in the same problem on the iPhone. So at the moment I'm stuck!
Is there anything else I need to try?

OK, so I have now tried migrating from iPhone 5 (iOS6) to iPhone 5S with the latest iOS8. And as I expected I'm having the exact same problems with my music  files that won't transfer to my iPhone, just as they won't transfer to my iPad.
    Any suggestions?

What is the best way to set up business accounts with multiple ipads?

Here are three different methods >
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495
This article > iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    suggests using contacts groups.
When syncing contacts, you can choose to sync all of your contacts or only selected groups.
You can select a group of contacts to which all new contacts created on your iOS device will be added.
You can set up groups in the Address Book application.
If you are all going to use the same iTunes apps library, turn off "Automatically sync new apps" in the apps tab just below the list of apps.  Then you won't get new apps on your device unless you select them.

  • HT1491 my PC has an itunes account with my email;  my IPAD uses my "me" account.  How can I get the credit in the PC account onto my Ipad?

I have a windows PC with ITUNES 10 and an IPAD 2 running 5.0.
The PC has an ITUNES account with my windows email id.  ITUNES will NOT let me change this to a "ME" account which is what the IPAD is using.  If I change the IPAD to use the email account, my understanding is that apps purchased with the "ME" account will no longer work.  How can I get the $33 credit from the email account onto the IPAD?

Qauzzy,  The credit was applied to the account you used at the time you redeemed the card.  There is no way to transfer the credit to another account.
You might as well just spend the $25 on the new account, and then stop using it and go back to your regular account..
For future reference, do not start a new account just because you have a problem with the code.  Rather, follow the suggestions in this document: iTunes Store: Invalid, inactive, or illegible codes

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

  • HT1689 My wife has iTunes account on her iPad and I have iTunes account on my iPad can we share purchased apps?

So I purchased an app on my iPad but sometimes I use her iPad can I add her to my account or vice versa so that we can have the purchased apps and music on both iPads?

You can't add the app to her account, that copy is tied to yours. Do you sync to the same computer's iTunes ? If you do, and that app is on it (if it isn't then File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy it over), then you should be able to sync that app to her iPad. If you use different computers then you could copy it over and add it to her computer's iTunes library (Store > Authorise This Computer for your account and File > Add To Library to add it) and then sync it (you can find where an app is stored on your computer by right-clicking it in the Apps part of your computer's iTunes library and selecting 'show in explorer' on the pop-up, and you can then copy it to, for example, a flash-drive to copy over to her computer).
If you log into your account on her iPad (or computer's iTunes) and re-download that app then you risk tying her iPad (or computer) to your account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • Can you have more than one user account on an Ipad

can you have more than one account on the ipad.

    But...
You CAN connect an iPad to multiple Apple ID's, one-at-a-time, if you're willing to share a combined pool of apps, music, movies, photos, podcasts, and perhaps, email accounts, and sync things manually.
First, uncheck the option to 'automatically sync' mobile devices in the preferences for each iTunes account, so that you're not accidentally installing or removing content when you connect the iPad to a computer.
    Here's how we do it:
I have a MacBook with two user accounts and two Apple ID's: "Hers"-used only for iTunes/iPad manual sync-ing and backup; and "Mine", used for all my Mac programs, plus iPad Apps that I'm interested in.
The iPad2 is her only computing device, used primarily for email and web-browsing.
On her iPad2, we have a combined 'pool' of apps, photos, and music.
We use her Apple ID for her email, and to sync and back up.
I use my Apple ID to download a lot of free apps to my MacBook.
In the App Store, I sign out of her Apple ID and use my Apple ID to transfer and update the apps I want to try out. Then I can delete them from her iPad when I'm done 'playing', yet leave them on my MacBook for future re-installation, if desired.
To simplify email privacy, we've configured the iPad Mail app exclusively for her MobileMe and Hotmail accounts. I connect to my email accounts with the Safari browser, or from my MacBook.
    Hope that helps!
I'm not certain how iOS 5 and iCloud might enhance or restrict my ability to manage this in the future.

  • Can I use Apple Configurator 1.6 to install Apps from multiple iTunes accounts on 30 iPads

Can I use Apple Configurator 1.6 to install Apps from multiple iTunes accounts on 30 iPads in South Korea?

Thank you again.  I am actually just using a single computer at thsi time but will be setting up a Mac Mini in a day or so.
I actually believe I authorized my Mac Book for both my wife and my iTunes account.  Yesterday when I hooked her iPhone up it told me that my computer was not authorized to download an app, i had to authorize this macbook.
So if the Apps from both iTunes account  is on my Mac Book and I hook up my iPhone it will allow my to transfer the apps from my computer to my iphone?  So lets say I am logged into iTunes account #1 and I try to use an app from iTunes account #2 will I have to do anything special?
    Again thanks
