Accumulated Costs for an Asset
Hi,
I'm trying to create a report external of SAP using base tables like ANLP, ANLA, etc. that allows Finance to drill down into Actual Costs for aquiring an Asset by Fiscal Period.
So far, I have found some of this information by searching through Purchase Order History (table EKBE) and looking at both Assets that are depreciating as well as Assets that were acquired while they were under construction and subsequently transferred to the correct Asset Class.
One of the accountants told me that expenses are transferred to the Asset register via Transaction code ABZON. Anyone know what SAP table I have to search through to get those postings? I already have the GL Accounts which should have been used.
Also, if anybody has suggestions on what other tables I should search for more Actual Costs, please reply to this thread.

How do we calculate the Accumulated Depreciation for a particular asset. It would be great if some body can explain me ,what tables should we use.
I read that Accumulated Depreciation is nothing but deprn_reserve column in fa_deprn_summary table. I have to make a report which should show the accumulated depreciation for an asset by period name. (eg : For MAY-07 the report should give the accumulated depreciation for that asset).
Please give your suggestions.

You can use DEPRN_RESERVE from fa_deprn_summary to get accumulated deprn. Make sure you select the latest row from fa_deprn_summary for a particular period.
Use FA_DEPRN_PERIODS to join with period_counter if you wnat to use Period Name as criteria.

No accounting document created for distributed cost center and asset
Hi experts,
Why there is no accounting document created during GR for distibuted cost center and asset?
ThanksSorry guys, there's nothing to do with the config of the account assignment. The postings are ok for single cost center or single asset. SAP system message (info messsage) " Goods receipt for distributed cost center will be non valuated" are given when you are trying to unticked the GR non valuated.
If someone could explain what is the logic behind that behavior.

Internal order is functionality from CO. U can use it for the purpose of collating all the cost. U can also do cost planning in internal orders. This helps u to analyse bet planned & actual cost.
Create IO thru KO01. Once created use it in ur transactions. In your case u can use it in posting any document to AUC.
Also as I mentioned in my previous post that IO can posted with real values and statis tical values. If you want to post statistical vales only then check the box statis tical order in control data.
Whenever passing an entry put ur IO number in "order" field.

If you can query Fixed Assets Master directly, yon could create UDF just like other UDF under Marketing Documents Title. A FMS then can be used to get the data from the related table.

SRM 7.0 - Can't Create a shopping cart for an Asset
Hi,
I am trying to create a SC with account assignment Asset in SRM 7.0, extended classic.
Once I change the Account Assignment Category to Asset and I search for the asset number I receive the following message.
Missing Authorization check to display master data.
The user ID has SAPALL, also communication between R3 4.7 and SRM is working fine for vendors, PO's, Confirmations, Invoices, material groups, etc....so the system users would appear to be working ok I assume.
Also, if I click the Create Asset Master button on the detailed account assignment screen it is not able to generate/retrieve an asset number as it should.
Any ideas? The account assignment configuration should be fine, it matches our production SRM 3.0 system, which has no issue with this functionality.

MattIt seems that the table does not have the entries, maybe b/c we are on R3 4.7. Could you tell me what the entries are suppossed to be to allow the Asset and Cost Center lookup? The search does work for WBS element though and I don't see anything specific to WBS element in that table. In any case if you know the entries that would be great, also this table is not modifiable via SM30, here are the entries that I have in that table.

How to create crystal report for fixed assets

I am beginner to SAP B1. I have to create crystal report on fixed assets. for the following fields I have to get data.

Actually they are not going to standard reports as Revaluation amount we are creating User defined fields and that needs to be fetched to the report. As well they want original cost, depreciation original cost, Revaluation amount and depreciation on revaluation separately..
As per my understand system will provide one cost and the depreciation on that.
So, can somebody help me in guiding me..

Issue on migration of tax depreciation balances for group assets
Dear Experts,
My client is using group assets for tax depreciation report India.
The SAP implementation was done in 2006 during the data migration the
client was not clear of the values both individual asset wise and
group asset wise to migrate to tax depreciation area. So the tax
depreciation for some of the assets are migrated with some
(non caluclated) value.
Now the client want to see the tax depreciation group asset wise or if
possible individual asset wise.For this the group asset need to be
created and assigned to each individual asset in the asset master
record.
The fiscal year variant is v3, april to march with 4 quaters June,
Sep, Dec, Mar.
Now when the data migration for the current year come into picture
I can use AS81/AS82 for loading current year opening balance and
accumulated depreciation for all the group of assets as a whole. Or
I can use AS91/AS92 to load balances into tax depreciation of
each asset individually. But I am not sure whether this is correct.
And also what to do with the previous years balances. I am very
confused. Somebody suggest good solution.
When I create a legacy asset or group asset in AS91 and AS81
respectively the fields in the Takeover values screen are grayed
out and do not allow mw to input values. But I am able to enter
values by clicking the button Transactions in the Takeover values
screen and able to enter a value date , transacton type and amount
for tax depreciation area. Here again I am not convinced using 100
transaction type for current year opening balance. I used
transaction type 652(Unplanned tax depreciation on current year
acquisition) for accumulated current year dpereciation upto second
quarter septemeber 2008.
In asset explorer under "Planned values" tab the opening balance
must be visible under Fiscal year start column but it is displayed
under change column as I entered values for tax depreciation area
in AS81 in Transaction screen with asset value date as 01.04.2008
transaction type 100 and amount as xxxxxx and value date 30.09.2008
652 xxxxxxxx.
Need expert guidance on this

Calculate Depreciation Forecast for Fixed asset
Dear all expert,
I'm new to ASO, would like to know if there's a way to do depreciation forcast for fixed asset in Essbase.
1. Database type is ASO
2. Assuming user will prepare forecast caplitialization of fixed asset then upload to Essbase
3. Attribute dimension "Useful life" has been defined and attached to specific "Accounts" dimension for calcluation
4. Need to calculate the forecast and spread of depreciation for future months
E.g. Input 32000 USD for a fixed asset cost with 32 months useful life
-> should calculate 1000 each month for the coming 32 months
Can any expert suggest how to do this in ASO? meaning only can do calculation in member formula itself, not calculation script.

BillyI haven't used the feature, but the reference to 'local script_file' in the MaxL railroad diagram for the 'execute calculation' command suggests the location is relative to the client, if the semantics are consistent with the 'export data' command (the options for report scripts there are 'server' or 'local', although according to the railroad diagram there is no non-local alternative in this case!).

The DBAG also says that the script files should have suffix .csc, while the Tech Ref example has suffix .txt - helpful!! If they were actually meant to sit in the server's db directory, I would be surprised to find the .csc suffix used, since that is also the suffix for aggregation scripts. Although me being surprised doesn't mean much. -
Depreciation for transfer asset
Hi Sap Guru,
I use ABUMN to transfer asset A (100%) to asset B.
And the APC value is 617.00 and accumulated depreciation is 37.02.
I use " percentage from useful life (0011) ".
but I find the system use APC amount to calculate the depreciation for the transfer year not including the adjustment value (37.02) ???
And therefore ,the monthly depreciation of asset B is not the same as that of asset A . why ???
Can we make the system calculate the depreciation for B according to APC and adjustment value ?

we find the depreciation amount will recalculate based on the depreciation parameter in new asset .
Therefore , we make all depreciation parameter including depreciation key , useful life, depreciation start date etc in new asset the same as those in old asset.
And then , the depreciation amount will be the same.
You can use path Financial Accounting>Asset Accounting>Transaction>Intercompany Asset Transfers>Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers>Define Transfer Variants>(Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd))
to transfer the depreciaiton parameter to new asset. -
Stop Depreciation for particular assets for a period Temporarly

I Need to Run the depreciation for october, but my requirement is , i dont want depreciation to be calculated for few assets for this period october as these asses were transfered to other cost centers, i need to stop depreciation to be calculated in this depreciation run and run it latter for the same period.
Is there a way to do this.

As per your issue
1. Use shut down tick mark in the respective assets masters in AS02
2. Block respective assets masters for temporary purpose
3. And change the Depreciation keys to 0000
Once run the depreciation for October and replace all the settings.

For 20 assets it won't be useful to write a CATT or LSMW. So, either enter it manually or you could correct directly in the tables (ANLZ), though it's generally not recommended.

You isolate assets where an amortized adjustment is made by checking fa_transactions_headers where (transaction_subtype = 'AMORTIZED' OR transaction_key = 'UA'). Any asset/book combination that meets that has an amortized adjustment. Since one can't make any expensed adjustments after an amortized adjustment, you don't have to check for a specific transaction. Just check where the condition exists.
