Accuracy of Cellular Network Positioning

Most of Asha sereis like Asha 230, Asha 500 etc. comes with cellular nework positioning for GPS navigation. How much error or accuracy is there in determining current location by using this technology?

Did you jailbreak your phone?
EDIT: You can edit them through the computer using the iphone configuration utility.

  • 100MB applications updating on cellular network

    Hi all,
Today I've encountered an interesting behaviour in the iOS app store when updating large applications while on a mobile network. When I pressed the " Update all" button (I had ~5 apps marked for update, 2 of them below 100MB), a popup came up telling me that some of the apps won't download since they're larger than 100MB - but when I pressed the OK button, they downloaded and installed anyway.
Is this behaviour expected? I've seen the popup so many times, I did not think to snap a screenshot of that...
I'm 100% positive that I was not connected to any wifi networks at the time (see attached screenshot below).
I apologize if this question has already been answered before (and for my choice of the category, did not know which one to choose for this).
    Device and carrier details:
    - iPhone 6 64GB
    - iOS 8.1.3
    - provider: si.mobil (Slovenia), Cellular data enabled and set to LTE

Most carriers don't put your phone's IP available on the internet.  First, the IPv4 ranges are running out - and with millions of phones all requiring IP addresses, you'd need millions of publicly available IP addresses that just don't exist.
Instead they use NAT.  If you have a home network with a router you probably have NAT.
On your cellular network, your phone will be given an internal address, and you can get out to the internet through the NAT device.  But, because network connections coming from the internet to the NAT can't specify which phone they want, the NAT can't
direct the connection through to your phone.  There are protocols that can do this, but you'd have to get your carrier on board to implement them - good luck with that!
Some proof?  Take a look at the address : 10.205.41.235.  That's an
    internal reserved Class C network.
One way around this, if you absolutely need phone A on Carrier B to connect to Phone C on Carrier D is to have a server that acts like a receptionist.  A connects to the server, and C connects to the server.  Something A sends to the server looks
up C (or the reverse) and then the server passes A->C and C->A communications as if they were local.

  • IPhone4 - Exchange Mail works on WiFi but not Cellular Network

I am not getting much help from my network admin so I am asking you guys. My mail works beautifully while connected to my corporate network via wifi. When I try to connect via the cellular netweork I get the "connection to the server failed" message. I think we are running exchange server 2003 and a cisco router/firewall. Any ideas that I can pass on to our IT admin?
    Thanks!

    CJ,
I fixed my issue and it was my fault. My Exchange account on the iPhone 4 works just fine over the cellular network now. My company uses IMAP for email and I had set up the IMAP account first on the iPhone because of VPN protocols set up by IT so I thought I needed to. Remember no support from my IT department for non Microsoft products...
I then set up the Exchange account for company email using my co-workers settings. The Exchange account was confusing the outgoing server from the IMAP account and would give me the "connection to server failed" message whenever I tried to use the company email over the cellular network.
I deleted both the IMAP account and the Exchange account and then set up only the Exchange account and it works perfectly now. With the IMAP account gone, the Exchange doesn't have that server getting in the way and works as it should.
You probably didn't make the same mistake I did, but thought I'd share my experience, just in case.

  • Constant Disconnection from Cellular Network

Hi There, so I've gotten my iPhone 5 32GB since July 2013 and I honestly adore the phone however, there is a problem i'm facing with it quite recently.... the phone keeps disconnecting from the cellular network carrieer every 10 secs of the day... so...I'll start up the phone it connects with 5 blocks of reception.. then it drops to four...then to 1... then it completely disconnects itself from the network and the Edge sign disappers and then 5 secs after it connects back. I dont use my phone much to talk.. however.. it messes up my data plan, i can't even make a call that is more than 10secs... it drains the battery life and I have to wait every few secs to send a whatsapp mesg/fb etc. . I spoke to my carrier... they used different sims of the same network to see if its the sim card itself being the issue.. but its not.. we even used another network's sim.. but no difference.. What should I do?
Sincerely, Stefan (first time Apple user)

    Hey stef4896,
These are all the standard troubleshooting steps for the issue you're encountering:
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrierto report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

  • How do I airplay to apple TV when using Cellular network?

I want to be able to send my netflix video to my apple tv when im using the cellular network. Can this be done? I have an out of town property that I stay at sometimes and I do not have internet access there except on my iphone. So if I bring my apple tv with me I want to be able to stream movies to it using the 4g cellular network.

Unfortunately, you must be on the same wifi network to use airplay. This setup will not work.

  • I have an iphone 2g unlocked for tmobile.  For the past 2 years it has worked fine then out of no where I get this message "your selected cellular network is no longer available" and the service cuts in and out all day.  It can't find tmobile on my phone?

I have an iphone 2g unlocked for tmobile.  For the past 2 years it has worked fine then out of no where I get this message "your selected cellular network is no longer available" and the service cuts in and out all day.  It can't find tmobile on my phone for some reason but for 2 years previous it could no problem?  tmobile says it is a problem with my phone and not their service.
    Any ideas what to do?

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.

  • Cannot connect to cellular network after 6.1.2 upgrade

I just upgraded my iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 this morning via an over-the-air update on my WiFi network. The upgrade appears to have been successful, however, it can no longer connect to the Verizon cellular network.
I tried restarting the device, but no luck.
I tried turning Airplane mode on and off....no luck.
I confirmed that Celluar is on in the General settings.
My wife's phone and my phone are on the same Verizon account and I had service (full bars) just prior to performing the upgrade. My wife's phone has not been upgraded and it still has full bars.
I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

I tried resetting the phone back to the factory settings, but still had the same problem. I made an appointment at the Apple Store and took it in.
I told the tech everything that I tried and he checked a couple of other things behind the counter. Ultimately, he diagnosed it as a problem with the SIM slot on the phone--he took the SIM out and it didn't give him a "missing SIM" message (or the like) which apparently the phone is supposed to do when you remove the SIM.
He replaced the phone with a new one. Fortunately, I had all my stuff backed up on iCloud so within about 20 mins, my phone was back to normal (less all my music content, which I synced when I got home.)
The tech mentioned that the troubleshooting steps I tried were sound, so if you experience the same problem give varjak paw's suggestions a try first. :-)

  • IPHONE 5: can't receive calls & random error messages, such as "could not activate cellular data network" and "no connection - network unavailable, please connect to wifi or cellular network."  This occurs even when signal strength or wifi is operational.

IPHONE 5:  can't receive calls and random error messages, such as "could not activate cellular data network" and "no connection - network unavailable, please connect to wifi or cellular network."  This occurs even when signal strength or wifi is operational, and it does not matter whether wifi is on or off.  ATT went through the standard protocol - resetting network, resetting sim card, etc.  No changes.  Other phones working fine in same region with same carrier.  Apple's solution is to restore software, but haven't gone there yet.  Anyone successfully addressed this/these issues?

I should point out that it worked when the iPhone was set back to factory settings, but when restored with the backup, data/internet no longer works again, and I get the "Could not activate cellular data network" error message yet again.

  • Cellular network no longer available

"your selected cellular network is no longer available. you can choose a different network in settings"
is the message I keep getting. I have tried everything...from restoring network, to even restoring my whole phone.
When I restore the phone I restore it as a new phone. The network works for like 1 mininute (has 4bars) then goes down to one, and then no connection.
I just got my phone on Friday.

I would take the SIM out and then reinsert it. Next I would restore from backup. Lastly I would restore to factory new to see if it works in that condition before you add things to the iPad.

  • "cellular network is no longer available" since upgrade to OS 3.2.2

Since I upgrade to OS 3.2.2 I cannot connect to cellular network. Turned on cellular data in settings, still shows "No Service". Tried reset network settings, tried reset iPad, tried restore. I can check my account and verify I have data plan. Any suggestions?

  • Icloud mail does not work over cellular network after upgrade to IOS 8.1.3

    Hi,
Since I did the update to IOS 8.1.3 on my iPhone 6 Plus yesterday, my icloud mails cannot be received/sent with my phone over the cellular network.
In order to make mails workin' I need to be connected to a Wifi network.
All setting are correct on the phone.
How can I fix this **** issue.
Deleted the icloud account already and added it again but that does not help.
Also when I try to connect  to iCloud from the iCloud settings it says: Authentication Failed - A server error occurred.
    The password is correct.
    Please help me.
    Jerry

I Fixed it by trying to sign in with a different ID and canceling when it asked For a password and then signed in with my ID and it works! No more error message. I got this idea from another discussion. Thank you for replying though.

My cellular network is not working on my iphone 5 after updating to ios 8.1.2 !! It was working fine on ios 8.1.1
my phone was not jillbreak or hacked to unlock. i need help, what can I do?

Did you do the Reset Network Settings as I described above?
There is no way to go back. You can try reseating your nanoSIM or replacing it. Or call your cell provider and have them check the provisioning on your phone.
Or Restore your iPhone from your backup in iTunes.

I have this problem too - and it is on a BRAND new iPhone 6 - I have definitively tracked the issue to the moment I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2 - and am beyond frustrated. No fix to tell you about, sorry…but you can read my post here if you are into the whole "misery loves company" thing: iOS 8.1.2 Cellular data problem (Definitive - maybe)

  • Help needed in using Facetime over cellular network on Ipad2 3G IOS6

i updated my Ipad2 3G to IOS6, as they mentioned that i will be able to use facetime over cellular network,
however everytime i try it over the network, it says i must connect through Wifi. any help!!

Facetime over 3G is currently only available on the iPad 3, not the iPad 2 - from http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/ :
    3. FaceTime video calling requires a FaceTime-enabled device for the caller and recipient and a Wi-Fi connection. FaceTime over a cellular network requires iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPad (3rd generation) with cellular data capability.
