Accpeting invites received on iphone
I have moved my life over to Apple leaving my Blackberry and Microsoft behind, knowing that their would be a few hiccups, and having to use lots of alternative apps/ patches I have had a reasonable experinece.
However, I can't see why now that I use all apple product the following remain an issue
1) why my iphone can't accept/ decline meetings.
2) why when I forward an invite from Entourage and or Outlook I can't see the details of the invite.
3) Synching is no existent, I have mobile me on my Macbook pro and meetings never go into to iCal automatically and or synch to my iphone without me having to connect via cable.
It's a lot of failed basics here and I'm hoping that an Apple rep will respond as there are lots of similar request which have gone unanswered and I hope it doens' mean having to go out to market and pick up some further apps.

Calendar invitations can only be accepted on the iPhone via an MS Exchange account - in that case, they actually show up in the Calendar app. The iPhone's Mail app cannot handle .ics attachments.

Once I accept a calendar invite on my iPhone, I cannot delete or otherwise modify it. Even when it is updated or deleted by the invitor, it does not change on my iPhone.
My husband and I both have iphone 4's and we both have this same problem. I have an open ticket with apple, but so far they haven't been able to figure this out. First, they told me the problem was the mail server I was using. So, I tried sending/receiving invites from gmail and yahoo which they told me should work. Neither did. It doesn't matter whether the original invite was created in iCal or in Outlook or Google, once I open the invite in my mail and hit "add to calendar" the event is locked into my calendar. If the originator sends an update or cancels the meeting, I will receive an email with the new info, but the event doesn't change in my iphone calendar. This is completely lame. Why bother putting a calendar app on the phone if it can't handle basic functions?
Did you ever get a response from anyone or figure out a workaround? I'll post if I hear back from Apple with a fix. -

I received an Iphone 5 as a gift two days ago. The first thing I did was set up ICloud for photos. Itunes would not allow me to add songs to my new phone without restoring it, yet when I did this, it deleted all 129 photos of my graduation and friends from the past two days. And I cannot find them anywhere, photo stream, ICloud, nothing. Where can I get back my memories?
Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

I have an existing Apple ID for my Ipod touch being used via my laptop. I just received an Iphone 4S as a replacement for my Blackberry Curve that broke, that goes through Verizon. Do I set up a separate Apple ID for the phone, and will it work with the same laptop? Can one computer work with two ID's and two different devices?
No need to create a New Apple ID... your Existing one will work fine...

I have an old iphone 3 and for Xmas received an iphone 5. I have 2 apple ID accounts, one on each phone. For me to be able to transfer messages, fotos, contacts etc from the iphone 3 to 5 do I have to be using the same Apple ID account? Many thanks.You should only use one Apple ID for both phones. All apps that you bought for your 3 are linked forever to the Apple ID used to buy them. If you set up your iPhone 5 as a new phone, rather than restoring from a backup of the 3, you will lose the messages, but you can sync to get the pix, contacts and music. It is safer to do it as a new phone, because sometimes restoring a backup from an earlier version of the phone can cause problems in the new phone (as told to me by an Apple store "genius" two days ago.)

I have tried to restore my old iPhone 3, but when i tried the itunes logo and a pic of a USB cable have come up on my phone and now i cant do anything with my phone.Any ideas how i can fix this? Yahoo e-mails are not being received on iphone 4. I had to go website to retrieve about 50 emails from last couple of days. Everything looks correct in settings and I haven't changed anything that I know of. Please help if you've encountered this issue.
I tried the suggestion of deleting the account and starting over from scratch (twice), to no avail.

I received an iPhone 6 in the mail from my previous service provider but I already changed to a different provider and got an iPhone 6 in the meantime because my iPhone 5 stopped working and I was desperate thinking I wouldn't receive the phone in the mail. Should I mail it back or sell it?
You aren't serious are you? Send it back. It is not yours, you do not own it, therefore selling it would constitute selling stolen goods. You would be committing a crime, and you would be screwing whomever you sold it to.

I just received an Iphone 4 and would like to change the wallpaper to a photo I have on my computer. I have windows XP pro. SP3
Resize or crop the photo to 960 pixels by 640 pixels, then email it to yourself. Open the email on your phone, tap the attached photo and choose Save to save it to your camera roll. You can then select the photo from your camera roll to use as your wallpaper (by going to Settings>Wallpapers & Brightness and tapping the wallpaper shown, if using iOS 7). The wallpaper on the left in settings is your lock screen background, the image on the right is your home screen wallpaper.

Calendar invitations accepted on iPhone 6 not showing in iCloud calendar

When I accept mime-attachment.ics calendar invitations on my iPhone 6, the appointment in created in my iPhone calendar, but for some reason doesn't show up in the iCloud calendar (accessed through iCloud.com). I have the latest version iOS8.1.1 on my iPhone 6. This problem has started in the last 3 weeks. I have a similar problem on my iPad. The result is that I can't sync the appointments created by accepting mime-attachment.ics invitations across devices.I'm experiencing the same issue, but I found a workaround until it is fixed. After accepting the invite via an ICS attachment, I change the calendar from Work to Home, then back to Work, and then the appointment appears in iCloud, on my Mac, etc.

Hi.. I received my Iphone today. It has tiny scratches at the corners. ALSO, i cannot hear anything, have to use headphone. Siri works slow and does not speaks!! Anyone with same problems? What can i do now?
What if they say i scratched it by dropping or something (which i obviously dint)? will they still replace it?

When I send Outlook invites to my iPhone (via email) the appointments appear 3 hours earlier? The time setting appears to be EST which is accurate so I can't figure out why the appointments don't appear in real time. Thanks for your help, Ellen
1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

sounds like the SIM wasn't activated. Call your carrier. It's their issue.
