  • GP70 2PE Support for Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)

    Hi everyone,
    I'm about to buy one of the following notebooks;
    - GP70 2PE-257NL Leopard
    - GP70 2PE-022NL
    - GP70 2PE-085NL Leopard
Can anyone clarify if Intel VT-d is supported in the bios? Both the cpu and chipset do support it atleast.
    Thanks!

I don't think MSI bios have that option open, You probably would have to PM Svet and ask if he can mod a Bios for you.

  • The Crew –Racing with Your Coolest MSI Gaming Motherboard and Graphics Card

Most gaming fans are crazy about racing games, and there is a new game title just launched to fulfill gamers’ dream. We want to share with you the experience from Taiwan user who assembles a rig with a brand new MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card, along with a hardware and game (The Crew) benchmarks. The Crew - Launch Trailer
    PC configuration:
    CPU: Intel i5-4670K
    RAM: Avexir DDR3-1600 8G*2
    VGA: MSI GTX960 GAMING 2G
SSD: Kingston HyberX 3K SSD 240G
    CPU Cooler: SilverStone AR01

Overview of the motherboard: Black and Red color scheme, it’s also the favorite color combination from MSI’s user reservation.
The PCI-E slots and bandwidth are enough for a two-way SLI setting.
Killer Ethernet, outstanding performance on internet access, especially reduce the lag issue.

    New cooling design: ZeroFrozr

With MSI Gaming series motherboard plus graphics card, you can enable a Gaming App to overclock CPU and GPU. There are 3 modes to choose.
6-month free trail of the XSplit game caster software, free bundled with MSI gaming motherboard and graphics card
Done with assembling, quiet nice color combination and clean cable arrangement.
An overview of the very gaming look system.
Some benchmark results before racing with The Crew.
CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
The comments of the game for your reference:
There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
(The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

  • Advancing Gaming Giants-MSI! Me @ 2015 MSI Gaming Computex Press Conference~

Working in an exhibition design company, I had the chance to witness the MSI 2015 Gaming Computex Press Conference. Though I play on-line game occasionally, I kinda like the Gaming products of MSI. One of my classmates gave me a MSI Gaming mouse with LED indicators, it’s gorgeous and handy!
By curiosity, I Googled MSI before the conference. Found out that MSI focused on Gaming Notebooks and high level mobo and graphics for decades, now it is sort of an international gaming leading brand. Its gaming products are definitely dream gears for professional eSport gamers. Seems this company is really something.
After I got the job done, boss allowed me to watch this conference. Stepped into the hall, I saw the giant size dragon mascot. And there was a photo sticker machine and a claw vending machine; everyone couldn’t refuse to stop steps to the entertainments.
In the conference hall, there were demo sections of MSI gaming series products. Variety of high level notebook, mobo, graphics, AIO, desktop, and etc. are all here for the participants to try out. More and more participants came and got to know the latest products of MSI.
The seats were taken very soon by the presses, vendors, and employees. I located myself at an inconspicuous corner to observe the event. In a while, the lights dimmed, and the conference started officially.
The main stage was designed in red, black and white colors, the 3 elements of MSI Gaming, and decorated with the MSI Gaming Dragon shield. Several pretty models went up to the stage one after the other to show the latest products to the crowd.
One more highlight of the conference was MSI senior managers and professional speakers to present the new products and new technologies. After that, several important IT companies introduced their cooperation with MSI. By this way, MSI products look really taking comprehensive advantages.
Everyone was focus on listening to the introductions. I was also very touched, and admired MSI branding much more.
At the end of the conference, MSI announced hot news. The MSI BeatIT gaming tournament which MSI held for 5 continuously years is renamed to MSI MGA (Masters Gaming Arena) global gaming tournament. In cooperation with world leading gaming company, ESL. The regional qualifiers start in June, and the global final will be held in August in Seattle, USA. Holly…! This is really a big enterprise; hold the global event out of the ordinary.
The whole conference showed the determination and effort of MSI on Gaming products and the industry. Really impressive.
At last, here’s one picture of the MSI products and the long leg models to thank you for reading this article.

  • MSI GP70 2PE Bluetooth Problem

Hi, i own a MSI GP70 2PE Lepoard and i'm experiencing problems with the bluetooth function.
it's not listed under PC and Devices, nor do i get a bluetooth icon down on the taskbar. Bluetooth is turned on via SCM.
    Any help is appreciated

Try to update the latest SCM of your GP70 2PE and do the EC reset by removing the battery and the AC adapter.
If you can't enable the Bluetooth in SCM control panel, share the information of your WLAN adapter.
Which WLAN adapter you have and the Bluetooth driver version you have?
Also tell the OS and SCM version.
Does the WLAN function have the same problem as well?

  • Msi gp70 2pe leopard

i wanted to play dayz standalone on my laptop (gp70 2pe leopard) and i thougt it could do it easily.
But when i play dayz the framerates are very low even on very low graphics setting etc.
Any suggestions on this ? because i think it should be able to run it just fine.

Is your power light in orange while you are play DAYZ? Or it's blue?
If it's blue, that means your GP70 2PE only runs on internal (Intel) graphic chip and may not be fast enough.
To enforce your game running on external (NVIDIA) graphic chip, right-click your desktop and go to "NVIDIA Control Panel" -> "Manage 3D settings" -> select "Program Settings" and manually browse the execution file of the game DAYZ into customized list and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" as your preferred graphic processor.

  • MSI Gaming 9 AC - XP941 HELP !!?

    Hi
I have bought the MSI Gaming 9 AC and the Samsung XP941, at first the bios couldn't recognise the XP941 then MSI´s support team sent me a beta bios and then I could see the XP941 so I installed Win 8.1 by usb key which Ramcity says is the only way to go, but after copying all the files and rebooting and starting Windows for the first time, it comes up with - No boot device found :-(
I tried to write the support again but there is Chinese holidays for a week now :-(
    Please help me out... ??

Quote from: ssateneth on 04-October-14, 10:08:06
vmanuel, I also have a 3000MHz RAM set. It just comes down to CPU and mobo quality. In my experience, 1 stick @ 3000MHz worked, as did 2 and 3. Once you try to operate all 4 sticks at 3000MHz though, its too hard for the part responsible to drive that speeds.
It's my understanding that a higher system agent voltage can help achieve higher RAM speeds, but without a system agent voltage sensor (I don't have one on my xpower x99 board. Likely the same on the gaming series), I have no baseline to bump up from, nor do I know if the voltage is actually applied.
It's the same for ring voltage, which would affect the uncore speed (or l3 cache. Also increases RAM write speeds significantly). Since there is no sensor for it, I have no idea what baseline voltage there is, or if voltage is actually applied, so I am unsure why the ring is maxxed @ 3.6GHz when other users are reporting being able to run higher speeds, sometimes 1:1 when in excess of 4GHz core speeds.
Sorry for the hijack, but found the RAM bit releveant to my experience.
Nice reply, I almost totally agree. I think the most of cpus can drive 3000 memory modules with 4 stick, but bioses have to improve.
I have tried Asus Rampage V, Giga X99 Gaming G1 and this MSI Gaming 9.
Asus RVE is able to drive 3000 (even now with strap 1, since last bioses), but performance is not according to speeds sometimes. You can monitor all voltages.
Giga G1 is not able to drive even 2666 stable. You can´t reach over +0.400 in system agent, while MSI can reach 0.99. In fact, in MSI board, if you let auto the system agent with 2666, readings are +0.500. For the cpu ring or cache, I have +0.175 working like a charm.
So the MSI is able to drive 2666, helped by memory tryit profiles (hynix 2666 CL14). I guess next bioses will have 3000 profile, and probably system agent will go up to 0.7 or so... Would be nice, MSI, to check exact voltages in system agent and ring or cache through bios or soft...

    Great
Regarding RAM: it is quite hard to get RAM up to 3000MHz even if it's rated as 3000MHz. The thing is: you should focus on CPU OC rather than RAM which overall doesn't give that much performance boost as OC'ed CPU  Also as far as I know, 2133MHz is the guaranteed max RAM speed by Intel (read spec of your CPU whatever it is)
Why you always so conservative??? You remind me Louis Van Gaal football trainer when he was at FC Barcelona... He once said to press: "you always negative, never positive..."
If I ask for bios flashing, reply will be "no flashing if not strictly needed"...
If I ask about problems with 3000 memory speed, reply will be "speeds over 2133 are not guaranteed; memory speed not important"...
So, in case of memory, now I have bought 3000, Should I run them at 2133, when G.skill has tested the modules in several mobos, reaching that speed???
PD: when talking about memory, there is no bricking danger, like bios flashing...

  • Z77 GAMING SERIES

Hi. I Have been, well nearly, grazing around the MSI site and have Obviously noticed the z77 express chipset Gaming series motherboards, i have seen the specification but still, i have not found anywhere to purchase these boards.
Can one buy them? Is it even for sale yet? Have i missed something? or is it just one of those exclusive things where you have to join, become part of it, get a job with it, and then they give it to you, or give you the chance to buy it?
Thankyou if you can answere this as i am nearing the time when i make my final decision as to what my custom PC is going to have inside it.

Again thankyou very much for all of your help

  • MSI Gaming Center won't start

Hi! I had to reformat my notebook early because a virus was bothering my notebook's performance. After I reformatted it, I think everything seemed to work fine except my MSI Gaming Center. When I click it, nothing happens even if I click the buttons for it on the keyboard.
Is this the only thing that happens when reformatting a notebook because I might have missed something since I reformatted it when my laptop is more than a week old?
I was looking for an answer here in the forums before over google but it seemed to be removed when I click it. Any links or solutions here?

LOL. I don't know about "melting", but my demo GE60 with GTX 850M did get pretty hot at the time when I did the video. Same thing with most of the laptops I tested as well as my own personal computer, but that's because it's both CPU and GPU intensive.
(Added: I played Watch_Dogs on our demo GE60. After 20 minutes of gameplay, temps for GPU were 85-90 degrees Celsius and CPU was 70-75 degrees Celsius. So....yeah.....temps are the usual)

AMD Vice President endorses MSI GX series GAMING Notebooks, which perform AMD's gaming features, such as Eyefinity and TressFX, in the best way. The video was shot in MSI's Gaming Room in MSI Headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. You can also see how MSI Gaming room looks.

Well, it worth the budget with the performance, gameplay wise is still acceptable, but MSI is the only manufacturer that can unleash the potential of AMD mobile gaming series, which is quite good. I own the GX70 3BE Crysis 3 Edition, and hopefully I can buy the graphic card and upgrade my GX70 to Destroyer.
