ACE running very very very SLOW

I am using Postalsoft DeskTop Mailer ver 7.90c, have updated all new directories, installed the new hot fix. Why is ACE not loading into memory (check box is checked) or if it is why is it running very very very SLOW ? I installed software on two different computers and they run exactly the same - SLOW
What do I need to do to fix this ?

Tim,
Please make sure to post any "classic Firstlogic software" questions under the Business Objects Enterprise Information Management (EIM) forum and you will get a much faster response.  Also you can log a case for support by going to the Help and Support tab on the SAP website, then click on Report A Product Error to log a case for support.  Just make sure to choose BOJ-EIM-COM for the component when logging a case for DeskTop Mailer, or Business Edition.
We are aware of this issue with 7.90 DeskTop Mailer and Business Edition.  This is corrected in revision 4 due out this week.  Please make sure to have your auto update turned on in the software so you get this fix.
Thanks,
Kendra

  • Tiger 10.4.8 running one computer very slow...

I have 2 main computers in my photography studio. Running all with Tiger
    10.4.8.
One is a powerbook G4 with 17" screen. This one seems to be running OK.
The other is a G4 tower (733 processor - memory 1GB) and this computer seems to be running all apps very slow (Photoshop, Appleworks, printing, saving files ect.). I have begun have begun having problems on 'start-up' of a 'gray screen' saying I have to restart the computer (not exact on what it says but sure you all have seen it before...).
I run 'cocktail', 'disk warrior', 'techtool deluxe' and the 'disk utility' on a regular basis (at least once a week) and they don't seem to help.
I have 2 firewire external HD's hooked up to it (got alot of photos to work with).
Am wondering if anyone else is having a problem since updating to 10.4.8 or if the HD is just getting ready to end it's life?
    Any help is appreciated!!!

    1. You wrote: "I have been running cocktail, disk warrior, disk utility and techtool deluxe everyday and have not had the kernal panic issue in the last few days. So I think that issue has been cleared up."Hard to say without seeing the panic logs as to what may have caused the panic. If they return, follow the troubleshooting road map in my "Resolving Kernel Panics" FAQ.
    2. You wrote: "Photoshop CS2, Bridge and even Appleworks (which I don't use all that often) is still running very, very slow. "Some additional suggestions:• See the "Troubleshooting performance problems" section of my "Tuning Mac OS X Performance" FAQ.
    • An errant Startup or Login Item maybe the cause on the affected computer. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
    • Try troubleshooting the FireWire drives by process of elimination: try running without them, then one of them, then the other. If the problem occurs when one of the FireWire drives is connected, it could be a problem with the FireWire drive, the cable, or the FireWire port.
    • To rule out broader hardware problems with the Mac itself, run the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) that came the affected computer. See my "Apple Hardware Test" FAQ for comprehensive advice on using the AHT in troubleshooting.3. You wrote: "Do you think that my HD (running the operating system) is just slowly beginning to die??? "You can rule that out by checking its SMART status. See Step 1 of the Procedure in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ if you need step-by-step instructions.
    Good luck!

After closing Firefox to use IE8 or any other program (like InterVideo to watch a DVD), everything is very choppy and slow. I have to go into Taskbar, Processes, and close firefox.exe manually (which is using up all the memory/CPU and should have closed before). Then, and only then, does everything behave normally. What is going on and what am I doing wrong or missing??

If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes before starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.

If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. • Why is my new iPad mini with retina very, very jerky and slow?

    Hi,
Does anyone know what I can do about my new iPad being very, very jerky and slow?
FACT - The multitouch screen is unresponsive and I have to press and press and press to select what I want before it reacts.
It's an iPad mini with retina, so it's got the new chipset which runs really, really fast.
    FACT - What happens is:
I start up pages and it freezes completely for quite a while before allowing me access to my documents.
I go to settings and it freezes up totally for quite a while before allowing me access to my settings.
Is there a cure? I get similar problems on my acompanying really, really fast iPhone 5s.
    PS
Plenty of memory left so no problems there - only about half used and they're both 32gb.
...and my beloved iPad2 never used to do this either.

If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here’s How to Speed It Up
    http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/23/ios-7-slow-speed-it-up/
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Query running for a very long time

Hi I have a sales Query which is running for a very long time,
It is built on a multiprovider. The multiprovider gets feed from cube and DSO.
It is taking very long time to run.
I need to do some performance tuning can you please suggest.

    Hi Ravi,
First maitain BW statistics for that query and after that go to se11 and give table RSDDSTAT. just check how many records selected in data base and how many records transferred.
according to this statistics create aggregates by giving propose aggregates by using statistics tables. after running a query check in RSRT whether the data is coming from aggregates or not.
do not exclude any selections try to include in query restrictions.
    try to create secondary indexes.
    let us know the result.

  • Cover flow very sticky and slow with garbled images

The images in my cover flow area are gibberish, literally random lines and colors and cover flow itself is very sticky and slow. Oddly, there are on occasion covers that are normal. Does anybody know what this is or is anybody having this issue? It was this way with 7.6 and it's the same way with 7.6.1, I was hoping it would get corrected.

Comment about my previous comment. It's not just slightly slow, it's incredibly slow as in press the slidebar down arrow and wait a couple seconds for 1 increment of movement slow. The only time is returns to a normal speed is when I go to a screen without cover flow. For example, when I click the 'all movies' link in the iTunes store. I had this problem with 7.6 and it still exists with 7.6.1.

Ever since I downloaded this latest version, my browser is not loading the page. Says can't find the server error. This is very frustrating and slow. What should I do.

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

  • Since installing Yosemite my Quarkxpress 10 is not running correctly. Too slow or crashes. How do I uninstall Os X Yosemite without losing all of my designs?

Since installing Yosemite my Quarkxpress 10 is not running correctly. Too slow or crashes. How do I uninstall Os X Yosemite without losing all of my designs?

    Thank you Thomas
First, for changing my question to the right forum. I am new on this and wasn't aware I was in the wrong forum.
Secondly, even though my initial question is not answered as in: I just want to remove Classic, what you say is right. I think now, after writing my long question and seeing your answers, that I should start from scratch.
To answer your question, I bought the new drive to be able to store and back up into DVDs and CDs all the photographs and movies that are still in the computer. I also need to make CDs of my portfolio since I am trying to find a new job and buying a new Mac at this point is out of the question. To upgrade the computer: I just do not have use for OS 9 anymore; I cannot upgrade to the latest Java, Safari or have issues with Flash or other programs; the programs that I have and need will still run perfectly fine or better in Leopard. And even if I could buy another computer I would still like to hang onto this computer for a while.

  • Mac running Yosemite now very slow with crashes

    Can anyone help?
I'm running Yosemite 10.10.2 on a MacBook Air (Late 2010) and it's got progressively worse since upgrading from Mavericks.
I'm seeing unbelievably slow and sluggish behaviour across the system.
A reboot helps initially, but then it gets progressively worse again.
Lots of apps crashing too - most notably, Safari.
Mavericks ran like a dream, but Yosemite is awful. It makes me think I've got something installed somewhere that is incompatible and dragging the whole OS down.
Thought it might be useful to post an EtreCheck ( http://etresoft.com/etrecheck). Can anyone help diagnose the problem?
    Thanks in advance!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • My MacPro is running very bitty and slow.

I recently took up the offer of Apple's free Maverick upgrade. Oh dear....big mistake!
But since then, it runs incredibly slow and very bitty.
Also some applications are badly effected with the upgrade.
What can be done to eliminate this frustrating to work with situation please?
Also, how do I downgrade the OS, should this Maverick problem not be able to fix please?

  • Joomla website running from Azure very slow

I have migrated a Joomla website to windows Azure and it is running really slow (despite being a temp URL with only me connecting to it) compared to the previous hosting. The site is scaled up to standard with 2 CPUs and runs from a free cleardb
MySQL database (as created by the Azure Joomla wizard). I have tried everything (following guides on speeding up Joomla) to speed it up but nothing works. I am suspicious of the free cleardb database connection and raised a support question with them but they
    were useless.
Is Microsoft's flagship Azure hosting really this bad? Has anyone else had problems with speed (particularly if connecting to a cleardb SQL database)?
    My test URL is: http://rmjoomla.azurewebsites.net

    Thanks Brenton,
That's interesting that it is responsive on the US. Apparently the website and database are hosted in Northern Europe (Dublin for Azure and not sure where database is exactly) and I am based in UK. I have checked it across different connections but
it just seems slow (sometimes 10s plus to load a page). The only thing I haven't tried is upgrading the database but since I am the only connection I am not convinced this will help.
There may be another option you need to check... Make sure the Website is AlwaysOn.. and Azure doesn't tear down the website due to inactivity.

  • Can anyone help with my 2010 mbp running slow i.e. games are very laggy and slow to open apps

i have a 2010 mbp and i cant run games that i was able to run flawlessly a couple months ago im not sure if iv done somethin to cause this issue i really only use my comp to watch movies and videos nothin that i would think would slow it the way it has if someone could give me some advise as to how to get it running 100% again it would be much appreciated

Use this as a trouble shooting guide:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3521
Check the status of your HDD.  Open DisK Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.  Also is the HDD full?  Often that is a problem.
    Try a Safe Boot:

Often third party applications have a negative affect on performance.  Performance or cleaning apps as well as anti-virus apps are often the culprit and should be deleted.
    Ciao.
You might also open Activity Monitor and examine if additional RAM might be useful.
Note that Macs are not good gaming machines.
