ACE20-MOD-K9 module facing NP crash/restart

Hi,
Facing isue with ACE module Part#ACE20-MOD-K9 having NP failed error message and module got restarted.
Module software currently# c6ace-t1k9-mz.A2_1_6a.bin
We have studied the Support Community document and got the BUG id's information having impact on this module,
BUG id's: CSCsv92321, CSCsx25981, CSCsq38638
Now we need help regarding software version to upgrade for the ACE module having no impact on this ACE module by these BUG id's having parity error symptoms.
Also attaching the respective logs for the module restart issue.
Regards,
Ashutosh

Hi,
This looks like a parity error. If this is a first time occurrence I would recommend you to upgrade to a latest software and keep monitoring.
CSCsq38638
Symptom:The ACE blade cores indicating a SRAM Parity Error. Occasionally  another type of process (such as IFMGR, etc.) core may accompany the  SRAM error crash.
Conditions:This is a rare condition where the ACE blade is running and performs an SRAM operation that detects an SRAM parity error.
Workaround:Reboot of the ACE will clear the state.  This reboot is accomplished automatically when the corefile is created.

Can ACE20-MOD-K9 and ACE10-6500-K9 be configured to work togeather as redundant pair?

ACE10-6500-K9 and ACE20-MOD-K9 modules can occupy the same chassis.

  • Decommissioning ACE20-MOD-K9 - how to verify ALL traffic is migrated off?

    Hello there community,
I'm going to be shutting down a couple ACE20-MOD-K9 modules soon, but want to verify for 100% that there is ZERO traffic flowing on them.
What are commands I can use to ensure there is no traffic on them at all any more so it's safe to shut them down?
    Thank You in advance.

    Hi James,
"Sh conn" shall show you any connections established. If you don't see anything in source and destination except ACE IP's (including standby) and your own IP(because of telnet or ssh), then this indicates that there is no traffic coming on to these ACE's. Even the pass through traffic is part of " show conn" and that should tell you if you have any traffic. Run this command in each context.
Show resource usage all--->Can be run in Admin and shall give you an idea about all contexts.
    show serverfarm summary
    show service-policy summary
All these commands shall also show you any connections coming on to the ACE. You can clear all counters to have a good idea.
    Regards,
    Kanwal

my iphone 5 crashes (restarts) automatically after updating to ios 7.1 anyboday facing same issues ? Need help !!!!

I am having the same issues--just got off phone with customer service rep--was told that my phone is in recoveyr mode and that I would have to restore it, however, the only things that would be restored would be from my last backup which was in November 2013!  I was also told that apple users should not update as soon as the update is available (so why are they sending it to us if they're not sure that there will be any problems!!!).  I can't restore now since I am in work--will do it when I go home tonight.  In the meantime, I am without a working iphone for the day!  This is horrible--I see I'm not the only one who has experienced this!

  • HA - ACE20-MOD-K9 - FT Group Config Will Not Synch (SSL)

    Hi,
We have a pair of ACE20-MOD-K9 in Fault Tolerant mode. They are running multiple contexts and we have a problem with one particular context which is running SSL off-loading. Despite the config being identical on both (accept for the peer addresses obviously) and both having the same SSL Key and Cert files loaded on both, the configuration will not sync between them.

  • Why does my MacBook spontaneously crash/restart?

My MacBook is suddenly restarting for no apparent reason.  What follows is a detailed description of the issue and surrounding circumstances, various elements of which may or may not be relevant.
Several months ago I noticed my trackpad button had stopped clicking reliably.  About two months ago I realized that the replacement laptop battery I was using (purchased on Amazon as genuine Apple product, but probably not really made by Apple) had begun to swell just enough to press up from the underside of the trackpad and prevent it from functioning properly.  I removed the battery and have been using the machine with AC power so that the trackpad will work right.  I intend to replace the battery with a new one directly from Apple, but given the cost I would like to make sure I can resolve my other issues first.  I have included the above because it was roughly around the time I began using my MacBook without a battery that the symptoms below began.  Using the computer without a battery may or may not be related these issues, but it is the only thing I can think of that changed anywhere near when the problems began.
Around this time, the backlight on the built-in display began to regularly (1-5 times per hour of use) shut itself off.  The LCD stays on and can still be seen faintly in ambient light, but the backlight turns itself off as if I had turned the brightness all the way down using the F1 key.  The brightness control itself seems to stay up, however, as the temporary fix I was able to find by researching the issue online is to turn the brightness all the way down (using the F1 key) and then back up again (using F2) and display brightness rises with my pressing the F2 display-brighter button.  This would last anywhere from 1-1000 minutes (approximate) of use before shutting off (backlight) again and I would have to do the same thing.  The length of time until the next shutoff seems to be shorter the brighter I have the display brightness set, but the symptom comes and goes in fits and spurts.  Sometimes I can't keep it on more than 15 seconds and I just give up and drag whatever windows I'm working on to my external monitor (which functions fine throughout - I use the external and built-in displays side-by-side with a mini-DVI to DVI adapter), but other times it will go for a week just fine.  This may or may not be related to my more serious issue below, but it began just in advance of the below and has continued to the present.
About the same time I stopped using the battery and started experiencing display backlight shutoffs, my computer began spontaneously crashing and restarting itself.   The first time it happened I was attempting to play a video (MP4 I think) from the hard drive in QuickTime Player.  The video played for a few minutes, and then my computer crashed and began to restart itself.  I let it restart and tried playing the video several more times, even using VLC instead of QuickTime as the player, but each time the computer would play a few seconds to a few minutes before dying and restarting.  In the hours and days that followed, the machine would randomly restart every 1-100 (approximately) minutes of use.  The shutdowns seemed more likely to occur when attempting to play video of any format, local or online, and for a while I couldn't even play a YouTube vid without the computer shutting down.  Sometimes the machine would restart to my login screen, but then if I logged in right away it would begin the login process but then die and restart again.  If I waited a while before logging in it seemed to "calm down" and would login successfully.  The restarts were more likely during video playback, but not exclusive to this task.
I noticed that the restarts seemed to especially come in "clumps," and that allowing the machine a rest seemed to help.  I also noticed that the fan frequently (but not always) sounded like it was running at full power at the time of restart.  I concluded that the restarts were likely the result of overheating.  I disassembled the machine in order to clean out the fan and heat sink.  I didn't find much lint / blockage, but I thoroughly cleaned out what was there and did a cursory look around the internals for anything that might appear to be out of order, but I didn't find anything remarkable.  The restarts continued, together with high fan speeds just before, so I downloaded iStat Pro to monitor internal temperatures in my status bar.  I watched temps pretty closely, especially when I heard the fan, but the highest I ever saw was 80 degrees celsius on the CPU die.  I don't know a lot about CPU temperature ranges, but from some cursory research it looks like that is way below the cutoff for an automatic shutdown (and besides, it seems like it should shutdown rather than restart for overheating).  I watched to see if the restarts happened at the same temperature every time, but they varied widely, sometimes even occurring below 65 C, with or without high fan noise.
The issue persisted and was becoming a real problem for me, and I already had a HDD I was planning to upgrade to, so I decided to do the HDD swap and follow with a clean install of OSX (via download from Apple) rather than migrate from my old drive because I figured that would take care of any software issues.  After I swapped out the HDD and did a clean install it was three days or so until the display backlight cut out as before, and about a week before the first sudden restart, which brings us to the present.  Since that first restart, I've seen another 6 or so in the last 4 hours.  I have also noticed an occasional failure to get past the grey screen on an intentional shutdown (not the sudden restarts) since replacing the HDD and reinstalling OSX, but that only happens on occasion.  The only things I have installed since replacing the HDD other than the OS are MS Office for Mac 2011 (from CD) and then Flash and Silverlight plug-ins for Safari.  I've also transferred over some files from my old HDD using a USB caddy and have opened some documents, but I haven't run any applications or installers besides the aforementioned.  I haven't been able to transfer everything from the old HDD though, because the old drive (in a USB caddy) drive seems to spontaneously unmount, giving me the "the disk was not ejected properly" message and causing Finder to freeze up with a spinwheel of death and not recover after relaunching finder in the Force Quit dialog.  This seems to lead to the manual shutdown stalling on the grey screen as well (when means I have to use the button to force full shutdown).  This could just be a problem with my caddy though.
Here is what I have tried, in total:
    - Restarted the machine
    - Disassembled laptop and cleaned out the fan / heat sink
    - Watched temperatures (no apparent correlation)
    - Replaced HDD and reinstalled OSX from scratch (by download from Apple)
    - Ran Apple Hardware Test (no problems found)
    - Software Update ("your software is up to date")
    - Checked for System Diagnostic Reports in Console following spontaneous restarts, found none present
    - Reset NVRAM / PRAM
    - Reset SMC
Those last two resets I did just prior to posting and so far I haven't seen the crash/restart, although I have seen the dead backlight.  It hasn't been long though so we'll see. . .
Here is what I am running:

One final note - when the system spontaneously restarts, it doesn't properly shutdown as it would if I initiated a restart, it just suddenly dies, black screen, and then I hear the startup tone and it begins to restart.
Obviously this is an older machine and I've gotten a lot of good use out of it, but I still need it and don't have the budget right now to replace it so any help you can offer would be much appreciated.  I'm pretty much stymied.
Please let me know if anything is missing / unclear!

It hasn't been long though so we'll see. . .

  • Historical data from ACE20 load balancer modules

    Hello,
I am trying to get some historical data from our ACE20 load balancer modules which are housed in a 6504, but cannot seem to find where to get this information from. I would like to get information such as memory used, CPU active connections, throughput, http requests etc over the past month, is there any way that I can do this? I am using ANM 2.0
    Thanks

    Hello,
Below are teh steps to load from DB connect.
Just go to Rsa1->modeling->source system->double click on the source system. On right habd side side right click on the topmost node.now it will take u to a screen, there u can give the table name (if u know) or just execute. it will display all the tables u have in Oracle. there double click on th eselected table and select the fields requared and now generate data source. now come back to RSA1->source system-> replicate the data source. now assign infosouce as usual. And create infopackage and start the load.
And this doesn't support delta process.

  • After updating to Firefox5.1, Nvidia kernal mode driver frequently "not responding & crashed then recovered", along with crashing of the Firefox browser.

After updating to Firefox5.1, Nvidia kernal mode driver frequently "not responding & crashed then recovered", along with crashing of the Firefox browser.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded to Win 7, no problems. Then I upgraded to FF 4.0, and I kept getting Nvidia Video Card crashes. I always undo my last computer change/install when something like this happens, so I immediately uninstalled 4.0, and went back to my older version of Firefox. No problems ever since.

Crashing when I add a 2nd pic to my project it crashes hard & restarts my iPad2. I have tryed this twice and it crashed & restarted each time.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that PS  Touch crashed on your iPad2. Sounds like the memory is getting low on your device.
How many  apps do you have running?
Have  you tried this after a reboot of the device with only having PSTouch running?

  • Why this 6509 module reset caused system restart?

I had a 6509 switch recycled power to its 6748-GE-TX module. I like to understand why this module reset caused the system to restart, and what this "system restart" means. Please see the syslog messages (I didn't include all messages).
    Thanks
    Gary
Mar 16 09:52:49.452 EST: %OIR-SP-3-PWRCYCLE: Card in module 9, is being power-cycled off (Module experiencing Port asic error)

Mar 16 09:53:57.497 EST: %OIR-SP-6-INSCARD: Card inserted in slot 9, interfaces are now online

    Hi Gary,
The message is a bit misleading. The "system restarted" message is coming from the CFC daughter card on the module
    "%SYS-CFC9-5-RESTART: System restarted -"
So the entire switch did not restart, but just the module and daughter card. Now, I'm saying that based on the provided messages. You should check the system uptime in the "show ver" and/or the reset logs stored in the NVRAM log "show log" as well.
But, as I said, if the only indication of "System restarted" was in the above syslog, then that's only referring to the CFC.

  • 20 GB iPod Color crashes, restarts while syncing

My newly purchased 20 Gig has always had a problem while sycronizing with my mac. It actually crashes (screen goes blank, white apple logo appears after a few seconds) then mounts properly and is visible within iTunes 5.
After successfully attempting a restore, my library of 1400 songs now attempts to sync, but after 1 to 20 songs, the iPod crashes, restarts, and looses any songs it was able to move across. Eventually I got my library accross by checking of each playlist one at a time and "saving my progress" before the iPod would faint.
The iPod plays music fine, and doesn't seem to die when browsing the files via the Finder. The problem seems to be more acute under iTunes 5, but I can't sustantiate that claim.
    Any ideas?

Solution? Use firewire. $20 extra is lame (not very much, mind you) but now I don't have to send it in, and the uploads are a tiny bit faster. As I type, I'm 650 of 1300 songs in, without a hickup. Last night, it'd crash after 10. I'll be posting this in a few threads - I apologize if you're reading them all!

  • ACE20-MOD-K9 - how to discover a server?

    Hi there!
First foray into Cisco load balancing for me.  Looking to discover how to find a server instance on a Cisco ACE20-MOD-K9.  What I need to do is remove 5 servers (1 at a time) using the 'no inservice' command.  Just need to locate their instances on the load balancer.
    I have:
    Server Names
    Server internal IP addresses
Since the commands aren't revealing themselves to me naturally like they seem to on Nexus for example, asking for help from the community again :)
Please advise if possible, many thanks!

    Hi,
So if you are looking for a server named LYNC, you will do below:
    switch/Admin# sh running-config rserver LYNC
    Generating configuration....
    rserver host LYNC
      ip address 10.x.x.x
      inservice
You can do the same for serverfarms, class-maps, policy maps etc. You can also filter using "show run | inc <name>"
Show serverfarms, show rservers, show service-policy summary are few commands which can come in handy to find out configured items and names.
Pasting a link for your reference which is useful for TS and basic commands.
