Accounts in two countries results in iTunes Match problem

I have an iTunes account for the US store and one for the Germany store. I have iTunes Match only on the US account. I had iTunes Match setup and working well (more or less well that is), then logged into the German store and downloaded some songs I had previously purchased but not downloaded. This resulted in my Mac not being able to be associated to the US account again.
The first time this happened Apple Support unlocked my US account, but they are refusing to unlock it a second time, and say that I need to wait for 90 days.
I would think that using my Mac for stores in different countries is legitimate since I have an address and bank account in those countries, but now I am effectively locked out of my US account and cannot use the full iTunes Match functionality.
Has anyone else run into this issue and do you have a suggestion?
BTW: There are other issues specific to iTunes Match and how it handles purchases from other country stores, but I will tackle that one my account is restored.

You can set up two separate iCloud account, for which you will need two separate Apple IDs.
You can sign one account in at System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - this will be the 'primary account'. You would enable Mail, Contacts. Calendars etc. as required.
You can then sign in the other account in System Preferences (or Settings)>Mail, Contacts and Calendars. The email Contacts and Calendars will appear alongside those for the primary account, listed under the separate account name.
The secondary account will not get 'Push' email, but will check the server periodically; and only the primary account can use Photo Stream and Find My iPhone/Mac/iPad.

  • Use one account for apps and other for itunes match

    Hello everybody
My question today is quite simple. I use one account for apps and tv shows, but inwant to use a different itunes account for purchasing itunes match. How can I use them both on my devices? Will it be asking for my user-pass each time i play a song? What other thing should i consider?
    Thank you in advance

I would strongly recommend you not do this.  You will regret it.
I have played with this issue a lot.  You have to remain signed into match in order for it to show up on your phone. If you sign out to purchase an app or redownload one from your appstore id you use then match will be removed from your phone and when you go into your music app the icloud will not be there.  You then have to go sign back out of the store id you used for your app purchase and then sign back into match and everything will have to go though the download to your device process again.  This really is not what you want to do.
Sign up to match with the apple id that you know you will use the most or has the most purchased items and use that for all purchases, i.e. books, apps, movies, and music.  You don't want to go though the other process.
Plus apple will start not letting you sign into match because you signed out and back in, in to short a period of time.
all store purchases on an iphone are linked to the store id.  if you sign out of your match id on the appstore and sign into another account to purchase an app then itunes match will sign out in the music app.  You can't have two store id's signed into your iphone at the same time.  They are all linked together.

  • Can't download music - seems to be an iTunes Match problem

I have iTunes Match activated, which is working fine on my iPad and iPhone.  However I cannot download purchased music onto the iMac.
In my household there is a shared iMac and each user has a different login & password.  Only I know my login password.  I have been using iTunes successfully on it for years, and have been using iTunes successfully for about 6 months now.  Auto-download has been disabled for several months now because I don't want everything downloaded automatically.  All has been fine until about a fortnight ago when the iMac stopped downloading newly purchased music whenever I clicked the little iCloud icon.  This is for music that I have successfully purchased and downloaded on my iPhone whilst at work, and now want to listen to at home.  Whenever I click the iCloud icon to download the new song I get an error message telling me that the computer is already associated with an Apple ID, and I have to wait 54 days etc to sign in with a new Apple ID.  However I'm certain no other Apple ID has been used with my account - when I go to the Store menu it is showing my current and correct Apple ID.
The most telling proof that my Apple ID is correct on both iMac and iPhone (and iPad as well) is that when I plug the iPhone into the iMac, the new music syncs across EXACTLY as it should - and it can then be played without problems.  Both the phone and the computer are correctly logged in to the same Apple ID, which is the same Apple ID that I use for iTunes Match.  Also when I click Store -> Update iTunes Match there appears to be no Apple ID conflict.
Obviously this is an iTunes Match problem which I cannot resolve, can someone please provide assistance / advice.

In short you need to contact iTunes Store support.

  • HT4759 I'd bought cloud and I am looking to see how it works and still don't know. So can somebody tell me how it works, and why does money keep disappearing from my account. I didn't used iTunes match, and and copied everything I had in iTunes and am now

    1) How do I use Cloud?  I mistakingly use itune match and made copy of all I already had in tunes! 2) how do I get rid of all the copys?  3)how do I get the money that keeps disappars from my account?

I got into a similar situation last night trying to enable wireless on my already configured wired my Time Capsule. It was getting the same or very similar 169.xxx IP address for itself.
I found that I had to change ( I suspect it was restore my previous setting ) the Configure IPv4 item under the Internet Tab in manual setup of the Airport Utility.
It appeared a "manually" and I changed it (back?) to "Using DHCP".
That combined with Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode) lets the upstream router that connects directly to my Cable modem be the DHCP server for the entire network.
As everything had worked fine for weeks until I enabled wireless it seems that the Configure Ipv4 parameter was reset either by me mistakenly or by the updating o f the changed settings. Frankly I' quite sure I didn't change it accidentally (famous last words)
Other combinations may aslo work, but this works for me.

  • ITunes match problems already tried everything i could find

I didnt know there was an itunes match forum also so i am reposting my post here:
I was just on the.phone with apple support the last two hours but they could not help me so I was hoping I might be finding help here.
We got a new iPhone (5s) and two iPod touch ( 5 refurbished) and wanted them to be set up with iTunes Match. What happened Is when I access the music app on any of those 3 devices only a small fraction of music (244 instead of over 5000) show up. To add insult to the injury when I click on them they won't play! They also won't download. Interestingly the songs are the exact same ones on the three devices
We also have two iPads and a MacBook Pro which all are working fine.
I tried everything I could find and what apple suggested but nothing worked ( e.g. Turning on and off iTunes Match, restarting, resetting/ whipping the device)
It's just wired that the thee new devices show the same music and the old ones show the full library. I even signed out off my account on my old ipad and when I signed in everything was accessible.
    Thank you for any help!

everytime I try to open it, all my computer does is pretend like it's loading but then does nothing.
Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

  • ITunes Match, problems to sincronize the Genius Mixes with my iPad and iPhone

It's pretty simple, meanwhile in iTunes of my Macbook Air (with iTunes Match activated) I can have the genius mixes that I wish, but in the music of my iPad and iPhone (with iTunes Match activated too), only I've got 4 mixes; I do not why and I've really tried everything, I mean, activate, deactivate, synchronize manually, etc. In spite of all I didn't get the genius mixes in my devices. ¿What is it the weirder? It's in the beginning all worked wonderful, I mean, when I activated for first time iTunes Match everything was OK, there wasn't any problem if I sincronized, but suddenly, one day stoped to make its work, ¿Can anybody help me? I really I'd appreciate it. I've more than two thousand songs and the genius mixes are very easy to listen music. thank you.

Ok, I see. Keep in mind that the Genius mixes in iTunes will not be exactly the same as the Genius mixes on your iOS devices. I don't know why this is, but I suspect it is because they are locally generated. So you simply may not get more than 4 mixes on your devices.
I think, though, the best trouble shooting step is to disable iTM on the devices, launch the Music app and let the content clear out, then re-enable the service on the devices. See if that gives you any better results.

  • Multiple iTunes Match problems

    Hello,
I just purchased iTunes Match a few days ago and am having several problems.  First, I'm running a late 08 Macbook Pro with up to date Lion, an iPhone and an iPad 2.  I just bought the iPad and got a 16gb thinking that iTunes Match would create extra memory since all of my music wouldn't have to be on it.  Now on to the iTunes Match issues.
    1.  Several songs will not match.
-I have tried converting many of them to mp3 128kb since they were 160kb originally.  I have an (gasp) android device too and need them to be mp3 and not aac.  This worked on one song last night and I decided to try multiple.  Didn't work, now many of them have the cloud with the x through it or the cloud with the slash through it.
-I have tried renaming the "album artist" as suggested in these forums but with no sucess.
    2.  On both the iPad and iPhone there are greyed out songs.  I can't play these songs and can't download them.
              -  These are the same songs as in #1
              -  These are also every song downloaded by iCloud.  I'm a musician have have several original songs but I can't get them onto my iOS devices.
    3.  iTunes Match is stuck on the second step with two songs left.
              - I have tried closing iTunes and quiting then reopening several times with the same result.
    I have also updated everything.
Thanks for any help you can provide,
    Matt

Firstly, turn off iTunes Match on your iDevice until the inital scan, match and upload process is complete. Enabling the service on an iDevice before the intial process is complete can cause the types of behavior you're seeing.
If you have not already done so turn on the iTunes Status column in the iTunes browser by pulling down View > View Options, selecting "icloud status" and clicking OK. Sort on this column, find all the files that are "waiting" or have an error and remove them from your iTunes library and from the cloud (but not from the HDD). You might want to cp\opy them into a special folder on the desktop first.
Next, re-enable iTunes Match and let it run through the scan. Then start adding the trouble files back to your library a few at a time and let iTM process them.
If you still wind up with errors you can right-click (or Control+click) on the tracks and choose add to iCloud.

  • ITunes Match problems with new PC

I have around 25,000 songs that were mostly matched, some uploaded, when I first signed up for iCloud on my previous laptop (64 bit Windows 7 Pro). My iTunes library resided on an external USB drive and iCloud/iTunes Match was mostly working, though I still had some problems with duplicate songs that I had hoped iTunes Match would be smart enough to help me eliminate (it's not). Duplicates came mostly from several earlier attempts to move and clean up my iTunes library, but that's another story...
Anyway, I got a new laptop (previous one died, hard disk failed), on which I installed iTunes, which I set up with the same external hard drive holding the iTunes library. So the music files were the same. Had to import all the songs from the hard drive which was set up to hold my iTunes Library. The trouble is, iTunes Match apparently thinks I am trying to add 25,000 more songs, when in fact they are the same songs as before. How can I tell it this? When I run iTunes match it says I already have the maximum 25,000 songs, and all the songs in iTunes show up as an error. I can't delete them from iCloud because I can't see them in iTunes! The other laptop is gone. There is apparently no independent way to access iCloud-based music except through iTunes.
I just realized that this is probably the problem: since the previous laptop hard drive died, whatever secret info Apple stores to identify it as authorized for my iTunes account was lost, and I had no chance to deauthorize it. So it thinks I am trying to match a new set of 25,000 songs (though these are almost all the same songs as before, so I would think iTunes Match could figure this out, but I guess not). I decided to deauthorize all 5 PC's on my account - but I can't do this until March 13, 2013, because I apparently did this last March, no doubt to solve another iTunes problem (seems to happen at least once a year that something in iTunes gets screwed up).
I sent Apple a request to deauthorize the dead PC (or all of them if they will), but does anyone have any alternate suggestions? I would like to be able to remove non-needed and/or duplicate songs from iCloud, and apparently the only way to do this is to delete them from iTunes (locally), in which case you are supposed to get a prompt to remove from iCloud or not. But all my songs are flagged as "error" in the iCloud status column, so I have no way to see or modify what's out there, since the associated PC is dead.
I also have most of these ~25K songs on Google Music and in Amazon Cloud. So I'm considering just dumping iCloud and using iTunes locally only (though I'm afraid if I do that it will delete all my local iTunes songs - guess I would have to reinstall from a backup in that case). When iTunes Match works, it's very nice and automatic and convenient since I listen to music on iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad (yes, I drank Steve's Kool-ade). But as with many things Apple, when it DOESN'T work, it makes you want to slit your wrists. LOL (not).
    Thanks,for any advice.
    -Bruce

Thanks bmw249. I have good news and bad news. Good news: Apple very quickly deauthorized my computers so I was able to drop the lost computer that was taking up a slot and (I suspected) confusing iTunes Match.
The bad news is that this didn't make any difference. Nearly all the songs in my iTunes library have an iCloud status of "error" and when I turn on iTunes Match, it churns for a while before telling me that I already have 25,000 songs in the cloud and can't add any more. What I expected is for it to recognize that most of the 25K songs are the very same ones sitting in this local iTunes library. It should be substantially fewer than 25K because I also deleted 1000+ classical music pieces that I have sitting in Amazon Cloud, in hopes of freeing up space for my recently purchased and created music to be uploaded to iCloud. But no dice.
I am now downloading ~800 songs that iTunes thinks I have only on iCloud. I then plan to figure out how to deactivate iCloud and iTunes Match on this PC so that nothing will be deleted locally when I cancel my iCloud account (it runs out in March 2013 but I assume I can cancel and deactivate the account sooner). The "convenience" of this service isn't worth the many dozens of hours of hours I have spent trying to get it to work the way Apple says it works. Amazon Cloud (also costing ~$25 a year) has a limit of something like 20 GB and no specific limit on number of songs. I buy most music there anyway and have already uploaded most of the rest, so this makes the most sense. I really like the way iTunes Match can (in theory) keep all my music sync'd and smoothly stream to my iPhone even over 3G. Amazon Cloud takes a bit more effort but does much the same thing.
Thanks for listening. I'm assuming this is a "moderated" forum and that this post will soon be removed for my Amazon comments.

  • ITunes Match problem with accessing all my songs on all my IOS devises

Why are some of my iTunes purchased songs not able to be synced with iTunes match? I can access the songs on my iMac but not on my iPhone. I'm not happy about this and I'm thinking I made a terrible mistake buying iTunes Match

Cause you data got corrupted during either upload, matching process or download. Most likely first two, since you already tried to download to ipad as well.  Decision to use or not use match is up to you.
    Good bye.

  • ITunes Match problem with Mastered for iTunes tracks

My question is, has anyone solved the problem I'm describing here?
My wife bought an album (David Bowie, The Next Day, it's great), as a Mastered for iTunes album, under her Apple ID. I copied the album to my computer using Home Sharing. My computer is authorized with both of our Apple IDs.
I have iTunes Match activated on my Apple ID. This album uploaded - didn't match - to iTunes. I assume that this is because Apple is trying to keep people from getting the Mastered for iTunes version of things and refuses to match that version if it's not already associated with the Apple ID. This seems silly, but so be it.
Now I try to listen on an iOS device and see more strange behavior:
    - The uploaded tracks stream fine, but
    - They will not download. No matter what network I'm on, no matter the time of day, there's always an error in downloading them.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has any insight into what's going on; how to get around it; or just if you've seen the same.

    Scott Shuchart wrote:
So I infer that - to keep the "no free upgrades to Mastered for iTunes" policy with the technical limitation that iTunes cannot perfectly match to the same master - it has a policy not to match to Mastered for iTunes unless the track was purchased with the right Apple ID. This seems like a silly but obvious solution to those two constraints. No?
No, there is no such policy. I know this because I was recently able to get Eric Clapton's new album Old Sock matched to the Mastered for iTunes version. All the downloaded tracks have the logo on them. Same goes for the matched AC/DC tracks I have downoaded. All are Mastered for iTunes. These are my rips from CD which were matched.
This is completely different from if someone has an album that was previously bought from the iTunes Store, such as Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which then gets re-released in a remastered version (Mastered for ITunes). Of course we don't get a free upgrade to that version. We have to buy it if we want it. It is just as if you bought the album on CD, then a remastered version is released. You have to buy the CD again.
As you are talking about an iTunes Store purchase, of course you can't re-rip it, since it was never ripped from CD in the first place. But you might want to read the iTS TOS which can be read here: http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html
But, to get back to the original question, this does seem to be an issue with this particular album for whatever reason.

  • IPhone iTunes match problem, songs displaying incorrectly or not displaying at all

I have an iPhone 4, and recently subscribed to iTunes Match.  The list of artists/songs/albums, etc. does not show my content correctly. Some songs aren't displayed even though they have been downloaded, and the alphabetical display is making no sense.
    I have posted a screenshot:  http://junklogic.com/transfer/photo.PNG
Despite the categories being alphabetical, you can see that artists under "U" are being displayed under "W" and "X".
I also downloaded some songs via the iTunes Purchased Music feature, and they downloaded, but are not displaying. Most recent purchases are not displaying.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on?
    Thanks.

I thought my email from Apple would amuse, in it they imply I was unable to make it work. Not them. Note no apology whatsoever - it would imply guilt.
They also threatened me with an effective year long ban if I get my money back. Here's the email:
    Hello David,
I understand that you haven't been able to get Match working, so you'd like to see about receiving a refund. I can imagine you must be eager to get this sorted out. Edna wanted to make sure this gets resolved, so your case was escalated to me. My name is Adam and I'm an iTunes store senior advisor.
Please keep in mind that if you cancel your iTunes Match subscription, you will no longer have access the Match features. In addition, if you receive a refund, you will not be able to subscribe to iTunes Match again until a year from the refund date.
If you would still like to cancel, just reply to this email with the billing address and the last four digits of the credit card on the account. Upon receiving your response, Apple will verify your information, cancel your iTunes Match subscription and issue you a full refund. You will receive an email confirmation in regards to any refund.
I'm looking forward to your reply and the chance to get this taken care of for you. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.
    Sincerely,

  • Is anybody out there have iTunes Match problems? Such as: trades your music that you did not purchase from iTunes into edited versions of a song.

This is very annoying and utterly frustrating

At the moment, you have two options as far as I know.
    1. Just live with the issue until Apple resolve it.
    2. Turn off iTunes Match. You can just turn it off on specific devices and sync in the old way via USB.
I'm afraid that is it really.

  • Multiple Apple TVs and iTunes Match problem

I have three Apple TVs and have iTunes Match - my full library of music only shows on one Apple TV - on the other two Apple TVs it displays only recently purchased songs from iTunes - any ideas

Maybe I should be more specific...
We have three atv's. The kids want to play their own iTunes Match playlists on one of the atvs with their apple id and we would like our own iTunes Match playlists on the other atvs. But when we change the apple id on one atv, it changes the id on the other two so that they are all synced. Is there a way to have mutliple atvs with different iTunes Match apple ids active at the same time on the same network?
I would prefer not to use home sharing to avoid having two iTunes apps open.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
