  • Report for foreign currency revaluation - FAGL_FC_VAL

    Hello Experts,
I have executed FAL_FC_VAL - Foreign Currency Revaluation Program. System posted some accounting entry for the same. However, I want to know how system calculated and for which invoices it calculated.
For this I want a report from SAP, for foreign currency revaluation. Please let me know the TCode for the report.
I can see some output on screen, showing calculation, during test run. But it does not get saved anywhere.
    Please help

    Hello Ms Meena,
You can achieve to have this if you are in ECC 6.0 by activating the Logs to be stored.
This can be done via FAGL_FC_VAL & go to the last tab as below.
Precondition : Make sure before user run the revaluation they click on both tick mark.
    Click on Logs
give the date when they it is run & execute
    Select the log
Here you can select your fields like vendor name/customer name/GL account Name.
I would strongly suggest to create a variant by yourself & save & then ask the user to change the date to revaluation everymonth.
    Many thanks

  • Customisation for foreign currency revaluation

I have to post the revaluation for GL accounts like VAT gl accounts to a GL account XXX. I have maintained the GL accounts for which reval needs to be calculated in the variant of the  job FAGL_FC_VALUATION . after this, where this account XXXX should be maintained ?

    Hi Rudra,
It is not for all GL's that system will carry out revaluation. Only when you define the GL's in customizing in SPRO will you get the revaluation done in FAGL_FC_VALUATION.
    For this Go to
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide  Financial Accounting(New)  General Ledger Accounting(New)  Periodic Processing  Foreign Currency valuation  Prepare Automatic Postings for Foreign Currency Valuation
On the Maintain FI Configuration: Automatic Postings-Procedures, choose Transaction KDF and make the entries:-
You need to maintain One Gain/Loss account which is a P/L account and that gets posted when you make payments during the month and it is realized gain/loss. But if you want to post it at month end for open items then you need to enter in val Loss 1/Val Gain 1 and this GL gets posted when you run this transaction FAGL_FC_VALUATION.
Bal Sheet Adjust.1 is the account to which AR/AP adjustment is posted to.
    Hope this helps..

  • Fees account for foreign currencies in payment run F110

    Dear all,
I have a problem with a house bank with several bank accounts. At the foreign currency accounts with the same account number, the bank charges are always charged at the foreign currency accounts and not at the Euro account (house currency).
Our desire is that the bank charges are settled in the Euro account.
It seems, that for each record of a foreign currency account to be debited, it requires an own charge account. For foreign currency accounts with different account number to the Euro account is the setting without any problems. In the house bank with foreign currency accounts the fields for the fee accounts were not filled in the payment transfer medium.
How should the setting be, so that bank accounts with different currencies, the fees are cleared only on the Euro account?
We have SAP ECC 6.0 with SAP_APPL 600 Level 12.
If I have missed important information or if my words were indistinct please feel free to ask.
    Thanks for any help.
    Greetings

    Hello Marssel,
sorry, perhaps I described my scenario wrong.
I have only one House Bank with several Account IDs. All but one have the same Bank account number.
    For example:
    House Bank......................Account ID........................Bank Account No
    050.....................................AUSL.................................0444940000
    050.....................................CHF....................................0444940000
    050.....................................EURO.................................0444940000
    050.....................................SCHCK...............................0444940000
    050.....................................SGD...................................0444940001
    050.....................................USD....................................0444940000
This is the "Bank Account Overview" in transaction FI12.
The house bank country in FI12 is DE for Germany and the ISO Currency Code for the Charges Account is EUR.
The Bank Number and Account Number (0444940000) for the Charges Account are also filled in FI12.
The currencies of Bank GL Account in FS00 are for the foreign currency accounts CHF, SGD and USD. The rest are in house currency EUR.
After starting F110 the bank fees are charged at the foreign currency accounts in CHF and USD. But we want that they are charged over the Euro account in Euro.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Issue while doing Incoming Payment & Foreign Currency Revaluation

    Hi,
When i am doing Customer Incoming Payment, we are getting one more line item Foreign Currency Revaluation with Zero amount.
    Bank A/c - Debit
    Customer A/c - Credit
Foreign Currency Revaluaiton A/c - Credit
Why Foreign Currency Revaluation Accounting is coming into the Picture? How can i remove this from settings? Please advise me..
    Thanks
    KC

    Hi,
Check Table T030H, whether for the customer reconciliation account the entry is maintained there.
Secondly, you are getting this entry because, the customer line item that you are clearing is in a currency different from your local currency.

  • Foreign Currency - Revaluation / Translation

    Hi:
I wanted to discuss and understand the best practice for foreign currency revaluation and translation routine.
This is how we do and configured the revaluation / translation routine:
    Valuation Area:
SG for revaluation - Currency Type 10 (Local)
S2 for translation - Currency Type 30 (Group)
    Valuation Method: EVR (Always Valuate)
In the ledger currencies for 30, "Translation taking transaction currency as a basis".
Plus other coniguration for account determination (both revaluation and translation). - OBA1 and "Define Account detemination for currency translation".
Based on this configuration, we run following transactions at month end:
    Revaluation:  FAGL_FC_VAL using S2
    Translation: FAGL_FC_TRANS using SG
So what it does is, it revalue document currency into local currency and then translate document currency into group currency.
Ideally, what should be as per GAAP is: Revalue document currency into local currency and then translate local currency into group currency.
In our configuration, we are not able to translate out of local books. The configuration translates from document currency to group currency.
Are we missing anything in the configuration or this is standard? What is the best practice or how other companies are running the revaluation/translation routine?
    Scenario is:
    Document Currency: AUD
    Local Currency: GBP
    Group Currency: USD
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Rahul

As per US GAAP, FASB 52 -
    Step (1):-
Re-measurement - Revalue all the balance sheet accounts/open items with 'Document currency' other than 'Local currency' based on spot rate and post this difference to a P&L account (Unrealized Exchange Gain/Loss Account) in 'Local currency'. Do not impact the 'Group currency' here.
    Step (2):-
B/S Translation - Revalue all balance sheet accounts from 'Local currency' to 'Group currency' based on the spot rate and post the difference to Cumulative Translation Adjustment account (CTA) in 'Group currency' only. CTA is balance sheet account.
    Step (3):-
Unrealized Exchange Gain/Loss Translation - Revaluate the P&L account that's been used in step(1) for exchange differences, from 'Local currency' to 'Group currency' based on spot rate and post the difference to Cumulative Translation Adjustment account (CTA) in 'Group currency' only.
    Notes:-
    1) Equity and retained earning accounts are never revaluated.
    2) CTA account is grouped together with Equity accounts in reporting.

  • Foreign currency revaluation using  customer or vendor accounts

    Dear friends,
I am new to the forum and I wonder whether there is a foreign currency revaluation procedure (besides SAPF100) which can generate revaluation postings using customer or vendor accounts directly, instead of G/L accounts.
Supposedly for example, we had a customer Denmark National  Bank, with id  400006A, and this account had a  debit  balance of  10000,00 EUR – local currency, which would be 750000,00 DKK – foreign currency (if for instance, the original rate was  7,50 DKK / EUR).
At the time I run FC valuation for customer 400006A, the currency rate could be for example 8,00 DKK/EUR.
Thus, the new LC amount that arises after valuation : 9375,00 EUR (which is 75000,00 DKK / 8,00).
In this way, I would have an amount loss of: 10000,00 – 9375,00 = 625,00 EUR.
Then, if we were to apply such customer valuation based on business area, we could probably have the following posting:
PKey   Bus. Area Account  FC amount (DKK) LC amount (EUR)
    17       0017    400006A  75000,00       10000,00
    04       0017    400006A  75000,00        9375,00
    40       0017 6910000000      0,00         625,00
In this way, customer 400006A is credited with an amount of 10000,00 EUR and balances out.
A new balance of 9375,00 EUR is created after valuation, and an amount  loss of  625,00 is posted to G/L Main Loss Account 6910000000 (or to a G/L profit account in case of  an amount gain).
Program SAPF100 works in a slightly different way, in the sense that it posts valuation differences in G/L accounts rather than to customer or vendor accounts directly in the way that was described above.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Orestis,
I imagine this is correct, because for the vendors/customers, we have the reconciliation account. In the reconciliation account, we should record only the open and closed items (I can't see any process that would record foreign currency valuation differences in the reconciliation account).

    Daniel Carvalho.

  • Balance sheet adjustment account for Foreign Currency Valuation

    Hi all,
I know that we enter AP /AR balance sheet adjustment account for Open items account when we configure for Foreign currency valuation with Tcode OBA1 and KDF. I wanted to know what account can I enter in that field for other balance sheet account which are not open item managed?
Also, Do we valuate GR/IR accounts in foreign currency valuation??  If yes, what balance sheet adjustment account do we enter for those accounts?
    Thank you.

    HI,
The valuation of <b>foreign currency balances</b> requires a special key that is assigned the gain and loss accounts for posting any exchange rate differences that occur during valuation. You can freely define this key. You then enter it in the master records of the accounts that you want to valuate. To post the differences that are determined from a group of G/L accounts to the same gain or loss accounts, enter the same key for all these G/L accounts.
Create the Create here with Tcode OBA1 and KDB-Exch. Rate Diff. using Exch. Rate Key
And assign this in the GL account master in the Control Tab.
    Thanks
    Vijay

  • G/L account picked for the "wrong" source system entry

    Dear Experts,
in SRM 7.0, Classic Scenario, i am facing the following issue with respect to G/L account determination in the SC:
We have three R/3 systems connected to SRM. All these R/3 systems use the same Material Groups, but the G/L accounts are different in each R/3 system.
In the Table "Determination of G/L Account using product categories", i have maintained the repsective combinations. For each combination of product category and account assignment category, the respective G/L account is defaultet for the respective source system.
But in the shopping cart, the determination of the correct G/L does not always work. When a user enters the shopping cart initially with a line item that is accounted to his default account assignment category, than the correct G/L account for his source system is derived. But if he changes the account assignment category of the line item, than a G/L account from a "wrong" source system is getting picked up from the table.
I have checked the GUIDs of the product categories between "Comm_category" and "bbp_det_account" and they are correct.
What can be the reason for the picking of the G/L account from the wrong source system?
Can the note 1357871 bring the correction?
    Thank you very much!

    Hello Dima,
I think your problem comes from your source system for product category management.
Could you clarify one point: if you change account assignment category, does new G/L account have to be determined for same backend system too or not ?
If yes, correct new G/L account will be determined using your customizing (IMG: SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Account Assignment > Define G/L Account for Product Category and Account Assignment Category ).
If it does not work, log an OSS message.
If no, you need to switch value for each SC item field BBP_PDIGP-LOGSYS_FI from old backend source system to the new one. For this, use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.
Then, your customized G/L account definition for product category  and account assignment category should be OK.
    Regards.
    Laurent.

  • Money Transfer between two foreign currency bank accounts

    Hello,
Company A's functional (company code) currency is GBP.
It maintains bank accounts in GBP, EUR and USD.
How can it transfer money in SAP between its USD and EUR bank accounts without going via GBP account?
Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.
    sumit

    Hein,
Thanks for the reply though it is not that straight forward.
The situation here is that account # 100 is EUR denominated, account # 200 is USD denominated. The co. code is GBP denominated.
Now, I want to move money from my USD account to the EURO account directly.
If I go to FB50 or FB01 and enter USD as the transaction currency for the JV and enter USD account # 200 as a credit and EUR account # 100 as a debit, SAP does and will error out as the EUR account can only be posted in EUR, not USD and not GBP or any other currency for that matter.
So, the question still remains, How do I move money between two foreign currency bank accounts without going thru the functional currency bank account?
Btw, I do understand that SAP will calculate the equivalent GBPs in local currency on each line.

    Dear Jhaanu,
Please fallow below Details and see step by step. it should help full for you..
    Purpose
This wiki provides a demonstration of valuation of Open Items In Foreign Currencies
    Overview
From the help.sap.com documentation the following is stated
Valuation of Open Items in Foreign Currencies.
    Use
All open items in foreign currency are valuated as part of the foreign currency valuation:
The individual open items of an account in foreign currency form the basis of the valuation, that is, every open item of an account in foreign currency is valuated individually.
Example of open items are customers, Vendors, or GL accounts managed on open item basis (SKB1-XOPVW = X)
The total difference from all the open items in an account is posted to a financial statement adjustment account. The account therefore retains its original balance.
The exchange rate profit or loss from the valuation is posted to a separate expense or revenue account for exchange rate differences as an offsetting posting.
A valuation cannot be made by posting to the payables/receivalbes account, since reconcilation accounts cannot be directly posted to.
For this reason the amount is posted to an adjustment account, which appears in the same line of the balance sheet as the reconcilation account
    Step 1 - General customizing
Local currency of company EUR -
Implementation Guide: Financial accounting (New) -> Financial accounting global settings (New) -> global Parameters for company code - Transaction code OBY6

Change in exchange rate occurs 1 USD now equals 1,63 EUR
SAP Easy Access Screen choose -> Accounting -> Financial Accounting -> Accounts Payable -> Accounting -> FBL1N -Display/Change Line items
Step 3 - Review of Foreign Currency Valuation customizing
Prior to performing a foreign currency valuation review of customizing:
Implementation Guide:Finanical Accounting (New) -> General Ledger Accounting (New) -> Periodic Processing -> Valuate
    Define Valuation Methods
    Define valuation Areas
    Define Accounting Principles
Check Assignment of Accounting princples to ledger Group
*required if you have more than one ledger
Perpare Automatic Postings for Foreign Currency Valuation
Select Transaction KDF, enter Chart of Accounts
The Target Accounts for KDB/KDF can also be defined per valuation area
    Account Determination per Valuation Area
Step 4 - Perform Foreign Currency Valuation
To perform a foreign currency valuation, from the SAP Easy Access Screen, choose Accounting -> Financial Accounting ->
General ledger/Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payalbe -> Periodic processing -> Closing -> Valuate -> Foreign Currency Valuation (New)
    Transaction FAGL_FC_VAL (Program FAGL_FC_VALUATION)
    Execute
    Click on Postings button
To create valuation documents create postings must be ticked on, if you execute without create postings ticked, this means that program is run in test mode.
If there are errors when posting, a batch input session is created (transaction SM35)
Update run is saved in table FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY

  • Over Payments for foreign currency

    Hi
We placed a message, that over payments and underpayments does not work for foreign currency business partners. See SAP Note 1068260.
The SAP Support gave us the feedback, that we can not place a "Missing Funktionality Request" in that case.
What should we do that our customers can use the SAP Business One properly?

    Hi,
When the revaluation program is run (normally during month end), the foreign currency transactions will get revaluated and the loss/gain gets posted to the B/S adjustment account.
If the program, in the above step, was run with the "Reverse posting" indicator marked, the documents created in the above step would be reversed automatically on the 1st day of the next month. Thus the adjustment account gets set off.
If the "Reverse posting" indicator was NOT set, then during the invoice payment, the adjustment entry (from the first step) gets reversed. In the payment document you can find an additional entry that sets off the B/S adjustment account.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Mike
