Accounts with "underscore" don't work!!!

Hi guyz,
My Apple Account & email address contain "underscore" ("_") & it seems that I'm not able to log on to them on iPod Touch 2.2.1! It gives me "Wrong ID" error but I have typed my ID right! (I can connect to other accounts which does not contain underscores!)
Is there any solution?!

Are you sure that you are getting an "_" character and not a "-"? You have to go one keyboard further down in the stack to get to that character. Alpha > Numeric > Special Characters (#++ key where the left shift key normally is located).

Is it on mute? There is a switch on the side which may be mute or rotation lock. If it locks the rotation, double tap the home button and swipe your finger to the right. You should see volume, brightness, etc... On the far left is a button to mute or lock rotation. Make sure it is not on. If you still can't hear anything, go to settings> general> sounds> ringer and alerts and slide the dot to the right.

Since last upgrade (tablet under Android), websites with frames don't work.

All apps are up to date. Since last Firefox upgrade, web sites with frames no longer work properly : frames are outside of screen at bottom. Chrome and other browsers work fine... but I prefer Firefox.

I view this page from home web page ([http://www.ville-fondettes.fr/ http://www.ville-fondettes.fr/] ), staying in Firefox app.
This web site isn't very well designed but was working well with previous version of Firefox.
I found other web sites but a private account is needed. I try to find other examples with the same issue.

Creative Live! Cam (VF0400) with Skype (don't work)

Hi Guys,
This is getting pretty desperate... as this is actually my 3rd unusable webcam for my iBook (OS X 10.4.11):(
I checked the macam website and the list said this webcam works but I can't seem to get it to work with Skype. It works with the Macam app but Skype don't recognise it. Anyone with prior experience please help because I can't seem to find any info on the Skype's help dbase.

I once had the same problem as you. Did you do everything the readme file said? Where I'm going to: did you copy the macam.component file to the Quicktime library folder? If not copy it to the /Library/Quicktime/ folder. It should work just fine.

Signing up for account with PayPal -- won't work

I'm trying to sign up for an account with iTunes for the first time and I want to use PayPal to pay for my st00f. I'm in my iTunes store, and "Step 2 of 2" is where it asks for credit card or other payment info-- I click the PayPal icon and it gives me an external link:
"To validate your PayPal account and verify that you'd like it to be used for Music Store purchases, click here."
I click it and get directed to PayPal... I go through a little process confirming that I want to pay for my iTunes with PP, then get this page:

OK... seems all fine and good. At the bottom of that page is a little button that says "Return to Merchant". One would expect that this would send me back to my iTunes store, but instead I get directed to this page in the same window: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Meanwhile, my iTunes is still stuck on the same window, "Step 2 of 2: Review Your Credit Card Information". My only two options on there are "Cancel" and "Go Back". No matter what I do fro mthis point on, if I ever try to sign in from iTunes it tells me that "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Music Store" and starts the whole process over again from the beginning.
I have iTunes version 6.0.4.2 on an HP Compaq nw8240 machine running Windows XP Pro. My PayPal acount is active and up-to-date and has funds available in it. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Well, turns out it wasn't the popup blocker, but it was trying to relaunch the iTunes store from out of my browser window. I have Firefox set to not allow that kinda shenanigans, so of course it wasn't working. Thanks for the heads-up. It's awful when the answer is right in front of your nose and you can't even see it.

BEx Analyzer buttons withing planning don't work

Hello,
I tried to create a little planning application with BEx Analyzer. For this I tried different ways (my last try using: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0a89464-f697-2910-2ba6-9877e3088954) but my problem is that the created buttons don't work.
If I enter a value into the key figure field and press "refresh data" or "save data" in both cases the value is set back to 0 and my entered value doesn't appear anywhere.
I checked the input-ready query by using the Query Designer. Both key figures can be changed by user entry or planning function.
Are there any other things I have to check or change?

but if it would be locked it wouldn't be possible to enter a value - would it? I can add a value into the field but afterwards when using the button it disappears and becomes 0 again.
Here's a more detailed description:
I created a input-ready query on a aggregation level which contains sales man number, calender year/month, customer number and planned turnover.
I opened this query with the BEx Analyzer and executed the steps described in the PDF for which I added the link before in my first post in this thread. I implemented this HowTo until the popup messages.
I did some planning tries before on the planning wizard in the portal . There it was possible to add values (my test data I also created with the planning wizard but without adding a turnover value) and to save them.
There's no other planning function implemented yet. For the first step I just want to have the possibility to enter turnover values manually by using the workbook with the input-ready query. Nothing more.

I have a ATT Uverse (for my internet access) acct and could not log on so I requested for password reset. They sent me temp password and I had to change my password to my Uverse acct. I use my att.net email as the log on for my Uverse acct. Per att instructions above, my Uverse acct is linked to my att.net email, so now my att.net email pw has been changed to the pw for my Uverse acct.
Accordingly, go into your iPhone Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, choose your Att.net mail acct and change your password. In my case I changed it to the new pw I had set up for my Uverse acct and it works.
Before doing this, I had also added new servers as shown below. The way I see it because your iPhone will try in succession to log on to each server from top to bottom of the list, it's best to add all the mail servers.

Please note that I did not have to add "imap.mail.att.net" and my Att.net mail on my iPhone still works.

Any insight as to why multiple Apple Mail IMAP accounts with Blackberry don't get emails? Thunderbird seems to work fine.

I have two instances of Apple mail connected to the same IMAP server; one on my iMac and the other on my MacBook (when I travel). I also have a Blackberry Storm connected to the same IMAP server.
The Blackberry gets emails fine. The Apple Mail clients mostly don't get the same emails. I have disabled the Blackberry and still get the same behavior. Thunderbird or any web-based email client works perfectly well, so it seems the issue is with Apple Mail.
Anyone have any suggestions?

If TCP port 25 isn't open, then SMTP services won't work. That's the port that all SMTP servers use to communicate amongst themselves. (Sure, you can change the port your SMTP server is listening on, but you'd also have to change the port processing on all of the other SMTP servers around — and if you did manage to implement that change everywhere, the local network folks would likely just block the new port for the same reasons they blocked the old port.)
If you have a public static IP address and have correct forward and reverse translations — host domain to IP address, and IP address to host domain name — then you don't need and very likely don't want to run your own DNS server.
More to help you learn how these pieces fit together and not something I'd expect you would need given you have a public static IP and public DNS here is a detailed DNS server configuration article for OS X Server; enable Show All Records and it applies to Server.app on 10.7 and later. If you have questions after reading that, I can certainly answer them and also update the article to try to reduce the confusion or answer the question.
Your host didn't have valid reverse DNS, so you'll want to get that cleared up, and you'll want to get the port blocks cleared, or work with the local network folks to set up a relay through one of the existing mail servers.

E4200 router, wmp600n wireless adapters and mapped drives with wpa2 don't work!

I have a file server running windows 2003 and five computers (1 windows 7, 4 windows xp-sp3).
There are two shares on the server.
When the router is setup with wpa2, three of the windows xp machines will have problems with mapped drives. Directly after the drives are mapped, everything works, but 10 or so hours later, users can no longer access these mapped drives and there is no way to reconnect them it seems.
The other two machines (windows 7 and one windows xp machine) have no problems whatsoever.
The only thing that the three computers have in common is that they are also sharing a printer (an hp j4680) attached to one windows xp machine (not the server).
If I set everything to wpa, everything works fine, but of course my wireless network speeds drop to 56mbps.
Thoughts?

Peanut, I appreciate your effort, but I don't think you truly understand what is going on.
FWIW and for those experiencing similar oddities, On a mixed network of Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows 7 machines, several Windows XP machines would on boot up decide that the router was the master browser. This made file shares on the server inaccessible to these machines. All machines were using wmp600n adapters.
All computers had excellent signal strength and could access the internet without fail.
What was not immediately evident to me was I was also having email issues where certain XP machines could not receive or send (sometimes one, sometimes both) pop email. I suspected it was a port blocking issue by the ISP since this problem was intermittent.
What was clear though is that in each of the machines that exhibited the problem that computer was seeing the browser as the browser master. So finally, I swapped out the router with another branded router. This is not the only case of this router behaving this way--in my searches I have run into several other people who have had issues with file sharing so I don't know if it is a model deficiency or firmware issue.
All I know is the all the problems went away with the router switch. File shares work. Email works.
So, I got a bad router that appeared to function properly--assuming this is not the case with other e4200s. I will know after RMAing this one.

As you can read from that thread, the feature you would like to have is extremely complex, there will be some new capabilites with hierarchies in BI4.1 but I don't think this is among them.

PDF addresses not longer load and display PDF in Firefox and solutions suggest to other users with problem DON'T WORK (work fine in Chrome and Safari)

This is an ongoing problem with other users. When putting a PDF in address window of Firefox and clicking go to address FIREFOX WILL NOT LOAD AND DISPLAY THE PDF. This problem has come up in questions from other users on your site. NONE OF THE SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS WORK! (trying either the Firefox PDF viewer or the Acrobat viewer as default viewer)
I am using Firefox 23.0.1 (as some of the other users with the same problem). This was not a problem in the past with Firefox. Safari and Chrome continue load and display PDFs just fine from their addresses. This is a big problem as I now have to inform people who want to view my PDFs NOT TO USE FIREFOX BUT TO USE SAFARI OR CHROME.

It appears that a link to a PDF on an internet page will not download in Firefox either!

I have a PDF file of my work in the public_html folder on my URL. I give the address generated by that file to people who want to view my work---this works perfectly in Safari and Chrome. As to your other question, can't bookmark it if I can't get to it in Firefox.

Recurring events with scripts don't work

Hi guys,
I have these recurring events in which I set those scripts as the alarm. The first time the event occurs the script launches as anticipated but after any recurrent event will not trigger the script at all.
Is this a known problem with iCal? I have read there were some problems with recurring events in ical...
Also would there be a way to monitor the activity behind the scene to see where it fails? And perhaps a way check if my script is the problem although it always works the first time the event occurs...
