Accounts on ipod touch

My sister got my niece an Ipod touch for christmas and she set it up with her email and password. But then just yesterday she set up my niece with an email account and set up her itunes to her email account. But now both my niece and my sister are getting each others text. How do I take my sister off my niece's ipod account.

Add me to the list of people with iPod Touch mail problems. My problem is not so much with the incoming mail; it comes in fine, but no matter what i do or how I fiddle with the settings, I can't get outgoing mail to go.
Still looking for a solution.

On the iOS array of devices, you need to make sure all of the settings are right. I have found an official Verizon webpage for setting it up on Apple devices right here:

  • Delete email account on iPod touch

How do I delete an email account on my iPod touch? The email account is with my ISP.
Thanks in advance for your help and support
    Leigh

From Chapter 18 of the iPod Touch Users Guide:
Delete an account from iPod touch: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” choose an account, then scroll down and tap Delete Account.
Deleting an account means you can no longer access the account with your iPod touch. All email and the contacts, calendar, and bookmark information synced with the account are removed from iPod touch. However, deleting an account doesn’t remove the account or its associated information from your computer.

  • One iTunes account - two iPod Touch...

    Here's my problem:
My sons have an iPod Touch each. Occasionally I let them buy apps for their iPods from the Appstore, using my iTunes account. So they each have different apps on their iPods. Now every time I connect one of their iPods to my Mac to update the iPod OS or add pics or music, it also syncs all the apps. This means both of them get all the apps the other one has bought or downloaded. This fills up their iPods and there is no more free space on their iPods. When I unselect the Sync Apps in iTunes it warns me that all existing apps on the connected iPod will be removed.
What can I do??? I basically want iTunes to stop syncing apps, but I don't want my sons to loose all the apps they have on their iPods. Anyone, please?

Each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes that the user controls. The same apps can be installed on both devices or different apps on each device, which is selected under the Apps tab for each device.
First disable automatic syncing when each iPod is connected. Under the Apps tab for the first device, deselect automatically sync new apps. Deselect the apps that you don't want installed on the device. Select Apply followed by a sync.
    Repeat for the 2nd device.

  • Can you have multiple accounts on ipod touch

My daughter has an Ipod touch and I have my itunes account on it.  Is there a way we can have 2 itune accounts linked to the same Ipod touch?

Yes. Just note the 90-day time period mspecifed her for using some iCloud features.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    Also note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • Can't select "bank card" type when applying account on iPod Touch's APP store.

First It's iPod Touch 2nd Generation Version 4.2.1
At the very biginning, I used iTunes store on iPod to apply for new account,
but it didn't let me select which card I 'm using (aka Vise, Mastercard...) on touch screen, so I searched online for solutions and found it on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534
I thought I could solve the problem by instead applying on APP store and choosing "None" of the bank listed like the page instructed me to. But regrettably, it didn't let me interact with that bank selecting part again, though on the guide page sample pictures show it can be done. On my iPod that part just wouldn't react unlike what was shown on guide page.
BTW, my iPod Touch is 2nd Generation and its IOS Simplified-Chinese version (I wonder if the problem lies between either 2 of the cases), Does anyone know what's the issue here?

    See:
IOS 6 App store crash: Apple Support Communities
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT4314 Problem with Game Centre accounts on iPod touch

I have one Apple ID, and I have two sons who each have an iPod touch, each creating separate Game Centre 'accounts' using my ID.  It worked OK at first, but now we can only access the new account.  Is there a way I can correct this to the way it was so that both sons can access their separate accounts?

Apple might have disabled this possiblity, so you might have to create two Apple I.D. accounts instead.

  • Switching iTunes Account on iPod Touch

The iTunes account currently set on my iPod Touch is my fiance's, but I need to switch to my own. The manual says you can sign in to a different account after opening ITunes Wi-Fi, but when I open it, it doesn't give me an option to sign in, nor does it allow me to view any account info. The only options I have are to view iTunes features, top ten, to search, and view downloads. Help? Anyone?

Try changing the account in iTunes and syncing.
I did it once, and I think that's how I did it.

  • ITunes account on iPod Touch

    Hello to all,
I bought an iPod Touch to my 12-year-old daughter.
So far, I've put my iTunes account on it, so that she gets back apps & games.
But the dark side of it is that she cannot use FaceTime or iMessage, because they are "mine".
If I create a account just for her, will she loose all apps already installed on the device ?
Is there another possibility to allow her to use all iPod's functionnalities ?
    Thanks,

You can continue to use the current AppleID just for purchased content.  Then, create a new AppleID for her and use that one just for iMessage, Facetime and iCloud.
Since purchases are tied to the AppleID used, nothing will be change as far as the purchased content on her iPod.

  • Using/Setting up a e-mail Account on iPod Touch

I have been able to setup and use my yahoo email on my iPod Touch but I am trying to do the same with my msn/hotmail email. How do I set this up and how can I obtain the the information from Microsoft for this to work? Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    G

Microsoft chose not to use the industry standard POP or IMAP protocol when developing MSN and Hotmail. So, I'm sorry to tell you that a free Hotmail or MSN account will not work with the iPod. However, if you decide to pay a fee to Microsoft, they will upgrade your account so that you'd be able to use your Hotmail account as POP.

  • Itune account and iPod Touch Autherisation

The iTune in my computer autherised to sync with my iPod Touch & iPad.
I have downloaded Apps for my Ipod Touch & iPad in my iTune account to this autherised computer.
Lately my computer HDD in RAID 0 Stripe having problem in one of the Striped HDD. To cut the long story short, I would need to put in two new HDD in my computer.
Do I first need to go into my iTune account in my failing computer & "De-Autherise" this computer prior to change my HDD so that I will still retain "Rights" to autherise for three other computers for my iPod Touch & iPad?
Do I have to redown load all my bought Apps once the new HDD is installed in my computer? If so That will eat into my monthly download limit with the ISP!!.
Could I avoid this ? This brings to another question If I back up ,How could I selectively reach this download in my computer HD that I could selectively get back to my new HDD that will have the iTune? [I remember last year some one telling as to how to reach the hidden folder in iTune where these downloads are preserved]
    Regards

    Thak you Illaass for that.
Normally a device is allowed to be Autherized in three computers as I understand. Correct me if I am wrong.
Now the computer that I have autherized is to have new HDD [say if I have two other computer also  autherised for these devices + the one I intend changing the HDD = 3 computers].
My question :Would I still able to Autherize my computer for the itune account where I had put in my new HDD?
[My understanding is that when new HDD put in the identity of the computer is changed and the iTume would recognise is as a new computer-Am I correct in my assumption] That is why I wish to learn if I need to Deautherize my computer prior to change the new HDD? [Computer may still bootable I hope!! That another issue]
    Regards
PS: If 5 computers could be Autherized then I should not worry I suppose.[I am wrong in assuming that only 3 are allowed to autherized?!!]

  • Any reason not to set up Hotmail account on ipod touch?

I have just purchased a new iPod Touch. My main mail account is with Apple Mail, and I have a mobileme account. I also have a free Hotmail account? Is there any reason not to set up this Hotmail account on my touch, along with my Mail account - glitches, conflicts, etc. I can live without it if necessary. If no problems, can you point me to a step-by-step instruction guide to set up the Hotmail account? Thanks!

You can use the web ... using Safari - go to www.hotmail.com - this should bring up a mobile version of the login page. Log in to Hotmail to see your mail. If you don't logout of Hotmail, but simply hit the touch Home button you will be able to recheck you mail just by launching Safari and selecting the pages icon (bottom right) and then selecting the Hotmail page. You will see a Refresh option (or you can touch the clockwise pointing arrow in the URL line).

  • Something I discovered when trying to set up my Mobile Me account to ipod touch 2nd gen

I went to set up my mobile me account on my ipod touch 2nd gen and shows the option of Find my iPod. Will the find my iphone work??? I did set up an iCloud because I got an iPhone 4s today.

    Hi jcole,
Just wanted to let you know that I did a little looking around, and the Find My iPhone app that you see under your MobileMe account on your iPod was an app that worked with MobileMe, so it is still there, but it really doesn't do anything anymore. Back in the day, you would have logged on to www.me.com to get to a map which would show your location. Today, if you were to type me.com into the URL bar, you get redirected to iCloud.com....
So, just wanted to give you an update on what it is (I found it interesting - didn't know that the "Find My" capability was there before iCloud).
    Cheers,
