ACE 4710 Lbs and SharePoint 2007 issues
We have 2 4710 ACE boxes servicing our Sharepoint farm. Users try to go to Sharepoint will get a page not displayed. We have to add ahost file to one of the sharepoint webservers and then they work just fine and get their data. We have looked and the config is very simple for the ACE. Any ideas on what can be causing this?
"We have to add a host file to the sharepoint server" -
Do you mean you are putting the DNS name of the sharepoint server into the host file on the client which is accessing the loadbalancer?
If so - there are non-relative links or redirects occuring.
If its a redirect, ACE can rewrite the Location header if its HTTP between the ACE and the server.
Can you share your config on your ACE?

TFS and SharePoint Integration Issue
I have moved TFS2010 with collections+sharepoint3.0+ report server. Everything is working fine. Except I am facing following issue regarding SharePoint. I have actually move my TFS2010 server from one hardware machine to another hardware. Sharepoint3.0
is intergrated with TFS2010.I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard edition with TFS2010 and Sharpoint 3.0 and Server 2008 R2 data center edition as base OS. The move is actually a Restore-Base move. Before migration system name and softwares are identical.
PROBLEM Detail:-
When I try to edit excel file in sharePoint following error come to me
"Edit document requires a windows sharepoint services-compatible application and microsoft internet explorer 6.0 or greater"
internet Explorer is greater than 6.0 as I am using a internet explorer 9.0.29 version.
I am using a SharePoint 3.0 and Office 2013 suit with it.
IN TFS I have following SharePoint related Issue: (I have a folder on sharepoint which take data from workitems quries in TFS. It also appear in VS2010 in documents folder)
In TFS when I open an Excel file that design to take data from TFS workitems automatically. But it will not update its item through defined workitems. So I open the file then enter required username password--->
then enable editing (at this point it gives me errror "Run time error '91':
Object variable or With block variable not set". I just end it to move forward)(Also after this it will show the IP of old TFS server from which I have restored so that is why I go to Team menu)---> Team menu
--> Configure --> here in connection I give the IP of my present TFS Server then it will connect to my collection manually-----> then I go to
list and select the desired query from which the data should be update --> Now ofter pressing ok it will update the data in excel file from the query --->
but the problem come when I try to save this file it will not save this file in sharepoint rather it gives me message that
file is read-only and try to save file in different location or with different name.
PROBLEM
My Issue that excel file should be open directly from Sharepoint and user should be able to save it directly to sharepoint. Now my users first download the file --> change it and then upload it as a new file. very ambarrasing.
Also my TFS users excel files are not updating from Workitems Queries automatically. These files must be updated automatically after we change the query data in work items.
Please suggest me any solution. I am just stuckI have moved TFS2010 with collections+sharepoint3.0+ report server. Everything is working fine. Except I am facing following issue regarding SharePoint. I have actually move my TFS2010 server from one hardware machine to another hardware. Sharepoint3.0

Infopath 2007 and SharePoint 2007 error with Web Service Submit and Recieve
I have an InfoPath form with code. The code submits the form to SharePoint and to SQL DB through Web Service. The form has some workflow. When form is in a "New" state if submits to SharePoint and Database through custom web service. Works fine
from both Client and SharePoint browser form. The database ID is returned to the form and then stored in a field. In second stage of workflow additional fields are shown for Supervisor to fill out. I then have an "update" web service to update the
database. I set all the field values in the Web service then execute both the update Web Service and the SharePoint submit. I get an error (both if running from desktop or SharePoint) Error is
"The string '' is not a valid AllXsd value"
I know sometimes this happens with dates. But I've got all the dates set. The funny thing is in the first submit there are 2 dates in the second submit there is one date. All are set the same and on the first submit no problem submits correct dates to SQL
database through web Service. Second submit has 2 Boolean fields that I also default to a value of false. I've debugged and looked at all the values and everything has a value. I use delete NIL to make sure value in Web Service is set. I can save the data
in the form but not submit it because I get the web service error. If I save the data in form and download it and copy all the values in the XML to my Web Service and invoke the web service works fine. So there is no error in the web service. The first
submit submits both dates and some integer values. The only difference in second is the Boolean value but it is set to default of false for all checkboxes. I'm going out of mind trying to see what could be wrong. Also difference with second
is it sends in the ID of the record that was set in form by result of first submit query sending back the DB value. That value is an integer but I also set correctly.
Susan J. SwangerHi Somatco,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you ran report with xml type datasource.
Please set the xml datasource credential to Use Windows Authentication (integrated security). More information, please refer to the link:

Windows 2003 Powershell and SharePoint 2007
I know its old versions of a lot of things, but I need to run a Powershell script on a SharePoint 2007 list. I wrote the script and it works perfectly well if I run it under the SharePoint System Admin account. But as we all know updating a list item using
this account does not start the associated workflow. So I tried running the script using different credentials. This user account has Portal Owner permissions but when the script tries to use New-Object cmdlet it fails. Can anyone tell me how I get the cmdlets
available to this new user?
ThanksYou are trying to instantiate a New-Object of what type? Is it complaining about the New-Object cmdlet itself, or the actual object not being found in loaded assemblies?

Business Objects 3.0 and Sharepoint 2007
We are currently upgrading from XI R2 to BO 3.0 and would like to use Sharepoint 2007. I see a integration Kit for the XI R2 version but not for 3.0. What are our options, how can we utilize sharepoint 2007 ?
We upgraded from Crystal Enterprise 10 to 3.0 only to find (even though all the documentation was there and we were encouraged to do so) that the Sharepoint2007 portal was not yet available. Last I heard was 3rd qtr 2008 or 1st qtr 2009 for availability.
Since we have had many users download CR2008 and create reports that they wanted published this created a political nightmare.
We have now fallen back to XI R2 just so we could implement the sp2007 portal kit. -
Analyzer for Excel and Office 2007: Issue on Data Refresh and Parameters
Hi all,
for a customer BIP workshop I want to prepare a demo and experience a strange issue. Hope this is known and bugfix or workaround exists.
Created a very simple demo report with two columns and a numeric parameter. Called Excel Analyzer, the document opens correctly in Excel, data are filtered properly using the parameters initial value. I always have to log in to BI Publisher Server first, when a new instance of Excel is opened.
Then I choose 'Show parameters' from the BIP add-on menu. My parameter is shown with its correct inital value. But: After pressing 'Refresh Data' (regardless if parameter value has been changed or not), a VBA error message (Code 1004) occurs. Then the excel cursor remains hourglass and no BIP related function is available in this opened Excel instance anymore.
And another thing: After choosing 'Show Parameters' there appears a new empty column under 'Report Parameters' and the first cells of the table data are overwritten with parameter values.
Think, something goes wrong there with Excel 2007. Unfortunately I only can use this version.
Thanks in advance for hints. If I cannot fix this until Friday, customer will probably not be exalted by BIP :( .
Edited by: KaiMoeller on 10.08.2009 23:57 'typos'fschulze,
I face the same issue in Excel 2003: Run-time error 91, Object variable or With block variable not set.
This happens everytime when I try to refresh the data after I open a saved excel template. But the refresh works fine when the report is initially downloaded using the Analyzer for Excel button
Have you found the workaround for this problem ?

Powershell v2 and Sharepoint 2007 - Empty huge recycle bin - HOW?
Hi all
I need to delete the First and Second stage Recycle bin for all of our personal sites, as the total size of these has somehow exceeded 140GB.
I am however stuck as to how to do this. I have tried lots of Powershell scripts to get this done, but nothing has worked. I also tried to just switch off the Recycle Bin but this operation just times out, as the Bin is too large now for this to work.
My most recent Powershell script that I tried is the only one that didnt throw any errors and seemed to do something for about 6 seconds, but checking the recycle bin for the site I tried it against shows that it is still full:
param([string]$Url, [switch]$help)
[void][System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("Microsoft.SharePoint")
function GetHelp()
$HelpText = @"

$recycleQuery = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRecycleBinQuery;
$recycleQuery.ItemState = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRecycleBinItemState]::SecondStageRecycleBin;
$recycleQuery.OrderBy = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRecycleBinOrderBy]::Default;
$recycledItems = $siteCollection.GetRecycleBinItems($recycleQuery);
$count = $recycledItems.Count;
for($i = 0; $i -lt $count; $i++)
$g = New-Object System.Guid($recycledItems[$i].ID);
$recycledItems.Delete($g);
$siteCollection.Dispose()
if($help) { GetHelp; Continue }
if($url) { Remove-SPSiteSecondStageRecycleBin -url $url }
After pressing Enter after adding the above, I then entered the below into Powershell:
Remove-SPSiteSecondStageRecycleBin -url http://ansafile
This seemed to do something, but not what I needed it to do, ie delete the recycle bin for the whole sharepoint installation. ANSAFILE is the internal name of the Sharepoint site. Also, I am using Powershell v2, in an ISE window. My server is running Windows
Server 2008 Std x64 edition. Sharepoint version is 12.0.0.6565
Hopefully someone can help, as I have never used Powershell before, and had to take over the Sharepoint which I have never done before either, and its a bit of a struggle
Thanks to all
NazHi, I just tried the following Powershell script:
Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell
$WebApp=get-spwebapplication "http://ansafile"
foreach ($SPSite in $webApp.Sites)
#get the collection of webs
foreach($SPWeb in $SPSite.AllWebs)
#Empty the 1st Stage Recycle bin items PERMENANTLY
#$SPWeb.RecycleBin.DeleteAll();
#Send the 1st Stage Recycle bin items to 2nd Stage
$SPWeb.RecycleBin.MoveAllToSecondStage();
write-host "End-User Recycle Bin Items Deleted for:"
write-host $SPWeb.title ":" $SPWeb.URL "`n"
#Empty SharePoint site collection recycle bin (Second Stage Recycle bin) or Admin Recycle bin
#$SPSite.RecycleBin.DeleteAll();
#write-host "Administrator Recycle bin Items Deleted for:" $SPSite.RootWeb.title "`n"
However, this results in the following error:

BPC Admin and Excel 2007 issues
Having issues with excel when using BPC Admin. Excel keeps freezing up. It seems to happen on a team member's computer also. Any idea what might be causing it?
Hi Krishna,
This happens due to improper user access. You need to create the user profile again. And also you can check the following steps for the same:
Enable OSoftAddIn from Excel Options :
Open Excel Options
Click Add-Ins
Select Disabled Items in the Manage box and then click Go
Select OSoftAddIn from the list and the click Enable
Reconnect to BPC for Excel so changes could take effects
If, when you re-open Excel, the add-in still shows as disabled, follow these steps first:
Open Interenet Explorer, Click Tools>Internet Options, Advanced tab, Security
Make sure the box for u201CDo not save encrypted pages to disku201D is checked. Apply changes.
Hope this helps.

ACE 4710 Client and Server hitting same VIP
But the catch here is we are using IP's from server side VLAN's as opposed to from the Client side. If that were the case I would simply use SNAT and assign a pool but in this case that doesn't appear to work.
So how do I get this to work?
MikeAnd how do I do that? You say client nat, i hear source nat and think of this-
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2706/products_configuration_example09186a00809c6ef5.shtml
this doesn't work because my VIP IP pool is the same as the server side vlan.
We are using public IP on our servers as to not have to manage rfc1918 addresses.

Sharepoint 2007 and SQL 2008 SP3 on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 (64-bit)
Is there any documentation we can check if SQL 2008 SP3 is compatible with Sharepoint 2007 SP2 or SP3? Both Sharepoint and SQL servers are running on separate Virtual machines (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2(64-bit)). Currently DB is running on
SQL server 2008 SP2, and we would like to have SP3 loaded on it, but want to find if there is any compatibility issue?
Thanks in advance!
mhI'm not aware of any known issues with SQL Server 2008 SP3 and SharePoint 2007. I did a quick check and saw one person reporting an issue with their Central Admin site after applying the SQL Server update, but that's it.
With that being said, I would strongly encourage you to test out the application of that SQL Server service pack in a non-production environment well before you apply it in production. There is always a chance that your environment has something set up in
it that would cause an unexpected issue, and the best way to get an idea of whether or not an issue exists is by doing it somewhere else first before you do it in prod.

Sharepoint 2007 and BO Edge 3.0
Hi,
is it possible to use BO Edge 3.0 and Sharepoint 2007 using the Sharepoint Portal Integration Kit 3.0?
In the Sharepoint Portal Integration Kit 3.0 Installation Guide it says we should install BO Enterprise 3.0 .net SDK. But with BO Edge 3.0 there is no .net SDK available.
Does this mean, we can't use BO Edge 3.0 and Sharepoint 2007?
Thanks very much,
KarinHi,
yes, at least i have no more error message in query designer
I created a new Universe, and a new BO report.

Can Xcelsius Enterprise integrate w/ Sharepoint 2007 with Xcelsius Webparts
Hi,
Our organization is thinking about investing in Xcelsius Enterprise. We have Crystal Reports 2008 and Sharepoint 2007 running. Can Xcelsius enterprise connect to both and can I implement a realtime dashboard on Sharepoint 2007. I'd like to create a dashboard in Xcelsius and publish it to Sharepoint 2007 as a swf file and have the flash object updated automatically. Can someone confirm that Xcelsius enterprise will work? Will it do it through webparts? Also can I duplicate the same dashboard on Crystal Reports 2008 InfoView site? The dashboard on Sharepoint would be mutlipaned and have some KPI's if I can set them up against the dashboard information.
Thank for your help.
DominicAnyone? I can't believe no one has tried this with Xcelsius Enterprise?

Hi,
We got new ACE 4710 device and i am trying to configure that in Bridging mode.
I am trying to loadbalance between two servers which is connected as shown below:
Servers -> Switch -> Router (with subinterface).
Servers IP: 172.16.11.1 and 172.16.11.2
Router IP: 172.16.11.254
Default route is router IP address for servers.
I am new to ACE and I am confused about how to assign interface on ACE so that ACE can bridge the traffic between router and servers VLAN.
We have some more servers which are on different VLAN but can connect to these servers as router is doing inter-vlan routing too.
I want inter-vlan routing and load balancing between above two servers concurrently. Pls. help in this regard.
Also attaching the ACE config file.Here is the config, hope this will help.

BO XI3.1 and Sharepoint Integration
Hello,
I am looking for some advice regarding sharepoint integration.
Scenario:
1. BO Server with XI3.1/SP2
2. Seperate Sharepoint Server 2007 - sharepoint site.
We want to access BO reports through the sharepoint site.
I have been reading the installation guides /pre-requisites and have got a general idea , however there are possible downloads both under BO Enterprise folder ( portal integration) as well as a seperate Integration kit.
Would appreciate any advice for integration for this particular scenario.
RegardsHi,
Use IOMS or integration Option for Microsoft SharePoint software.
It supports on XI3.1 and Sharepoint 2007 32 bit.
You might want to look at blogs below
